So far I don't have any real complaints about Graham Wallace. He has been brought in to sort things out and make Rangers stable.

He offered the players a 15% wage cut, and I understand why the players didn't take it. I know it can't be compared but if my work asked me to take a wage drop I would say no and start looking for a new job. But clearly Wallace has offered them this as it would surely mean less players would have to leave. Now they have rejected it, then it surely means that some of the squad players will be sold / paid off. But I doubt we can afford to pay these players off. As I am sure someone like Cribari would prefer to be paid for the next 6 months of sitting on the bench rather leave without a payout.

I really do hope that we are able to get rid of some of the overpaid squad players. We really have no need for players such as Stevie Smith (unless Wallace is sold), Cribari, Foster, Shiels, Perry etc.

I can understand if we have to sell Wallace. But I really hope they hold onto Macleod for as long as possible, as is value will only increase.

I haven't been that impressed by peralta so far. But I think it is worthwhile keeping a hold of him until after the World Cup as we are more likely to get more money for him then.

Wallace is also looking into the other costs, and we all hope that Stockbridge will eventually be out. Especially since Wallace and Somers are both Chartered Accountants! Hopefully the whole wage structure will be mapped out so that Rangers no longer pay high wages for average players.

Let's just hope the finances are sorted out, Rangers work on a plan of a good first team with a spine of the current players (bell, mohsni, mcculloch, Wallace, Macleod, law and daly) then the majority of other players should be from the youth team (aird, mcausland, teller, Walsh, Stoney, ogen).

I have also been impressed with Wallace in terms of the media. He seems to know what he is talking about and doesn't embarrass the club. With Green I cringed everytime I heard him speak. He was an person.

Also I know there is talk of investment, but I would prefer we set out a stable business plan and wage structure first and don't rely on extra investment every year! Years ago we relied on getting into the champions league. But if we didn't make it we would have to sell players. I don't want us to have to do this in the future.

C'mon the Gers!

A great post.

We claim to be amongst the best supported teams on the planet and so let's prove it. Where are the fans not filling out Ibrox? Now, more than ever, we need 50,000 fans pitching up and selling the stadium out.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1.
No way, that's what they want.
50,000 pumping money into the pockets of the hooks and crooks that have almost taken this club to oblivion.
No more cash until the crooks are all gone

Agree0 Disagree0

Kfraser I hope your not questioning the fans, 42,000 season tickets last 2 seasons, mostly every away ground sold out in 3rd and 2nd divisions and club is still no far forward than it was 2 seasons ago. Some families are struggling to put 3 meals a day on their tables and you want more from the fans, I THINK GLASGOW RANGERS HAVE HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH FROM THE FANS.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, cbeattie there are a lot of good points made.
Unfortunately, Wallace must have a short term plan for this season that may be detrimental to long term thinking. Secondly, he must convince the fans that the damage that has been done, will not be repeated.
The most important feature in gaining our trust would be the assurance that Green's influence is gone from within the power hub of the club.
If he shows leadership to get us over the current hurdle and eradicates Green's boys and exposes any unsurfaced worms then we may have a future.

Agree0 Disagree0

N4 very well put billyb

Agree0 Disagree0

What would be the use of keeping this money eating monster alive as it is now
people who say the don't get it and people who don't want to get it, every day people who won't GET THE FINANCES AT OUR CLUB is stealing money from our future and cutting a little bit more of the faith in our club from the fans, it looks so bad it looks deliberate

Agree0 Disagree0

N6 its looked deliberate from day one imo since duff and phelps gave charliebhoy preference charliebhoy was not in the bidding then as soon as he appeared he was getting the club I hope more comes of the police investigation and they all end up in barlinnie on fraud charges

Ally got the vital spine of the team right this season in signing Bell, Mohsni, Law and Daly and all on frees and for that he deserves great credit.

Wallace and McLeod are stand outs and aside from Aird we're seeing signs of more youth players getting at least a bench place. Ally's also doing a bit of a juggling act with getting loan deals for the likes of Gallacher, Gasparotto, McAusland and McKay. I think his signing of Clark was spot on.

