Fellow Bears, I just want to alert you guys to a page that has been created on Facebook titled "we all know the Ibrox disaster was magic". This is disgusting, and there are Celtic fans on the page who are thinking it's great, although in fairness, the majority are saying they are disgusted by it. I'd urge you all to report this to police and/or the newspapers. For too long we have been the ones publicly slated for sectarian remarks made regarding certain topics. Lets see if Alex Salmond, the police and the rest will be hard hitting as they say they will. If anyone deserves a 5 year prison sentence, its the moron who made this page and those who support it.

Lest We Forget the 66 who lost their lives that fateful day 40 years ago following our beloved Glasgow Rangers.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

That, s just typical of that lot.not a thing will be done and it wont get mentioned in the press either.whoever made this should be in peterhead with the rest of his bheastly kind.

Agree1 Disagree0

I am a Celtic fan and i agree 100% with you , the Ibrox disaster was shocking and should not be mocked by anyone , but after the events of last season (Neil Lennon's treatment) all Scottish football fans should take a long hard look at themselves , these problems are a blight on Scottish society in general not just Celtic or Rangers fans and tit for tat outbursts are not solving anything . {Ed001's Note - I would just like to point out, to the guy with the holier than thou attitude trying to make out the problem is purely a Celtic problem, there is a Rangers fans page on there that is equally disgusting. It is titled something along the lines of 'taking off your Celtic top after a hard day's shagging kids'. So please get your head out of your backside and realise the problem is not Celtic's alone, there is scum out there supporting every club.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Not wanting to start anything here but how many of these "disgusted" Rangers "fans" are the same people who signed up to the 'Death to Lennon' page?

For the record, i am a Celtic fan and agree the page is bang out of order.

Agree0 Disagree0

While you're on facebook, will you report the pages inciting violence towards Celtic's manager and anything of a sectarian nature from either set of fans?

El hadji diouf was on 80k a week at blackburn but we got him. people will come to rangers to win trophies and a chance of champions league football not money

Utter tosh. Diouf was on 50k at blackburn, during his loan we paid 25k and Rovers paid 25k. B.S some folk talk on here.

Not a rumour as such but more a request. Do Rangers fans have to call each other morons and start arguments with each other?. Whats going on? We're champions. We should be in the party mood. Yes, idiots will post outrageous rumours but just ignore them. We're here for rumours. Its not good logging onto this page and seeing nothing but big long arguments. Just click unbelievable to the "Messi to Rangers" etc posts and move on. Thanks. thepundit.

who wants james mcfadden at rangers? imo he is the most selfish over-rated player in scottish history. I've been going to ibrox for 20 years a know the gers fans won't put up with him.AND HE SUPPORTS THEM.

Believable2 Unbelievable9

Neil McCann supported them. And he did all right for us.McFadden is a player and no where near as highly rated as he should be.He has scored against all the big teams in EPL apart from Liverpool. And has a international goal scoring record against some big teams like Holland and France. And been on savoir in other big games. If we had another 10 McFadden, s we might have been making finals.I would love him at Rangers.Only if we played him were he should be.And that is up front and not on the wing.He still has a lot to offer he is only 28.But relax the ones that do not rate him.I do not think Rangers would pay for him.He is not on a free no more.Cos Birmingham went down.It triggered a new two year deal on his contract.

Agree5 Disagree0

We (Celtic) have thankfully said we are not interested in him, thank god. He's spent longer on the treatment table than he has on the field over the last few years. He only turns up when the camera's are on. Does either team need someone on £25k a week with dodgy knees and who'll only give you a decent shift a handful of times per season?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the reply, who you supported as a kid makes very little difference these days and McFadden would bring some great EPL experience. I agree his best position is up front but I like the fact he would give us an option to play on the left as we're short there and Lafferty is terrible when played on the left. I hadn't heard about this new contract with Birmingham though. Do you have any more info on this Ed?

