Encouraging press conference from Stevie G today and he is saying all the right things!
A few quality signings and a few players out will get us going next season and he is the right man to take us forward! On the left back situation, I have to say Barasic is not up to the job and on Tuesday on the second goal for the Sheep said it all! He's not interested and must be moved with hopefully no loss in cash🇬🇧🇬🇧.

15 Mar 2019 18:30:44
totally agree with what you say yately barasic is the biggest impostor i have seen in a blue jersey in a long time he just doesn't look interested and imo offers nothing would start halliday in front of him all day long p. s i don't like picking out 1 individual for critisism but i'm judging him in a large percentage of his games for us.

15 Mar 2019 18:41:52
I also totally agree with your post yately1!I totally echo everything you say in your post pal. Very well put together. Steven Gerrard WILL take us where we all want and we all think we should be. Like i said on here before, after gerrard has had another 2 transfer windows, let's see where we are! I'm positive he'll get it right. I'm right behind our manager and of course the team he's building. I'll be their as usual tomorrow supporting our manager and the team, with heart, soul and voice. let's go stevie G!

15 Mar 2019 21:11:27
Your hilarious coop. I remember when you were saying similar things about Warburton. Thing is, Warburtons team played a similar style to slippy and he had a better win percentage than slippy has with a fraction of the transfer budget. So where is all your new found confidence coming from? 😂😂.

15 Mar 2019 22:05:13
Your hilarious coop, I remember you saying all the same things about Warburton, and how did that turn out. Warburton had a better win percentage than slippy with a much smaller budget, so where has all your new found confidence came from? Slippy is as much of a failure so far as the hat or Pedro, take the blue tinted specs off 😂.

15 Mar 2019 22:17:47
Coop, i hope you're right but i'm concerned Gerrard maybe offski before his contract runs out. Now that maybe because he's not getting the financial backing or because of this continual bigotry nonsense or because he's been offered a job down south. You never know in football!

16 Mar 2019 00:47:09
Thought comments by SG in PC most honest heard in while. He laments some previous performances and admits to the need to get better. His comments assure fans he is here for long haul to inject some of his own ethos into team. But long haul, I could have cried with joy.

16 Mar 2019 01:35:30
Another 15 players needed at least.

16 Mar 2019 01:40:20
Job down south? Lol. Hopeless. Take it yous are back next year?

16 Mar 2019 08:27:44
I read through this yesterday for an hour and SC11 is defending Barisic and “rating him highly” The DOUBLE STANDARDS ooze right out you. let's give Barisic a full pre season before casting him off. Some of you are wild!

16 Mar 2019 11:34:00
The Stuck, Coops did say it about Warburton and Pedro and I’m sure will say it about the next manager whoever that is. He is a loyal supporter and whatever we might think of some of his posts, there is no denying and nothing wrong with that.

16 Mar 2019 12:02:50
L17 I tend to agree, that we don't see the best in a player till they have been there long enough to do a full pre season, only my opinion.

15 Mar 2019 17:52:47
Been watching/ supporting rangers all my life since the 70s, where do the rest of you guys rank Morelos amongst the strikers we have had in the past, think he's the best option at club the now but no where near the best I've seen in my time. thoughts? Just seems we are a bit hysterical with Morelos.

15 Mar 2019 18:20:39
Good question mate.

Morelos is quality, absolutely no doubt about it however in my opinion he needs someone up top with him.
Potentially he has it all, he can finish, he can bully, he chases everything down but 9 times out of 10 he either hasn’t got the service or the support from our midfield.

15 Mar 2019 18:23:19
McCoist hatley to name a few Boyd
Rod Wallace

In order
McCoist
Hatley
Boyd.

15 Mar 2019 18:45:54
Marco negri is the greatest finisher i've seen in my 40 odd years, going to watch glasgow rangers! God only knows how many he would have scored,
if circumstances didn't take over. He was so natural at scoring goals. An incredible knack he had and i've seen some great rangers strikers, in my time!

15 Mar 2019 19:19:59
I rate morelos very highly. Bare in mind he's still a young lad with bags of potential. The issue with all the hype from my point of view is, for a long time now scottish clubs have been ripped off with the transfer fees we recieve for our best players. We want what's fair and if dembele is a 20m striker then why not alfredo? His goal scoring record is as good if not better than dembele but, that's just my opinion.
My favourite striker is dado prso.
He was class!

15 Mar 2019 19:27:30
Morelos has potential to go further
At this stage not a
Mcoist
Hateley
Prso
Novo
Johnston
Jelavic
Boyd
Miller.

