15 Jun 2016 22:11:11
Never mind the rumours where are the new signings! Since season ended made 2 let 4 guys go! Thought we were doing our business early MW? Where is the cash DK? Thoughts? .

15 Jun 2016 22:59:35
Spot on mate. Second transfer window turning into a disappointment. No wonder Warbs is not signing any extension we have no money.

15 Jun 2016 23:00:09
We have made a few it's early plus everyone is on holiday at the euroz or with there family I'm confident we will make more I'd be concerned if there was no 1 threw the doors like the other side things will start heating up when everyone gets back to business n Dave King is doing exactly what we asked for run the club with what we can afford he's brought in a great manager and got a scout in mc p steadyed the ship we r back where we belong I'm the most impatient person I no on every sight checking what's happening doesn't mean I'm not confident in what's happening behind closed doors happy we r back and confident we will bring in the right players so should u Follow follow.

16 Jun 2016 07:15:05
Robson kanu and Tom bradshaw! Get them in!

16 Jun 2016 08:04:07
Because its end of season people are on holiday, european transfer window doesn't open til 1st july . krancjar can't join us till 30th june due to his contract with cosmos . everyone needs to calm down and be patient.

16 Jun 2016 09:40:49
The transfer window in Scotland opened on the 9th June and runs until 1st September. Chill your beans. Warbs isn't even in the country let alone the players he is trying to sign.

16 Jun 2016 06:53:19
Ok doc let's just jump in and sign anyone who is available. We are keeping things quiet which is good in my eyes. Wait unt mw is back from his coaching course and we will see whose coming in.

16 Jun 2016 10:47:40
smelltheglove your counting is rubbish mate we have brought in windass, crooks, rossiter and barton, that's 4 better quality players than the ones we released!
Its early doors still, he didn't say I will do all my business within seven days of the transfer window opening we have plenty of time.

plus we will be getting a few loan players that probs won't come until late in the end of july!

16 Jun 2016 11:26:13
I get that MW is on holiday or coaching badges whatever, but when in rangers history does the manager have to be in town to sign someone? Surely he said look there's my list I am away on holiday gon and get them! After all we have been thru too many supports lying about with big smiles on their faces pulling daiseys out of Bartons ass! Let's do more shouting and get some answers! Oh and James Stirling my counting is fine but your reading is rubbish I said 'Since season ended. ' Lol.

15 Jun 2016 17:19:29
A little concerned about the players being linked to the club but lack of closures, can someone just reassure me all is well.

15 Jun 2016 17:58:53
Think everyone would say the same mate.

Early in the window, we've already signed up four players, nobody else has done any business etc.

But it's like any other year. Transfer season is on and this week we'll be linked with Clint Hill, Greg Stewart and Khalid Aucho. Next week it'll be Danny Ings, Alex Pritchard and Kolo Toure.

It's what comes with the papers not having anything really concrete I suppose. Looking left, right, and centre, then something comes out of the blue and excites everyone, proving all the doubters wrong.

15 Jun 2016 18:52:30
Have a wee bit of patience. We have been very active so far, and I'm sure the management team still are, they will want the right players in but not at any cost, so they will be looking at several different players for the positions we need to strengthen. This unfortunately takes time. Yes we were quick of the mark with Barton and co, but not everyone will be rushed in.

Also unfortunately the papers know we need to strengthen and are linking us with anyone out of contract anyone we've shown a slight interest in and of course former players.

Trust in the management team. They will get in the right players we want and need. Patience my friend.

15 Jun 2016 20:56:54
Let's look at the facts. The business we have done so far has been positive and I know, as well as all you guys, that the tabloids will blow any RFC linked story out of proportion for sales.
Our madjestic manager will sign players we've not even heard of but they'll fit into his plans.
MW contract will be sorted one way or the other but he'll see out his current one as he is a gentleman.
As for Mark Wright🤔 Can't believe it's even a topic on this site.
I trust Mark Warburtons judgement unconditionally.
We'll be READY.