{Ed010's Note - James McFadden is out of contract at Birmingham City, however they can invoke a further two year extension. This contract extension actually creates a dilema for Birmingham. If they invoke the extension, then they must pay McFadden the rate that he was earning in the EPL but obviously, next season he would be playing in the Championship. At a time when relegated clubs are trying to shave their wage bill, this would be a calculated gamble for Birmingham, for the following reason.

If they don't invoke the clause, McFadden can walk away and Birmingham get nothing in transfer fees, however if they do invoke the clause, then his transfer value suddenly increases to a seven figure sum. If any club is then willing to pay the transfer fee, then Birmingham "win a watch" but if no one wants to buy him, they will be stuck with a player, who is on high wages and will be for a further two years.

Apparently Alex McLeish has £40Million to spend it said it today, he wants Ben Foster though not sure if Birmingham will even consider doing buisness with him and Villa, so might try and get McGregor but he's always unsuccessful in trying to take Rangers best players would think he was a tim the way he goes on although he does have his own agenda. McGregor will sign a new contract he loves Rangers and he's a great goalkeeper.

I dont know if this is true or not but whyte DID say in his interview with the sun yesterday that they had made two bids (hemed and cuellar) and 2mil does seem like a likely offer.

fings-free (if we dont get cuellar.people are forgetin that he can play at cb aswell)
foster-500k (i dont think hes as bad as some people think plus he is cover for rb AND lb)
And 1 more young talented player for around 3 mil, most likely a winger or attacking mid

hiED sausage bear calling in again. everybody thinks im some kind of lap dog for hohnston and the last board at Ibrox but the truth is im a season ticket holding blue nose who only wanys the best for ther great institution that is our club. after reading the sun article from Whyte on saturday i have changed my mind on the guy..... i truly believe he has the gers at heart.. then in the news of the world today he wheels out that old smoke and mirrors vehicle that MURRAY used in times of trouble, , , .., , , , .. the Ibrox redevelopment, , , .... please Craig dont let us down .. sausage bear

{Ed010's Note -Sausage Bear, you are entitled to "support" whoever you want to my friend, both in real life and most certainly on here. No one has any right to call you anything just because your views may differ from them.

With regards to your remarks about the proposed redevelopment, in and around Ibrox, I have no doubt that this will happen, for the following reason. Craig Whyte's business is "real estate" and he already has many successful companies in that field. He is also in partnership with Andrew Ellis, another successful property developer and I have no doubt that that was one of the main reasons for their interest in buying Rangers.

Toner hemed deal back on track according to the Scottish herald rangers have improved there offer and also look set to offer whittaker a massively improved deal

{Ed010's Note -This article was written on 17th June. I have copied the relevant section from the online edition :

Whittaker set for improved deal as Hemed move revived
MICHAEL GRANT chief football writer michael.grant@heraldandtimes.co.uk

Share 17 Jun 2011

RANGERS are determined to hold on to Steven Whittaker and will offer the versatile Scotland internationalist a major pay rise in the hope it will keep him happy at Ibrox.

The Ibrox club rejected a third bid of £750,000 from Bursaspor yesterday but may have their resolve tested again if the Turks decide to make another offer close to £1m.

Rangers are gambling on the 27-year-old being happy to stay at the club after his agent received a new offer from owner Craig Whyte. The risk for Rangers is turning down money for a player who has only a year left on his contract and could leave for free next summer if an extension cannot be agreed.

Whittaker is understood to earn around £6000-per-week. Bursaspor are prepared to double that and Rangers will have to do likewise if he is to commit to staying. Ken Anderson, the player’s agent, is due to meet Rangers in the coming days and will expect to hear an offer which reflects manager Ally McCoist’s belief that Whittaker is one of the club’s four main players.

Rangers’ pursuit of Israeli forward Tomer Hemed took another twist in their favour yesterday with his agent indicating that a deal was now on course to go through. Herald Sport understands the 24-year-old had not been enthusiastic about the fact Rangers’ offer was weighted towards appearance and bonus-related pay. After further negotiations the deal was improved, meaning Hemed is now likely to sign

After losing out on Hemed and Granqvist, Rangers are gonna try and hijack Celtic's deal for Omer Damari, and will also try and sign Craig Cathcart from Blackpool.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Did we even make a bid for Granqvist??

