Watching live coverage of scotland v england U21s. Solanka playing for England does not look anything special and the ginger Maldini has him under control.

17 Oct 2018 16:46:49
What was the Score?

16 Oct 2018 19:06:11
Hope Arfields injury not to serious.

17 Oct 2018 12:22:39
It"s a hamstring injury by all accounts. Let's hope it"s just a tweak. Knowing our luck he will be out for 3-4 months.

17 Oct 2018 23:01:38
Aye seeker if it wasn't for bad luck sometimes we would have no luck at all to coin a phrase.

16 Oct 2018 17:38:28
Greaves are now selling home tops! So much for the Ashley stopping the sale of merchandise rumours started by the east end clowns.

16 Oct 2018 19:14:05
Greaves supported our boycott of the fat man last season, good Glasgow company.

16 Oct 2018 17:09:48
Watched Sam Gallagher at Blackburn Rovers two seasons ago when he was on loan, never good enough for Rangers, tall lad but very rarely won a ball in the air, would not be anywhere good enough.

16 Oct 2018 16:06:47
First post. Long time follower. got to say I'm chuffed gazza has had an outstanding comeback to the sfa plums. Absolute outrage to treat one of the best players ever to play in Scotland like that. Typical behind the scenes bitterness and manipulation at top level yet again showing why the Scottish game is suffering in many ways (except us in Europe hahaha), so go oan yersel Gazza you'll always be loved by blue half of Scotland, you've showed your class yet again, one of the greats, take a bow W. A. T. P.

16 Oct 2018 19:35:50
Agree PHQ, love him sending out clip of wonder goal he scored against against Scotland at Euro 96. Fantastic, was at Wembley that day and was as stunned as Andy Goram.

17 Oct 2018 12:22:25
One of the best players ever to play in Scotland?, shows your age and your manipulation by the media, wonder goal?, was it not Colin Hendry that was trying to close him down?, that guy would make anyone look good, don't get me wrong, a younger Gasgoine was a very talented player, but an older one then joined Rangers and was given no help to curb his demons by the team that drinks together wins together, or whatever it was culture that prevailed at Ibrox, and the hopeless disciplinarian that was Walter Smith, worst thing for Gasgoine personally was going to that sort of set up, there have been many players just as good and better in Scotland, through the years, who didn't have the celebrity status of Gasgoine, but as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

17 Oct 2018 15:25:28
aindoh, I know facts won't resonate with you and presume you prefer the team from the east-end with two badges, but here goes.

one of the best players to ever play in Scotland?

Gazza was voted PFA Scotland Players' Player of the Year and SFWA Footballer of the Year, having ran the length of the pitch with the ball to score against the ultimate runners-up to the league that season. Some describing it as "a better goal than the one against Scotland at Euro '96".

So aye, "one of the best ever players to play in scotland"!

wonder goal?

Gazza chipped the ball over Colin Hendry, who a year before had won the EPL and would go on to win the Scottish league title on two occassions, then volleyed it past "the goalie", enough said!

so, now that's clear, the next time you find yourself standing with folks wearing stripey jerseys, singing songs of a made-up history and fantasising about jelly. and ice-cream. STOP and think I don't need to do this for I am BRITISH!

17 Oct 2018 19:54:54
Ain-doughball, the hopeless disciplinarian that is Walter Smith. Gazza raves about Walter smiths man management of him and how Walter and his wife went way above and beyond to help him and try your keep him on the straight and narrow. Check your facts before you post nonsence ya balloon 🎈🎈🎈.

16 Oct 2018 14:37:15
The Seeker . You wouldn’t have relations in NI by any chance, if not we’ll make you an honourary Ulsterman, what better a Scot and an Ulsterman, we share the same history anyway.

16 Oct 2018 21:21:04
No connections to NI as far as I know Ulsterman. An honorary Ulsterman sounds fine by me! I'm a big fan of the country 👍🖒🖒.

16 Oct 2018 14:27:35
Bankie, George Best was a Rangers fan, the reasons he didn’t sign for us was Man Utds scout Bob Bishop ask him first, he was an avid bluenose from the Creggah Road in East Belfast, that is a well known fact over here. As you say Bankie, he was an amazing talent and NI certainly could do with him now lol. Rangers will always attract great young players from everywhere because they have the greatest fans in the world.