15 Jun 2016 22:11:58
Behave Bill, the English window isn't opened yet I'm pretty sure we have targets picked out and we will see players coming in when it opens. We have probably been the most active in Scotland so far.

15 Jun 2016 20:54:52
Clint Hill surely no.

15 Jun 2016 16:31:25
Come home now Vlad!

16 Jun 2016 10:54:17
its a shame he has just signed for al-gharafa!
id love to see that boy back and wasn't happy he left if the first place.

15 Jun 2016 15:57:35
Slovakia keeper Kozicak played well tonight, we need a keeper that'll command the box and this guy does that. Got 1 year left on his contract but at 1 million present market value would be a steal imo.

15 Jun 2016 17:00:25
I agree, I reckon that we will be found wanting in the SPL unless we have a keeper that controls his penalty box and can take cross balls. That said, even the best keeper in the world will struggle if we do not have two competent centre backs and right now we are still about four or five quality players short.

All we have done in reality is replace those that were destined to leave and even then we are still at least two short of where we were.

Hopefully we will see some activity over the next ten days albeit that we might need to wait until early July for the right players to come in once the Euro's are over.

15 Jun 2016 20:25:59
I liked that Icelandic keeper, have no idea who he is or who he plays for but he look solid last night.

16 Jun 2016 11:39:42
Seaofibrox the guy you're talking about is Hannes Halldorsson 32 years old on loan to FK Bolde/ Glimt from NEC Nijmegen, big guy 1.93m great shot stopper and commands his box. Contracted till 2017, market value on his profile €400,000. D King get yer cheque book out now.

15 Jun 2016 15:40:13
Nobody else find the Russian manager's name funny?!

Slutski!

I know it's immature but I don't get out much haha.

15 Jun 2016 15:32:10
Watching Slovakia/ Russia game, player standing out is Slovakia CB Jan Durica. Out of contract this month. No nonsence CB, could do a good job for us. Like to hear other peoples thoughts.

15 Jun 2016 17:01:00
Agreed but don't see it happening!

15 Jun 2016 15:15:03
wee Vladimir weis seems to be ripping it up I think he has just joined another club is this true and what would u think if we could get him back has bit more muscle now and is powerfull aswell as quick.

15 Jun 2016 16:26:32
Great player on his day, but honestly would prefer sone Aluko back instead.

15 Jun 2016 17:07:03
Wiess plays in Qatar, he's wasted out there.

16 Jun 2016 11:02:44
defo wasted out there! and sone aluko doesn't like us he tried to sue us remember more chance of henrik Larson being our next manager! although that being said i'd love to see aluko back but just won't ever happen.

15 Jun 2016 15:06:37
Vlad Weiss playing an absoulte blinder against the Russians would love it if we had the money to secure his services (and a few others of the same quality! ) given his love for the club, even if we did have the cash it wouldn't happen now at this stage as i believe he's signed on elsewhere.

15 Jun 2016 15:23:01
he is absolutely ripping them a new one and will do the same to England I feel! but i'm sure he has just signed elsewhere and I wish we had been quicker to get him back as he is stronger than he was and more confident.

15 Jun 2016 15:06:37

15 Jun 2016 20:18:30
Weiss is a we nanny, all this love crap is doing my nut in.

16 Jun 2016 11:04:16
great wee player stuzo don't get where your coming form.

15 Jun 2016 14:52:22
Been happy with the recruitment so far guys also think clint hill would do a job for a year at least just look at Sir Davies time, but I'm a bit concerned at the lack of spending I know we've not got tens of millions but surely we'll have to spend on some quality too? Personally I'd drop kiernan wilsons proved before he's got it next to a cool experienced head but we need cover for every defensive position and a quality striker thoughts?

15 Jun 2016 15:51:30
Time will tell if we spend money on players .
Remember the more quality player we bring in will demand higher wages, so whatever budget MW has I'm confident he will use it wisely .

15 Jun 2016 17:13:30
I think the money will be spent on a centre forward, if the quality is out there on frees then we should definitely be looking to exploit it. Hill is left sided so he may be more suited to playing with Kiernon as Wilson is more comfortable on the left of the two.