Agree1 Disagree0

Craig Cathcart is a brilliant player, Northern Irish international, young tall and physical. Really good player would take him no bother but not sure if that would happen. Cuellar, Goodwillie, Danns & Conway would be amazing signings considering we already have the best squad man for man in the SPL.

Best SPL GK: McGregor
Best SPL CB: Bougherra
Best SPL CM: Davis
Best SPL ST: Jelavic

Could someone please explain to me what Craig Whyte plans to do to Ibrox, Is the going to knock down the big screens that don't even work.

And also is Andrew Ellis part of anything at Rangers or did he drop out(I know I am a few months late on asking this)

Believable2 Unbelievable0

"We see a mix of retail, hotels, leisure and residential.

"This area needs to be revitalised and we hope to make some progress before the Games."

Under the plans, the 40-acre site around the Govan stadium would be turned into an Ibrox village. Whyte is also adding state-of-the-art stadium screens and opening fast food outlets.

He said: "Refurbishment has already started. We are working on the fast food outlets now and expect to sign a contract to have new mega screens installed shortly."

In the NOTW today that Craig Whyte intends to develope around ibrox - this is why he bought us, to make money off making the area around ibrox 'ibrox village' state of the art mall, apartments, sports centres, sounds good. Also States the food areas at ibrox are nearly done and ranger are just about to sign a contract to get new mega screens in soon - will look good. This guy is starting to impress me now, after reading his interview he seems to have good ideas. We never got hemed, who cares! Striker isn't the top priority, hemed looked alright but not sure if better than what we have. I want a winger, a central midfielder, three defenders. Whyte said he wants value for money which I fair enough - we need to play hardball with agent etc, overpaid for players too much in the past. Hopefully we will get some new players soon. Bring on next season 'west
enclosure loyal - WATP

{Ed010's Note -I have never understood the negativity surrounding Craig Whyte. I may be proved wrong and only time will tell but until then we need to stand behind Craig Whyte and support him and Ally, no matter what.

Until this article appeared, it was all doom and gloom, surrounding Craig Whyte and his intentions. Why is that ? because of rumour and speculation. What people didn't know, they just made up, I cite the Daily Record story as the prime example but there were others, which included stories about asset stripping and a quick sale of the club, after those assets had been stripped.

Today, Craig Whyte's interview reveals a more truthful account of his intentions. Why is that ? because he is the one, who has actually stated on record, his plans for Rangers and Ibrox.

This must be a lesson for us all. We shouldn't listen to idle gossip, rumours or speculation but instead, wait for Craig Whyte to inform us, the Rangers fans of what is happening. Craig Whyte will tell keep us informed of what is happening but only when there is something to report. In the meantime, if there is a wall of silence from Mr Whyte, accept that it is because there is nothing new to report and also accept that he is working behind the scenes, to make things happen. Cheers Ed10

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I have said to any1 who would listen to me since I heard andrew ellis was first mentioned well before MR WHYTE came on board that with the commonwealth games being held in glasgow I thought this was his take on it. With him being a property developer and when u take the giro bowl only being used for opening ceremony and IBROX being used for rugby sevens there was a one way street in redevelopment on glasgow city councils part, who was in charge at the time the games were won for glasgow steven purcell manky mob fan and we know what happened to him the way ahead for these games everything was directed to to the east end of the city I noticed the games were mentioned in this article in the notw so i am not surprised this has came to light and that MR WHYTE has already spoken to council leaders about his plans he has also spoken in his interviews about the commerical side that has not been tapped into at IBROX that he thought he could take on, we have heard alot of this before from mr murray also but in my part I believe we now have the correct people on board who can carry out these plans.THE FUTURE IS BIGHT THE FUTURE IS CRAIG WHYTE

Just a thought and not a rumour or anything but listed a few players below who have left us in the past but we could realistically get back and would benefit the squad. Better to have people proven than take a chance!

