I agree best of luck Wes although my heart is glad I won't have to worry every time the ball got close to your feet what was going to happen. Joking aside some of the saves he pulled off were outstanding and his distribution was top drawer. He helped us get back and will always be part of us.

My only comment regarding all of our keepers of late, is that I need to see one that will come out and gather crosses in and around the 6 yard box, good shot stoppers are okay, but it is always better to stop the need by commanding your area. The new guy looks like he will fill the bill in that respect, I wouldn't assume that Greegsy will be an automatic 1st choice this season, this will not be a season for any sentimentality, consistency will be the key to players retaining their positions.

Anyone share my opinion to Sell Morelos? If we hold onto him and he contributes to us winning the league without being sent off for disciplinary reasons I'll take back what I say! I would like to enjoy the good side of his game and admit he has potential to be a Rangers idol but the way he has let my club down, I find it hard to swallow and accept him again! Is it just me? I see my own people speak so highly of him like he's of the same regard as mccoist, hately, jelavic etc! Truth is his discipline / attitude / selfishness have cost us so badly! I don't hate him, he's a Ger, but I just cannot forgive him. He has to earn that trust back!

Should have been sold in January and replaced, what he did removes his name from any hero status, he stopped, simple as that and Stevie made a massive mistake with the hearts cup game and thereafter, should have played in the cup game and been punted shortly after, instead he ruined the season, and the penalty kick was another ridiculous decision to allow him to take it.

It was great to see Mayo, Paterson and McCrorie get their chance against Lyon. Each of them played well and over time will have bright futures. I just hope that Kennedy hasn't burned his bridges and has a way back to show what he can offer for Rangers.

Heard that on Superscoreboard earlier. A Celtic fan claims it shows bias from the SPFL even though there's nothing they can do about it.
He also claimed that Ryan Kent didn't get any ban for the Scott Brown incident last season and failed to believe it when he was repeatedly informed he was given a two match ban. Talk about believe what you want to believe.

Not sure what you guys all think but with a few good signings in the right positions I think could be the year.
We look good all over the pitch but burn out through season. We dominated Celtic last year in all games but only managed 1 win out of 3. Celtic really don't look that great at all certainly not 13 points better than us.
Looking at the team sheet i'd say we are covered for all positions except CM (Getting Old), RW (No Quality) and ST (Need more cover and Quality) . The question marks are where I see us being thin on ground and may require additional cover;
• GK - McGregor/ Mclaughlin/ McCrorie
• RB - Tavernier/ Patterson (Y) /?
• LB - Barisic/ Bassey
• CB - Goldson/ Edmundson/ Helander/ Katic/ Mayo (Y)
• CDM -Jack/ McCrorie/ Kamara
• CM - Davis/ Arfield/ Aribo/ Hagi/ Kennedy (Y) / Zunga?
• LW - Kent/ Jones
• RW - Stewart/ Barker/ Diangana?
• ST - Morelos/ Defoe/ Stewart/ Roofe? / Marik?
• CM position could maybe do with another high-quality player. I think Davis and Arfield are ageing and won't last full season schedule but Hagi looks like a good signing, would also be nice to see Kennedy break in as heard good things about him
o Zunga looks like he could be coming in to the CM position and looks like a decent player. I think this would be a good signing looks solid.
o I would love to get that Lovro Majer from Dinamo Zagreb we were linked with last year he looks like a proper CM/ AM he could be a future captain of Croatia and would mix well with Katic and Barasic.
• RW just needs to be better Barker looked good in burst last night but not consistent and the others just not good enough.
o Id like us to push for that boy Diangana he really has a lot of pace and willing to take people on he would do well in Scotland and is head and shoulders better than what we have in that position
• ST is a tough one as I think Morelos will go if money comes in, I hope he stays. Defoe is good support but not leading the line we need at least one more quality signing.
o I think Roofe would do a great job in this league and has just been transfer listed so wants to leave clearly.
o We were linked in January with a boy called Mirko Marik from Osijec. He scored 18 in 36 games last season and has a decent discipline record with a good opportunity to develop and get future value for us
What are your thoughts on these potential signings/ rumours? I think if morelos stays we need mix of 3 out of the 5 if he goes we get all 5 plus others re-invest all of the morelos transfer fee to stop celtic
• Bongani Zungu - £1.8M and/ or Lovro Majer - £3M
• Grady Diangana - Loan
• Kemar Roofe - £3.8m and/ or Mirko Marik - £3M.

Aye apparently it would be a 2 game domestic ban if the ref reports it to the French FA. Wonder what will happen? I think we all know. Funny thing is I immediately thought that a ban would be the case as soon as I saw the red card. Seem to remember a red card for one of our players in a friendly years ago having the same outcome. Tbh it was a bit of a joke but the players really need to know that this kind of reaction is not acceptable as the refs, especially at home, will be looking for any excuse.

I obviously did not know it was an automatic two game ban for a red regardless of a friendly or not, that is why I posted this one.
Liwell has nothing to do wi Kent's stupidity but if he has any say in the outcome of a ban you can bet he will make sure he gets it, that's going by the past suspected corruption in the SPFL by Dumbcaster Liewell and his back pocket cronies.

