Wee idea here guys, clearly it won't happen but Macclesfield town were wound up today owing debts of more than half a million pounds. Would it not be a great move by rangers to go in and buy the club for the outstanding debts and transfer the so-called "b squad" to play in the national league in England with our youngsters and fringe players transferring to this other club under the umbrella of a rangers football group similar to that of red bull and of Man City . Would that not be a great move. I'm aware of the legal hurdles regarding owning 2 clubs in 1 continent
Etc but they have now clearly been overcome by others so it can be done. What's other bears thoughts on this?

16 Sep 2020 16:49:13
Stevie G's new club if we don't n #55.

16 Sep 2020 17:12:13
Sounds a bit football manager mate tbh. Am
Not qualified to answer that but in theory it’s a great ideas lol 👍.

16 Sep 2020 17:33:55
Sounds a great idea but like you say probably to many legal obstacles to overcome. Would have been able to send players like McCrorie and Docherty there and give them the game time they need to develop rather than sell them for peanuts.

16 Sep 2020 17:46:20
Man City owners own more that one club in the same continent.

Don’t think the English FA would allow it.

16 Sep 2020 21:10:25
Agreed to every comment above guys but red bull own in Austria and Germany (Europe) Man City own girona I think again (Europe) it’s do-able. And it’s the kind of thing we should be looking at. For a little more than the price of Ross McCrorie we could have 1 foot in English football and our youngsters have the platform perform and or impress and sell. I’m no more than a fan but if I had half a foot in the door at Ibrox I’d be shouting this from the rooftop.

16 Sep 2020 22:19:43
I think the way things are going there will be clubs higher up the pecking order if we were to go down that route.
Would shorten the route to EPL, but we would still need ££££ to make sure we get there.

17 Sep 2020 11:31:01
Stevie g is worth about 50million. I'm sure he could buy it. As I said ages ago, I believe Stevie g made a personal deal between Liverpool and RFC for the purchase of Kent. He could easily help finance any deal. going to pump em the night.

16 Sep 2020 13:26:57
With the European tie being a one leg tie does the away goals rule still count 'not that we should need it in this round .

16 Sep 2020 13:58:27
No it doesn't count👍.

16 Sep 2020 14:00:19
If they draw sure it goes to extra time G man.

16 Sep 2020 16:12:45
I'd be worried for our season if we draw with a side from Gibraltar.

16 Sep 2020 17:20:02
If we draw after 90 mins we deserve papped oot anyway 😂😂.

16 Sep 2020 19:27:48
Cheers for the reply.

16 Sep 2020 19:30:40
Last I seen Willem II skelping Progres, looks like our next opponents.

16 Sep 2020 20:18:28
5-0 to Willem. Apparently another away tie if we beat the imps. Buffalo fit and raring to go!

16 Sep 2020 12:36:18
Out of all players linked for us in midfield

I would really like to see zungu

From what I've seen of him his range of passed looks awesome

Think I'd eat my hat if he came and was rubbish

I'm not a scout 😂 just a gut feeling he would be good
And I m not sure about this boy from Preston But if our scouts think he's good hopefully they have done real homework on him
Considering some of the flops we've had over past couple years and players coming in and not doing it

Anyone else have any thoughts on potential signing of johnstone from Preston?

16 Sep 2020 14:04:46
The boy Johnson from Preston fits the bill perfect for me, especially because he can play as a 6.8 or 10 scoring 12 goals and 8 assists in a league that is probably the most competitive league around is really good going especially when he’s playing with PNE, all due respect there not even a top 6 team in that league so a would be happy to get that one done, is it me or do you think rangers could be doing with a player that’s got a bit more physical presence about them.

16 Sep 2020 16:22:27
Agreed deano. From what I have seen and heard he fits the bill and would be a cracking addition. Footage I have seen reminds me of sone aluko except through the middle and can see a pass. I’m all for that. As I said earlier. Get jones in the deal, try get the fee down a bit and go for it. Can’t stand all this messing abt with vids etc.

16 Sep 2020 16:47:29
12th man. a would put jones in the deal aswel plus the 2mil that would definitely be enough wouldn’t pay anymore for someone who is in the last year of there contract.

16 Sep 2020 17:13:08
Deffo mate. Get the job done 👍.

16 Sep 2020 17:48:05
I am not fussed about Johnson to be honest but we’ll get behind him if we do sign him.

16 Sep 2020 11:43:17
I know we are in for Daniel Johnson at Preston but I think mijo caktas would be a great addition with better goalscoring form and 2 croatians already at the club would be a better fit and something different for us to use as I think Johnson too like aribo.

16 Sep 2020 12:06:06
I hope to god he's nothing like aribo👍.

16 Sep 2020 12:23:26
Why's that coldo?

16 Sep 2020 12:27:58
Coldo, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or serious anymore.

16 Sep 2020 12:32:53
Coldo, did you know there's only 5 players currently at the club who have scored more goals for us than Joe Aribo?

16 Sep 2020 12:35:39
Why don’t we offer jones in a deal for Johnson? He’s surplus to requirements and would bring the transfer fee down a bit. Just a thought. From I have watched and heard he would fit in to our shape. Also think we missed an opportunity with the boy dorsch. Cracking played. His passing stays Wer through the roof.