Mcormack, Burke, Cuellar, Novo, Rae(squad), Stevie Smith (squad), Hutton (loan), Ferguson, Miller.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Burke has signed for Birmingham, Bif=g Ecks last singing.Rae is past it, and Aberdeen want him.We are Rangers we do not go for Aberdeen targets any more. Its not the 80ties.Novo is also past it, and not Rangers class no more.Hutton we will not get, as Villa are taking him there again.Cuellar is a no t go to, as Eck rates him.Bursopor will not sell Miller, according to there chairman. And Ferguson was meant to have had a bad affect on the dressing room.Going round thinking he was Mr Rangers. So none of those guys will be back, thank God.We can clearly do better than them.

Agree2 Disagree0

McCormack is a Celtic fan and not good enough. Burke has signed for Birmingham. Cuellar, Novo and Hutton I would love to have back but Novo would have to accept a spot on the bench. Smith and Rae are awful imo and Ferguson has a poor attitude, Miller is a money grabber.

Looking at our current squad i reckon if we sign Goodwillie and Conway and keep Weir as a squad player (could do a job against lower teams) Then all we really need to strenghten is 1 or 2 centre halfs. What do people think are the possibilities of Campbell or Woodgate signing? Like the thought of Davidson signing. The more Scottish players we can get who know what Rangers are all about the better.

Look through are squad and it's still a good strong team where we only need 3 or 4 players to freshen up and win the league again this coming season!

I am glad that we did not sign Tomer Hemed , fed up with players coming out with the same old crap that they want to sign this is because they want another club to up their offer or make an offer . Rangers should stop dealing with certain agents who are clearly using Rangers name for this purpose, hopefully the new owner etc do this , rather than the old SDM favorites .If a player really wants to sign for us they will , would be better if we could keep our business quieter and concentrate on players that want to sign .Any thoughts ?

I know the barry ferguson rumour is annoying and it was only a matter of time before it came up, but i personally would love barry back he is a brilliant player 1 of birminghams best players this year i think people forget how good he was for rangers i agree we could get younger players in but i think we could get another good season out him and i would bring him in im sure he would help bring out the best in young ness who i rate highly as a player of the future,
Billyb

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Dont be silly he has had his time here

Agree5 Disagree0

Are you also forgetting the way he ruined other players confidence with his constant whining at them[Charlie Adams prime example] and his always constantly demanding the ball and then play a negative a 2/3 yard negative pass. Not to mention the fact a return would just convince him he was more important than anyone else including Ally.

Agree3 Disagree0

I'm sorry, but anyone who has a clue about football cannot deny Barry Ferguson was, and still is a class footballer. His problem was he was TOO GOOD and tried too hard for Rangers in his second spell, he couldn't drag the below average players he was playing with up to his level. Look at his time at Birmingham, he has been man of the match most weeks, dominating against Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal among others. And to say he is the reason Charlie Adam didnt make it at Rangers is ridiculous! Smith played Adam out of positiob. End of. Walters fault, Allys fault. Not Fergusons fault. Some people are just Barry Ferguson haters and jump on the band wagon any chance they get. Not me, Barry's a legend, the best player Rangers have had in the last 12 years, period.

Thank god someones agrees with me lol he was in my opinion one of the best players in his position in the EPL last season, personally think him and davis together in the middle of the park would dominate alot of midfields even in europe

Agree1 Disagree1

How did he ruin charlie adam ? charlie adam thanked barry ferguson and said he wouldnt be the player he was if it wasntfor barry ferguson . barrys a great player ! always was a step above the spl !

Agree0 Disagree0

F*cked off and came back again then blew it by acting like a tit. Why would we want Ferguson back? he wouldnae waltz back in to midfield and he wouldnae be the captain. How long would it be before the toys were thrown out the pram? nah, he's had his time.

