ed see the rangers reserve team that won tonight other than the players that we have seen like aird are any of the player ones that we could be looking forward to seeing {Ed001's Note - if the manager picks them.}

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Naw ed a mean is any of the players ment to be could and might go on to be good for the first team {Ed001's Note - none that I am aware of as being seen as close to the 1st team. Those that are have had the odd chance.}

Agree1 Disagree1

I was at the game tonight and thought the young centre midfield player Andy Murdoch looked very good. Still only 17 but in time and if he gets stronger/bigger he looks a player

Agree2 Disagree8

@2 did anybody else catch your eye, or just the one lad? as a matter of interest as this seems to be on the agenda right now, who was in goal?

JG

Agree0 Disagree6

@3 The Right Centre Half also looked quite good (Luca Gasparotto - Canadian). He scored the second goal and looked good in the air and on the deck. Only 17 also

Lets stop getting our knickers in a twist over a rumour, leaked or otherwise, If the Chairman, and the CEO don't see eye to eye, it will go through a proper process, things will be tetchy for a while, as we are not out of the woods, visa vi, the tax case appeal by HMRC. let's just keep a sense of perspective, keep backing the team, and stop all the hissy fits about who said what about who. Rangers the team come first, we will walk before we can run, so be patient. Always a Rangers.

Believable10 Unbelievable27

Johnson v Whyte not that long ago, ring any alarm bells?

Agree19 Disagree6

What a daft post. Of course rangers come first that's why it must be found out what caused this. This could affect investment and sponsorship, that what divisions in a company do.

Agree11 Disagree2

This is the kind of easy going denial nonchalance that saw fans sleep walk into oblivion last year.

Agree15 Disagree2

Why listen to all the rumours, our bed is made so we must live with the situation. It was never going to be easy and things will get worse before it gets better. We must be patient and live with the dips. We must stick together [ though the road be broad or narrow it's follow we will. ] Always remember that message has helped us be the best in Scotland. Because we are the best others will nit pick and try to cause division. Yes, certain individuals are in it for the cash, but there was no option because the ''real'' rangers men would not invest when it mattered.
I still say that dm and cw will get what they deserve, in time so I call on the ''Rangers money men'' who didn't stand up in the past, to grow a pair and they could be legends as well.

Isn't this what happened with Green at Sheffield United? Boardroom split. Share price fell. Then he left.

Who would you guys trust more Green or Malcolm Murray?

Agree19 Disagree2

Trust Malcolm more - rangers man and good reputation.

Green - not rangers, and horrible history of running companies, floatations and football club (sheffield united) into the ground.

Malcolm speaks little, but makes sense. Looking to long-term.

Green talks too much and talks pish. All about short-term, burning bridges, moving to other league.

Expect green plans to gamble his money ( most of which he got back already) on no-loose - sue, or long-shot (rangers in new league, epl challenge).

Agree17 Disagree2

Beware of anything to do with sheffield united.

Agree4 Disagree5

@7 why. google charles green sheffield untied, there is a fans'eye view of his time, scary stuff.

Agree5 Disagree1

There won't be english league entry, its all rubbish. if green took them to court they could change their system and incorporate more leagues into the system. as it stands there are 3 non-league divisions to get through before 4th tier entry. higher entry isn't possible as there is huge competition at all levels to progress. there are maybe 300 clubs in england bigger than current sfl 3. the old county of lancashire has a higher population than scotland and more football clubs including some of the biggest in the world, why would they want greens fantasies?

Agree5 Disagree2

19 Feb 2013 16:38:33
this whole thing with green is about to descend into a total farce - how many times is this going to happen?? If we had decent supporters groups we could've got Ibrox ourselves from D&P for next to nothing last year and started from scratch in a more credible way than green has done. all avenues of income are being milked and my emphasis is on milked. If Whyte had thought out the box he'd be having a field day asset stripping and what green is doing makes Whyte look like a saint on a white charger. It's a disgrace.

Believable36 Unbelievable14

If Green gets rid of Murray (using Jabba and KJ) who will be next? Dissenting voices on boards are not dealt with by ultimatums. Dissenting voices are listened to and respected otherwise you have a nodding Thatcher cabinet!

The Chairman can sack the CEO with a motion of no confidence.

Agree29 Disagree5

The buck stops with the supporters, all had their chance and adopted an attitude that a bigger force should deal with it. This conformist attitude has to be banished.

Agree16 Disagree10

Green is serial liquidation - too many of his floats gone this way.

But we KNOW fans are rock solid, so put money into a fan org, and get that to either build fund or buy shares.

without FANS no-one can do anything, FANS need to be more in control maybe 25% and controlling seat on board. so we KNOW what's happening.

FANS have power.

Agree4 Disagree4

Why do we never hear any of the supporters organizations say a word when all the alarm bells are ringing

They seem obsessed by toadying to the powers that be - always looking to be the most servile.
Leadership is a foreign concept

We are in real danger of sleepwalking over another clif

Agree9 Disagree1

4. Absolutely 100% spot on mate.

This season Rangers have shown we have some of the finest fans in the world. but we also have some of the worst servile yes men as fan's representatives.