16 Sep 2020 12:52:42
Kinda agree coldo.

16 Sep 2020 12:55:11
Cant agree with you there coldo. I enjoy watching aribo.

16 Sep 2020 13:23:45
Countless pundits, coaches, players and media all saying the same including Kevin Thomson saying aribo is going to be the difference this season for us and he's going to be 1 of our most influential players and a real talent.

But ofcourse coldo we will all take your opinion as gospel here, what a load of rubbish you talk.

16 Sep 2020 13:23:53
We need players who move the ball quick. Aribo is far too slow at moving it, holds up our play. We have been playing a lot better and quicker without him. I don't think we will miss jack and I can't say we have missed morelos either. Balogun is the only injured player that would make our first eleven stronger just now. Kamara and davis should be our midfield two. Both hagi and barker move it quicker than aribo and you can see that in our play recently. I don't think barker is the long term answer but our play is certainly quicker without aribo. 👍.

16 Sep 2020 13:34:08
Not sure your correct about Balogun being a better option than Helander, it’s early days to make that call, not seem enough of Balogun yet to access properly, and Helander did well last match. Also Aribo has improved this season, could be a good signing.

16 Sep 2020 13:36:10
Have to agree to an extent with coldo, we are moving the ball quicker last few games. Is Aribo the problem, not sure.
As for the lad Johnson, I only saw highlights but did he do anything of note other than score the penalty the other night?

16 Sep 2020 13:46:24
coaches said that ojo was going to be a star, hence a 5 year deal at liverpool. The same pundits and coaches told us last year that morelos would be the difference. Have you got a point gazza? let's face it gazza countless pundits players media coaches have been wrong countless times. 👍.

16 Sep 2020 13:51:42
Coldo, you think Aribo is too slow moving the ball?

Have you seen the time it takes for Goldson and Helander to move it forward? They constantly pass it back and forth between them and back to goalie as if it was a case of "you take it, no you take it. They are going to get caught out soon and it will cost us.

16 Sep 2020 13:57:18
As soon as aribo is fit. aribo in hagi out. as soon as jack is fit. kamara out, jack in. that's clear as day the gaffers preferred choices 👍.

16 Sep 2020 14:03:06
Aswell as yourself included in that coldo.

My point was simple I'll definately trust their word over yours 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Did I touch a never there coldyboy?

16 Sep 2020 14:03:22
Can't disagree there jim. What I will say is that Aribo will not be the difference this season. 👍.

16 Sep 2020 14:54:00
Bar 72. He only came on 76mins so probs no time to make an impact. Looks pretty decent to me.

16 Sep 2020 15:03:50
“We won’t miss Morelos”👍👀
But the same poster said “we played a lot better against Dundee when Morelos came on”🤔🤦‍♂️👍👀
Now where did I put that sarcasm emoji🤔😂😂😂.

16 Sep 2020 17:23:43
I guess it's all about opinions but over the season I think aribo will contribute a great deal. Not really sure aribo really slows down the play either. Has the team played with more pace the last couple of games? Yes but I think that's more to do with the whole team finding form.

16 Sep 2020 17:49:47
Aribo is a great player and should be a starter when he is fit.

16 Sep 2020 18:14:49
I'm not sure its just that grumpy, davis Kamara have been moving the ball forward quicker, one touch pass, That's the type of players they are. Aribo is the type that likes time on the ball and against teams that are sitting, moving it quick is a must.

No nerve touched gazza, just blowing your opinion to bits that because a coach media player say's something it must be true. Did the thumbs up touch a nerve😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.

16 Sep 2020 20:04:09
I like your thinking jazzy, but its a prickly subject just now, they might not bring anyone from caktaz neck of the woods in case there's a spike in C.V.,

16 Sep 2020 10:58:12
Why is there always complications around rangers possible new signings. Daniel Johnston the latest, Preston left him out of Swansea match to enable him to transfer to us. As usual nothing. So he plays and scores for preston last night thus increasing his value.

16 Sep 2020 11:06:13
He came on as a sub and scored a pen I think someone said on here, I don't think it would add any more value to him to be honest, he's also out of contract next summer. 👍.

16 Sep 2020 11:06:24
I don't think scoring a goal in the Carabao Cup would increase his value to be fair but it does seem like our transfers always drag on. I can only presume it's purely negotiations with Preston wanting the best deal for them and us wanting the best deal for us.

16 Sep 2020 11:30:04
How do you know for sure we are interested?

16 Sep 2020 12:06:48
Apparently Zungu on loan is another deal we are trying, do you really want to pay clubs asking prices and rush into deals i mean Pena Herrera.

