Never got a chance to see the game tonight, lads, but a good result regardless of teams played! Don't read to much into a friendly though eh? for all we know dalgleish told them to take it easy and just have a run around! I've heard McKay did himself proud, but I'm interested to hear how the likes of Fleck and the other youngsters did. Anyone enlighten me? Muzz

According to clyde 1 tonight, one of the journalists (MARK GUIDI) claims that having spoken to ibrox insiders who he says are very reliable, that rangers could enter administration as early as the end of next week. Some of my fellow bluenoses seem to be burying their heads in the sand and refusing to believe that a club of our stature could go intp administration. It is almost certain to be the case!

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Look lets stop this nonsense about reliable sources said this and said that lets wait till the day it happens on then if there is a problem we will find the solution to resolve it But lets stay positive and less of the negativity As it says on the badge of Rangers (READY) and thats what we will be fellow fans GERman

Some of the poster should take a wee reality check. Never read anything into a friendly. We should know after the friendly's we played in Germany. Don't get me wrong the boys done well tonight against a top side. But never read anything into a friendly. I think we had 8 different players that started against St Mirren on Saturday and probably Liverpool had about the same. But it just shows that everyone of those Rangers player are pulling in the same direction as Ally. We are doing good for a club that's in the lime light for non football matters. We might be hogging the front pages with non football matters But the most importing thing is we make the back pages for how well our team and manager is doing. That's the most importing thing after all.

Good exercise from Rangers there, watched the full game. Played really well with a reserves team and would have generated some money. Matt McKay looks really impressive and no injuries with Salim Kerkar looking alot better than he had done previously. Good game overall and good result, just letting the bears know who didn't get to see the game for whatever reason. WATP.

Liverpool played there reserves, Rankers played most of there first team!

We beat a wanna be top 4 prem team 1-0. For the people who says we wouldn't cope there think again {Ed001's Note - it was only a friendly! Sheesh don't get carried away by beating a second string side please. There is the world of difference between beating a side in a one off match and beating them over a league season. Given time, both Rangers and Celtic have the fanbase to compete with any team, but right now neither have the quality required to compete.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Ever wonder Liverpool got there pants pulled down over Andy Carrol lol I mean 35 million?? David Villa cost 34!! I know who id rather have
dmrangers

Agree3 Disagree0

What you've got to remember Ed001 that was our second string that more or less started the game and our youth that finished the game. It was the same for liverpool that started the game but finished with more or less your first team. But you never read anything into a friendly or do we?
Followfollow81 {Ed001's Note - more or less a first team? Without the 3 main players it is nothing like a first team mate. It was a friendly, just a chance to get some players back to match fitness for Liverpool, I don't think it can be used as any kind of yardstick to determine how well Rangers would do in the EPL.}

Agree1 Disagree0

A second string team Ed? Rangers had a back four of Whittaker, Broadfoot, Weir and Wallace. Yes it was a friendly so no getting carried away but Rangers had a far weaker ''second string'' team than Liverpool. & we made more substitutes and dominated possession. Matt McKay is impressive on a positive note. Rangers till I die, win lose or draw! {Ed001's Note - you have a far weaker second string, that is all it was! Yes Rangers were by far and away the better side, but it was a friendly to get players fit.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Dmrangers it wasn't Liverpool that paid £35m for Andy Carroll it was Chelsea. They got Suarez and Carroll £50m not bad bit of business if you ask me. Big Carroll will come good. I said to Ed001 last night they shoul send him up to us on loan. It would do him good only if Liverpool pay his wages.
Followfollow81

Agree2 Disagree1

Your right ed but to be honest it was Liverpool playing Rangers reserves. They were just pish! {Ed001's Note - hardly, Liverpool had a lot of players coming back from injury playing, Coates has never started etc. Carroll is on the bench more than the pitch. I could go on but I can't be bothered.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I never said anything about the EPL Ed. I never read anything into friendly's mate. It was a good amount of Liverpool fans that came up for the game. I hope the enjoyed being at the one of the best stadium's in Scotland if not Britain.
Followfollow81 {Ed001's Note - I wasn't meaning you mate, it was the original post, I was dreading this game following its announcement to be honest. I knew if Rangers lost there would be a bunch of English fans coming on saying how crap Rangers are and how they should never get in the EPL. But if you didn't lose there were going to be a load of Rangers fans saying how it proves they can cope in the EPL. The only thing that will ever prove if you can cope is if it ever happens, then we will know.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct Ed.....Liverpool could have played there first team and destroyed rangers tonight. They didn't take it seriously:

Doni- never plays
Wilson- reserve left back at best/was talk of a loan away.
Coates- Youngster first full start
Bellamy only purchased to finish games not start them
Carroll- Benchwarmer

Where were Reina, Enrique, Carragher, Gerrard, Suarez, Skrtel?

