Why does every rangers fan who is on mccoist back just xxxx off he bought players who would win 3rd division and no Scottish player wants to play in 3rd division so that's why he went abroad think many fans forget where we were at last year I know I was happy when mccoist stayed when all the rubbish unfolded last year if he didn't think many fans would be worried that not 1 bluenose was about it would of being worrying that new owners came in and didn't know what rangers where all about I'm glad he stuck about rangers will be bck to where we were winning the top flight year in year out so mccoist will be there till then and will buy better quality players when the time is rite ie top division mccoist will get us there and after a couple of years on top division if he's not doing it I think he would resign kid on fans think they know it it's a recovery period get behind team every sat I don't care about performances in a rubbishty league points come first then when we are bck to where we belong we will see the real rangers

Believable16 Unbelievable44

That is the worst excuse. So by your point ally will look to buy players for div
2 and wot, get rid of some of his previous signings. Rangers have a fantastic chance here to have a very young Scottish squad.
Ally reminds me of barcelonas manager
Alls good when on form but when that change is needed or the tactics don't appear to be working the manager is stumped.
1 last thing rangers may win a lot of there games but the mentality is to play ugly football. My mate recently said ally's heart is running this club not his head. A ruthless manager is needed not a manager who thinks rangers are to big to lose

Agree8 Disagree8

I am trying to work out what you are on about as there's no full stops in your post.
What about last season's signings? What about tactics, or lack of?
What about fitness, or lack of?
What about playing players out of position every week?
All irrelevent to what league we are in.
Ally has a better chance of returning us to Administration than the top league.
As for a kid on fan, I'm 46, being going regular since I was 5, I've had a season ticket since the age of 15 and been all over Europe following my team. I went through all this when John Greig was in charge and see similarities, although Greig knew about tactics, so wise up and smell the coffee before Ally finishes us off for good.

Agree14 Disagree7

Ally reminds u of the Barcalona manager surely that's not Guardiola or Vilanova? Must be the wee coach that's standing in your on about? Last week we had Hutton compared to Pirlos now Ally's like the Barca coach I've heard it all now I think Ally's more like Benitez not wanted by the fans and always has a glaeckit look on his face lol.

Larky Bear

Agree9 Disagree4

Yes he bought players to win div 3.

but they did NOTHING in the cups. even the Ramsden!!

winning div good, getting promotion and bringing in money from cup runs is more important.

ally doing least. this the issue.

no future in just winning div3/2/1/ and making no re-building or income generation. ally is highest paid manager in scotland (counting shares)!!

Agree5 Disagree4

1st poster here clarifying.
Trying to say buying I players for each division is a bad excuse for ally.
I agree he is not up to the task.
About liking to Villanova, he and ally have no idea how to change a game when they are needed, like tactics.
If ally was as big as a supporter than he claims to be he would see that rangers would be better off with a manager with more experience.

Agree6 Disagree2

@5: bit hard to really change the game from New York while recuperating from cancer, is it not?

Just watched the League Cup Final & I have to say what a great advertisement it was for Scottish Football & very refreshing to watch such a great game come from this Country. I've watched very little SPL or cup action this season that hasn't involved Rangers but I've been lucky what I have seen have been very good open games like St Mirren v Celtic both Cup games & The Motherwell victory against Celtic a few weeks back, I hope Rangers can get back to these competitive games and hold our own again at the top but more importantly Scottish Football needs to improve all round, we have some great teams here who have struggled the past 20 years but this weekend there's been some phenomenal performances from Motherwell, Aberdeen St Mirren & Hearts today also Hibs Ross County & Inverness have had some great moments this season so take a look Ally Rangers were the let down of Scottish Football this week yet again with a scabby 1-0 win by a penalty, the standards no where near that of England Germany Spain & Italy but we have a chance to construct a new setup that will improve our game Youth development is key & it looks like the only way for clubs to make money is sell the top players but so be it I just hope all teams can hold out to get the deserved transfer fees for our players to push the game forward and start levelling the playing fields again for our game to be up there in Europe with atleast the Dutch Belgian & French Leagues obviously that would take years & the right leadership so it's a must that Regan Doncaster & the Chronies step down & we get in the real faces of Scottish Football like Kenny Dalgleish, Walter Smith & Craig Brown mixed in with some good Business Heads. Sorry about the length of the post & the poor punctuation but just wanted to get the point across well done to St Mirren Deserved there Cup win today they've waited longer than I've been born for that and it makes me feel lucky for what I have seen as a Rangers fan & I wouldn't care if I have to wait 10 15 years for that aslong as the games improved as a whole every team has a chance we are living within our means doing it Fair & Square like everyone else has done all these years with everyone playing good football no more of this going backwards for our Game please! Seeing what it ment to big Stevie Thompson put a smile on my face Congrats big man.