Anyone think we should look at Swiss Italian and Uruguayan defenders they usually have good defenders.

Firstly, this is a rumours page, how is that in any way a rumour? Secondly scouting players purely on nationality would be a joke! Scotland are known for their defensive football but would anyone want the Caldwells at Ibrox? NO...

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Actually mate this is a "banter" page he can talk about what he wants

Neil Danns - really good under-rated player, definitely EPL standard so would be great for Rangers has a bit of everything. Apparently would come to Rangers before THEM, but let's hope we don't get undone by a meer couple of grand. David Goodwillie should have been our top target from the beginning genuinly think he is a great player, young and a bluenose.

Also in NOTW today saying that Ibrox the area is getting turned into a Rangers Ibrox village with shopping centre and nice appartments, Ibrox is already a nice area but Craig Whyte wants Ibrox to remain one of the top stadias in the world and is trying to get some work done on it before 2014 games in Glasgow.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Why would he want to get the area improved before the Commonwealth games in 2014. This event only lasts a few weeks and would not be part of any investment strategy.

There was a post a day or so ago freaking out because we lost out on Hamed and proceeded to rant on about Whyte basically telling to him GTF! Outrageous! The only thing wrong with this failed deal is that the story of our interest was out so early! Why is it that no potential purchase is kept under wraps anymore? The only surprise I can recall previous was Weiss, the news came out and the deal was done immediately. Now however we seem to know weeks in advance why? At the end of the day we will have lost out on players many many times before this and most likely much better players than this. Ronaldo, Marion Jardel, even that nob Commons! This is part and parcel of the game however maybe we need to keep things under wraps better! Ed?

{Ed010's Note -You make an excellent point but in my opinion, it is not the manager's of clubs, who let the cat out of the bag. If we take the Hemed situation as an example. Hemed's agent was the one who informed the Israeli press that he was interesting Rangers and would probably fly in for talks. By revealing this interest, the agent does two things. Firstly Ally McCoist now has to admit to his interest in the player. Secondly, the agent now let's other clubs know that "his player" is available, thus encouraging other clubs to step in. This is exactly what happened in this case.

This situation happens all the time and is no fault of the managers but has everything to do with the player's agent starting a bidding war.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Spot on! Although I have never felt that these situations are the fault of managers. Cheers Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you still really believe that Rangers were in the market for Ronaldo. Come on, David Murray was found out for using the media as puppets, and gullible Rangers fans swallowed everything they were told.

Agree0 Disagree1

Commons agent told him there was no offer on the table from Rangers. When he got interviewed before the first derby.Rangers clearly did not want him.And it was paper talk.So ditch him off the list.

Really honest tho would anybody actualy accept Scott brown in a rangers team I do not rate him at all and that's just not because he plays for the scum. I remember when we signed Thomson a thought brown was the one but look now Scott brown has went no where nothing to do with loyalty it's because he's dead wood mid field meastro more like Austin meastro ie old junk....

Madjid Bougherra may see out his Rangers contract after rejecting a Mouth watering deal from Quatar champions Lekhwiya . . He snubbed the offer saying he needs to play Champions League football & lets face it no club interested in him can offer him this !!! . . source Sunday Mail

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Get him to f*** a.s.a.p Airdrie bear

Bougie has changed from a gratefull hard working talented defender to a greedy lazy average defender, now noone wants him he is happy to settle for us? I agree get him to fk

Just another who's going to regret using the Rangers as a supposed stepping stone. He be snapped up by a mid table EPL mob at best, be found out in the EPL, then warm a bench. He'll then move on a free to a french div 2 club and talk about how much he loved the Rangers. Next weeks lottery numbers will be 3 24 27 30 39 45, you heard it here first :-)

Why are we getting Gordon Smith ???? Its players we need not more of Ally's buddies and why is Ally getting to go on holiday this week he needs to get players in Come on Ally show us your the Man for the job

