Watched Benfica game again and crying out for a Ross McCrorie in the final 20 minutes to inject athleticism and physical edge to close the game out.

16 Nov 2020 23:52:40
That’s a very good shout bankie. I e still not seen th game mate I went to my pals n she didn’t have it on total waste was raging but anyway. I said McCrorie was/ is a great player for Europe and old firm he’s a similar player in that defensive mid role to bus quest in his physique and style. Can’t believe he didn’t make the grade as he’s a great player.

17 Nov 2020 03:34:07
Don't get that bankie, Rangers had plenty players to close it out, on the pitch and the bench, it was 2 minutes man, surely we had players capable of holding out for 2 minutes, ? If your saying memories was the only player who could see the game out then we're not a good team at all, because mcrorie was about 8th on the midfield pecking order, nope fraid that's just pish mate,

17 Nov 2020 07:14:08
We should have closed it out without the need for McCrorie.
Airfield should never have released 3ball forward that he did and we could have broken play up with z couple more subs.

17 Nov 2020 07:55:17
Why is there always a rush to look at negatives, we are in great shape in a good group, and flying in the league, we have identified the need to be smarter in our game management, and I wouldn't think it will happen again. Inwards and Upwards for us.

17 Nov 2020 09:21:06
So McCrorie is to sit on a bench most of the season until we need him for a 20 minutes every so often, boy has a career to think about.

17 Nov 2020 09:24:54
McCrorie isn't good enough. Even if he hadn't been moved on he wouldn't have made the European squad. Honestly, the urge to remember players as better than they actually were is holding you back from seeing facts! We would have gladly accepted the draw in Benfica pre-match and the fact that a draw has pissed us off shows how far we have actually come!

17 Nov 2020 10:50:16
Sorry lads, I’m struggling to see what all this fuss is about with McCrorie. Average player at best who lost his man twice at the goals in the recent semi at Hampden. We’ve conceded seven goals this season and are dictating games better than before, so why all the fuss? Would he get anywhere near the squad?

17 Nov 2020 11:17:17
After an Old Firm game remember Gerrard saying McCrorie was an animal out their today, he covered every inch and broke up play all over the pitch, he was a special player out their today.

17 Nov 2020 11:41:24
Do the bouncy mccrorie was a shoe in for Europa league squad, learn the rules re home grown players.

17 Nov 2020 11:59:49
Banking and more recently mccrorie helped cost Aberdeen goals at hampden!

17 Nov 2020 13:49:40
John25, I know the rules. Do you really think a man who wanted away from a manager who doesn't rate him would have made the squad? Grow up, dry your eyes and accept that he's just not that good.

17 Nov 2020 15:34:05
Do the bouncy I believe u knew the rules, always a first I suppose.

17 Nov 2020 16:29:36
Ffs I have heard it all know McCrorie would have got us the win 🙈.

17 Nov 2020 17:42:48
kJ ah no it’s great what some think, as I have written before as much as I liked Ross he is not the standard we require.
I wish him well though.

17 Nov 2020 18:10:05
Do the bouncy course he would have made the squad. Weve not been able to name a full quota for europa due to homegrown rule, mcrorie in one of free spaces as homegrown. learn the rules as u clearly don't know them 👍.

18 Nov 2020 01:31:17
Herewego, yea let's keep him he fills the space for young scot, in europe, amazin.

18 Nov 2020 17:20:54
I didn't say that. Just pointed out s guy saying he wouldn't have made the europa squad while claiming to know the rules regarding this. Merely pointing out of course he would have made squad as he counts ad homegrown, not hard.

16 Nov 2020 14:47:55
So Claire Whyte is stepping down as compliance officer .

Not until January to give liewell time to find another celtic supporting replacement I suppose .

Wonder who? .

16 Nov 2020 15:35:04
Bluebilly Buzz the google everything Rangers 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽️🇬🇧👍😂😂.

16 Nov 2020 15:38:29
Probably somebody who is impartial like Jackie Mcnamara or Martin Oneill.

16 Nov 2020 15:45:43
Neil Lennon🤣🤣🤣.

16 Nov 2020 16:13:42
There is a rumour (fake) doing the rounds that Brother Hugh Dallas is in the running, the unwashed are biting though.

16 Nov 2020 16:48:24
Could you imagine wee hugh got the gig? Never going to happen, but the reaction from the east end would be seismic If it did!