Larky Bear

PS Rangers could do worse than Ismael Goncalves, Michael Ngoo, Paul McGowan & Ryan Stevenson btw. We already have bought worse the past 2 years actually lol.

Believable24 Unbelievable14

A very fair and honest post LB, no surprise there though as you are always very fair in your comments. Well done mate.

Agree16 Disagree7

Haha cheers mate looks like a few don't agree with you but I do love this wee site for the banter and sometimes I just post without thinking what i'm saying in retaliation to others or with some of the things that have been said about us I love my club and can't say that my heart doesn't rule my head when it comes too Rangers sometimes but I love all football and hate how bad our game had become apart from Celtics run in the CL there hopefully everyone can turn a corner and we are in a for a prosperous few years of exciting Scottish football but Change is Definately needed!

Larky Bear

Agree10 Disagree2

We are constantly told as 2nd highest paid players we should of won the cup. Why didn't the highest paid team win it

Agree13 Disagree6

1877 st mirren formed, and 140 years until they win the CUP - and only because rangers imploded.

140 years far too long. Round 1 ever year should be rangers vs celtic - to ensure they NEVER meet in final.

give other teams a chance. in the name of sport!

Agree1 Disagree16

Im sure #4 is a piss take. Every club who enters the cup has a chance of winning it, simply by entering. Clubs other than us and celtic have won the cups in recent years - ie hearts and dundee united

Agree10 Disagree1

Yes rangers could have won this cup but 2012 bad year. b

Agree0 Disagree3

@4) It's kind of hard to win a cup 140 years ago that just began in 1947.

Agree9 Disagree0

@3 the highest paid were more interested in a CL run. doh!

Aye and you were embarassed by juve and I loved it

@9 it wasn't as much as the rest of scottish football loved watching your team struggle week in week out and getting rolled by teams with carpenters and plumbers etc pmsl
And what about the Annan and stirling Albion results? Haha bet you loved that one too!

i think ally should get neil mccann in his back room staff what's everyones thoughts?

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Why? because he summarises on TV? Get Gabby Logan as well then.

Agree13 Disagree4

Please not gabby logan there, s enough t**s in the technical area
just now. jimbo.

Agree15 Disagree1

Maybe a good shout. Gabby Logan could win the third division as well! Ally should go now. If he is happy with that performance yesterday, we have major problems. Every game seems to be a struggle.

Agree14 Disagree4

Dont tell me, he is a Rangers man and knows what it takes. Can we not just recruit people on ability. I don't care what anybody tells me but the football for the last ten years has been *hit.
McLeish, Smith and now McCoist boring negative painfull to watch *hit. Why did Ally get the job again?nice to see he has not lost any of that sense of humour he has, I was watching him have a good old laugh with some of the guys at the weekend, I just think there is a lack of discipline and respect throughout the whole set up. I just get frustrated watching this dire football being served up every season. What are we doing at Murray park with the youngsters where is the technical ability. Please just try and play the game the way it should be played, I, m tired of watching this stuff please listen to the fans before we lose the support we have. Sorry I have had it up to the back teeth, "that was the performance we needed " deary me.

Teams in the SPL and EPL are changing out managers who have performed better than McCoist why does rangers still have this joker imposter?

Believable16 Unbelievable11

Name me one team in the spl or epl, no make that world football who is "changing out" their manager that is 20 points clear at the TOP of their league, bet your struggling.

Agree10 Disagree15

@1 can you name me any other manager whose team is up against part time players while having a wage bill of £7m which is probably 200 times more than any other team in the league but still manages to struggle in almost every game. bet u struggle

Bayern Munich

Name me a league that is a poorer standard than the one we are playing in, FFS we get over 40 thousand at our home games are our ambitions not greater than simply winning this league full of barmen and painters. We are full time side playing against Tuesday night trainers.

