Does anyone know why Bates hasn’t signed a new deal contract should be sorted by now

16 Mar 2018 08:08:02
I heard he was looking for £10k per week.

16 Mar 2018 11:56:36
Apparently turned down two offers. Highest 4k

16 Mar 2018 12:49:21
Hes a friend of mines and from what I know rangers are only offering 1 year extension. He is looking for a longer deal.

15 Mar 2018 20:59:07
If cordoso and alves play on saturday we will lose the game imo.

15 Mar 2018 21:04:43
Ok then RfcChris, who plays as our centre back pairing against kilmarnock on saturday mate?

15 Mar 2018 21:30:23
That's the spirit.

15 Mar 2018 23:03:39
Alves is not worth the wages. But he was the best CB on the park on Sunday. Won everything in the air. None of the goals were his fault on Sunday. Don’t remember Dembele getting the better if Alves once during the game. Cardoso on the other hand 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

15 Mar 2018 22:22:37
Talk about getting behind the team Chris Jesus! We have to get behind the boys whoever plays

15 Mar 2018 23:53:24
Think you will find that Scott Brown's ball sailed straight over Alves head! Though I do agree that apart from costing us that goal! He was excellent. 😱

16 Mar 2018 00:41:45
Dunbar, I see where you’re coming from but I feel that’s Cardoso’s ball to deal with. He was man marking Dembele at the time, who Brown was aiming for. But he still could have tried to attack the ball I suppose.

16 Mar 2018 08:48:36
Both central defenders were to blame for Dembele goal they were caught sleeping and flat footed, brown has admitted it was just a clearance as they were under pressure our defenders should have dealt with that ball it was shocking goal to loose, if you look at the stats we are the best attacking team in the league but just have a look at our goals conceded it's not good reading, I like Bates he's young but is a good player Alves has seen better days Cardoso he's not for me Martin has been a bit of a disappointment after all the hype I expected more, in the summer transfer window we need two quality CBs for next season then I'd play McCrorie or Jack in the holding midfield position they wouldn't give Brown the space he gets, someone needs to be in his face he controlled that midfield, I think Morelos has taken the flack for the old firm result and his Miss was bad but his contribution to the team on Sunday was emence he got us up the park put Celtic defence under huge pressure, I'm not a huge fan of Cummings he doesn't bring the same physicality to the game as Morelos and two up top is not the answer as that leaves us short in midfield but we are far closer now than we have been in recent games but I have to admit Celtic have the edge as their players have been winning games a long time now and that breeds confidence and we are still lacking that swagger but it will come we all need to get behind the team starting tomorrow give them the support they deserve no matter who is picked

16 Mar 2018 10:10:50
It's a shame that Martin, Bates and McCrorie are all injured and that Danny Wilson left. What about Aidan Wilson? Didn't he play one or two games earlier this season? Alternatively, play Tavernier, Alves and John in a back 3 and Holt and Goss in front of them, then Docherty, Murphy, Windass; Morelos, Cummings in a 3-2-3-2?

16 Mar 2018 11:37:29
There is no way we can got o a back 3 with Tav and John involved. They are not defensive minded players at all.

If it is only Alves and Cardoso then so be it. Kilmarnock are doing ok but they are still only Killie!

16 Mar 2018 11:51:12
I hope that wasn't a genuine formation suggestion cause it's far too unbalanced and would leave us horribly exposed at the back. Would require midfielders to be constantly covering at wing back or centre back. Play cardoso and Alves and work hard to limit their involvement in the game.

16 Mar 2018 12:06:10
Fair enough lads but we have conceded 3 against Celtic and 3 against Hamilton recently and Ayr United took the lead against too.

16 Mar 2018 15:39:46
Btw, Wallace has been playing bounce games as a CB. Not a bad shout considering we are struggling there.

16 Mar 2018 21:53:22
So with Alves and cardoso we will lose but stick bates along side one of them and that will be loads better then yeah?