15 Jun 2016 18:23:05
Surely we can get better than a 37 year old and you can't compare him with Weir as he came from Everton having played a lot of seasons in the EPL. Think Hill has been at struggling championship teams and at 37 he isn't going to improve. If these rumours are true then it's really worrying and will confirm that we have next to no money to spend. No way can we possibly compete with Celtic signing players like that.

15 Jun 2016 19:34:17
I agree Biffo about Hill not being up to par. Ok, he is 'experienced', but what use is that if you have no pace and are a total liability? So many occasions I watched him and he looked ropy at best. He might do a job if the team was set u defensively and sitting deep where he would organise from the back, but we don't play that way, nor should we.

15 Jun 2016 14:39:40
Well done we Weiss with his goal, took it well. Love to see a proper bluenose score on the big stage. Would love him back at Ibrox, even though we've got plenty of options in his position. I know a was saying yday not to go down the old player route but for him I'd make an exception, simply because he's one of us!

15 Jun 2016 14:34:59
Is it me or does that fact that Iceland, Albania, Austria, Northern Ireland etc with populations similar of (much) smaller to Scotland can compete and qualify for major tournaments not highlight that we need a complete root and branch clearout of the football authorities?

This is not about Strachan, McLeish, Voghts etc, it's simply that we are not developing skillful, hungry players who can perform at a level that can make the nation proud.

Rangers played nice football last season but apart from a few flashes from a few other teams, the quality is dismal - we will never compete with England, Spain or even Switzerland unless we develop a few genuine stars and upgrade the average professional player.

15 Jun 2016 14:56:18
My personal view is that Scotland suffers from a multiplicity of problems that detract from having a quality football team. It starts at grass roots level where the structure and financial support is not there as it is elsewhere in world football. The SFA has to be at fault here and the government could certainly help in this.

There also, IMO, needs to be more coaching for schools football and boys club football coaches, and children need to be helped develop their football skills. At that level it is not just about winning!

At International Level we need a full management team like Warburton and Weir or like the guy at Celtic that thinks out of the box rather than the usual Scottish Managers with, in general, their old fashioned brand of 'Scottish type' kick and rush football!

The Baxters' of this world might not be there any more but, as we have seen with McKay, there is still a lot of quality youngsters.

One of the problems is exactly the opposite to what you said Tom42. I lived in Germany for years, played, coached and have friendships with people in the football world over there. You can't say that they don't develop players, know how to win, or not skillful. Yet from a very young age they know the roles of there position and know how to win. At a football tournament at even 6,7 year old will get a trophy if last, yet as the better they do, the trophy gets bigger and better. Winners is the one they all want.
Let's look at our namby pampy country where you can't even tell someone they came first at a school sports day as everyone must be the same, i. e. Taking part that counts. If it's the taking part that counts, why does everyone get onto teams backs when the loose or get put out a competition. The drive to exceed and be the best at whatever sport, subject or even person must be there otherwise being Jo-average will always be the norm to the youth of today.

15 Jun 2016 12:21:43
Scotland head coach Gordon Strachan believes that Euro 2016 should be made an alcohol-free zone to prevent a repeat of fighting between England and Russia fans in Marseille at the weekend. (Daily Record)

Strachan getting it wrong again! Pretty sure the organised Russian fans weren't on the pop?

15 Jun 2016 13:04:27
ovcourse he is wrong just like he is wrong to stand by players like scott brown and the two fletchers these guys have never been succesfull for Scotland so replace them i'd rather play 11 18 year old boys than the team he plays!

at least then they might gel well together and have a chance of qualifying at a competition one day.

15 Jun 2016 13:44:47
Gordon Strachan can only play with what talent he has at his disposal and as we all know its pretty piss poor. I can't understand people slating him because its the players playing for our country that can make the difference and truth is they just ain't good enough. Why get rid of Gordon, if all that's going to happen is they bring in a new manager and the same thing happens all over again.

15 Jun 2016 13:55:52
bluendglasgow. Not true at all. He uses Celtic players over English Championship and premier league quality players. we could do well if he picked the right players.