DazzaBhoy

Dazzabhoy, hows your team doing, AHHHHHHH THATS RIGHT 3RD.

Raab you's played all your new signings, McKay, Bedoya and Ortiz! New signings should be brought in to make a difference to the team, not be reserves!

With the documentary not even been screened,why has mr whyte resorted to an all out ban on the bbc?Is mr whyte running scared of the bbc incase he is portrayed in a bad light (rightly or wrongly)?With mr whyte and co being very secretive regarding the club i find it strange that the fans will hear more from a bbc documentary about the club than the current owner.Perhaps fans may get answers to questions the new regime ignore.I for one welcome this documentary and so should most bears whether it be good news or bad news,draw your own conclusions after the programme and not before....seems mr whyte has drawn his already,interesting months ahead.

Bears read the article on your own Newsnow Rangers, entitled Administration by Halloween.
Mr "billionaire" Whyte has not got the money to keep going until January transfer window.
By the way if you think it is only 10 points deduction and nothing else, think again, it could lead to transfer embargos, no company giving Rangers credit including the bank, your reputation would nose dive oh and what a MASSIVE lift to us Celtic fans. God bless the HMRC and thank you Mr Murray for your inept handling of tax issues. Timalloy

Look Timalloy you and that lonely brain cell of yours is that all you can talk about is HMRC we do appreciate your concern about the Mighty Gers but after watching that drivel at the weekend your team has more problems on the field than we do of them so if i was you i would go back to your own page and try and resolve the problems your team is having on the field and if we do get points deducted thats the only way you will win the League and to add your soooooooo booooring with your infatuation with the tax man you really need to get a life if you cant come on this page with something to say constructive stick to your own manky mob. See if it was Celtic in rangers shoes uses would be saying the same.

Least when we won the leagues/cups etc it was all above board.

As for the bbc today, it's just another bit to the jig saw, said earlier I won't gloat until its black & white but it's all falling into place ? When/if it comes back that rangers were on the wrong or right I will be on here giving every rangers fans it tight saying a told u so or on the back hand I'll happy come on here & take all the flack n say a was wrong 'if' they get away with it.

Love u all as always & looking forward to November :)

Oh Lenny been at your spelling course have we or is your spellchecker working now. Got to ask whats this we won our cups and leagues above board the last league title you lot won was gift wrapped and handed to you because of game scheduling and some of the most dodgy decisions in scottish football history? This the same old excuses coming back again.

Is Lenny ur name likes?? Or is that your hero?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah it's my name believe it or not.

My hero is Craig white, buys the debt for £1 then pays 15million the bank gets his team out of CL & Europa & a Scottish cup tax case that's going to crush him, 3/4 members of the old board ring fence his money which Is between 2/3million a tax case worth 50 million & now he bans the BBC.

Lennon might be making a bum of him self but least we will still be around by Xmas, even If we punt him least we can afford to bring someone in.

Craig white, a Celtic fan at heart.

Lenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Look Lenny its you thats a Gers fan at heart cause your never of this damn Gers forum so dont say Craig Whyte is a fan of the manky mob. Every time you come on this page its always about the tax man so bloody what let us worry about our affairs and you lot worry about your own problems whats liewell promises for January a big fat Zilch i suppose at least the percentage of Gers fans that come on this page will support our club financially so my advice to you before coming on the Gers forum have something constuctive to say. Craig Whyte doesn't take nonsense from anybody and obviously as Rangers supporters we have all the respect in the world for John Greig but I don't see anything wrong with his resignation because it's not like he contributed much to the club? All he did was get involved in some off field activity and go to the matches? Correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't see much of a loss with the two directors who have resigned. I'm sure the future's bright after the tax case is resolved and holds NO liability to the champions, there will always be a Rangers, sadly for the runners-up.

anyone agree with me that it's time Whyte came clean and admitted he has bitten off more the he can chew. He should eat humble pie and put the club on the market for a buyer with REAL allegiance to the club and REAL money.
There are plenty clubs around Europe in trouble but finding ways to get out of it. We only seen to be going in deeper and deeper.
Ever tried digging a hole in soft sand Mr Whyte - looks to me like you are doing just that.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Whyte is doing the job he was brought in to do put us into administration and save us from LIQUIDATION simple

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry but the club was up for sale for 1? 2? years before whyte came along. who would buy now?