15 Mar 2018 12:17:12
Very disappointed following the weekend but questioning managers seems to be the new thing. I think murty looks and sounds like a rangers manager and is a football brain who needs to learn. Give him time. This chopping and changing managers does no good and puts us back to square one every time. Keep him in, invest in him and back him. In time he will get it right and seems to have players loving being at the club again. No doubt for me we will come good under murty. Yes he should have made the changes when they went down to 10 men but from what I see when we make mistakes they seem to be addressed under him. I would have liked to see a better mentality when we went ahead but taking away the disappointment I thought there were positives there. Give the manager time to build.

15 Mar 2018 14:50:35
Before Sunday's game he picked up more points than any other manager in the SPL since taking charge. That's now not the case and Rodgers has 1 point better than Murty, however Rangers still have the best attacking stats in the league by a considerable margin since Murty took over, it's easy to see what area of the pitch we need to improve.

But my point is, since taking over his stats are very close to Celtics, shown by what I said above.

I personally want Murty to at least get an extension for next season, but i fear if we are knocked out the semi final Old Firm game the fans will kick up and we will seek a new manager.

15 Mar 2018 16:55:12
No matter what happens in the semi final, i truly think and hope our directors, give graeme murty a 12 month rolling contract, at the end of this campaign! He's undoubtedly imo, shown that he has the players playing for him! He's also impressed on the way he's stamped the style on his rangers team and the way he wants them to play! Murty's signings along with mark allen in january have also been impressive! They both dovetail together! Lastly, there would be no upheaval giving murty at least a 12 month rolling contract! We just can't keep getting rid of managers and starting again! This is all WHY, i most definitely reckon that murty remains as our manager, beyond this season! Thoughts fellow bears?

15 Mar 2018 17:15:24
Disagree with no matter what happens in the semi final as a very heavy defeat would damage his chances of landing the job. Felt before Sunday that he had to win 1 of the 3 games against Celtic to get the job but feel that’s a very tall order now.

15 Mar 2018 17:46:13
Let murty get a chance of getting closer to celtic with at least another couple of transfer windows for god's sake! He's shown he has an eye for a player to suit the style he wants his rangers team to play! He's not a miracle worker mate! Murty you've got to remember has only had ONE transfer window and i think most of us bears have been impressed with his signings!

15 Mar 2018 18:06:32
Supercooper

Sorry but you said the same about Warburton! According to you he was building something special and you took exception to anyone suggesting otherwise as though no one was allowed an opinion that you didn’t agree with. I am giving my opinion on him and if you don’t like it tough

15 Mar 2018 18:30:29
Mate a helluva lot of us thought warburton was the man, probably you included! Doesn't mean to say that bin murty because he could go the same way as warburton! On the flip side he could go the opposite way from warburton! We can't keep being negative by saying because people were wrong, me included, with warburton that murty doesn't deserve the job because he MIGHT be the same! I'm afraid mate, football doesn't work like that! The positives on murty far outweigh the negatives imo!

15 Mar 2018 22:20:24
I’m not your mate and please don’t assume that just because you were pro Warburton to the point where your posts became embarrassing. You also seem to be seeing things in my post that aren’t there. Where does it say bin Murty? My opinion is that I think he will need to beat Celtic once to get the job. He failed on Sunday and I think it will be difficult for him to beat them in the other 2. Also if he wasn’t given the job then he will go back to the youth team which isn’t being binned. So in future read posts before commenting on them

16 Mar 2018 07:54:21
Ok arthurD, what do you want me to call you? Mate is being respectful and is a figure of speech amongst a lot of us on here! Of course there's disagreements and difference of opinions! that's what these pages allow us ALL to do! So cut the crap with coming out with opening statements like that!

16 Mar 2018 11:40:09
Murty is along the right lines in terms of what we are looking for in a manager. The only guy who is possibly a better version is Steve Clarke. I would understand it if the board went for him if the cup run ends.

16 Mar 2018 11:47:38
I don't mind murty and like the way we play (attacking wise) these days. I've said in the past, let's wait and see where we finish up at the end of the season before lauding murty too much.

16 Mar 2018 13:13:06
Supercooper

Well if you would actually read what I post instead of making things up then maybe we could have a proper discussion.

16 Mar 2018 13:24:10
No hard feelings ArthurD! We're all bears and on here with different opinions for the same cause, "THE FAMOUS GLASGOW RANGERS"! If i've taken your point on graeme murty out of context, i apologise!

