How can Fifa push through the international clearance of the Rangers players and allow them to join other teams if it is still unclear about the contracts? If it is true that the newco has them bought and they belong to Rangers then surely they cannot walk away free without punishment? {Ed039's Note - I think this is something that is going to drag on for quite a while)

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Has slavery not been abolished? You can only purchase players if they want to come.

RFC are no longer a football club, players are free to leave. They can sign for Sevco or anyone else for that matter.

Fraser Wishart stated on SSB (Clyde1) the other night that Duff and Phelps had not spoken to him since the players took paycuts. The walkaway players also claim Green did not speak to them about transfering to Sevco. Maybe if Green had spoken to Naismith, Whittaker et al they would have transferred to Sevco. At least untill they could be sold. FIFA will agree with the walkaway players as they dont have a contract with a scottish football club. RFC are dead and they did not sign for Sevco

Well Bomber managed to raise £40,000 towards buying the club. Good effort Bomber but i dont think it is going to be enough.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

The report I read said he was donating 40k of his own money and trying to raise 10m

Agree4 Disagree2

Wrongly worded it was a donation. Still it is not going to be enough to get Rangers.

Agree2 Disagree0

Symbolic £1 each for the 40,000 season ticket holders as compensation for the Whyte purchase.

ea play Let SKY broker a deal for the
Old firm to join E4 & rise together
playing 4 times a year & let Craig
organise a game vs Lilliput @
Hamden,crowd blazers+2000

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Why?
The Premiership doesn't need the old firm .
Fifa don't allow teams from different countries to join other leagues, if they did you would have teams from all over applying to join E P L because of the amount of cash involved.
Rangers and Celtic may feel they are to big for Scottish football but they have to accept that is all they have . So make the best of it and get on with trying to make our game as exciting as possible..

Sky are a broadcasting company they SHOW football.
English leagues neither want Newco or Celtic, nor do they need them. When will those facts ever sink in ?

Agree6 Disagree1

Good post you are spot on Sky dont need "OLD FIRM GAMES", they make same money showing the English games, we were sponsored up here by SKY to keep the punters happy to a degree, as most punters in Scotland DONT GIVE "TOSS" ABOUT OLD FIRM they will just hype up the Edinburgh derbes or if Dfc go up the Dundee ones.

Agree3 Disagree3

@1 Although I agree that the EPL don't need us and there is no chance of us getting into the English leagues, they already have teams from another country playing in their leagues. They have several Welsh teams like Swansea, Wrexham & Cardiff. Heck, Cardiff is even the capital city of Wales and they have a team in the English divisions. Lets also not forget that Scotland also have Berwick Rangers and Berwick Upon Tweed is in the North of England.

Well my heart feels as if its been ripped out my chest. Its taken some time for me to get my head around what has happened to my beloved club. I have argued black is white throughout our troubles with the likes of miko, timalloy n lenny but it has taken its toll over the past month or so. But now we know what division we will play our football in next season, we have to be positive n look forward. lets not hold grudges towards the likes of dundee utd, hearts ect, ect, yes they were quick to kick us when we were down but they never put us down, the damage was caused by men in charge of our club.....no one else. We are where we deserve to be n all we can do is endevour to get back to where we once where. our first trophy as a newco will be as sweet as any, those players who strive to get us back to the top will become instant legends, our support will still be as renowned........no more self pity lads, lets be positive n show every other club in scotland that we may have fallen but shall rise with our heads held high.
J1985 {Ed052's Note - Well said

Think how sweet it will feel as big Jig holds aloft that first (of many) Trophy. The feelings of despair we all feel right now will start to fade and prove we are on the way back to where we belong...THE TOP CLUB IN THE WORLD

Agree4 Disagree5

Big Jig will forever be remembered as the man who lead by example throughout this whole saga. "Rangers men" like Davis, Lafferty, Naismith and McGregor were all quick to go whilst big Jig set the bar for the commitment and attitude needed to get this club back to where we belong.