15 Mar 2019 19:28:28
Forgot mols.

15 Mar 2019 20:03:17
He is still very young. But over the years we've have had some unreal strikers. Out with mccoist personal favourites of myself were mols jelavic and big dado. As said previous morelos potentially has it all. Uses his body to turn defenders unbelievably well.

15 Mar 2019 20:06:30
I would say that Morelos, at 22, bullies defenders more than most Gers strikers I have seen, maybe Hateley. He is also a player you can play up front on his own which in previous eras saw always two strikers.

15 Mar 2019 20:10:16
Soopcoop11 - think Negri holds the record for fastest or most in a season - memory not as good as it used to be. and Negri reminded me of a schoolmate, Sandy, who couldnae play football but scored for fun, with the back of his head, his arse, his shooder, his knee. Loved watching Negri you always new you were gonnae see goals. but my most fav was Mols - such a shame.

15 Mar 2019 20:19:31
What about Ally Scott or Martin Henderson, pure class or big Kyle who McCoist signed, does it get any better?

15 Mar 2019 21:56:57
Colin stein.

15 Mar 2019 22:01:07
True blue, Billy urquart.

15 Mar 2019 22:06:59
Sebo👍.

15 Mar 2019 23:27:21
Kevin 40 a day Drinkel☠️.

16 Mar 2019 00:58:26
B gate, sounds like we are of an age if you watched gers in 70s. Skill wise think Morelos difficult to beat. Problem is grew up watching DJ, Parlane, latterly Mols. Big players with heart. Something don't think Morelos has.

16 Mar 2019 07:00:53
Takes me back millerbrandwilson.
Loved and grew up watching derek parlane mate. Remember the song to the tune of the christmas song NOEL?
"PARLANE, PARLANE, PARLANE, PARLANE,
BORN IS THE KING OF IBROX PARK"!
Superb memories mate!

16 Mar 2019 11:02:24
Derek Johnstone was a better striker than Hateley and should have been in the all time best team instead of Hateley.

16 Mar 2019 11:43:20
Jboy21

Billy Urquart made Ally Scott and Martin Henderson look like proper players. Recall game at Ibrox when he had to flick and create a bouncing ball to enable him to cross it, kind of thing used to see in poor school football. Still have the scars from seeing Urquart in a blue shirt.

16 Mar 2019 12:28:16
Yep, after he left rangers I played against him a few times, alongside Jim brogan I never. Played against a harder more physical player.

15 Mar 2019 11:55:15
Hopefully the Union Bears continue with there silent protest tomorrow we don't need any sectarian singing towards Clarke.

15 Mar 2019 14:26:59
Not a chance of that happening the more you tell these people to stop more likely it is to happen as sad as that is.

15 Mar 2019 14:42:19
If they do start their crap they need to be drowned out with booos.

15 Mar 2019 14:52:59
A think it’s Celtic fans skipping in and singing it to try and get us into trouble what do you all think?

15 Mar 2019 15:35:38
i think you must be kidding Tinman. If not you are crackers.

15 Mar 2019 16:04:52
I think tinman trying to be funny, poor attempt.

15 Mar 2019 18:21:59
Lol 🎣.

15 Mar 2019 10:34:15
Thoughts on dropping Morelos to the bench for Killie game? Get Defoe on? The games and chances Defoe has had he's usually took them.

15 Mar 2019 11:48:05
have both on the park.

15 Mar 2019 11:56:23
I'd go two up top, give defenders something else to think about. Who would be the two cm's? Assuming its 442, I'd go kamara and arfield. Kamara I think is a better ball player than jack that's why I'd go for him. 👍.

15 Mar 2019 12:51:30
I’d like to see Lafferty and Morelos start with Defoe on he bench. Heard that Jack and Arfield may not be fit for tomorrow, on which case McCrorie should come in.

15 Mar 2019 12:51:59
With Arfield and Jack doubts tomorrow maybe tomorrow is the best game to play 442?

15 Mar 2019 13:11:54
I think 442 with a diamond, we get enough width from the full backs so need more bodies through the middle.

15 Mar 2019 13:13:47
I think Morelos needs benched. Anyone else would be benched if carrying on like him, his form hasn't been amazing for a few games now so I'd drop him.

Regarding him hitting the deck and his other weaknesses, surely someone's been having words with him no? If so and his daft side keeps coming out on the pitch he needs dropped no?

I like him btw, if he winds his neck in and improves on some little details he really is going to be a top top striker.

