Isn't it amazing how Brown and Armstrong were fit enough to play for Septic tonight but not for Scotland a few days ago. Serves them right though they are a goal down already!

18 Oct 2017 20:59:02
who cares?

18 Oct 2017 21:05:08
They are clearly unfit lol!

18 Oct 2017 21:26:20
So what's the headline in the daily scragbag tomorrow then after that kak performance tonight against Bayern. "Celts unlucky in Munich" pml 😭

18 Oct 2017 21:40:46
Who cares, boring. I canny wait till we are back getting beat in the champions league, then stroll it to the uefa cup final, or whatever they call it now.

18 Oct 2017 22:09:01
It's as boring as that sh&te you call opinion that slates the team and manager when someone farts in the wrong direction

18 Oct 2017 22:43:25
The Scotland game was 10 days ago mate! You seriously questioning browns loyalty to Scotland?!

18 Oct 2017 23:10:21
Celtic will be back in their comfort zone when they play the ross countys of this world and brown can walk about with his chest out again as he is back at his level

19 Oct 2017 02:00:38
Barry Ferguson use to do the same to be fair mate

19 Oct 2017 02:01:08
It'll say the same thing as it does when we play your club, bigger better team won.

19 Oct 2017 02:06:03
Both missed Celtic games during their injuries too DOIGER but that doesn't go with the agenda does it?

19 Oct 2017 09:19:51
Your team may be better Bhampot but ours is bigger and will always be. I can claim this as we are the world's most successful club.

19 Oct 2017 09:05:32
Lego, are you referring to your favourite food with that name. It seems as though you are a celtic fan with that response. Dafty.

19 Oct 2017 15:29:24
The Seeker, when Rangers went into admin the trophy tally was 92-115, its now 102-115 if and when we go past your total will you concede you aren't the bigger club or will you find some other justification? I'm presuming trophies are the be all and end all, not revenue, gates, that small trifling matter called money in the bank?

19 Oct 2017 15:31:16
Seeker - Al Hilal of Egypt are the worlds most recognized club.

Celtic in relation to your inaccurate remark have:

Bigger Capacity Stadium
Bigger Support
Worldwide Appeal (Rangers cannot even fulfill a tiny commitment in Canada)
Bigger financial clout
Better Squad
Europe's biggest trophy as part of our history
Participation in Champions League
Don't need handouts to meet payroll every 3 months.

the list goes on

19 Oct 2017 17:26:32
In Spain on me holiers! Lots of posts from the pathetic lot on here today? Did they get thumped again? If course that's why there on here greetin their eyes out

20 Oct 2017 07:26:15
Aye Brian. As always they are looking for somebody to blame for the latest shame. 3 goals going on 10. Embarrassing to say the least.

20 Oct 2017 07:28:06
Al Hilal? What are you on about? I'm older than they are! How does 44 trophies beat 115?

Naby Keita

18 Oct 2017 19:24:56
{Ed's Note - we have posted a new player profile about, Naby Keita

19 Oct 2017 10:32:54
I'm sure they did miss games for Celtic bhampot but with the level of opposition in Scotland Rodgers clearly left them out, saving them for Munich (lol - that worked! ) . Never mind, when you drop into the Europa League (Anderlecht couldn't even play in our Championship they are that bad) you will have easier teams to think about (AC Milan, Arsenal, Everton, Zenith St Petersburg, Cologne, Athletic Bilbao, etc, etc) .

19 Oct 2017 15:30:22
So Brown limps off on September 27, misses the Hibs game that weekend, the Scotland games and then the Dundee game all to be saved for a game on October 18, aye okay DOIGER.

18 Oct 2017 16:29:26
Millers agent is not doing him any favours. Miller has been useless this season and played like he had something on his mind, i can't help thinking if he is innocent, he should be coming out and telling his agent to shut up. My feeling is his agent is trying to get him a transfer in January. The agent has only got money on his mind, and it is HIM who is ruining the players reputation by acting like a chump.

18 Oct 2017 18:26:39
getting a bit cheesed off with all this garbage about miller,
if the club or pedro has done wrong which i don't think they have then let's move on, if not let him leave, won't be missed on this seasons effort

18 Oct 2017 21:41:32
He will sign for killie or hibs and be determined to bang a power in against us.

18 Oct 2017 22:30:12
Supercoop said a rumour about a swap with moult, sounds to me that the agent is trying to orchestrate a move away. There's is definitely aggro between miller and ped. Otherwise this would have been quashed a while ago.

18 Oct 2017 14:04:08
Kenny Miller's at the wrong end of his career to allow his agent act in the way he has. This is a guy in his third spell at the club and has come and gone in sync with the trends of the professional game. So far this season, he's been gash and if mouthing off and going in the huff is the way he wants to deal with it, he can take his free transfer to Hibs to sit on the bench.