Agree0 Disagree0

He took over the mess the last group of directors, who are all now trying to get one last big pay day, caused.

Yes I am sure he makes mistakes but give him a bit of time to get things in order...

Agree1 Disagree0

Whyte will want nothing to do with rangers he wants his wedge then move on let him get on with moving us through these terrible times that moonbeams left us,no one wants Rangers with the tax case on its back get shot of that the buyers will appear from behind there couches

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that's the problem mate. Some folk are viewing administration as the end of the world and it's not. Effectively all that will happen is we'll have our debt reduced to paying about 20p in the £1(just an example, not got insider knowledge of figures before anybody goes off on one!). The tax man will then be told to poke it as if you've not got it they cannae get it. Why else do you think Whyte is being cagey about declaring his assets? All this worry about does he have or not have money is exactly what he wants.He cannot have his personal weath or other business assets linked to Rangers if he wants to get us out of this on the cheap and make himself some money. Look at the finacial mess Portsmouth were in as a perfect example. No clarity coming out of the club, tax bills, offshore payments to players, bought by a turnaround guy in Balram Chanrai, put into administration and debts cleared then bought as a far more attractive option by the Vladimir Antonov's Convers sports.
Sound familiar?
Whyte knows what he's doing, It might not look good at the moment but he's in the business of making money by turning around ailing businesses. This was all inevitable and nothing to worry about. This sort of thing is happening to the man in the street right up to massive corporations. Millions of people are trying to find a way out of the financial mistakes of the past, hence why the whole world is financially fu**ed!
Remember, Whyte never got us in this mess but he will get us out and we will be on a much stronger financial footing because of it. Keep the faith bears, there will always be a mighty Glasgow Rangers!

mcintyre made a statement after he got 300k ringfenced. " im saddened at the state of the club".. not getting any better with him taking the 300k out the coffers is it? as for the bbc,been biased in britain for far to long good riddence {Ed001's Note - the problem with the BBC is simple, they are run by upper class toffs who view football fans as lower class yobs. They love the chance to have a go at any club they can, it makes them feel superior.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Agreed ed001. . i mean i remembered when rangers had got into the quarter finals in europe. not mentioned once, and no other match was on that night. i mean that was bbc in england. and when i complained about this they turned their noses and pretty much said they are perfect in every way and that was that {Ed001's Note - sounds about right, they don't care because they get paid anyway.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would agree with the bbc that football is more lower class. Just look at the weekend amature leagues, some of the numpties who go to the Rangers games and all around the country, I am a Gers fan but don't really care too much about the BBC. My team is also full of yobs, but we can see that the BBC has made some bad calls this year and both Rangers and BBC will suffer for it.

Agree0 Disagree0

In journalism, they report the main news first and the lower interest goes down the pile. Thats how it works. When Man U are in Europe that gets covered first as they have the biggest support and more people know them. Rangers are way down there now and where I live most people off the street could not tell you who Rangers are. Sad state of play but it is true. All football fans know us but non football fans may not, but they still all know Man U etc.

Point is the fact that we are not as big or as good as we used to be we have fallen off the news...

Agree0 Disagree1

I disagree, if we wernt big news why report all this crap? i can remembe a time whn a decent report was made about the gers by the bbc. if we win or something good happens they mar it by mentioning sectarianism or lennons beef with postman pat, or the tax case or a million different other things. they just can do a decent report on the gers

Believable0 Unbelievable2

No chance,Big John thinks too much of the club,although ,obviously not a fan of Mr White.thanks for everything John.

Agree2 Disagree0

I don't think he will. He did not do that much anyway and he will want to keep his rep as the greatest ever ranger. If he does get some cash ringfenced then he will kiss that goodby

Agree1 Disagree0

Im a tim,and i know for a fact greigy would never do or say anything to harm rangers.if greigs bailed out,he,ll keep his reasons private,but obviously when someone of his stature in the club bails out,something is SERIOUSLY wrong

Agree1 Disagree1

We may be seeing the great Mr Rangers and a true legend being offered a BOOK deal, and then we may get some inside info. I would be more interested to see what the likes of John Greig has to say about MURRAYS handling of Rangers affairs, far more damaging than anything Whyte is guilty of right now. This is the guy who will be remembered for being chucked fully clothed into a swimming pool by Fernando Ricksen.