If i was on a 5 year contract worth 12k - 15k a week playing for the club i loved and in the 4th year of that contract i was told that i was needed to reduce my wage and help the club rise from the depths we find ourselves in i would not hesitate. Big Jig's commitment and desire represents that of us supporters. I cannot express my admiration and respect for the man in words.........

Prediction on the outcome of tomorrows SPL meeting - SPL and the SFL will merge and create a new 3 division league. There will be 14 teams in each league with play off's and a pyramid systems as requested by the SFL clubs. The Rangers FC (2012) will start in the 2nd division - this will appease the SPL, SFL and SFA. The chairmen of the 42 clubs will then vote to accept new structure no matter what their supporters want. If the Company I work for wants to change things, they certainly dont ask my opinion.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

My prediction is NO CHANGE to league structure this year at least and very likely Regan to be out of a job by the end of the week.

Believable11 Unbelievable7

Or watching there team lose 1-0 to german minnows?

Agree6 Disagree4

Who cares how celtic did against some german minnows. we were beaten by a similar calibre of side last pre season, incidentally in germany too.

Celtic are gearing up for a CL campaign whilst we are gearing up for div 3. Can we focus on us rather than having an unhealthy obsession with celtic. Bigger things to focus on guys than a non competitive, pre season kickabout that celtic were beaten in.

all this crap about wanting to start again in div 3 is starting to make me laugh , i spoke on friday after the vote, to a workmate and he was in tears 40 years of his life devoted to rangers and for to end up like this broke his heart . thats what true supporters are feeling not hatred to everyone else . i hope for his sake rangers make a speedy return to where they belong

Believable8 Unbelievable5

We are all taking a hit on this. I have been following the gers since the late 60's and being liquidated, then a newco in Div 3 is like a death in the family. But we will get over this and move on. We're in this mess due to our own fault (not the fans etc i know) and it's time to stop blaming others, roll up our sleeves and get down to the hard work of rebuilding our club in SFL3. Stop with the bickering about other Clubs/fans etc, it is getting us nowhere. Let's concentrate on picking up the pieces and begin anew.

gloat if you want at the demise of scottish football, but if other clubs have to cut their cloth, then Rangers have an even bigger cloth to cut now, no tv money, reduced season ticket prices, so from £700, they will now be down at around £200, loss of sponsors and comercial partners, or renegotiation of less attractive deals, i doubt their will be 45000 at home games and i would say a reasonable 25000 is a good start, then wages need to come down, no more 10-15k a week for players, more like 1k a week. then there are the overheads of a huge stadium, large staff numbers, even large police bill for home games , costs of running Murray park, etc etc, so yes while some SPL clubs will be in serious cash flow bother, they do have a team, they do have season tkt sales at SPL prices, sponsors and comercial partners, and there still will be some tv money, even if it were Channel 5, or BBC, or even a deal with BTs new football channel, also there are Premier Sports, so yes maybe not the millions of SKY but to suggest that 16 mill is lost, is just a misrepresentation. Rangers will lose out big time as well now, and with the BTC still in the air, there is more likelyhood of Rangers going back into administration as any other SPL club in the current climate. The fans will return in numbers next season, season tkt sales of all clubs have sofar increased in the SPL compared to last season and thats a good foundation to mvoe forward and maybe a time to bring through young scottish players instead of paying huge wages for journeymen from around europe, the game will be better for this in 3-5 years time, let it now run its course, and i urge all fans of all clubs to go out and support their team, who needs the evil corrupt empire known as SKY

Believable4 Unbelievable11

Who at the club will be gettin 10 to 15 grand at rangers they have all left thts why they aint there

Agree3 Disagree0

Sky have a right to pull the plug without Rangers in the SPL. 79% of SPL games watched on SKY during 2011/2012 involved Rangers. 49% being Rangers v Celtic. Of the top 10 games for viewing figures 9 of them involved Rangers. Without Rangers SKY will be losing £m's.