15 Mar 2019 13:24:40
We can't accomodate kent in a diamond boli. I would go with lafferty bankie, give morelos someone to feed off and someone to aim crosses at👍.

15 Mar 2019 13:56:00
Morelos and lafferty up top. Kent in the hole and start mccrorie.

15 Mar 2019 14:24:12
We lost at rugby park when we played a diamond and kent in the hole, we then tried it again the following week and at half it was changed because it was ineffective. 👍.

15 Mar 2019 14:42:22
True blue
What is your settled team from the players we have now?
I believe we all think a settled team is the way to go, with a good bench?
The reason I ask is most of you on this site would see Rangers live a lot more than I would, so it stands to reason you’d have a better idea.

15 Mar 2019 16:09:20
Ulsterman my best eleven
Mcgregor Tav goldston Katic barisic
Arfield mccrorie kamara
Murphy Morelos Kent

I know Murphy injured, so it would be lafferty for now.
Mccrorie there to protect back four and put in tackles, hard but fair.

15 Mar 2019 17:58:38
Jack is a far better player than McCrorie.

15 Mar 2019 18:18:43
Ulsterman - to be brutally honest we do not have a settled team, if only.

But I would go with McGregor, Haliday, Tavernier, Goldson, Katic, Arfield, Jack, Kamara, Kent, Morelos and Defoe

I would be looking for Polster to be getting on the bench, along with Greg Docherty (when fit) and McCrorie, along with Middleton and a few of the 17/ 18 year olds who did so well in the Al Kass cup.

A few might say that Haliday is not a left back but he is committed and puts in a decent shift.

15 Mar 2019 18:49:00
I really like young ross mccrorie but i'm with you scottbroonatemawainslego, ryan jack is a better defensive midfielder than mccrorie! Jack easily our best defensive midfielder at ibrox! He would never be out my team.

15 Mar 2019 20:14:01
Likewise I like McCrorie, but he is still learning and his time will come. Jack is always available for a pass and he makes them. Now chipping in with a few goals and assists. Should be captain.

15 Mar 2019 22:02:29
Re mccrorie, I want someone who pits in tackles.

15 Mar 2019 23:29:41
More to football than just tackling. Also - are you saying that Jack cannot tackle? Mccrorie can be very loose with his passes and he is not exactly the creative type. He is learning the game and will be a mainstay in the future.

16 Mar 2019 08:01:48
Out the current 11 only McGregor and Morelos are good enough. Half pace Jack and Kamara are mince. Can't disagree with what Kris Boyd said in the papers yesterday. We need to wake up. Gerrard talks to the media too much get coaching and scouting. Let's talk and talk If we get back to winning ways.

16 Mar 2019 12:06:07
Scott brown, it's all about opinions, we were skied who we wanted to play.
If we had guys that put in challenges like mccrorie and Halliday 29/ 12 we would not be bullied as much.

16 Mar 2019 12:12:52
Jack also played on 29/ 12 - also scored, so why would you drop him?

16 Mar 2019 12:29:39
Opinions, Scott they are allowed.

16 Mar 2019 12:56:40
yeah - so are questions

Gerrard has the ultimate opinion and he agrees with me, so curious as to why you think McCrorie is better than Jack?

15 Mar 2019 06:30:22
Six or seven yrs we have been trying to build a team.
so who's accountable?

managers?
director of footie?
chairman?
plays?
all of the above?

is Gerard to clever at times? does he have the support £££££ wise?

15 Mar 2019 09:13:48
The SFPL and the SFA and all their member teams!

15 Mar 2019 10:58:52
Yeah everyone else to blame!

15 Mar 2019 11:48:51
David Murray.

15 Mar 2019 11:50:06
Do you honestly think that if a similar financial meltdown had happened to Man Utd or Arsenal for example, that they would have been dumped down to League 2 or worse with all that such action would have entailed? That's what Scottish football did to us, so yes they are to blame. Of course we had the corrupt morons like Green and Whyte (how ironic) but at the end of the day none of this was the fault of the incredible Rangers fans. We'll get back to the top again. This is only our third season back in the Scottish Premiership so it still a work in progress. SG will get us there!

15 Mar 2019 12:24:59
You're right doiger it wasn't the fans fault and we have suffered the most but rules are rules and we are not above them. If I remember right livingston got demoted so it would have been unfair to make an exception for us. Onwards and upwards starting tomorrow👍.

15 Mar 2019 12:46:31
So you change rules for "big" teams?

15 Mar 2019 13:17:37
The problem is we have never been 'building' a team. We went down the wrong route by over paying has- beens and worse. It was a time to look to the future and throw promising youngsters in with backbone of experienced players, chance was missed. We are pretty much back at square one and Gerrard really needs to get recruitment right this summer. Stop paying over the odds for players who are over 30 and bring in young, improving players. Hopefully if Morelos goes any money will be used wisely.