I've got to laugh, listening to the radio yesterday and the pundits are all saying that sky needs to be sitting down with the SFA SPL and try and sort out a way (with sporting integrity still in mind) of fast traking Rangers back to the SPL to save Scottish Football. They were going on about sky won't wait another 2 years without an Old Firm clash. what's happened to all this "We don't Rangers"
SCM

Believable13 Unbelievable8

The pundits are looking out for their own jobs They don't speak for the fans

Agree10 Disagree4

Wonder who the Ex-Ranger pundit was?Propaganda maybe?

Agree8 Disagree7

We don't want back in spl let them suffer they got their way

Agree13 Disagree7

This talk is irrelevant. Rangers need three years of audited accounts before being eligible to play in the top tier. This is a uefa regulation.

Agree17 Disagree12

To post 4 absolute bum juice mate, you need 3 years of accounts to play in europe!

god where do these folk come from, and why was such a blooper even posted.

*ksd*

Agree8 Disagree12

To @5 @4 is right you need 3 years audited accounts to play in top division of a country affiliated to UEFA - but as ever if you are RFC sporting rules mean nothing.

if did not stop them playing in CL before (not having current audited accounts, as they had 3years of old accounts?) -

doubt SFA/SPL will stop them (armageddon argument is about RFC NOT getting in to top league asap - not collapse now).

@5 dems is de rules mate!

"Very interesting revelation from Mr Calderwood that he was offered the Dunfermline FC managers position by…. David Murray. "

wheels within wheels, why would ranger ceo offer management of DAFC to someone. unreal.

and no word here. its a rumour site and this is a rumour?

Believable17 Unbelievable7

Celtic fans never believed 1 thing calderwood said and mocked him at every opportunity yet something negative about rangers and its true, funny old world isn't it?

Agree8 Disagree7

When was Calderwood mocked by Celtic fans? I always liked his 1-0 or 5-0 a defeats a defeat is a defeat attitude. If only more managers had this approach to the game.

Agree7 Disagree2

1) Odd that murray and masterton linked. both running clubs (into the ground). ??

As ever no doubt gers fans think this a conspiracy, but did murray really have any control of DAFC when running RFC?

How rotten was RFC?

How can Ally come out and say that we will be starting next season with kids? As far as I am aware most of the players signed have 2 or 3 year contracts and unless he is playing too release them then he will have to try and sell them. Can't see many other clubs wanting these players who have performed so poorly and are on good money being attractive to other clubs. It also looks as though McCoist is getting his excuses in early for next season! On a different point " how petty are the SFA refusing to let Barry Ferguson do his coaching badges in Scotland?" just another example why these people should be removed from office.

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Barry Ferguson is footballing national team disgrace and should never be allowed a management position anywhere in Scotland.
Tartan Army Footsoldier.

Il never watch scotland again and hope they lose every game they play

Agree16 Disagree15

@1, you say 'Tartan Army Footsoldier' as if that's something to be proud of. 'Loser' would have done the job just fine.

Ally has some cheek to agree with Charles Green when he said this is the worst Rangers teem ever. After all he is the worst manager ever, why? well let's not forget the 15 points, hopefully we get rid of him next season, then bring in someone who doesn't buy old SPL players. The SPL is rubbish buy people in from abroad!!!

Believable13 Unbelievable15

Buy up and coming young players and COACH them into better players. Lots of good players in the first and second division who would do a job and have experience of that level.

Agree17 Disagree2

Great idea buying players from abroad
cribari, faure, sandaza, argyriou, mckay
and so on. Those guys have really set us on our way. Get players who want to play for the jersey. jimbo

Agree12 Disagree3

We should be targeting young, hungry British player's but our scouting network seems to stretch no further than the SPL.
As for the apparent dross Ally has bought this season, if they were coached and managed by say, Terry Butcher, we would probably have had the league sewn up by February and possibly reached 1 of the cup finals. Hey, we may even have had a system or style of football.
Every year Ally stays is a year we fall further behind celtic.

At last some truth from McCoist, after the defeat last week he said he was unconcerned by the criticism and would carry on doing what he is doing, and true to his word another desperate display against inferior opposition scraping home by a penalty.

Believable20 Unbelievable2

17 Mar 2013 07:55:17
I've been both supportive and critical of McCoist in the past but I think it's become too predictable to go Ally bashing on this site nowadays. Take yesterday for example and the slaying of the team's performance by fans. I'm pretty sure the manager would have picked Cole, McCleod and Temmpleton if they had all been fit to play. I was far happier seeing McCulloch back shearing up our defence and whilst I'd still prefer to see Little playing as our central striker, there wasn't a lot McCoist could have done differently. Look at the bench and see what other options he had. Not many.