18 Oct 2017 14:13:27
When has he gone in a huff or shouted his mouth off?

If his agent feels that he has been treated unfairly and is asked about it, why should he lie?

Kenny has done nothing but maintain silence over this so your post is utter tosh.

18 Oct 2017 14:57:16
Top professional IMO. Has given our club great service and deserves better.

18 Oct 2017 16:02:16
Well said @theblueblazer. some people have short memories

18 Oct 2017 17:39:06
So when has Pedro or TW club come out and said that Kenny was the leak? In fact, when have either spoken about it? They haven't at all. The agent is the only person to have come out and shout about it. Could he be the leak?

19 Oct 2017 13:02:57
Kennys agent acts on behalf of him though. His agent has ended his rangers career in my opinion.

18 Oct 2017 14:03:30
According to the BBC Sport website gossip section, they are reporting that the S*n states that Alan Brazil says the Rangers supporters would welcome back Mike Ashley because we are dissulusioned with the present board. Oh Yeh? I would not want him back for 1, am I on my own on this?

18 Oct 2017 14:44:12
I never understand these articles, they always say things like majority of fans think this. Well I must be in the minority all the time cause I always disagree with them. Clowns.

18 Oct 2017 15:03:31
Typical Talk Sport. Spout some controversial nonsense and get people arguing about it. Oops. It seems to have worked.

18 Oct 2017 18:30:16
brazil just mouths drivel, would not listen to him or taksport

18 Oct 2017 22:31:59
Not a chance!

18 Oct 2017 13:16:33
Well one of the only good things about the great unwashed making the group stages of the champions league last year is the we check for 375000 dropping into Ibrox today.

18 Oct 2017 15:46:20
Yes we are a charitable lot and you do need the money lol.

19 Oct 2017 01:45:05
That's approximately 1.25% of the revenue into the Celtic coffers from qualifying for the group stages.

I haven't factored in the revenue from the progress tie

18 Oct 2017 11:50:27
Hi Guys thanks for all the posts, now for my next question.
Only 275,000 watched the last old firm game on TV, that's 145,000 less then the Sheffield derby the following day (according to Alan Brazil) . So how do we resurrect Scottish football when a significant percentage of our largest supporting groups don't watch each other on TV. I would watch Aberdeen and the rest (celtic maybe to far unless up against good quality) if I was in for a good skillful game. Most Scottish games are pretty poor hence low crowds and TV audiences. i'm not going to mention the cliche grass roots. I would blame the clubs and respective managers/ coaches for negative boring football. When Nathan Oduwa flicked the ball over the head of that Alloa player and there was outrage, that says it all for me, we have lost sight of what football should be all about skill that makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. So my challenge is to name any Scottish player that we love to watch because we can't wait to see what he does, eg. Baxter, Cooper, Laudrup, Walters. We have decent players that are capable, they need to be told when in a safe area try nutmeg the players, try a overhead kick from 45 yrds out, practice tricks and get them on the pitch, Wes- try a scorpion kick, aright to far but its the only way to get the crowds back and TV money if its good to watch. that's my opinion, anyone else got any ideas on how to solve this, ask yourself what would make you sit down with a beer and watch 90 mins of Hamilton V Dundee apart from 2 broken legs and a frozen Sky box.

18 Oct 2017 12:11:07
be careful with what you read. I'm pretty sure those figures were for only 1 channel when it was shown on 2

there was also a PL game on at the time

18 Oct 2017 13:13:13
i still think the old one about a bigger league would make a difference. ross county v killie three/ four times a season. jesus christ 😕

18 Oct 2017 13:19:24
Scottish football needs under 21 league back so the young lads can get out on the pitch and play football instead of watching it or playing ps4 at the weekends also half of the smaller clubs should join forces with local team be 1 sell a ground to housing raise cash to buy better players the way inverness did few years ago

18 Oct 2017 13:29:16
Spl 1 and spl 2 put them together only make two leagues give we teams a chance

18 Oct 2017 14:00:41
If you want to sell the game for tv up here. Then the easy answer is make it a summer league. Will help teams in europe, will fill the gaps sky sport/ bt have during the summber months, will make going to the games more enjoyable, rather watch a game in the sun than the driving rain. More people will pop along to the local teams when there teams is playing away matches. Make the game enjoyable for the fans at matches and the game wanted by broadcasters. You might even find we can get more money from tv. Simples.

18 Oct 2017 14:02:07
I wouldn't pay too much attention to those figures. Did they count all those who watched it in pubs and clubs. I certainly much prefer watching the games in the company of others if i'm not there in person.

