Any news on Flanagans SFA hearing guys.

16 May 2019 21:32:00
Hearing put back until tomorrow.

16 May 2019 20:00:11
I am just a dedicated lifelong Rangers supporter with little knowledge of the signings contract system.

Can some of you enlighten me why a player signs an extension of his contract then a couple of weeks later is all over the media and with some on here saying he is looking for a move to the EPL asap. Morelos is the main one i'm referring to.

His latest insult to us is his statement that he wants a move to a bigger club with a better challenge.

16 May 2019 20:17:19
Bluebilly, greed for money my friend. I've heard this before from some Rangers players in the past only to regret moving from Rangers. Morelos may do well or he may be a flop but at the end of the day its his choice. On the plus, he's going to make Rangers a lot of money.

16 May 2019 20:38:36
He was getting interviewed by a Columbian media outlet - what do you want him to say? The boy is bigging himself up for a call up to the Copa America and is ambitious and saying he wants to play in a league of a higher standard. Who wouldn't?

Just as long as he knows that the only way that will happen is if he performs consistently well for us!

16 May 2019 20:40:47
Rangers done the right thing by offering him a new contract even if they knew he is planning on leaving. This should’ve been done with more players in the past. If a player has more years left on their contract, then generally the club can ask a higher price for the player. Much better than letting a player get closer to the end of their contract and just run it out.

16 May 2019 20:46:24
He would have been promised if he signed the deal he would get a move in the summer and the new deal would increase his value for selling on purposes.

16 May 2019 20:57:16
Morelos has unfortunately become a bit of a liability with his poor disciplinary record. His case hasn't been helped by the great success of Defoe and the change of system. It is a great pity as his goal scoring record is fantastic. Not only that, but he leads the line brilliantly. Personally, I haven't been as confident of winning an OF match for years than I was for the last one. I think one of the main reasons was because I was confident of keeping 11 players on the park. Everytime Morelos plays, especially against the likes of McKenna or Peanut Heid, I am on edge waiting for the inevitable reaction. If he wamts to move on in the summer I'd say fine, thanks very much for the money and good luck.

16 May 2019 23:19:38
Its just a way for the club to get more money. simple.

17 May 2019 07:53:59
Thanks guys, can see the reasons now, cheers.

17 May 2019 08:16:28
Give the boy a break .

There is nothing wrong with ambition in a young person and whether we like it or not, playing in Scotland even for us is not what it used to be. It does not mean that he won’t give everything for us whilst he is here.

Be thankful that he cane to us and scored so many goals.

I think he will stay this summer, score a tonne of goals, mature a bit and then get his move in January or next summer making us a tidy profit of +£15m in the process.

If anyone on here was a perfect peter aged 18 - 22 you must have led a pretty dull and boring life - everyone makes mistakes no matter how much they earn.

17 May 2019 08:23:56
Sell him and get as much money as we can. The man's a liability who cost us points this season. Nobody is indispensable.

17 May 2019 12:43:01
Is Gerrard insulting us by wanting to one day manage Liverpool, our history is full of players who played and moved on for more money or so called ambition, it happens. it doesn't mean they won't do all they can for the jersey whilst wearing it.

unfortunately there is NO money in scotland now so would you stay if you can x 10 your salary if good enough. at one stage in the 90s we had just about the highest wage bill in the whole UK. those times have changed.

16 May 2019 15:55:41
Liverpool are not pricing Kent out of our reach, they are merely saying what THEY want for him. If the 12 mil figure is true.

If Kent went elsewhere then it would be he who chose the big bucks which he is entitled to.

He can always say to Liverpool he is not going to xy or z. They cannot make him. They would then have to let him come to us on another loan or dump him in their reserves. Players have ALL the power nowadays so the ball is in his court.

Myself, i wouldn't pay more than about £5 mil as he is still got a lot to prove. Good to watch but not enough goals etc.

16 May 2019 17:08:59
Completely agree slim. The one thing that makes me think we aren’t going to sign him permanently isn’t the price tag, it’s the fact we have Murphy, Jones, Hastie and Middleton all in that same position. Unless the plan is to use some of them on the other side if we only have Candeias.

16 May 2019 17:45:00
5 million is reasonable.

16 May 2019 19:11:51
Blue 89

Hastie plays on the right as he likes to come in also I wouldn’t have Middleton even mentioned in that he may get a few games here or there but that’s it.

16 May 2019 20:05:44
Mind Middleton is only 18, if you look at the stats for this season, they are better than kents. I like Kent, hope we keep him but he's not irreplaceable.

16 May 2019 20:43:13
Agree with you blueberry, Middleton has delivered every time he’s played, even in Europe. Scored just as many goals as Kent and generally gets in more crosses than Kent. He is a little one dimensional but like you said he’s only 18. Gannet, I’d rather play Middleton any day of the week before Jones.