Oh yeah but they just punt the ball up the park and hope for the best I'll hear. That wasn't true and the opposition always flood their midfield and pack their defence against us and leave very little space for our midfielders to play. McCoist has given the youngsters every chance this season and Some times it has worked and some time not but I support his efforts totally for this. Some of them have just turned 18, are playing week in, week out against players who gear themselves up to make a name for themselves in four games of the season against Rangers and fans come on here and criticise them.

I'd like to see us win the league soon and for Ally to play as many as the younger players as he dares in the remaining fixtures and say to them go out and play and have fun expressing yourselves and don't worry about making mistakes. Ignore the boos and the taunts. Maybe the fans will start having more fun too.

Believable12 Unbelievable27

Gretna walked div3 - without any of the resources for gers, no internationalists, no spl-level players, and walked it 3-1 on average.

there is no comparison to the durge we seeing.

Agree12 Disagree3

Well that's a new one, the oppostion are treating it like FOUR cup finals now. How very dare they! And don't you think every domestic game is like that for both Rangers and Celtic? There are 6 or 7 internationalists in that squad that should be making this a relative breeze for the younger players.

Gaz

Agree9 Disagree1

I have got too disagree with you when one of our younger players finds form he drops them why? All this don't want too burn out the younger guys p$sh does not wash with me there so called "professional" footballers if playing a game a week tires them out they should just pack there bags the best players in the world don't want too miss a game and these teams are usually playing atleast twice a week. Our fitness levels are shocking I've questioned Rangers training regimes since Smith was in charge it's become embarrassing beating Elgin 1-0 away when East Stirling & Peterhead can score 6 & 7 goals. We can't take set pieces we can't defend set pieces. too say we couldn't have done much differently is a joke he had Hemmings McKay & Naismith on the bench yesterday when Black & Sandaza were woeful & done nothing too warrant a start in any game this season there is no desire in the team or the management staff we are on a sinking ship here CG needs to make a change soon or were going to continue to ship silly points or win ugly get chucked out the cups & sign total duds overpaid & overpriced because no one on Scotland will sell too Rangers cheap the coming seasons are going too be bloody hellish and I'm just sick of it no other club in the world would have kept McCoist after the performances & lack of Commitment his team have shown against part time outfits!

Agree8 Disagree0

I think our youth system and set up bringing young players through doesn't seem to be working. for example walsall set up smallest budgets in that league favourites to go down. chairman and good young manager dean smith said there's no way their going too buy their way out of league so set up from schools and youth system to bring players through watching football league show a lot of them went to school together brought them through together. you can do it with small budget if u have system in place from top to bottom which we don't have.

Agree3 Disagree0

I just hope that whoever takes over from Ally wants to get us playing entertaining football because the entertainment value of watching the team this season has been frankly pathetic most weeks.

Agree9 Disagree1

What name for themselve's, because they are playing Rangers, get a life these guy's work for a living and are out for a game of football.
Tam

Agree6 Disagree1

What 18 year old players are played week in week out? Lewis Mc!eod was the only one starting every week until his injury. McKay had been on the bench mostly and Crawford, Aird and Naismith haven't started many games. As for Cole think he had only started 1 game until he got injured. So I don't what u base that statement on? The performances have been shocking, he plays 1 of our top scores out of position week in week out, he plays 1 up front home and away and finally his signings have been woeful. It is easy to criticise him due to him being useless as a manager. If your happy with what your watching week in week out then you must be easily pleased. I like many other fans what to see my team play some good football and entertain. Don't think that's too much to ask for?

Agree3 Disagree0

Use some logic people, I totally agree that performances have been woeful but let's look at this with a bit of common sense eh

you can't compare us to Gretna or any other team in the division simply because we are completely different to any of them

It's a circus when Rangers come to town, the teams up their game and do all they can to take a dent out of the big boys, it's a completely different situation than any other team in the division has ever faced

Ally plays 5 in the middle to try to combat the increased effort of the opposition and to give our shoogly defence a bit more protection, which is why it's mainly set pieces that cause us grief

5 in midfield means you have to sacrifice a striker, Little is by far the most suited to go out wide so he goes out wide

The kids have done well but they can't be expected to carry the expectations of Rangers without the help of the experienced players

It's not a perfect situation but we're winning the league in March ffs, with a team thrown together at the last minute, it may not be perfect but it'll do me fine under the circumstances