16 Nov 2020 18:13:38
Joseph Patrick o'doyle or a name similar will get job. Big peter will make sure of it.

16 Nov 2020 18:25:45
He'd need to dodge the coins going for the messages.

16 Nov 2020 18:28:27
Hugh not high up in uefa or fifa these days? Doubt he would be interested.

16 Nov 2020 18:34:27
Have it on good authority that tom of RTV has been sounded out.

16 Nov 2020 20:10:48
I've sent my cv, ,

16 Nov 2020 20:13:16
Mines the only cv they have, its an isolated cv, I've put down " saint" in front of my school name so i'm expecting a call any minute soon.

16 Nov 2020 21:27:26
She must have heard they are letting supporters return to Celtic park soon so she can use of her season ticket.

17 Nov 2020 08:17:43
I hope they offer Sir Walter the job. That would be interesting! lol.

18 Nov 2020 01:33:09
Doiger, the role will never be filled, mate, vacated, best fickin thing they could do, being honest.

16 Nov 2020 12:30:35
Zungu. Do we see him as a replacement for Davis folks?

Seems to have a wonderful range of passing in his locker.

16 Nov 2020 14:38:18
No i don't think so. This range of passing was v a horrendous hamilton side. I can't see him getting much game time at all. And i don't think we will sign him at end of season is my personal opinion.

16 Nov 2020 15:14:17
My personal opinion is we will sign zungu and like i said last week, i most definitely see zungu as the longterm replacement for steven davis.

16 Nov 2020 15:29:53
I appreciate differing opinions, that's what this forum is all about, I myself thought he looked promising, I would like to see him over 90 minutes though, perhaps at latest the Falkirk game in the League Cup would be one to try him.

16 Nov 2020 15:37:28
Couldn't lace Steve Davis shoelaces.

16 Nov 2020 16:27:53
Fair point sweep, not many could. Rephrase it then, a replacement for the role Davis plays?

16 Nov 2020 17:02:13
Not many can lace wee davo's boots sweep1!

16 Nov 2020 18:08:23
Funny that 2nd half last season 90% fan base said davis was finished. Av hardly seen zungu to be fair but looking at his career doesn't look likely to replace davis. Dean furman keeping him out the SA side. only time will tell. can't see him stayin beyond season.

16 Nov 2020 18:16:33
Be will do well to get a lot of minutes this season. Just can't see whos dropping out. Even if the odd injury we've still got lads who are playing top of there game ahead of him.

16 Nov 2020 18:19:22
Probably best to wait until he has played at least 90 mins in our shirt and proved whether he can thrive in the SPL.

First impressions for me is that he looked good, how good ask me in April.

16 Nov 2020 18:27:32
The boy looked pretty good to me. I think we should maybe give hom a chance before pressing the trap door switch, wouldn't you guys agree?

16 Nov 2020 18:29:31
Bit early to say what he is going to be like after 45mins I’ll reserve judgment on this signing.

16 Nov 2020 18:44:30
Remember Dean Furman, played for us a youngster.

16 Nov 2020 18:57:14
See tbh I thought davo was done 2nd half of last season. But I was wrong he’s been absolutely outstanding this season. What a player and to be doing it at 35 against the top teams in Europa league. Lucky to have him. The mix of experience and potential is really down to a tee at rangers Davo and Kamara epitomise that.

16 Nov 2020 19:42:30
I agree with you Paul 86,that a good few did state on here last season,
that wee davo was finished. My answer back then was quite simple and the reason for his below par form. Davis got injured against the sheep and was carrying the injury, which was proven to be true, i did say then he was nowhere near finished!

16 Nov 2020 20:18:45
Thats great, 90% eh, fantastic piece of arithmetical facts that Paul, just out of curiosity, did you contact every Rangers fan, or just the ones in your house?

DIk, I won't be here long so hurry up and respond.

16 Nov 2020 21:10:09
Coops, you called Davis correctly and has exceeded expectations of many in his second spell at our club. Top player, top professional and loves the Gers.

17 Nov 2020 06:13:59
Sorry tom we will say the overwhelming majority. Hows that? 🎺.

17 Nov 2020 07:01:26
Certainly not overwhelming either Paul, I for one knew Davis was carrying injuries and that he’s one of the fittest guys in the league, maybe a fair few felt otherwise, but never even a majority never mind overwhelming,

17 Nov 2020 09:07:41
It was common knowledge most of us bears KNEW davis was carrying the injury which happened against the sheep 🤔.

17 Nov 2020 11:02:42
Strangely when the whole team were playing badly last season I can’t remember anyone saying that Davis was carrying an injury and not having the positive influence or impact we were used to.

No shortage of Tav, Goldson or Morelos bashing though!