15 Mar 2019 13:39:00
Yip cuillin the summer window is key👍.

15 Mar 2019 14:59:06
Guys I genuinely believe that us as fans have to take some of the blame too. we expect much more than the club can afford at this moment in time . we can’t attract the same level of player we did pre 2012 as these players are now unaffordable to Scottish football nowadays. i'm hurting the same as ever other bear but tryin to be realistic on what we can achieve with the budget we have. Still think Stevie g is the man to take us forward . A few decent (first team starters) signings in the summer n we won’t be far off.

15 Mar 2019 16:47:12
Well written chilling, problem we had was none of our youth players were good enough.
We should have went out and bought the best young lads, not Kyle, sandaza, black, fauve, cribari to name a few
Then guys like mcculloch, Miller templeton.

15 Mar 2019 21:26:32
100% agree, when we went down we should have taken the opportunity to bring in fresh new young talent who could have completed their apprenticeships in the lower leagues and learn with us all coming up through them. ok i understand the pressure was on to get back to the SPFL asap but the money we spent while doing so could have been wiser spent and you never know we could have been selling a few now for a healthy profit. we bought players, overpaid and with no or little resell value.

16 Mar 2019 09:22:20
Jboy sorry I can't let you bash miller he was a stand out for us coming up although a youngster should have be added next to him to learn.

16 Mar 2019 12:09:04
Finty not bashing Miller, sorry if not explained well. I meant best young players mentored by Miller, mcculloch etc
Miller always set a great example.

15 Mar 2019 06:15:56
I'll ask this question again, to all on here, who want steven gerrard to be replaced as rangers manager, for whatever their reasons.
Who do you want then, to replace gerrard as rangers manager? OMG, i've just had a helluva thought that derek mcinnes's name is going to crop up here a lot!

15 Mar 2019 07:55:05
There was a massive overhaul last summer, and while I had hoped to win titles this year deep down knew it was too soon. I’d definitely give Gerrard another season with 2 transfer windows. Some folk just want to rip it up and start again every season which in my opinion cannot keep being funded. Add a few of quality in the summer to go with the nucleus that’s there. I think although stevie is a rookie manager he will grow into the post. People are arguing there’s been no progress since last year? At least I’ve had some great times this year especially in Europe. The season before I got off a plane in Tenerife to find out progress neidercorn had put us out of Europe and it’s safe to say the season never got any better after that.

15 Mar 2019 08:31:52
Gerrard has done wonders, he wants us to play a high tempo pressing game, we don't quite have the players for this to work, I honestly believe he would like to play 3 5 2 but we ain't had the centre backs. Our team is only maybe 20% better than last year but w4e now have more strength in depth. Sharp has it right 3 or 4 quality signings and we are much stronger.

15 Mar 2019 08:39:38
The question is . Will Gerrard stay at Rangers? By that i mean will he be offered a job down south in the summer or will he leave because the job is to big for him at this present time or will he indeed stay at Rangers. What do you think guys?

15 Mar 2019 08:59:50
The job is not too big for SG but it would seem that, for some supporters, Rangers are too small for them, as the reality does not match their perceptions and beliefs.

15 Mar 2019 09:21:24
Coop although we have a difference of an opinion regarding Shinnie I don’t want Gerrard gone but I for once found myself agreeing with kris boyd regarding lee wallace what is the truth regarding that, why was Katic poorly treated when Worrall has no intention of staying surely Goldson and Katic should be the two CB to build a understanding for next season. Back to boyds point regarding the left wing why so many and Jones has still to come with Kent still on there wish list. The next window is crucial for Gerrard and Mark Allen IMO.

15 Mar 2019 11:58:48
Would have to go with the same answer as yesterday coop👍.

15 Mar 2019 13:06:38
Agree Coldo, some of us don’t change our opinions every 24 hrs. As the facts change I will reconsider my opinion, I remain very much behind SG to lead our famous club.

15 Mar 2019 13:35:54
I want gerrard to be a success, everyone does but we have massively under achieved domestically this year. We have spent over 10mil, got some really good players in goldson arfield kent mcgregor. Big names for big bucks davis and defoe and we are nowhere nearer to winning a trophy. We did over achieve in europe, maybe that built up hope. The only thing we can do is improve from now until the end of the season, get 4 or 5 better players in the summer and go again next season.