Agree2 Disagree8

@8 we are up against part time PLAYERS. The team thrown together as you say contains Alexander, Wallace, Black, Shiels, McCulloch, Sandaza & Templeton all of whom have plenty SPL experience. Added to that Little & Hutton who have played at a much higher level than the 3rd division. Your argument just doesn't wash and yet again another fan who is happy to makes excuses for diabolical performances. The football should be improving as the season wears on not getting worse

Agree6 Disagree0

Good post look at annan yesterday losing to clyde these teams only up their game when rangers come calling

Agree0 Disagree6

@9 I'm not making any excuses, the games have been woeful to watch but after the last year do we really want to start complaining about quality?

Alexander, Wallace and Big Jig have been as solid as expected, Little and Hutton have came on leaps and bounds while Temps and Shiels have been hit and miss (literally more often than not), Sandaza tries but is let down by lack of support and Black has been a major let down in my opinion

Regardless of that it takes any team time to gel, Man City have took some beatings and have hardly looked like world beaters this season

I don't care if we're playing against milkmen and plumbers, they quite clearly raise their game against us, they have no expectations on them while Rangers have every scrutinizing eye on them

My point is that there are clear reasons why certain decisions are being made, it's beyond the pale in my opinion to get the pitchforks out without looking at the reasons and the context

We have lost 2 league games, drawn 6, sitting 20 points clear, have a goal difference advantage of +38 and could potentially be lifting the league trophy on the 23rd of March!

Is there another side in the world right now that can say that?

There was none of this earlier in the season when we were scudding teams for 5 or 6, or wiping the floor with Motherwell, you say teams are supposed to improve but like you say, we're playing against part timers, in cow fields infront of a dozen people, it's hard to stay motivated when the job is quite clearly done and dusted

Far from making excuses I'm just a tad more realistic than most, try it, it's less stressful

Agree0 Disagree3

@10 really? You can't play against a bunch of plumbers and carpenters who train maybe twice an evening? Wow your "manager" can't come up with a game plan to beat less talented, less fitter and earning far less than the pramadonnas in the newco team?

Wow your excuses are pretty p. s poor mate! What is it going to be like next season or even when you get back to the top tier (whatever it will be called) and you are struggling along? Because there is no way you are going forward with ally! But someone like you will have a whole new bag of excuses by then won't you!

Agree4 Disagree1

@12 Like I said I'm not making excuses, we should be playing better, we certainly should not be relying on the long ball

If you, and others, can just for a minute look through the blinkers, I'm assuming they're green in your case, at the problems the 'newco' are facing then there are easy to see reasons and answers

talent and fitness are a factor I'll give you, earnings aren't, like I said before Man City are hardly setting the world alight despite their multiple 200k a week superstars

The main problem is motivation in my opinion, the game against Motherwell should beyond doubt what we can do and let's look into that a bit more

The first game against an SPL side since we left the league, everybody writing us off, no real expectation and everything to prove, yet we wiped the floor with them

Kinda like a tiny wee club, say Stirling Albion or Annan Athletic just for instance, wanting their time in the limelight, trying that extra wee bit harder than usual, running a bit faster for a bit longer, chasing balls they wouldn't usually go for, going in for tackles a bit harder, just generally putting more passion in due to the spectacle and the occasion

I'm sure you'll still see all of that as an excuse but if I have made any excuses then please let me make just one again

We have lost 2 league games, drawn 6, sitting 20 points clear, have a goal difference advantage of +38 and could potentially be lifting the league trophy on the 23rd of March

Is there another side in the world right now that can say that?

Agree0 Disagree3

surely now the league is a cert we should be playing Gallagher in goal to give him some game time and to blood one or two of the young fringe players who normally play in the reserves.
That is what NORMAL coaches do to see what they have an who is up for it.
Remember young Derek Johnstone? yes 16 years old when he got his chance, and boy did he take it!

Tam

IF as Ally is saying that we will be playing youth players in the first 4 league games of next season then your spot on Gallagher must start playing in goals. McKay must be given a run and hopefully McLeod will get a few games too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tam- you can't be serious surely? Lose the league as a result of playing Gallacher? You or I could play in goal from now to the end of season and we would still win the league. Even if we never won another game there is no way Queens Park will win every game. Give the boy a chance and let's see what he can do. It's highly likely he will be our number 1 choice at the start of next season