18 Oct 2017 20:25:31
The solution to this problem is pretty simple and it is basically money. We need to spread all income fairer. Including gate receipts, TV money and especially European money. Celtic (and rangers when we get back to CL) can pocket up to £30M from UEFA alone - how can you expect to have a decent league when one team has a budget probably somewhere like 5000% of those in the same league (and don't get me started on sporting integrity) . Say for example of that money £20M was shared between the other clubs, the likes of motherwell and even Aberdeen wouldn't have to sell their best players. They would be able to keep them and build better teams and this improving the quality of the league. Dead simple. Why were teams like Aberdeen and Dundee united good on the early 80's - because the gate money was an even split. It isn't rocket science. Spread the wealth more and we will make more!

18 Oct 2017 21:11:58
zikos

you want celtic to give away £20m of their £30m earnings from the champions league?

no one in their right mind would do that if it gives other clubs the chance to beat them in the league.

eg celtic share out their winnings and we spend our share on a new striker who scores loads of goals meaning we win the league. celtic come 2nd so only go into europa meaning they will earn less. and then Rangers decide they don't want to share their wealth from the champions league

19 Oct 2017 01:52:02
Hi STYAB, The EPL gets 8.3 Billion over 3 years Tv money. At the moment we get 18.75 million (30 when all items are factored in) . We sit 18th in terms of revenue from tv money in Europe behind Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Denmark, Greece and Turkey. Its hard to ignore, we need tv/ advertising money its how the game is funded unfortunately. The next deal is prob around the 33 million mark which may go to 50 when all is added up but still we lag behind. Something has to change if we want to compete at the highest level long term.

19 Oct 2017 01:56:46
@TJBB - if you take it as a percentage, then 4% of Scotland tuned in to the Old Firm game whilst less than 1% of England tuned into the Sheffield derby.
Also factor in economic, illegal downloads and people going to the pub to watch the match then of course viewing figures will have declined.

19 Oct 2017 02:06:16
Great idea Zikos had Rangers spread the wealth they wouldn't have owed Lloyds so much money and might not have used EBT's (or perhaps they could have spread them league wide too? ) And then come administration we could have divided the 276 creditors by all 12 clubs as we sat around the campfire singing We Are The World. Are you one of the folk who thought the Universal credit hotline charging 55p a minute wasn't enough?

19 Oct 2017 08:18:36
Zikos get a grip so teams that are successful and make money have to give it to others nonsense. Remember when chris robinson was in charge at hearts they sold players got a big deal with smg it totaled £12.5m they spent £1.4m on players the board gave themselves payrises, within a year the club was skint. Look at the folk we have had in, the Kelly's at celtic. No danger would I invest in any of those regimes. When we went down they threw the book at us, when my local team Livingston went into administration they were relegated to the bottom league, it seems that people pick and choose their punishments and who they punish so it would be no different about who would have to pay and how much they pay. I'm sure Aberdeen, hibs, hearts, Dundee utd and the likes would want from the old firm but be very reluctant to hand out their own profits if they have any.

{Ed001's Note - one of the main reasons for the English league success is that money is shared out very equitably. That is why Spanish teams are now looking to copy the model in la liga.}

19 Oct 2017 09:30:22
Thanks Ed, I think you actually get my point. The point being the only way to get a better TV deal is to make our product more enviable, to raise the profile of ALL clubs not just rangers and Celtic. Why does the EPL get such an amazing deal - because it is the most competitive league in the World, why is that? Because they have a fairer share of the wealth. Gary75 made a good point in that you would need to ensure the money is spent on infrastructure and playing squad/ staff but shouldn't be that difficult to regulate. In regard to Rangers and Celtic - yes short term it wouldn't be in their best interest but long term it would. We would be able to command better TV deals and clubs in Europe might actually be able to compete. Celtic or Rangers wouldn't have to go into Europe unprepared (easy game after easy game) and might actually get past the group stage. We might even get two teams in the CL as the likes of Aberdeen and St. Johnstone do well in the Europa league raising the co-efficient. Don't think short term think long term. Only one country in the world would make their only representative in a European final play something like 7 games in 18 days. Where does it get us?

19 Oct 2017 15:32:33
I just love that Rangers fans are getting all equitable when they are on their uppers. Not a word said about this during 9iar but like the seating of the Broomloan, suddenly it's an issue, it's laughable. What about living within your means wouldn't that be a good first step towards equity, where do you stand on that zikos?

The one thing often forgotten (deliberately) about the 2008 season is that Rangers requested AND GOT a postponed game earlier in the season in preparation for a European team, your domestic cup manager was the special one AKA McCoist which may explain the 2 Scottish cup draws you had which added further to your fixture misery. That night you drew with Partick at Ibrox

I remember thinking they are actually better losing this, a draw is a disaster. So poor results and an earlier postponement caused the end of your season as much as anything else. And besides when we agree on a season ending date etc etc, isn't that equitable and fair? Your mask is slipping zikos.
