Probably a striker even though we only have one “true” lb in Barisic I think Flanagan hasn’t put a foot wrong when asked to play there. Halliday also done well last season in big games. I just worry of Defoe or Morelos get injured we will be struggling. But at the same time I can’t see a good striker coming in knowing that he might be third choice.

Another striker would be good but personally I'd have like to see Hutton back to give Tav a challenge. RB is the only position in the team that has no real competition.

Is it just me but that is our B team looked weak. we have all these midfielders and only stand out was airbo ( which is one of our 1st ) edmudson and helander looked like there no communication between them and between the midfield. Polster looked good.
I say move Tav to left try him there and keep pollster or vice versa.
Halliday is a midfielder use him there.

Barisic is a Croatia first pick so is a good player; just needs to toughen up a bit. After watching the game today Hellander seemingly being recognised as out marquee defender signing is nowhere near the 1st 11 at present and I've also seen the boy Edmundson play a hell of a lot better than that and Halliday! my god that must have been the worst game he's played in a rangers jersey and really didn't like the look of the American guy I know he's not played much but at times he didn't seem to know what to do with the ball when he had it and I've no idea what Kamara was playing at our there most of today but a win is a win and a clean sheet to boot and we're in the next round and that's all that matters and on we go.

Barasic is the Croatian national team LB we are not going to be loaning him to Aberdeen. That would also leave us even lighter in the position with no natural LB. I admit he’s not done well so far in Scotland but if anything we should be looking to sell and replace with the funds like for like.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we should have kept declan john. He was tremendous at going forward similar to the way tav goes forward on our right side. He also wasn't afraid to tackle, if my memory serves me correctly. He was much more suited to scottish football, than barisic is.

A decent performance today, second string to a certain extent, played like a training game as it should have. More game time for our new players. moregame time generally for the squad. A decent exercise with a decent result. Big games in the future, nice to know we have back up 😀😀.

Should've been far more clinical in front of goal and won by, at least five! Anyway no injuries on a plastic pitch which is a plus point

Didnt see enough of the new signings but these guys still need to catch up and I'm expecting Andy King to add real quality to the team Giving he's has masses of Premiership experience and a League winner with Leicester 👍.

We have drawn Livi away. Another plastic pitch 🙈. It's horrible to watch these games. I understand it with East Fife being league 1 and if it was only the odd cup game fair enough. Killie, Livi, Hamilton though that's a quarter of the top league. It's detrimental to the overall product of the league and in some cases dangerous. Time for them to go.

Benig from forfar i don't often hear about players getting bad injuries on the pitches. Not a great surface but we should be able to play on the comfortably considering we have them at the training ground so we will be training on them leading up to these games.

It would be more embarrassing if we played our full strength team at home and had to win in extra time with our manager coming on to the park at full time to get the players in a huddle to convince everyone they are all in it together! 😉

For what we paid, Aribo is turning into a quality signing, he ran the show today. I thought him and Defoe were head and shoulders above anyone else on the park. In these sort of games, in these sort of pitches and with horrendous weather conditions, its a no win situation, for rangers against east fife today. Professional enough performance, nothing more, nothing less and the main thing is we're through comfortably. What is glaring is that we do need to sign a left back and another different type of striker, as if god forbid, either morelos or defoe were to get injured, it would leave us very short in this department, we have got everything else within our squad to challenge in all fronts this season.

Pretty poor game today, obviously there are mitigating circumstances, fringe players, weather/ wind pitch etc but what it definitely did show, is the first team squad is miles ahead of the rest.
Today only those stood out, Big Wes, two centre backs, Aribo best man on the park, Defoe and Jones.
The rest missed an opportunity, all very poor. Halliday was dreadful, should not be in the European squad, Hastie has to go out on loan, back to Motherwell or better, same with Doc. Barasic needs a run in the team or to be sold.

I was watching the reading game earlier on and Ejaria was outstanding. Now I was a huge critic of Ejaria, he was timid, weak, ineffective and generally nowhere near the standard required to play for Rangers. It then got my thinking of Waghorn who again was murder but appears to be doing okay in the championship. What stops these players making it with us but then playing well in a better league? Are our standards too high? Is our league better than people think? do these players simple not try as hard playing in Scotland?

The quality of player in the english championship isn't great and neither is the standard of football. Its only competitive because every club is on a par with each other. How many players over the last few years have came to us from that league and been poor and then go back and do pretty well. Playing for us is completely different to playing with a derby or a reading. 👍.

Waghorn was good enough for us as main striker in championship but not when we got promoted. Think that will also be the case with Derby regardless of his valuation. The boy Ejaria was good enough for us under SG abut just could not settle in Scotland. He left for non football reasons and hopefully has now developed as a person.

Reading on twitter that Ross McCrorie played at right back for Portsmouth yesterday, and done well. According to the fans comments on twitter, he was a standout. He started out as a central defender, then started playing in midfield. Might be an option as a right back for us in the future. The Portsmouth fans were raving about the way he went by players and was putting in quality crosses, plus we all know he can put in a tackle. What do u all think?

Robertson was a good player at Dundee United that deserved at that time to play at one of the old firm. If we can beat Warsaw and Celtic in the next few weeks then that will send out a huge message our team will get massive confidence from that i'm not getting carried away just yet but the next few games will tell Celtic if we win then we are seriously breathing down there neck and are not going away its going to be interesting for sure Gerrard means business everyone can feel it we will need a bit of luck along the way but as of right now our team may not have millions spent on it but the team has a lot of spirit to fight you can see the team effort and there is some real quality in the team like Aribo kamara Morelos Tavernier McGregor katic Goldson Defoe Jones Arfeild they are genuine talent and massively upgraded from 3 years or so more years ago.

We just need to keep winning and building pressure, their fans, manager, players and board are crumbling under the tiny amount of pressure being applied already. I’d expect a load of panic buys in the next 2 weeks as well as more iffy results!