16 May 2019 12:07:10
Thinking of how we finished the season call it 4 3 3 or 4 3 2 1 and where we need to strengthen. I'm not including returning players. McGregor needs a back up hopefully a young keeper with potential. Flanagan playing well, need better or if nobody we have cover. Katic very good needs to play to get better. Goldson again very good I'd drop him before Katic. Obviously we need as good or preferably better here. Tav stand out we should keep but get a young understudy.
Midfield; at the start of the season imo our best in midfield was Jack now I rate Davis and Kamara better so I'd get better than jack considerably better and keep the rest. incidentally their are a few really good mids in our academy.
Forwards; Kent really scares defenders and will only get better, can we afford him otherwise we have Middleton, needs games, Hastie, needs games, or Jones I don't rate him hope he proves me wrong. Arfield been superb recently pushing him forward really suits his game. Defoe/ Morelos again IMO SG has lost confidence Morelos, Defoe We need a top hopefully young striker, this is where the majority of our budget will probably go.
These are only my thoughts, but as I'm never wrong, Feel free to disagree.
Can't make our last game good luck at Killie guys and be safe.

16 May 2019 14:02:43
Good post Bluepete36. Don't forget we have Rossiter, Docherty and Murphy to come back, maybe Dorrans too so plenty of competition there. If my mate Hardie comes back as well then goalscoring problem sorted!

16 May 2019 15:46:54
Jones is better than candieas grezda middleton. he's same style of player as kent. very similar actually finally ball slightly lacking sometimes.

16 May 2019 18:30:03
Jones IMO has still to prove he's better than daniel candeias.

16 May 2019 19:13:18
Middleton needs to go in loan for a season.

16 May 2019 20:07:17
Back up goalie with potential? Mccrorie.

16 May 2019 22:56:21
Sorry Folks but Jack is a good player. Think to many people look at a midfield and expect 4 attacking midfielders. Last old firm game, Jack matched McGregor's runs keeping him quiet. Kamara in the first half got bullied by brown he brushed aside at one point with ease, but got better. If your looking for better in midfield it's not a defensive but an attacking midfielder. Me go with the 4 we have.

16 May 2019 23:30:34
Blue Pete when did arfield become a forward. He is an attacking midfielder coming from deep central mid. Thus 4 in midfield. 😁.

16 May 2019 11:40:18
How about a 32red pre season tournament.
Rangers, Leeds, Villa and Derby.

16 May 2019 12:31:51
Great post and idea👍.

16 May 2019 12:44:53
32red would get great pr from it.

16 May 2019 15:24:41
Either villa or derby won't be bothered taking on runners up and losers. more interested in playing against champions and teams with potential.

16 May 2019 15:34:35
Or maybe they should just watch our last game anotherpainintherear.

16 May 2019 15:56:58
Both villa and derby aren’t champions so that doesn’t make any sense! I was just thinking that last night watching Leeds match jboy Leeds villa stoke and rangers that would be a decent mini pre season tournament.

16 May 2019 17:35:36
I assume you need the tournament as you know rangers won't get very far in their Europa league qualification campaign. not seeded passed the second round.

16 May 2019 18:30:49
Got far enough last season!

16 May 2019 11:35:43
Rossiter has played regularly whilst on loan and feedback on his performance has been excellent. His injuries seem to be behind him. Together with Docherty will be like 2 new quality signings for preseason.

16 May 2019 12:22:10
Not sure if this is true or what but last pre season the team had in Spain apparently the stand out player was Rossiter. Hopefully the boy can stay away from injuries this season and can be a proper player for us.

16 May 2019 15:48:11
Theres not room for both of them. 1 of them will leave. I personally favour a fit rossiter.

16 May 2019 16:46:26
rossiters injury issues were down to being injured while he was still growing into a man

hopefully that's now past him and he can push on. a gem of a player if he can.

16 May 2019 20:59:43
Very good player. I'd love to see him kick on and become the great player a lot of people think he will be.

16 May 2019 21:26:01
Technically both are better than McCrorie, and Davis is cominjg to the end of his career - of course we can keep both. It's a long season.

16 May 2019 11:21:17
Morelos left out of Columbia national squad. This is massive for him and until he sorts himself out, competed and gets himself back into the team and scoring goals he is going nowhere.

16 May 2019 11:29:36
Agreed Bankie, should learn him a lesson.

16 May 2019 11:18:37
As much as I dislike Brown, fair play to him.
He along with Kent has signed a picture of Kent shoving him.
To be auctioned for a Rangers supporter who is terminally ill with cancer.

16 May 2019 06:22:26
Just read an article with big Gordan Petric there, thought I'd Google him see how he's doing nowadays. The man is a collosus! I would not mess with big Gordan! Hands like shovels, man! :D.
