This Rangers 'Team' I use the word Team loosely will never win the championship next season, not with this Manager, backroom staff and certain lazy players. Just Not Good Enough.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Trouble is we have some good players but they are being dragged down to walking pace by the likes of Black, too much negative play. I blame the coaching staff.

Really hope McCoist isn't manager for much longer the way we play is crap, get a good young good manager like Derek Mcinnes. Need so much change at this beautiful club, the board, the backroom staff and the majorty of the players like Black, Cribari (contract up in the summer thank goodness) and McCulloch's wage is too much considering we could get a younger and better player for a fifth of his wage.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We can only hope.

I see Kane Hemmings and Rory Loy are both up for player of the year in the championship.

Anyone think they are any worse than Shiels and Daly (who are prob on more than £12000 a week betwern them)?

And could they have done a job for us in league 2, league 1, and the championship?

Another example of our failed set up. overpaid, average players always get the nod over youth.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That sums Ally up! Why have young players with potential on low wages when you can have over the hill journeyman players on big money. There is no thought or structure in place for the team to progress and there is no plan in place to compete with the likes of Dundee Utd or Aberdeen in the premiership. If you look at the majority of the team last night. How many of them will cut it in the top league in 2 years time? That's if we even get there?

Agree0 Disagree0

Kane Hemmings and Loy are mince! Surely anyone can see that!
Heavens above are you all serious in suggesting these two would enhance the present rangers team!
I do despair at the innate ramblings on here sometimes

Agree0 Disagree0

Your missing the point gandalf. Do you think this team would have won div 2 then 1:

Bell
Wallace
Mosnhi
Gasparotto
Peralta
Templeton
Hutton
Macleod
Mackay
Loy
Hemmings

Answer-of course it would. The wage bill would be cut in half (we didn't need foster, smith, cribari, faure, law, black, daly or Shiels)so could have cut the wage bill in half, building a team for the championship then splashing out on one or two names once we got there.

Instead we're stuck with no money, underperforming overpaid players that don't look interested and a youth team with no 1st team experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gandal007 hemmings and loy must be steak mince compared to the sawdust and mince mixture that we have down through the years the players that have been freed would make up a better team than what we have just now we have players who would be fit to play in championship or premier divisions if they had better coaching and management traing appears to be a case of turning up and doing 2 or 3 circuits some keepie uppie lunch then home or the bookies and a day off on wednesday all in all life at ibrox appears to be jolly good a dripping roast for everyone until this changes performances will be no better

Agree0 Disagree0

@2.

Kane Hemmings and Rory Loy are clearly doing a good job in the championship. Point out a player from our overpaid journeymen who has done better than both them? None! Hemmings would have done the job in div 1&2 but it's the same old by McCoist look at Gallacher at the start of the season when Bell couldn't play. Does a great job and ends up loaned out because we sign a third keeper which we clearly didn't need.

Nominations for player of the year in League 1 - Law, Daly and Wallace from Rangers and Moffat from Ayr BUT more interestingly nominations in the Championship, Rory Loy of Falkirk, Kane Hemmings of Cowdenbeath and Peter McDonald of Dundee among them - all 3 ex Rangers players not deemed good enough for us by various managers and discarded - but obviously good enough for the league we are in next season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Peter macdonald lol he was at rangers over 12 year ago as a youth player

Agree0 Disagree0

Was surprised to see Law nominated. Think the people deciding that must have stopped watching Law after he officially signed for the club. He has been the biggest disappointment of the season. Closely followed by Clark

Agree0 Disagree0

Stewie u cannot blame clark he has not had enough game time and none in his preffered position he scored goals for fun with q o s every player who has been signed has went back due to a lack of coaching tyey only train a few hrs everyday off on a wednesday where real teams are coached o play different systems in one game if the way they are playing isn't working mind other teams don't have a j daly t lump the ball to as a only system

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 where on my post do I blame Clark for anything? I stated he has been disappointing this season. Don't think that's to far off the mark. I am sure he would admit himself he has had a disappointing season

in the paper this morning, ally is quoated as saying going the whole season unbeaton would be "massive", sorry ally, what would be " massive" would be giving the rest of the season to the young players, to gain some 1st team experence so they feel ready for a step up next year! boyblue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with the OP. What other manager wouldn't be able to see that after collecting enough points to win the league, promotion in this case, which ever league it might be, that it is now the time to blood the youth and give them a game?

Even though A McC. hasn't chose to do this before (which I think is very selfish) at least man up and do it now.