Nobody wished for the current plight of rangers. It was mismanagement of the highest order at ibrox that has us where we are today. Most sensible rangers fans can see that a new company has to start at the bottom. Not out of some illogical financial vengeance against other spl teams, just the right and proper way forward for the supporters of a once proud club.

Looking at posts over past couple of
days, you all seem to be gloating that
some SPL clubs will suffer because
you are now in SFL3.
I did some research and found that most
SPL clubs have reported an increase
in season ticket sales.
Also sorry bears, but the SKY tv money
will be paid as normal this season, I
have been told by a person who knows
about these things, that SPL had an
option to renew SKY deal from 2012/2013
which they have done, so all monies
due will be paid on 6 august, despit
best scaremongering of ex RFC apologists.
Now to your own club, with no tv monies
very little sponsorship, and reduced
crowds paying less than SPL rates,
your club will struggle to break even
this season.
If Celtic reach Champions League
group stages for next 3 years we
will earn minimum £40m MORE than
your club. How are you going to
make up such a big financial gap
Timalloy

Believable8 Unbelievable19

How are you going to reach the Champions stages? You are going to loose big earners you dont need to compete against Rangers for 3 years. It does amaze me that you are in a Rangers Forum ranting p@&sh!
Jog on nobody wants you in here spreading your anti Rangers venom.

Agree11 Disagree3

Haha if celtic make group stages! Haha cheered me right up, turn off the computer and go to bed.

Agree12 Disagree3

Celtic will have significantly higher costs. End of. Also think Celtic will struggle to attract players of the current standard in 12 months time. I don't wish the death of the spl but as a fan fan living outside Scotland, the spl is very poor standard and I think more fans will stop watching in years to come.

Agree8 Disagree3

Timalloy, you have been told all these things by Ed007 so why not just say this instead of pretending you know real people.
As for celtic getting into the group stages of europe, oh dear oh dear

Agree9 Disagree3

Champions league. Don't make me laugh. 40 million? Aye right you are.Pacific shelf are a laughing stock in Europe.

Agree7 Disagree3

Interesting, Timalloy says there will be no financial problem. I assume you know more than Kilmarnock's chairman and St Mirren's eh? Ignore what the businessmen running the club think timalloy says it all ok.

As for your Europe point, dream on you will be lucky to reach the group stages once in three seasons. You just don't get it do you? No competition means players will want to leave, the SPL will become even more of a joke league and as a result will be less attractive to foreign players who want to use it as a shop window for the EPL. Haven't you notice Wanyama already wants to leave.

Agree8 Disagree0

Quite simply you are talking b****cks about the Sky deal. I would be surprised if you actually knew anyone who would talk to you. Never mind somebody in the know. Quite simply Celtic have no chance of qualifying for the Champions league. Yet again you are showing yourself up for the idiot you are.

Have instructed the missus to cancel Sky Sports package as well as ESPN. Reason is that the famous Glasgow Rangers games will not be broadcast. Taking the cash and putting it on any team who plays celtic away in europe, thus enabling myself to buy season books for my son and I. Dear rangers fans , let us not pretend that div 3 is what we all want, it will be a disasterous 3 years till we return to the top flight ,our club will struggle along and possible get weaker although never die i hope. we are on the outside looking in , and yes maybe getting a laugh at others struggling even going bust like we did , but we are still on the outside , wanting in

Believable9 Unbelievable16

Don't think you talk for the majority, yes we want to be back but at a pace where we can compete which at the present time is not now,we will though move onwards and upwards

Div 3 is what we have been allowed to participate in. We have been permitted a place in the league structure thanks to the SFL clubs. It has nothing to do with what we want. We are a newco and have to rebuild and start again, this we will do and as long as the fans follow the team, then we will be back at the top table in the not-to-distant future.

It seems to me that two significant opportunities were missed in all of this, one by Rangers and one by the SFA. All due to missing the signs, ignoring them, hoping it would all go away or as is most likely a stubborn arrogance that believed "that cant happen to Rangers." I include the SFA in that particular culpability.