Believable2 Unbelievable1

This has nothing to do with Ally. This is Whyte building a back room team for the future.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's Whyte not fully trusting Ally. No need for this post when Walter was manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would you rather he took a holiday in the middle of the season? Everyone is entitled to some time off, even football managers

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith is in to run the day to day buisness side to the club. And that will leave the rest of them to deal with the football side of the club. Its a system that other big clubs in Europe have adopted for years. So do not worry about Smith. He would never get to take football decisions anyhow, having never been a boss.He probably does not even have his badges.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think smith is a great idea. He will spread our scouting system. He understands negotiations and agents and beurocracy better than anyone else in Scotland. Ally is the manager smith is the businessman

Please could we stop speculating with regards to how much money or not is available for Mr McCoist to spend. Time will tell with regards to this. The one thing I wouldnt like to see is for the club to adopt a sell before we buy policy. I believe the spine of the current squad is strong enough to make just two or three additions that will guide us to our fourth title in a row.

this is from a very reliable source within.Wont name him due to respect.

Rangers will not sign anyone in the next week unless they are bosmans/loans or low money transfers.Priority has been given to ensure the resignings of whitty, geegsy and davis. If deals for these players cant be done, expect them to go along with bougey.Once Ally knows where he stands with the above(all 3 will re-sign according to my source) and also he manages to sign the best bosmans/loans/low money signings available to Rangers, he will then try and sign 1/2 quality players .Quality players have been identified.
Also, expect a lot more change in personell over thext couple of weeks!i.e backroom staff, coaches etc. There is going to be vast major changes in the next few weeks and this is a major reason for G.smiths arrival.
lastly, dont expect any major signings until next season, after the tax case and its result.
According to my source, all this will be a good thing as for a few years now, Rangers have been hindered with this old schools act.Too many people with too much power using it to there own agenda.

Mr Whyte has some good/fresh ideas and his track record in business is 2nd to none!

Rab

Believable2 Unbelievable1

It's hard to argue with your statement as it makes sense and is put forward with intelligence. I hope your wrong on the major signings as I would like 1 this term, not necessarily one that's costs a lot of money! What is most definitely true is things will not move to any great degree until this tax cloud dissipates.

To be honest I think the goodwillie deal in the bag and we were only trying hemed for back up if we wanted him we would have got him I think I don't know I may be wrong but we have champions league footy next year aswell why would he turn down that money of course, and if ally liked him that much he would have spent..

Rangers should not let mcgregor go no matter how much money anyone offers hes signed a new contract and said he wants to stay 10million is nothin for the best keeper in the world.whos better than him? Hes better than petr cech and hed cost bout 45-50 million.just beacause we r not barca if we were a bigger club like barca teams like real, man u, chelsea, all the big boys would offer at least 80-85 million so NO aston villa

Honestly im surprised I havent read "a mate of mine was talking to lionel messi in mcdonalds and hes sign for us for £1m" im beginning to feel that theres loads of persons on here. Keep it real bears

{Ed010's Note -My friend, the only reason that you don't read anything about Messi, is that I do not publish any of the posts. I can assure you that since the end of the season, numerous posts have been submitted.

Mcoist has between 7 and 8 targets on his list and will clarify this.so why do these jackaory fans with there own ideas of players they want to sign then publicise them on this. Conway , still may happen , danns if wages can be agreed and hamed who we lost to Mallorca .deffoe, get real, those two guys from arsenal (won't na
me them as it's too Embarising )! Honestly were still tight on money so get with it!!!!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

18 Jun 2011 23:39:26
People need to chill out. Hemed obviously wanted more money than we were willing to pay. He like danns was probably wanted by McCoist to beef up the squad. Jelavic for example is only meant to be on 15 to 18 grand a week. Why give this boy 15 grand a week if he might be 3rd choice behind jelly and lafferty.

We have a strict wage structure now to keeps us living within our means. We cannot compete with la liga or the premiership.

Let's trust coisty and whyte to get on with making it 4 in a row!!
