Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

18 May 2011 23:43:28
The transfer window is well and truely upon us judging by some of the rumours doing the rounds. I think Ally will try to bring in a minimum of 5/ 6 players plus a couple on loan.

Targets

Goodwillie
Conway
Bartley
Weiss
Puncheon
Vaughan
Eremenko

Defence. With Bougherra likely to move on i've heard the Cuellar rumours and would love him back at Ibrox but I think he would prefer to return to Spain. Christophe Berra, Andre Bikey, Ivan Ramis and Ashley Williams are far more realistic. Ricky Foster could return.

Midfield. Defo need a CM. David Vaughan would be a great addition has been the unsung hero for Blackpool. Though I agree that Craig Gardner at Brum would be a quality signing. Heard the Dorrans rumours and could only see this happening if Davis went the other way. Lewis McGugan is a great player for Forest would love to see us get him.

Striker. Kenny Miller reportedly wants a move back to UK, possibly a deal involving Mo Edu? Dave Nugent is a free agent, think he would do a decent job for us. Also, the likes of Danny Graham, Steve Morison and Billy Sharp are all worth a look in.

Ed, do you know of any real possible Rangers transfers ??

{Ed010's Note - The quick answer to that is no but let me put some meat on the bones. Football clubs and our club is no different, do not like to go public and formally announce that they are trying to sign this player or that player. It has happened in the past and will happen again, that a transfer target was made public and the player in question, ended up signing for another club, due to that club being tipped off to that players availability. It then makes sense, for Ally to keep his transfer targets close to his chest and by doing so, ensure that he has the best chance of securing their services.

I know everyone says this but I genuinely have a contact within Ibrox and most of the rumours on here are nonsense. However i have it on very good authority that a meeting has been set up between Ally McCoist and Titus Bramble as soon as Ally gets back from the US. With David Weir leaving to take a coaching role at Everton, Ally is keen to have some experience at the back. Another name near the top of a very long list is Julien Rodriguez. The coaching staff are keen to bring him back as they feel he was far better than he showed last time he was at the club. Both deals are expected to go through towards the middle of next month.
Like i say, everyone claims to know someone but these are not rumours. Ive been told first hand by someone at the club.

Weir has come out saying he will be playing next season wither it's with Rangers or another club so he won't be taking up a coaching role unless its a player/ coach role and guranteed to play

m8 i heard davy weir (himself) on the radio u are spot on he defo said he was still gonna play he aint ready to hang up his boots yet but he dosent know if its gonna be with rangers as he hasent talked to any1 about it yet. but what i read in todays sun after hearing that, is that ally wants to give him another year. i honestly think he could do us a job in the spl but in europe where we play alot better and faster strikers (including celtic) hes lacking pace for that job. i also think if we keep him we still need 2 center halfs if bougey goes because we need atleast 1 for cover and i don't hink any1s picked up on this yet.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

If you have a good contact within ibrox can you tell me if Alan Smith of Newcastle is going to Rangers? I am a massive Leeds fan and a completely nutty Smudger fan (a mismatch these days since a lot of them hate him!) so I'd like to know what you think! I don't mind Rangers but I'm terribly biased and would spit the dummy out if he went to your lot.

Young Benifica starlet Freddy Adu is set to join up with the squad in pre-season as he has been free'd to have a trial with the club. Adu is reportedly upset about his lack of first team opportunities in which lead to him being loaned out to aykur Rizespor.

Jelavic to spurs for 7.5 million, plus alan hutton also heard eremenko deal is sealed but can't be confirmed til 1st july

Don't know about Jelavic, but I was flying to Dublin last week (Thursday) and was sitting in The Sanderling near Eremenko who was flying to Moscow to see his wife (then back on Saturday before Killie's end of season party). He was talking about Rangers, he had heard nothing but good things from his friend Vladimir Weiss (apparently Weiss's father was his coach previously in Russia) and if everything goes as planned he would be a Rangers player next season.

ed, do you know where a. eremenkos' preffered move would be? {Ed010's Note - If Eremenko has the same ideals as most other players, he will factor in several issues before deciding where his future lies. He will want first team football, playing in the best league and he will want a decent wage. While he may be prepared to forego the "best" league, there would need to be an additional incentive and that is where European football, may just be the incentive that he requires.

Does anyone else hope we don't sign Eremenko? I think he is overrated and lazy. He doesn't track back and tends to wander from a position. I'd love to see Hutton back at Rangers, hopefully Bartley and Weiss will come back. If would be great to get wee Nacho back as well, he would sit on the bench happily now he has been away, he is a great impact sub and a good player to have in the dressing room. I don't know where Diouf fits into our team, he is not a striker and personally I don't feel he has enough pace to be on the wing. If we play him at RM then we need a winger on the left. But I'd rather see Naismith at RM than Diouf. I actually don't think we need that much if we get Bartley, Weiss, Conway and keep Weir. A few quality players and we will have a really good team.

GovanFR

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Totally agree, eremenko is a good player but i don't think he works enough for the team. No matter how much pre-season training he does i just don't think he will ever get to the fitness level/standard that is required. It's all right having a good passing player in the team but we need someone who can play a full 90mins and can unlock defences in the 1st & last minutes of games. If he is willing to come as a squad player then getting him for less than £1m might be ok as he could play in some lesser games but if he has offers elsewhere then I don't think he will want to come and sit on the bench for the big matches.

Having read Big Davie Weir's article I have to question how much he cares about the Gers and how much attention he pays:

In my opinion it is the hardest place in Britain, if not Europe, to play football. It is the ultimate goldfish bowl, " said the 41-year-old defender.