I was one of the “think Davis is past his best” and happy to be proved wrong. I also stated that McGregor had lost his sharpness towards the end of the season but maybe he was carrying an injury too?

If only I had inside information so I could be right all of the time.

19 Nov 2020 19:35:25
mc gregor is always carrying a problem dik. arthritis, but still the best keeper in scotland.

16 Nov 2020 11:18:33
I know it’s possibly been touched on before, but I think we really need to consider how impressive our recruitment policy has been since Ross Wilson came in. If we just look at how we faired compared to Celtic over the summer in a number of similar positions. Goalkeeper - we immediately brought in McLaughlin at the start of the summer for free and he’s not put a foot wrong. They dither for ages and end up spending £5m on a keeper who’s now second choice to a guy who was their third choice last year. Left back - we needed cover and brought in an unheard of youngster who’s turned out to be a machine who again has looked solid every time he’s played and we got him for free. Since they lost Tierney they’ve brought in Bolingoli, Taylor and now Laxelt, who’s looked ok but they only have on loan. And remember where Bassey came from, he was playing for their old manager, you would of thought that would of given them a bit of a heads up on that one. CB - We weren’t even looking for a CB, then Katic gets injured and within 2 weeks we have brought in a (and think about this) CB who came from Brighton, is a Nigerian international, experience of the premier league and Bundesleague and cost nothing. They desperately needed a CB, again dithered, ended up bringing in a CB from, you guessed it, Brighton but they had to pay a £2m loan fee and £45k wages, and he’s crap! CF They spend £5m on a Swiss international, we pay around a third of that on a Swiss international, both who still have a bit to prove so far but still our risk is a lot less on that one. Overall since Wilson has come in I can’t think of a bad move we’ve made in terms of recruiting players.

16 Nov 2020 11:40:37
Fully agree with everything you have said there gets but also got to mention his good work in getting rid of some of the dead wood which I think we will see again in jan and summer freeing up wages for more signings. If we manage to qualify for champs league the gap in finances will be covered and make us as financially stable as we have ever been possibly more so than before. We need to seriously give credit to the board for all this they came in when we were an absolute ruin and destined for financial ruin again and in the matter of only a few years have got us to a place some of us could only dream of. Once again it’s all happiness for the gers, there will be bumps along the way as there has been so far but we are once again becoming the force we all wanted to be.

16 Nov 2020 11:57:36
I agree too, but I’m not going to take time out to “ consider “ how good they’ve been “ they’re great atm, that’s that.

16 Nov 2020 13:13:01
That wasn’t meant to be cheeky mate: just a long post about what has been talked about many times, it’s been very good business so far but the fruits will be when Rangers win the league and then certain players bring in plenty of cash, for further investment.

16 Nov 2020 13:44:01
Ok fair enough. I was also just having a bit of a laugh at how crap celtics recruitment has been in comparison, which is always fun to do.

16 Nov 2020 12:27:01
All very postive this season. Very happy how things are going. But let's not jump the gun let's see how we get on after the new year. As we have been in this position already. Prayin the team get it right this season cause if they don't gerrard should find himself out a job.

16 Nov 2020 13:01:40
Early days but I’m generally in agreement. With exception of deal negotiated for Ross McCrorie, Wilson has done a good job.

16 Nov 2020 15:07:27
The deal for Ross McCrorie isn't a bad deal in my opinion, he was never good enough to get in our team and he has moved on somewhere else where he looks excellent. He's on loan so can't play against us, but can play against all of our rivals. That plus, I am convinced that there is a deal in place for Ferguson which will be linked to the McCrorie deal. I have a sneaky suspicion that Ferguson will sign in January but be loaned back to Dolly FC which again means he can't play against us, but will shine against all the other teams.

Wilson has done a great job with our signings this season, but the proper appraisal can be made when the team starts lifting silverware.

16 Nov 2020 16:04:26
Great Post gers1978 and spot on, over the past few years they have built dare I say it the best rangers team since the mccoist hateley era.

16 Nov 2020 16:25:59
Tend to agree with all that's been said above. Things look great just now but let's wait to see the season out and that will be the ultimate test. Either way though there has been definite progression yet again. I don't know if it was the board or Ross Wilson who brought James Bisgrove in as commercial director but what a job that guy is doing. The amount of extra partnerships that have been announced since he has come on board can only mean financial gains which gives us more buying power. The Castore deal, Tomket Tires, DCP partners and the Swiss Energy drink partner I think are called 81. These companies all paying us money to have link ups with us. Onwards and upwards.

