New to here fellas, been following a while and like the crack! Just quick question on shinnie, anyone heard much and would you take him on a free as a left back to challenge barisic next season whilst also covering the middle of the park?

19 Dec 2018 10:30:03
Welcome Dave!
He would be Ok but I wouldn't bother with him. We have a number of options in the central area still and I'm not convinced by him at left back.
I would rather we went for keep Jack and Barisic first choice and the much improved Halliday to cover and try to develop of bring in younger.
I think we should generally avoid trying to deal with the likes of Hibs and Aberdeen who have always tried to be difficult.

Anybody anything about these 2 americans that's on trial.

18 Dec 2018 16:10:46
Interested in guys that can't get a game in America, doesn't inspire me, hope i'm wrong.

18 Dec 2018 16:57:07
MAYBE they can get a game but want to try their luck in Europe, would increase their value if they make it.

19 Dec 2018 06:26:13
We were asked if we wanted to have a look at them. this happens often. If they impress great and if not then no harm is done. Hopefully we win a watch on both!

19 Dec 2018 08:51:42
Polster was a regular in the chicago fire team until last season when he ruptured his MCL and the other lad is a "prospect"

like scotty says no harm in having a look.

18 Dec 2018 15:35:12
The thing that pleases me is how poorly we have played in spells this season and we are still top.
I believe that once SG adds a couple of att/ mid and poss a striker we will take our game up a level. I hope we manage to sign Steven Davis as he is tried and trusted and classy player that can change games. i feel that he could have the same impacted that naismith has had on hearts.

It will be interesting to see how SG plays the next old firm game. Hopefully he has learned from seeing them over the season that that they are no great team.
He gave them 2 much respect in the last encounter and we need to get right in the faces this time.

18 Dec 2018 16:07:54
100% agree hibs battered them other day never gave them a min stopped them playing out from back forced Gordon to kick it and that works well he's got a foot like a 50p piece
We must get in about them can you imagine the guts of 50k at ibrox on teams back if they score.

18 Dec 2018 14:53:28
2 American boys taken on trial. Ones an international defender can't remember their names. One of them won the NCAA player of the year.

18 Dec 2018 15:21:08
One plays full back for Chicago Fire, the other one is a college footballer, probably one or two for the future, just having a look at their skill factor. Just my opinion.

18 Dec 2018 10:37:00
I think this is going to be a really tight season this year. When was the last time we were coming up for xmas and 8th place was only 8 points behind the leaders (Us chuffed faced) . a lot of teams are going to be taking points off each other at the top and it will chop and change a lot quicker than other seasons. Its actually a really good season so far for the league we just need to stick to our game as its fully in our hands now.

18 Dec 2018 10:46:25
It's not fully in our hands bud they have a game in hand which of they win takes them 2 points above us assuming we win all games upto that game of theirs getting played and if they win that but your definitely right chances of teams taking points of each other seems really high this season.

18 Dec 2018 11:42:09
There's a very real chance Celtic will splash the cash in January. Hopefully Rodgers gets a big say in the signings so it's nothing to worry about.

18 Dec 2018 11:56:19
MikeGer you talking about the likes of dembele, Eduard. ntcham Sinclair, I'm sure they 4 guys have scored about 40% of Celtics last 31 goals against rangers since Rodgers took over. do you homework before posting.

18 Dec 2018 12:43:48
It’s in our hands dlc as if we win all our games we win the league, including 3 against Celtic. It’s also in everyone’s hands in the top 8 at least.

18 Dec 2018 12:55:57
DLC. I was always told it is better to have the points in the bag than games in hand. The Old Firm game at Ibrox at the end of this month is now huge but we must win the three games before that against Hibs (twice) and St Johnstone. After the winter break we are away to Kilmarnock and Livingston in successive games so that will be as much at test of Gerrard's team as the games against Celtic, Hibs, et al. Perhaps by early February we'll really see if SG's team is capable of going all the way.

18 Dec 2018 14:19:03
Defo get the points just wish we could put together 5/ 6 wins on the bounce need to stop dropping daft points 👍👍🙏.

18 Dec 2018 14:25:40
Wee bear you're right my maths is crap! 😂😂😂😂.

With January approaching some guys in my work were saying Brenda and Celtic will splash the cash and strengthen. So I put a list together of his signings from Celtic and Liverpool. With the exception of Demebele, Edoiard and Ntcham who I think have been successful for them his signings have been Sinclair, Kolo Toure, Gamboa, Doris Di Vries, Kouassi, Hayes, Benyu, Comper, Musonda, Hendry. obviously I’ve missed a few!
Admittedly I had to Google Rodgers signings but I had to laugh at folk saying he’s good with signings!

Not to mention the duds he signed at Liverpool.

Fabio Borini, Roma, £10,400,000
Joe Allen, Swansea City, £15,000,000
Oussama Assaidi, Heerenveen, £3,000,000
Nuri Sahin, Real Madrid, On Loan
Samed Yesil, Bayer Leverkusen, £1,000,000
Daniel Sturridge, Chelsea, £12,000,000
Philippe Coutinho, Inter Milan, £8,500,000
Luis Alberto, Sevilla, £6,800,000
Iago Aspas, Celta Vigo, £7,000,000
Simon Mignolet, Sunderland, £9,000,000
Kolo Touré, Free Transfer, Free
Aly Cissokho, Valencia, On Loan
Mamadou Sakho, Paris St Germain, £15,000,000
Tiago Ilori, Sporting Lisbon, £3,500,000
Victor Moses, Chelsea, On Loan
Rickie Lambert, Southampton, £4,500,000
Adam Lallana, Southampton, £25,000,000
Emre Can, Bayer Leverkusen, £9,750,000
Kevin Stewart, Free Transfer
Lazar Markovic, Benfica, £19,800,000
Dejan Lovren, Southampton, £20,000,000
Divock Origi, Lille, £9,800,000
Javier Manquillo, Atletico Madrid, On Loan
Alberto Moreno, Sevilla, £12,000,000
Mario Balotelli, AC Milan, £16,000,000
Joe Gomez, Charlton Athletic, £6,000,000
Adam Bogdan, Free Transfer
Danny Ings, Free Transfer, £8,000,000
James Milner, Free Transfer
Nathaniel Clyne, Southampton, £12,500,000
Roberto Firmino, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, £29,000,000
Christian Benteke, Aston Villa, £32,500,000
Allan Rodrigues de Souza, Internacional, £500,000

Of that list I’d say only a handful have been a success. the rest I have no I idea where they ended up!
In conclusion If I was a Celtic fan I would be concerned about this! I wouldn’t trust Brendan Rogers with a bean!