Malcolm Murray is as far as we know a Rangers fan since childhood. He also is a respected member of the financial industry who promised transparency in all dealings concerning Rangers. When he was brought in the reasons given were his reputation and contacts in the world of investments. So far Mr Murray has not looked for or encouraged publicity. So why now? What has he misgivings about? Is there moves behind the scenes that might tarnish his reputation, moves that might be a problem for Rangers? James Traynor was quick to blog about how Rangers will fight any press that is untrue, has there been a cheep from him yet? This has been leaked by Mr Green, no doubt, but to what end? An escape route? Standing down for the good of Rangers? Something is just not right here.

Believable29 Unbelievable7

Too much loos talk from green about joining epl, or never returning to SPL, or sue-ing every body, or "buying 3,000 tickets for club in SPL to get thier vote". (is that bribery?)

green is tarnishing rangers name.

no wonder Murray unhappy.

Celtic fan here I must say and I'm sure the majority of Rangers fans won't agree but Charles Green is making Rangers a laughing stock and slowly undoing his intial good work to me he is now dragging your club thru the gutter surely his recent antics are an embarresment to your once great club.

Believable32 Unbelievable17

It's franchise it's not the same club; even the board of directors have stated that this is the case.

Agree25 Disagree22

I got to agree bears, him and traynor make the club look amateurish, where have you standards gone too?

Agree19 Disagree14

Got to agree with the three posters above our standards have dropped abysmally. my only concern is if we drop them much further we will be on a par with those displayed by Celtic.

Isn't accounts normally completed as at 31st March or 1st April?
Would Green leave before first set of accounts?
Does anyone believe he has always wanted to stick to his initial stated plan? Share issue, make money, leave.

Believable38 Unbelievable2

Whichever director in the boardroom has leaked this to KJ deserves the sack for this negative story about the club.

Agree17 Disagree18

I think the rules are different for a ltd company. yearly is the norm.

Agree7 Disagree7

@1 Instead of slating the director YOU should be on demanding answer's from this guy, instead of following him like sheep.
Tam

Agree23 Disagree5

1# think outside the box mate. Jackson is Traynors pal, you really think this was not leaked by Green? My worry is Green has started to work to a new agenda, Murray has questioned it and the power struggle starts now.

Agree22 Disagree1

Ltd is first between 12mth-18mth, then yearly thereafter.

Agree4 Disagree0

I think Green pulled Jabba and KJ strings on this. But there's an alterior motive and both Jabba/ KJ will be left as many times before looking stupid and used.

Tabloid hacks creating and controlling news instead of reporting it. Utterly ridiculous.

Agree18 Disagree0

Anyone should question why Mr green kept ally as manager because it wasn't for his management skills he was a good PR for white and a great 1 for green, think there us trouble ahead maybe even the end of rangers, sick and tired of it all now.

Agree20 Disagree6

Number one I don't believe anybody said anything to kj I do not believe any of this shyte

Chuckie v's Murray. Let the "Bun Fight" begin! Murray has the class and integrity the Chuckster is a worried man.

Believable28 Unbelievable3

Has Charles found an exit strategy?
Maybe a good thing if he has. He delivered the share issue but the rest of his 'pie in the sky' stuff is a bit of a joke and even he must realise this.
Murray made an effort to show some remorse at least and should be given a chance to rebuild relations with the rest of Scotland. He will bring a bit of realism to the situation and start cutting the cloth accordingly.
It's going to be carnage if Green stays, it's sounding more and more like a dictatorship (with his propaganda henchman in tow) - Was this not one of the things he pledged to eradicate?
It won't be too pretty what he's left either but I'm sure the real fans will unite even more given some truth and reality that survival is what it's about and not some bull about Champions League and casinos.

Malcolm Murray's first day, June 2012.

"It is my firm intention to ensure high standards of transparency and probity are adopted and the club will be managed with a prudent long-term strategy avoiding the fiefdoms and excesses of the past. "

So Charlie now doesn't agree?

Must say, I'd trust Malcolm Murray a whole lot more than Charles Green any day of the week.

Agree23 Disagree3

Green driving down the share price to pick up the short fall like he said he would. he did the same with his lab test company. fasten your seat belts lads!

Agree15 Disagree2

Was there a rumour recently that M Murray wanted to talk with Dermot Desmond?

Agree10 Disagree6

Problem is how many times has green stood down, only for company to collapse soon after he leaves,, 5 - 6 times?

Agree16 Disagree1

Don't forget Murray has always been a Rangers man I would trust him before Green who admitted he came to us to make money and conned a lot of poeple that he's changed his mind. Murray brought the investors to the table not Green wonder whose idea it was to employ Traynor, who has suddenly changed his coat have we forgotten all the headlines he wrote against our club over the last 18 months I haven't and he has the red neck to accuse other scribes of what said about our club there was nobody as bad as he was. Beware the association between himself and Green. This does not bode well for us.

Alexander's 5k drop a week is say 20k a month or 80k up to mid June.
Jabba said 400k for Orlit was an insignificant small sum. So why target Alexander for a fifth of that?