16 Sep 2020 12:07:07
Because Glasgow live said so barrowlad👍.

16 Sep 2020 12:11:00
Maybe because the manager is in Gibraltar with the team, getting ready for a European tie?

16 Sep 2020 12:13:55
I think the simple answer to that is that signing players is not easy. It’s not like on champ manager when you stick in a bid, click a button and then the computer says they’ve signed. There’s so many variables and complications involved in any transfer, especially nowadays when agents get involved and have so much say. Just as an example, if you watch the current Tottenham Hotspur documentary on Amazon, Daniel Levy is talking about just that and how complex transfer negotiations actually are and how it’s almost amazing that any manage to actually get done nowadays. It’s quite an interesting insight.
Plus as Barrowlad says, how do we know we’re actually actively trying to sign him? Yes the papers say so (but they’ll say anything to fill column inches) . All we really know is he’s apparently one of a list of players we are considering.

16 Sep 2020 13:05:26
DotheBouncy, Gerrard and the team being in Gibraltar will have no affect on signings happening. Both Roofe and Itten signed when Gerrard was in Germany for the Leverkusen game. The manager isn’t the one who deals with signings, that’s what Wilson and his team are there for. The manager states to the board and director of football what he needs in terms of players, they go and compile a list which they bring back to the manager, he states who he’d prefer, director of football goes and negotiates to try to sign.

16 Sep 2020 16:08:56
Always complications? Really?
McLaughlin, Balogun, Bassey, Roofe, Itten.
All of these guys came in pretty much before anyone
Knew there Was interest.
If anything we have been slick with recent transactions. Do you think that it could be other clubs who are dragging things out when it’s not going their way?
Preston don’t want Johnson to go but only has 1 year left so they want him to stay or get as much cash as possible. If you make other clubs aware that he might leave then they may bid too. Press release = bidding war = more cash.

16 Sep 2020 16:48:02
Always complicated my arse, a signing has many legal aspects and we don’t have a clue about any problems or the players situation, nor do we have to pay whatever pne say, it’s called negotiation, and in any case nobody knows if Rangers are actually talkino with Preston do they.

16 Sep 2020 18:02:18
Yep scoring a goal last night in the cup put another £5.10 onto his value.

16 Sep 2020 20:13:22
aye kj, you couldn't make it up.

16 Sep 2020 23:37:10
Zungu will be a free transfer I'm sure, he said he doesn't play for Amiens anymore the other day on twitter. The boy seems more interested in posting pictures of himself on Instagram "Gangsta" 🤔 might turn out a decent signing as clips of him I have seen seem decent, always the same tho with clips 👍.

17 Sep 2020 11:47:13
Tuguy Amiens still hold his registration, he is the one who says he does not and will not play for them.
He was not fit enough to under go a medical in July, can’t see him being fit if we tried to sign him now.
He would take months to get match ready imo. Too risky.

16 Sep 2020 10:27:57
Always knew Barry McKay would make a barber its like his passing game he likes a short back and sides.

16 Sep 2020 06:25:42
If we draw over there tonight us it a return leg or just play till there is a winner? I have also heard we have been lended a super yatch for the players to stay on from one of our wealthy fans in Gibraltar. Very good gesture.

16 Sep 2020 06:52:29
It’s tomorrow night mate.

16 Sep 2020 08:23:30
4pm tomorrow.

16 Sep 2020 08:51:11
its one leg play to a finsish Ibrox.

16 Sep 2020 13:36:23
We are not drawing it’s a win so little point in that question.

16 Sep 2020 05:36:06
Is fransergio available? I liked him against us in the Braga game age 29 CAM various sites got him at 4.4M.

16 Sep 2020 06:54:23
You may well be right mate, but I know one thing, nobody on here will know if he’s available, need another signing though.

16 Sep 2020 08:53:30
What abt asking Barcelona to loan the kid trim ya to is that played v us for braga. He was a player. Can play down the right and in mf. He can’t get a game. Not sure if he’s loaned out already right enough.

16 Sep 2020 08:59:41
There is a guy called Bale that could play up top on the right, he’s available lol
Half a million a week in wages WTF. How do you even spend that?!

16 Sep 2020 10:15:22
Hey. Build a contract like we did with pool for Kent 18m over 5 years and ask him to play for buck shee if we hive him free gold anywhere in Scotland. 😂👍.

16 Sep 2020 11:07:57
I'd give it a right good go scotty👍.

16 Sep 2020 11:12:51
The12thman Trincao only arrived in Barcelona in the summer and their season hasn't started yet. The deal was done in January and he was loaned back to Braga until the end of the season.

16 Sep 2020 12:40:20
Chz mocbear. Didn’t know.

16 Sep 2020 12:41:27
My typos are getting worse. Sorry guys lol.

16 Sep 2020 16:50:24
Scotty, have you any idea how much tax that wage has attached,

16 Sep 2020 18:05:29
12th man Trincao We wouldn’t get him he has just signed and will be looking to get into 1st 11.

How can he not get a game when they have played a competitive game yet? He started in a friendly the other day for him.

16 Sep 2020 00:00:43
On a sombre note and I'm sure there are many people who flick through or use this rangers forum who are also racing fans, like myself, sad news tonight that legendary Irish jockey Pat Smullen has passed away at 43 years of age, pat had pancreatic cancer and, like my own young brother found that the worst of cancers, A fantastic and gifted jockey who reached the pinnacle of horse racing many times and fought hiss challenge with incredible courage,

Thanks for the winners Paddy, and the memories.