All this "going a season unbeaten" means nothing. After winning promotion and not giving the youngsters playing time is very poor, very poor indeed.

Coisty is on cloud me me me.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing u would describe as massive would be his departure

Agree0 Disagree0

He was on STV on Monday I will give some Youth players a chance but we have to bear in mind we have a game to win, I was there last night, and never seen any at the start, Aird came on for an injury, then Hutton came on after 80 mins and Crawford at 85mins, no new youth same old ME ME Ally we may as well shut down Murray Park and sell it for housing to get some money in, which by the way I wouldn't give to him he would waste it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet again McCoist proves beyond doubt that it's all about him, he sees going a season unbeaten with a £8m wage bill against part timers as some kind of achievement, he's brought Rangers to its knees for personal glory and of course financial reward.

Agree0 Disagree0

What makes his judgements worse is the fact next season will be the hardest so far and there will be no chance to bring boys on we will be left with the same old same old faces for next season who I am afraid just won't cut it and with very little to spend on new faces promotion will be a tad difficult to say the least

Agree0 Disagree0

No disrespect to the opposition but us going unbeaten is no great achievement with tht squad if the young guys wer playing most weeks then yes

Agree0 Disagree0

This goes to the very crux of the matter. We're 32 points clear with a game in hand and four to play

McCoist says the youth have to earn the jersey and fair point and I then read on the Rangers page that our under 20s are going great guns and many are ready to step up. So give them the chance to prove themselves at time when there's nothing to lose. " Unbeaten " isn't massive.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4&5 great posts and as u say 5 the youngsters should have been given the chance to prove themselves in the bottom 2 leagues and may have been ready for the championship. It will be the usual suspects next season and it's going to be one almighty struggle. The team is going nowhere and under Ally am not confident about getting promoted. If we did however we will be fighting for a top 6 spot. Wonder how the Ally fans will react then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally needs to make his mind up. Quoted on Monday stating he's going to give the young boys a chance and now it's get through the season unbeaten. I'll be very surprised if the likes of Telfer, Murdoch ect get a run out. Mccoist is only interested in himself. Tell us fans what we wanna hear but never lives up to the promise.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great response and I think myu question is, if Ally gives them a chance will weturn up and support it? And if they get thumpted is that ok as well?

Agree0 Disagree0

@10 of course we would turn up and support them regardless of the result I would rather go and watch a team of youngsters giving a 110% than watch the current overpaid underachievers

Agree0 Disagree0

@10, and what great pleasure are we getting going now.

Agree0 Disagree0

@10. I have supported rangers through thick and thin been to about 80% off home and away games since we've been in the bottom-tear in hope that we're ready to change. We had a great opertunity to use Murray park but there seems to be an excuse every time. We signed players like Moshni when we have Gasparotto. We're going to loose these players as they'll get sick of the empty promises.

Agree0 Disagree0

It has been quite obvious for some time that McCoist cares about one thing and one thing only, the record books stating that he managed Rangers to a league title, undefeated in the process. What the records will NOT state is that our wage bill is probably higher than the rest of the league put together and that most of the guys we played against probably put a shift in before playing! I will never forget the comment made during the replay against Albion Rovers. "Some of these guys got a half day off today". Don't get me started on his tactical ineptness. How anyone can show such an inability to do the job he is charged with and keep his job beggars belief. Has he got no shame?

Agree0 Disagree0

@10 if our youth team players are that bad that we didn't end up getting thumped then it doesn't say much for the development of youth at the club and maybe it would take something like that to shake up the youth academy. No one is suggesting we play a team full of young players but a good manager would find a balance between young players and experienced ones. Going to the bottom league was an opportunity to do this but Ally decided to discard youth and bring in journeyman players. Now the club has no money and the wage bill needs to be cut. We have no young players ready to step up and make their mark in the championship. Their will be some good teams in the championship next season with Hearts and maybe even Hibs in it. Do you fancy our chances next season?

Agree0 Disagree0

N2 did you forget about his massive wages lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with all posts above. Being a wee bit pedantic but our wage bill is more than double all other 29 teams in the bottom 3 divisions Blue Velvet. This was verified by Paul Hartley when he confirmed the average football budget for Championship teams was £100K / year.
Two clubs- Forfar and Raith Rovers beat us in the League Cup and the Ramsden's Cup and had it not been for a highly contentious late equaliser against Albion Rovers from the bottom division it would have been even worse.
That kinda of trumps no defeats in the second worst league in Scotland IMO