Something doesn't add up.

Believable25 Unbelievable5

We shouldn't be paying that kind of wage outside of the SPL?! Why is it so hard for people to get to grips with that? He stayed with us and yes he has been a good servant, BUT if he wants to continue with Rangers @ 35 years of age then he needs to take a pay cut. Earning 5k a week in the 2nd/1st division is brilliant! Some Motherwell players are on 1k a week. It's ludicrous to be paying over the odds. I hope he stays, but sense has to prevail.
Coisty09

Agree13 Disagree5

I have a good idea, bump black and sandaza caus e both are useless and give both their wages to keep Alexander.

Agree9 Disagree4

Black 7k, templeton 8k shiels 7k and the killer cribari 10k! these are guesses of course, but going by here say are not far away. In the door five minutes and Coisty 09 thinks their wage is ok?

Agree6 Disagree0

So let's get this straight, the ones who left old co are traitors and the heroes that stayed are now being greedy?

Agree8 Disagree1

Black & Cribari should both be booted out the door.
Shiels, Templeton & Wallace are our best players (on their day).
Alexander is 35, a GK on 10k a week Its pointess as over the next couple of years our outfielders should be walking the matches making a GK job easy to command his box and keep the ball out when needed. 5k a week is an excellent wage for a 35yr old GK playing outwith or even IN the SPL at anytime. As the above poster said the wages he states are GUESSES. A goalkeeper can be brought in from another team on 2k a week. It's a business that we are trying to re-structure so we live within our means. There are Junior goalkeepers out there who could play for 1k a week and do the same job as Alexander over next couple years. He will not be there when we get back to SPL so why not get someone on cheaper wages and give them a chance over next 2yrs. Its ridiculous you want to pay anything above 5k a week to anyone outwith SPL. When Black, Cribari, Shiels, Sandaza etcc all signed we had a couple of weeks to get some players in of the best quality possible. They had the bargaining power then to ask for more money as they had dropped down divisions. Alexander does not have that bargaining power. Again, I think he is a decent keeper, good servant but 5k is a fantastic wage to be on @ Rangers. Coisty09

Agree3 Disagree5

Ally got his budget and spent it like any manager. They were his targets and he approved the wages.
Green says Ally has another £10m+ lined up.
Why is everyone knocking Ally's spend strategy?

Agree3 Disagree7

Op you are missing the big picture
the drop in wages for alexander was for a new contract 2 or three years whatever it was, so 5k x 104 or 156 weeks is the saving to be made, that's upwards of 1/2 million quid

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

@7 Naw your missing the big picture, they want the man to take the drop NOW, not at the end of his contract, try to keep up
Tam

Hi Ed, Do you not think that it's Best for Rangers to start capping the wage structure. say top wage 5k per week (max). with a 1500 win Bonus, I Bet this would sort the lazy players out once & for All. Too many guys turning up each week & Not producing the Goods as far as I'm concerned. Remember were we are These days. Time to Get Real. 6500 to win each week, There's some Good players out there that would Bite your Hand Off for that Money. Just a Thought!

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Op - I think what we are seeing now is that players who stayed with the club were rewarded accordingly with the contracts they received then and new players were attracted by good offers,
now when contracts come up for renewal expect wages to be set at a more realistic level according to the division we are playing in, which is what we are seeing with Alexander.

JG

Agree3 Disagree2

JG# while I admire loyalty you seem to have taken things to another level. I have never seen you agree to any question or criticism of the current regime at Ibrox. Black was struggling to find a club, you really think it needed that much to bring him on board? He was on around £1500 a week at hearts I would have thought double that would have got him. Same with Shiels, on roughly £2000 with Killie, again double that and he would have signed. temps is maybe a bit different, but again there was not any great rush to sign him, and he was on around £1000 a week. But by far the worst is Cribari, a pal told me he had heard he is on £10,000 PER WEEK! So by your logic a fortune will have been played to players, but on their new contracts you think they will all take a pay cut? That leaves a whole new squad to be bought, signing on fees as well, and new wages. Just does not make sense.

Agree3 Disagree1

@2 you are right, I may not be very critical of the current management team at rangers right at this time, but I sure am thankful for now that they are there, or else the scenario that many outside of the rangers wanted, may have happened, you may be included in that or you may not

for me the time to tell will come at the first AGM,
Let there be no doubts though, I am fully aware of the principal motive for this consortium taking on rangers football club, they saw a great business oportunity to make money anybody who thinks otherwise is not in touch with reality,

anyway back to the discussion, you are asking if I think all players will take a pay cut, I never said that

what I said was

they will be offered a new contract when the time comes and that new offer will be more realistic according to the division we are in at the time and could even be on a sliding scale, the players don't have to accept it, many players in clubs all over the world don't accept what they are offered, they then become free agents and leave, it has happened before it will happen again with rangers
I am however slightly surprised that everyone seems to know so much detail about the players wages though, in my own experience any contract I have had has been confidential between me and my employer but it appears that rangers are not entitled to any confidentiality any longer and every small detail of the business must be out in the public domain, I know of no other business which is run like that