I personally think SG will play both goal keepers quite a bit during this season coming, McGregor seems to be more susceptible to injury also because of his age, good to know we have a good second keeper, as WEs will move on shortly I would imagine.

Ive always thought you should get 3 1st choice subs and a development sub as a way of introducing youth players into the set up and SFA UEFA abd FIFA should all encourage that how many teams have had to play 10 men through np fault of there own only that they used 3 subs and someone got injured that's when your academy star should get his time to shine.

Also thought big george 'the fridge' edmundson was superb against lyon last night. As i've said on here before, although i like nikola katic, i think edmundson will be the better all round centre half of the two.
Michael beale our first team coach said several months back, that he thought edmundson was potentially the best centre half at ibrox! To compare edmundson and katic, i think edmundson is better as he's quicker, better positional sense, not as erratic, doesn't get caught out of position as much, he stands up 'till the very last minute!

Edmundson is far from finished article however I've been impressed with him when he's in the side. Would like to see him show a little bit more agression (get a bit tighter) to opponent at times as he can sometimes stand off a little. Overall looks the part tho.

SGL the last time you sang Edmundson's praises I agreed with your points and still do. However, he is very much still a work in progress. While he is probably the quickest of the four, he is still slow to react in the first place, he also needs to learn to open up his shoulders when someone tries to turn him on the ground or on the air, which with his style of standing off slightly would make his body more of a 'wall', and his defensive heading could be much better. These are all technical issues that the coaches will iron out with the lad, who is indeed shaping up to be a real player. And watch out for Mayo, I don't say much about young players, but this is a boy I have liked since I saw him at 16. He has all the talent required to be a first team player and is the reason why I don't think we'll be actively looking to bring in another centre back.

A wee word on our new castore home top.
After watching us playing against lyon last night for the first time in our very impressive may i add, new kit, is it just me or does anyone else think our new top is a darker royal blue, than tops of previous years of late 🤔? It definitely looks a darker royal blue to me and more like the darker royal blue home tops we wore in the 70's and early 80's etc.
Back to old tradition me thinks! 👌👍 What do my fellow bears think? 🤔.

I think the new strip is awesome, I’ve been really impressed with the castore range, I wasn’t sure about what to expect from castore when the deal was announced, but they’ve certainly delivered! 😀.

I know we can't say anything for sure in what happens in football, but i'm going to predict what i think here anyway. I said in a reply post a couple of days ago that ryan kent has the undoubted ability to be the scottish player of the year, this coming season.
Although you can't get carried away, as it was only a friendly last night agsinst lyon, he looked easily the best player on the obviously before his very soft sending off.
He looks very hungry and i think he will be scottish player of the year this coming season, as he undoubtedly has the talent! I think kenty will be superb for us this year and will give us a terrific chance of winning the league!,

I agree coop, every team has big game players that step up and the team looks to them to carry the fight, last year I thought it looked like Kent was a deer in the headlights in some games.
And even though I've slagged coldo off for his continuous support of Kent I've always agreed there's a good player there, I hope Gerrard has drummed it into him that Kent is our big game player and we look to him to deliver in games.
I thought the red was soft in a friendly when he was slapped twice to begin with but other than that I thought Kent looked well up for it, hopefully as u say coop much more to come this season.

He deserved to go as you can’t react like that, yes it was soft but still a red and it’s not the 1st time he has done it either.
Our team seems to have a problem with this and SG has to eradicate it immediately.

SGL, I think guys like Kent, Kamara, Aribo are all fantastic talents but in the second half of last season they suffered from the Ibrox boo boys. The crowd, particularly against SPL teams we think we should be steam rolling, can be quite unforgiving. If the team is not winning after 20mins the anxiety of the crowd transcends onto the pitch. Some of them need to be a bit mentally tougher. It’s not because of a lack of ability they go into their shell.
Playing in front of empty stadiums might actually suit some of our players lol.

Defo agree, we seen the season before last how good he was, maybe the price tag and expectation was a bit much for him last season, I'm hoping there's a few other new signings brought in and that'll ease the pressure a bit on him and he'll shine! definitely predict a massive season from Kent.

4 things That delighted me about the game against Lyon, 1. Gerrard played a 4-2-3-1, 2. Ryan Kent played on the right hand side,3. Hagi played in the middle,4 I feel far better about stopping Celtic with that new keeper here in place of foderingham, he will actually push mcgregor for the starting slot, he played well 🤔.

McLaughlin had a great game mate, I wasn't so sure but he handled himself well and I didn't actually realise how much of a unit he is, he takes up nearly the whole goalmouth! It'll be hard beating him when he's playing.

Looked really good tonight. I honestly wouldn't mind morelos going I love him but first game back and he was piping up again. Brandon barker exactly were have you been haha he was immense tonight pace that really could match the top players in the game strength has clearly been worked on and his control. Hope it wasn't just one game. Early days but looking good.

How was he piping up again? so all the hold up play and tormenting defenders means nothing to you. i tell you now, he will be a difficult striker to replace. if you were to replace like for like on ability it will cost more than we will make. be careful what you wish for.
