A fast strong CB is at the top of everyone's list. Think we missed a trick in Summer with Curtis Nelson moving to Oxford for a very small fee. Anyone think Micah Richards could do a job here? Still only 28, and out of favour at Villa.

I think we've got to look beyond McParland's comfort zone of the lower English leagues and tap into Kranjcar's Rangers status. His dad's coach of Dinamo Zagreb and Croatia produces a ton of great players. Maybe Nico could do a bit of scouting for us as he spends the next 8 months on our payroll recovering. Warburton's worried about the time it takes for foreign players to adapt to Scotland and what better than a fellow Croat to help you settle in.

yes its worrying about foreigners settling into life in Scotland but its just as hard for the boys moving from league one and such as the pressure is immense.

Like that idea kfraser always thought players from that region have great technical ability and tend to be hard working pros, problem with younger british players is the media have them believing they're world beaters before they've proved anything.

Croats are a fine people, very like Scots, minus the weather its quite similar! Players from Croatia and the surrounding region have done pretty well in the past e. g. Prso, Jelavic, Papac etc.

Branimir Kalaica got signed by Benfica on a free from Dinamo Zagreb in July this year, 18 year old big 6'5 CB with bags of potential, that would have been a good opportunity I think.

If he was a player like Ferguson or one of our many quality players of the past he could eat as may fish suppers as he wants. Unfortunately he does not come into that class but then he is not alone in that these days!

Just read up on the Rangers youth game vs Ross County, 3-2 win with Wilson, Senderos, Crooks, Waghorn and McKay all playing and McKay getting a goal, however by the sounds of things Senderos had a nightmare, is January the time to punt him and get another CB in?

Why do people want Redbull to buy us? I personally don't like the idea of being called The Redbull Rangers, nor do I like the thought of Ibrox being called the Redbull arena. I wouldn't mind the money, but having a sugar daddy again doesn't exactly excite me.

I don't think Hill and kiernan have been playing badly as the media make out. Wilson is obviously a very good defender when fit so if senderos is terrible (like I said at the time but many people on here were quick to point out "he's played for arsenal" lol) we need cover.

Is it not more worrying that we had 5 possible first team starters in there, 2or 3 of them central defenders and we still lost 2 goals to an under 20 team?
Or is it just me?

cee I don't know where u are cming from Kiernan looks awfull pretty much anytime he is put under pressure and Wilson is not obviously a very good defender at best he has potential but based on this season I wouldn't say that he is a very good defender.
I hate being negative but IMHO I think we need two new cb's both with a bit of pace and can win balls in the air. none of which Kiernan possesses .
if we have confidence in our defence the forward players can get on with their job without worrying the defence.

If it were a serious possibility, which I don't think it is, and they pumped in enough cash to halt 10 in a row, then they can call us Red bull Rangers, rename the stadium the "Redbull stoped them getting 10 arena", and then they can bend me over and peg me with a can of Redbull!

if you don't think kiernan is quick for a centre back you obviously haven't watched him because it's his only redeeming quality. what I'm saying is we haven't conceded a goal from open play since the Aberdeen and celtic games, our defending as a whole team is poor but the centre backs aren't as bad as the media make out. would you rather have ross county's centre backs? or motherwell? or Falkirk?

I can't wait for Saturday and I think we will score 3 or 4 - (it's about time we did) so what's everyones thoughts and choices for the starting 11 on Saturday.? Put Gilk's in goal for a change? Back to Wilson and Keirnan as centre backs? holt Halliday and Windass in the midfield and a front three of Ohalloran Garner and Miller?

Hill should keep his place if wilson is sharp after playing u20 match i'd have him back in, also like to see forrester and dodoo more involved!

if fit i'd take off Kiernan and play Wilson beside hill as hill is better than Kiernan.
if fit i'd give rossiter a shout maybe in the second half. unless he does what everyone wants and changes it to 4 in the middle of the park so we can control games.
in that case i'd play halliday rossiter forrester and windass or McKay in the midfield.

One big disagreement from me on your post afcw191. No way does clint hill deserve to lose his centre half place to anyone! What have you been watching mate? Clint hill has been BY FAR our best centre half and most consistent! So i honestly don't know where you're coming from with that one! The puzzle is more who should partner clint hill in our centre half partnership!

Coops normally I agree with you - but as you often say please read my post correctly - I have asked other people what their thoughts are for Saturday - and named various players with a question mark after them - it was posted to get views back for Saturdays team - I can't wait to get back to Ibrox in Saturday ( or RB Ibrox as it will be known next season) and iI'm hoping that the players will feel likewise and bang a few goals in - My team for the weekend would be Gilks, Tav, Wilson, Hill, Wallace, Holt, Halliday, Windass, Ohalloran, Garner and Miller - I would ask though if Garner and Miller are much of a likeness and can play together? I would also select Forester over Mckay just now - On a good day I'd replace Miller with Crooks to bolster up the middle of the park and push Windass forward in case we ever dreamt of going 4-4-2 - The majority of us are all choosing the same nucleus of players give or take a few tweaks - I agree Hill has been a positive in recent weeks. -.