I'd imagine he'd like to move on a few fringe players who have probably let him down a bit but they're under contract and some will no doubt go in the summer. We need to keep our core players and take greater risks next season with youth players. Gordon Durie needs to ensure this and Durrant has said before " if you're good enough, you're old enough. "

I hope we take this riskier approach next season, we don't have to win every game and we'll see more McLeods coming through and these players will be on salaries we can afford. Administration is not an option and a 10% rise in season ticket holders and a price increase would be good. We're paying well below the value we get in, never mind watching Rangers, having a club still.

I agree - good post. Only problem for me is the people above McCoist who we cannot trust to do what is right for our club and worse the lack of information on how we are to move forward continues

Yeah that's a great model kfraser, blow all our cash on players in bottom two divs so we then need to take a riskier approach in a tougher division next year with youth not given a chance to get bled into the team when we're cruising. Yeah Ally deserves a lot of credit for that, a genius aproach I can see managers the world over trying to copy.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ OP and 2 its Wishie Washie here because I agree with both posts. Going forward Kfraser you are 100% correct but agree with Paulineblue 72 we should have done this from the start.
Bears on here are quick to point out that the youngsters were not good enough last year but Jig, Black, Cribari, Faure, the Greek guy and even Templeton were also sub standard in most games. Plus the last time I checked Kane Hemmings was the top scorer in the division above us.
Not sure I have the same faith in young Clark but agree it made sense in opting for someone who had his goal scoring record

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 we could've put together a team from the junior leagues last year in won the 3rd division, but we decided to overpay average players and need to cut our cloth now.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4, spot on sweep1

Can tell who your posts are from after reading a couple of lines. Are you ally mccoist or a relative of his?

Just read in the star that the Easdales are ready to plough 20mil into the club if its true would this put an end to the spivs' carry on?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Oh not, not another war chest.

if they ready to put in £20m, why are we cutting wages for players the core of the team.

hover pitches next, meanwhile over on planet mcmurdo they now raising more FOI requests to GCC (forgetting that land deals not covered by FOI - as pointed out by GCC last time. doh!).

We need some smart bears. not dumbos.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 If this is true just because you have some investment doesn't mean you do not try and cut your costs. However the cost cutting should start with Stockbridge and Toxic Jack and re-look at some of the apparently less than intelligent contracts handed out for services required for Ibrox and Auchenhowie before the players. They probably earn far more than we can afford but in terms of winning the league they are doing their job. Not always pretty to watch but if that is the sole measure of success (which it shouldn't be) then it is hard to justify cutting their agreements mid season.

I would say the war chest rumours are made up to try and increase share price and entice some investment

Kisy

Agree0 Disagree0

Would Ally get £10m to spend on transfers in the summer? What about America tour this year?

Jack the lad

Agree0 Disagree0

To all the above posts I was just posting what I seen in a newspaper ffs I wasn't suggesting we would haha a war chest or anything suggested in the above posts and as I said IF TRUE would it still be ok to call these guys spivs

Agree0 Disagree0

OP I'll run around ibrox naked if this happens, I still can't believe after all the lies in the last 2 year's people are still desperate and believe this nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 5 don't take it personally mate there are a lot of angry bears on here who have listened to crap and bullsh#t from Murray, Green, Whyte and at times the manager- (he didn't look at his contract before he signed- Aye right Ally jeezo we all do that). If it happens I think they will have won over a number of us. If they then get rid of Toxic Jack and talk to the fans about the many concerns and missing/wasted monies (IPO COSTS)they would come out of the Spivs pigeon hole as far as I am concerned

Agree0 Disagree0

Op that story will bemore shyte from toxic jack believe me how could they invest it by buying more shares thus money going to person selling the shares if the players cost the club 6million on wages that leaves 12 million outgoing why don't the clowns running rangers take a 15 per cent cut saving us 2million a year give or take

Agree0 Disagree0

@4happy birthday J T LAD.
If Ally does get £10m to spend this summer he should take all the young players on an American tour to Disney fantasy world.
A world obviously you live in!