15 Jun 2016 14:18:37
I agree onlyshow. I seen somewhere that our squad would have been the 11th most expensive at the tournament had we got there. The last 3 managers we've had have been terrible, blaming the players for their own inadequacy. The SFA better for appointing them. Strachans been a failure everywhere bar Celtic and even then we were terrible then.
Guys like Mcarthur, Rhodes, Mcmormack should have well more caps. Every team we play knows exactly who's playing and it's not hard to figure out how to beat them, just watch a video of the countless other teams who have beaten us. I won't watch them again till he goes, I can't stand the man, or Burley or Levien. They've not a personality between them.
There's guys like Billy Davies, Mcinnis, Moyes who could all do better. Time for change.

15 Jun 2016 14:19:28
If he's that good a manger why oh why does he play Fletcher over a proven goal machine like Rhodes who can't even make the squad?

Gordon Greer?

Belgium have a similar population to Scotland but they got fed up and restarted how they do things from 6 year olds to the full squad being managed by well trained coaches, they missed a few tournaments but look at them now, that's the road we need to go down, not this constant barrel scraping and STILL not making it.

15 Jun 2016 14:43:57
He plays guys like mulgrew even when they aren't playing for there clubs, mccotmack and Rhodes not even making squads same with cairney. He picks his pals that's it.

15 Jun 2016 15:04:12
Watching Scotland is an embarrassment. The same poor players turn out each game, the manager appears to be weary of replacing them with younger players and unlike the ROI, Scotland does not look for reasons why a player of other country origin cannot play for the country.

I have watched the Euro's from the USA and most country's with the exception perhaps of Northern Ireland, has a 'special player', that can make the difference. Scotland would be soundly beaten by most countries that I have watched play! Watching the Copa America I am also seeing quality players, even with the less fancied nations, players incidentally that could do a job for Rangers!

The quality of player isn't there in Scotland at present and quite honestly, so
called managers like McCoist are to blame since they do not blood youngsters.

If Scottish Football is lucky enough to keep Warburton and the guy at Celtic for the next five or more years then the potential will be there for a decent quality Scottish National Team; then all they will need is a quality manager for the International Team!

Fellow Bears, any ideas what the TV time slots will probably be for the games? (I know the fixtures r not out yet) I live in London and try to get up for as many games as poss but bookin cheap flights is hard as games change for TV. If I come up Fridays leave on Sun eves I should b covered for all outcomes (last season I got caught out wi a Mon eve KO tho - can't do Mondays) What's the latest KO time Sun afternoons? Cheers.

15 Jun 2016 11:39:04
You will need to wait till fixtures are out then BT and sky will decide which games will be on TV i would imagine games will be 12.30 pm on a sat or the sunday and maybe the occasional friday night for tv can't imagine many games on the monday.

15 Jun 2016 09:55:43
Li t Hill and Mark Wright this has got to be a joke to old pensioners Brenda Rodgers and the MHANKS will be sitting there self's for next season.

15 Jun 2016 09:00:32
I think we should focus on getting Ball signed on a contract rather than a loan deal as he should develop and become a good asset for the future. Hardie deserves a chance to shine as banged goals in when loaned out. Midfield seems solid now we just need the extra resource for gk, cd and up top. With arsenal and Spurs looking to spend big there fringe players may look at us as good option to progress for 12-24 months.

15 Jun 2016 08:29:43
You'd think Gers fans would have learned from the mistakes of the past buying expensive players for large sums of money and paying them ridiculous wages. These days are gone now but you wouldn't think so from all the names being bandied about on here! We've signed Barton, Rossiter, Crooks and Windass for next to nothing and offloaded a handful of players who were out of contract. I'd be happy to see a couple more signings at similar level but please, please give some of the kids a chance in the first team including Hardie, Burt and Walsh. Some of the names mentioned on here as possible signings are frankly mad!

15 Jun 2016 08:41:03
Hi first time poster but totally agree we have got to live within our means and believe the magic hat will do us proud in the coming season Mon the Gers.

15 Jun 2016 12:01:39
We are living within our means anyway, the rest is speculation.