"There are two teams; it's black and white, nothing in between.

This is a disgrace! He should be well aware that we wear blue!?!?!?!

On a serious note he did say:

"I think I've almost convinced myself to give it a bash again."

He doesn't say if he will play on with us but I would love to see the big guy stay on. Don't think he could play 40-50 games but would be great if we could use him sparingly 20-25 games maybe!

Rudi Skacel, David Templeton and Robert Snodgrass will not be joining Rangers. Folk need to stop makin this rubbish up. First of all I know Templeton well, grew up with the boy. He will be remaining at Hearts for another few years plus he is a diehard Celtic fan, secondly Snodgrass is loving life down in Leeds, I know his in-laws, Rangers WILL NOT be signing Snodgrass. All three players aint good enough to play for Rangers. . . {Ed010's Note - Don't you think that players do longer care what club they play for as long as they are playing on a regular basis and are being paid a good wage. The days of players, only wanting to play for the club they supported as a boy, are long gone. Would you agree ? Anyone got any views on the subject ?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

There is a few young Northen Ireland players that I would like Rangers to scout, if they have not done already.Stuart Dallas 20 a young midfield player. He won player of the year and young player of the year over there recently. And Jordan Owens 21, a young stiker.6.3 foot he could be a new Lafferty. They could be worth a trip over there. To watch maybe for there nation, if they get on.Both play for Crusaders.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

All due respect but the league in Northern Ireland is no better than the English Conference. If they are any good I'm sure someone is watching them. On the up side, they would be cheap but unlikely good enough, for the SPL Champions. big rab by the way

Agree1 Disagree0

Players in the English conference step up to English championship level all the time Big Rab.There is a lot of late developers out there.Craig Makhail Smith is a good case in point. We can't be to picky, what league we get our players out off. With the right coaching and around better players.Players can come on leaps and bounds. Its all the matter of getting the chance.A lot about the game is also down to luck.IE have a good game, when the scouts are watching you.And you know guys from that nation. Will put in that extra 100 per cent, even if there not the best at the team.Good case in point, is Kyle Lafferty. He was a target for the bo boys. But who is laughing at him now?He blasted our way to the title. And I hope that has earned him more respect. It has been earned bye me.As to start with I thought he was not Rangers class.

Does anyone know if Bain is apart of the backroom staff on the charity challenge, as i thought, it was smith, mccoist, mcdowell and durrant, that was doing the challenge,

reason i ask this is because im sure that it is bain that deals with contracts (im sure ive heard smith say this in the past). hence how papac signed a new one with mccosit away in america,

im thinking that it could be have been easy for mccoist to give bain instructions about people he wants to keep or bosman targets he defo wants, i.e Conway etc.

and then he went to america to leave bain to start the process of the contract talks whilist he was away.

this might just be a random idea, what does everyone else think??

I don t know why rangers don t try and sign Vaclav Kadlec, from Sparta Prague he young striker with allot of talent and potential very highly rated although there are meant to be some english clubs in for him i think we could get him. Or they should try for Jelle Vosson who is also a young player who is showing some class. Both players are young and have both played and scored for their countries. They would cost a few million but would definitely be worth it in my opinion.

this has been cut and pasted from the Celtic rumours page and i will say what i said on there these players are not worth that amount of money apart for McGregor more relistic figures are Kayal-5million, emilo-5 million, Jelavic- 6 million these players are only proven in scotland and only during 1 season Bougherra 3 million this is about right. All this talk of owen in glasgow today to discuss talks with rangers is mince! These aren't rumours. .just people trying to wind you up! can't believe people fall for stuff like this.

The only player im sure will be at Rangers next season is Conway from dundee utd. There have been rumours in the papers about Ally looking at vaughan. Also i heard West Ham released Upson. Think ally should go for him? Mind you , we would get Conway, Upson and Vaughan for free! Would be great signings i think.

From what i have been told conway has already signed and will be announced shortly. Talks are still goin on with Bartley this will defo go thro as the player, arsene and ally are all happy for it to go ahead. Hopefully won't be buying goodwillie as i don't think he is value for money. John Brown was in contact with Vaughan of blackpool but a few other teams are sniffing about him in EPL and not heard anything on Upson deal but i think he is on 90k a week at west ham so that is never gonna happen !

Just read this on sky sports.

Tony Finnigan is Jason Puncheon (blackpool) agent.
Tony confirmed that "rangers have confirmed there interest" in puncheon

ed how much would it take to buy this player? {Ed010's Note - There are a few factors that need to be taken in to consideration. Puncheon is on loan at Blackpool from his parent club (Southampton) and any deal by Rangers, would need to include them. It is my understanding that Blackpool have first option on him and a price tag of £1000000 is already in place. If Blackpool get relegated, I don't see the deal going through, based on Blackpool's transfer policy. That would leave Southampton and Puncheon to decide his future and they may ask for more money based on them now being a Championship club.

Yesterday, according to Rangersrumours, michael owen and James McFadden were at Murray park and Ibrox, and even though Murray Park closed on Monday there is still chef's and groundsmen working, who are given inside info from directors at the club. If you read the main site, Michael Owen is a master of quantum physics because he was at a multitude of clubs all over britain at the same time yesterday. Quite sad, the lies people make up.

I've heard, just off folk that work in sfa youth coaching programmes in Glasgow, with no affiliation to Rangers, that Matt Gilks is coming to rangers in the summer, Barry Bannan and Jordan Rhodes are wanted by Glasgow Clubs also.