As for John Greig he will always be Mr Rangers but this is a new beginning and we now have people running the club who will get us on a stable footing rather than just papering over the cracks like the previous regime

Ricksen must have had strong arms then, Mr MacLelland does not look like a lightweight.

Reading the record today & sun, RANGERS score own goal silly mcneil, don't know whats happening inside IBROX bertie am going mental as I am getting auld, willie henderson sticking up for old pal nothing wrong with that, I will tell you's all something I posted about MR Greig saying nothing when on the board & yes he was a club legend but lets get this straight no 1 is bigger than RANGERS as MR WHYTE said a few weeks ago RANGERS will be here long after you, me, john greig, ex ceptic players trying 2 put the boot in are pushing up the daises.WE WELCOME THE THE CHASE words of a true RANGERS legend MR BILL STRUTH

Stop being a silly little leonard now lets put the buckie bottle down and really think about this..

Question.

Is a football club really 'bigger' than anyone individual?
In the wider scheme of things, I would say someones life is much more important than a ' non living' institution.

I know what you mean, but I am talking about real life here, not individual spats between people at work.

U could argue that beckham is bigger than la galaxy

how safe are ally and the gang after more of the old regime have gone

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A think his days are numbered. Like when any new guy takes over they want there 'pals' in instead of whoevers there. A personally don't no much about this John gregg but to have a statue of him at ibrox must mean something & everyone saying he's mr rangers & for him to 'step down'' then surely he doesn't argee with whites ideas that's why he's freezing him out ? Also he's voted the best rangers player ever n white leaves him out ? If that was Celtic n jinky step down they would be serious questions to be asked of the board
Lenny

Agree1 Disagree2

Don't worry m8 jinky would never have got on the board because as far as I have seen no ex ceptic player has ever been on your board correct me if I am wrong

John Greig signed the letter of concern about the whyte takeover so it's no surprise that whyte wanted rid of him and mclelland as well as the rest who participated. Obviously Whyte has his own ideas for the club and if these guys are not on board then he's quite right to not have them involved with HIS club. I would personally love Walter to be on the board as you know for a fact he would have rangers best interests at heart. He was the one who told the fans that the bank was running the club, not the board. He was the man who stabilised rangers after the PLG reign, he should be involved in some capacity. J1985

Maybe Craig Whyte wouldn't want Water on the board precisely because he would tell the fans what is going on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you think will be there longer than he needs to be he is only there to steady the ship then sell us on,Greig does not want to be there when the bomb hits who takes the biggest hit if the club goes down,think its Whyte no?

does anybody no if there is any good youth players that have not played for the first team that should maby get a game

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Its the start of a new era and time for board changes, remember some people dont like change as they are used to the same every day things, I think White looks at Rangers with a more modern fresh approach, He has stepped up and and taken over the sinking ship, If he can keep it afloat and with a steady stream of results then we bears should be happy enough for the time being. leys see what the future holds.

Wit that has nothing to do with the question

2 all fellow bears I can't help but notice the only person still on the board from murray era is dave king. Mr King never spoke 2 sir david for 3 years because of the way he and other board members were running the club. Yes john greig was a legend but legends don't sit about saying nothing & watch other people run club into the ground, he was quick enough 2 hand in his resignation but wasn't exactly forthcoming in saying anything when on the board, I heard Sandy Jardine sticking up for club far more than Mr greig so if we want a RANGERS man on the board Mr Jardine would do for me, & on to Mr Mclelland another who said jack s**t, he apparently has great buisness qualities outwith football well he didn't exactly apply them when it came 2 football.I am not saying Mr Whyte has done everything perfect far from it but the guy is knew 2 running a football club so I think we should give him the time needed as there are alot of people desperate 2 see him fail because of their own failings, ie mr bain , mr mcintyre & the entire celtic family whatever that is think it is diko, thickalloy & that other lenny lemon, so have a bit of faith fellow bears in bearworld when I walk into IBROX now it is looking the part again with food outlets upgraded new pa system & other work being done on ground maintenance that was badly needed, yes we could have done with a new striker but maybe thats were Mr Whyte has still 2 learn a bit but I think he will come good & I would rather have Mr Whyte than fat peter liewell who tells them so much s**te & makes a joke about RANGERS 2 take the heat of himself, saying that only him that laughs at his jokes, al tell you's a joke his team that has not won a title for 3 years which he has been at the the helm when we have been on our knees but thats the difference with us & them we are winners who don't know how 2 give up, them they just blame every1 else.