15 Mar 2018 10:59:39
A fine win for our under 17s against Septic under 17s, winning 4-2. A hat=trick for Josh McPake. Anyone seen this young lad play? With our under 20s playing well doesn't this all sound good for the future?

15 Mar 2018 14:34:14
Sure does doiger and to let’s be honest it’s been a breath of fresh air what the young lads have been doing instead of the standard youth leagues in Scotland.

15 Mar 2018 08:19:15
Morning everyone, I've only just cooled down from the weekends game. Celtic were there for he taking a rookie goalkeeper and a goal up in 2 minutes we should have went for the jugular but we sat off them . Same when they go down to 10 men get Cummings on push them back and beat them but we sat off them again? . Key moment for me is they score in first half injury time we go in 2-1up we win the game in my opinion. I like Murty and want him given the job full time but he has to know Walter would have bullied them from the off and destroyed them. Now it's time there fans have to be put in the corner with a reduced ticket allocation, there behaviour in our stadium is not acceptable throwing flashbang missiles into a crowd for example someone is going to be badly injured or worse enough Rangers get them in the corner. Time we all stood up for ourselves the club and supporters and take no more sh*t from them. Ahhhh I feel much better now. c'mon us.

15 Mar 2018 11:48:38
Well said Robbie🇬🇧

15 Mar 2018 11:54:42
Robbie, as usual the Bhoys prevaild at Ipox. There was never any doubt. We will win the next 2 games this season as well. The double treble is odds on now. Nothing worse than a sore looser. I suggest you have a look at your own fans before commenting on ours, Manchester is still recovering.

15 Mar 2018 13:43:47
you really want to go there daftbet?

15 Mar 2018 14:13:36
Dafabet, don't know why it hasn't been reported in the press but a wee boy around 9 or 10 was injured on Sunday by a flash bang thrown by your mob not far from me. I'm not condoning Manchester but time you lot stopped living off Seville shouting about how yous are the best fans in the world when you clearly aren't.

15 Mar 2018 14:37:21
The celtic fans showed there class with the street brawls after the game and the footage of a couple of there fans calling Russell Martin all sorts Of obscenities in a shop. Nothing in the news but there was news of Sinclair getting abused in airport just no evidence to back it up but it’s in the rags.

15 Mar 2018 15:02:54
RobbieC, Maybe they did have a rookie in goal, but would you call Graham Roberts a rookie? It is not a given the team with ten men and a rookie Goalkeeper will lose.

15 Mar 2018 17:12:06
There really is nothing worse than a sore looser.

15 Mar 2018 17:21:00
Dafabet

Never in any doubt? Come on? Your players and Manager wouldn’t have celebrated the way they did at the end of the result wasn’t in doubt. Fair enough you want to comment on a Rangers site but please refrain from talking nonsense and making yourself look stupid. Both fans have had recent history of poor behaviour at each other’s grounds and rather than cut allocations they should look at identity dying the people involved and taking the appropriate action

15 Mar 2018 20:15:39
Lee Rigby? Your famous fans singing about a young soldier serving his country who was brutally murdered in the streets. Disgusting. Poor family were shown no respect from your fans.

16 Mar 2018 08:52:25
Guys I know that your all still sore, when will things ever go your way. not for a good while, maybe after Brendan does 10 and heads off for a new challenge. I stand by my comments we will win the remaining games against you boys. Did you see the rangers fans marching all in black before the game, making offensive signs etc. I fully agree that some of the Celtic fans are bad apples, but you boys are on a different level. Take defeat on the chin and see what happens, however Brendan’s record is Very good against you boys, I just can’t see any glimmer of hope for you all.

16 Mar 2018 09:20:59
God I know, marching whilst wearing black! We really are a horrible bunch. Marching in black is so much worse that defeaning little boys and fighting amongst yourselves in the street.

16 Mar 2018 09:45:45
Hey Rutherglen, I see I have hooked another Sevvie. The facts are there for all to see, Celtic are far better than your Journeymen pros. 3-1 Celtic in the cup and then 2-0 at Celtic Park. When all is said and done you will finish 18 points behind with Aberdeen second. Murty must stay 😂🙏🙌😜