16 Nov 2020 18:12:20
Mossblown. no quite mate. Advocaat era? Weve had few great teams simce 90s. what does that make that lot over the city then? As they have a clean sweep since gerrard came in?

16 Nov 2020 18:15:28
Big coops will be advocating for s statue of him next 🤣🤣.

16 Nov 2020 18:31:35
It’s been positive so far but as a team we haven’t won anything yet long way to go better off waiting to the end of the season and talk about it then.

16 Nov 2020 18:47:09
Agree MOCbear. Bisgrove brought in by MD and Board.

16 Nov 2020 19:45:24
Why not Herewego55 🤔Was killing myself laughing there mate, good one pal 😂😂😂.

16 Nov 2020 19:52:21
My understanding is bisgrove was recommended to the board by Alistair Johnston.

16 Nov 2020 20:28:40
Alistair Johnston did have an input on bisgrove john, I was fortunate enough to have a drink some years back with Alistair as I was invited to him being honoured by his university, great guy and massive Rangers fan,

16 Nov 2020 20:43:08
I get what you're saying paul86 but this years team is much better that previous years team. We've only conceded 3 league goals one of which was clearly off side and another came off edmundsons coupon 🙄. Even Advocatt's team would have been happy with that. Admittedly its early days and I'm not one for getting carried away but all evidence is that the current rangers side is a really good one.

17 Nov 2020 00:20:05
Well taken coops mate, I couldn't resist 👍.

17 Nov 2020 09:09:50
Good banter is what it's all about Herewego55 😂👍We're all bears after all pal, who want the absolute best for the famous!

18 Nov 2020 18:51:48
Ok, sorry Tom if you didn’t like the way I phrased that, let’s just say let’s congratulate our recruitment team and board then. On the other hand, maybe as a support it is important that we take a second to think about / look at our recruitment policy and the way the board are running our club. After all the last time we stopped paying attention to those things and didn’t take any time to ‘consider’ how the club were operating we ended up as a support sleep walking into administration. Up to you though.

16 Nov 2020 10:39:45
Again just hearing very sad news regarding big john hartson's older sister 😞No sooner did we hear of the very sad passing of big kyle lafferty's big sister sonia, we now hear the devestating news today the john hartson has now lost his big sister who's only in her mid 40's😞So cruelly and devestating for both the lafferty family and the hartson family and deep heartfelt condolences to both families and all their friends 🙏God bless every one of you 🙏.

16 Nov 2020 11:20:00
Very sad, as is the passing of Liverpool and England legend Ray Clemence at the age of 72. What a goalkeeper he was. May he rest in peace. Des O'Connor also passed at the weekend. Sad times indeed. Makes you even more want to live in the moment.

16 Nov 2020 12:49:22
Well said SGL! At times like this the football, the rivalry and the banter takes a back seat n doesn’t matter. condolonces to both the lafferty and hartson family.

16 Nov 2020 15:35:34
Yes folks, terrible year this in every way, condolences to John and his family at this sad time, football is football, but this is real life for all of us.

16 Nov 2020 18:32:46
Rip thoughts with John and his family.

16 Nov 2020 21:06:52
Absaloutey cruel world we live in, thoughts are with the hartson family.

16 Nov 2020 10:29:23
My wife just ordered me there a signature gin distilled in arbroath made with the authorisation of the laudrup family for our former legendary hero, the one and only brian laudrup (god what a footballer) 👌👌
She ordered me the limited edition one which is personally signed by brian laudrup himself and comes in a very smart presentation box in honour of his rangers years 👍 Really over the moon with this lovely gift from my wife, which should be with me before christmas 👍.

16 Nov 2020 13:42:32
She’s been cheating! 😂 just kidding, that’s a great gift and you’re right pal, what a wonderful footballer he was!

16 Nov 2020 13:53:35
Thanks BazzaLoyal, lauders was some player 👌.

16 Nov 2020 14:14:31
If the gin is half as good as Brian was as a player then I might buy a few bottles myself.

Best player I have ever seen in a Rangers jersey.

16 Nov 2020 15:21:08
Brian Laudrup was in my top 3,of the best players i've ever seen in a rangers jersey 👌He was some footballer!

16 Nov 2020 15:38:27
Quite a gift SGL, did you get the straws to go with it, lol.

16 Nov 2020 15:48:25
Your wife has a good eye for a player Coops lol.

16 Nov 2020 17:06:02
I hope the straws will follow irvger 😂😂My wife knows how highly i rated and thought of brian laudrup, i can't give her credit for that Jaws 🤔😂.