16 Oct 2018 12:41:26
Sweep1 tell that too supercoopereleven who ask for a poll of the best midfielder and he mentioned George Best,

16 Oct 2018 10:21:30
Scotland manager

Alex Ferguson

Assistant

Walter Smith

Back room staff

Barry Ferguson
Alex Neil?

16 Oct 2018 11:06:02
Both have already said they have no interest in coming out of retirement. Barry Ferguson hasn't a chance of getting job with the SFA.

16 Oct 2018 11:48:39
Barry Ferguson is currently linked with the managerial vacancy of Lowland League side Kelty Hearts according to the media.

16 Oct 2018 08:48:24
Best midfielder/ striker/ winger, George Best was the most gifted player I have ever seen, he made such a fool of Peter Storey at Windsor Park the guy was crying with anger and was pulled off. Baxter was fabulous Bobby Moore was Mr Majestic but Besty was just an enigma ( one off ) pity he lost it so young. We still revere him in NI Protestant and Catholic alike.

16 Oct 2018 11:06:48
This has nothing to do with rangers. This is a rangers page.

16 Oct 2018 12:03:34
Personally I see it as as rangers fans banter page. If you are not happy with the discussion don't engage. simples.
Agree Best is a world 11 player.

16 Oct 2018 13:25:57
Best was a genius, pure and simple!

16 Oct 2018 13:40:34
Wish he had been ranger! Heard Bud Johnston tell story how he was appraoached as a youth by Man U and turned them down in favour of Rangers. A few weeks later Man U signed George Best.

16 Oct 2018 17:38:10
We should have signed him, rather than let Hibs get him.

16 Oct 2018 19:19:30
He was about 46 years old and stone when he played for Hibs. I know we were poor for a period back then but I’m not sure if he would have helped.

16 Oct 2018 22:01:11
Seen him with Hibs, he was still different class.

16 Oct 2018 22:28:06
No doubt - but not a shadow of his best. Had he been he’d not have been playing in Scotland for Hibs.

It was around that time that Dumbarton were allegedly after Cruyff. Evening Times reported they were going to pay him £2k a week.

16 Oct 2018 08:03:06
As we're all talking about the absolute shocking decision, the SFA took, regarding not inducting our wonderful, world class midfielder, the one and only, paul gascoigne,
into the scottish hall of fame, i've a difficult question here for all to get their teeth into.
Could you please run a poll ED, regarding who was the better midfielder between, paul gascoigne, george best, paul scholes and jim baxter? Cheers ED, if you don't mind!

Better Midfielder Poll

16 Oct 2018 08:18:01
Come on supercooper you can’t be serious with that poll. George Best all the way. Frequently discussed in best ever world 11s the other 3 never get a look in. I’ve heard Dave Mackay’s name mentioned more in world 11 teams than the other 3.

16 Oct 2018 08:55:15
Having Scholes in the same midfield as the other three is a joke. Gazza was brilliant and Slim Jim a class act but no other player on the planet could lace Best's boots. He was a one-off, the best-ever.

16 Oct 2018 09:24:17
No doubt about it the late great george best was some player! But IMO,
paul gascoigne wasn't far behind him! Even the great pele lauded gazza from the rooftops and summed up gazza, by saying he was a brazilian in an england shirt! Some endorsement from the great pele, don't you think?

16 Oct 2018 10:19:19
Yeah, but then he "starred" in "Escape To Victory"😂😂😂.

16 Oct 2018 10:33:12
Gazza wasn’t the same player after his injury in the fa cup final, brilliant player for rangers but not in the same class as best! The pitches best had to play on back then we’re shocking and some of the tackles on him were gbh! If he was around now we’re your hardly aloud to tackle he would be unstoppable.

16 Oct 2018 12:22:11
Had the pleasure of seeing all these great players. Goes without saying how fantastic George Best was but I'll always have a soft spot for Slim Jim.

16 Oct 2018 13:28:47
Aye Gazza was world class, no doubt, but George Best was even a cut above that, if you know what I mean.

16 Oct 2018 17:13:37
Doiger

Do you rate Best better than Pele or Maradona?

16 Oct 2018 21:17:27
I rate Best higher than both Pale and Maradona. Tbh i think Messi is the best player who ever lived. George Best is next on my list.

16 Oct 2018 22:01:43
Have to go with Maradona as best I’ve seen.