Easy to say now but follow the inevitable knock on affects of administration. Rangers were never going to get a paltry CVA by HMRC, long and weary it was said they wont deal with tax evaders. Did anyone believe it? No.

Any chance the CVA had died with Rangers not selling players post February 14, the bulk of the re-sellable assets have now left for nothing. You can sell players in administration so forget the "it was outwith the transfer window" garbage. Plus Rangers were losing over a million pounds a month, the reduction in wages would have helped that significantly. HMRC may have seen this as a genuine attempt to put as much as possible into the CVA pot, we'll never know.

From the SFA's point of view, did they really think SFL clubs would willingly shoehorn Rangers into Division 1? Somehow, however technically illegal, (not a first by any means in this fiasco) the SFA should have relegated Rangers, stripped them of whatver points they could to get the job done, not a hope of Division 3 if relegated. But this would have taken remarkable courage, not a trait in abundance at Hampden currently. If they can make up endless new interpretations and suggestions currently they could certainly have done so months ago, ie the two contracts (prima facie evidence). But nope they stupidly and arrogantly thought a few threats and dangled carrots will suffice, this lot will jump at the chance of playing Rangers four times. How wrong they were.

Too late in the day one club has found out that even the biggest can fall a long, long way. And an Association has learned that it takes it members for granted at its peril.

The Ed is right there is no embargo at the moment , it not just Celtic fans that are saying we are newco the whole world is. What makes me sick about all this and continues to make me sick is the moral high ground by most.

How many of us have:
stolen something
found something but kept it
perhaps not paid their Poll Tax back in the day
beaten someone up
witnessed an assault yet did nothing
speed when driving
perhaps drink when driving
claimed expenses they shouldn't
lied on their insurance forms
paid for labour in cash
taken cash for labour
the list can go on and on

There will be a good few of us on this list committing more than one offence.

Yet we all cant wait to point the finger elsewhere. Chastise, spew venom and anger with pure disgust. Condemn, ridicule hate, love to hate.

I am looking forward to no longer being associated with most of it. Looking forward to watching our club play football, with kids who want to play for us and earn good money not enormous money.
I'm looking forward to help support my club to start again, hopefully to do it the right way. Maybe we wont be the biggest club in Europe, maybe we wont be in Europe for many many years. I'm looking forward to paying good money and perhaps helping the lower leagues grow. In a few years take my young boys along and tell the story of it all. Maybe they will like it maybe they wont but I'll have a story and a moral point to make about it all. And when we get back to the top the story will be even bigger than it is currently, it might even be held in higher esteem than all the trophies. It will definitely bring back the pride.

Perhaps its time to leave Celtic and everyone else behind, let them squabble fight and perhaps disappear. There are new challenges to be taken up. New Trophies to be one new leagues to be conquered and new opponents to beat. All this will be done with a new Rangers, a better Rangers, a stronger Rangers. A Rangers who should never forget how we got here and how not to do it.

Guys,I'm a bit concerned that we only have 1 shot at getting this rebuilding job right and not sure we have men to do it.i think we should b looking at bringing maybe Dutch or Spanish coaches to the club and turning Murray park into a proper academy for super ally to work with.it may take longer to get to the spl but could give us a strong foundation for the future!

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Where is the money coming from to run murray park ? the last i heard murray farmed it out and had to pay a transfer fee for any youth that came throu because he couldnt afford the running costs was in 3.5 million a year ??so murray park wont be producing many players

SFA and Sporting Integrity?

From as long as 4 weeks ago it was fairly obvious, that SPL clubs would vote Rangers out of the SPL, (rightly IMO). SFA seemed to bury their heads in the sand expected a miracle, instead of lobbying the SFL as to their likely intentions, (which was also highly likely to be Div 3). Also correct IMO, from an integrity perspective).
So why then, on the back of the SPL vote then, offer up an incentive of reconstruction, only if Rangers are voted into Div 1, (if it's not for the greater good of the Scottish game). Although this may still happen, if there was ever evidence of bribery in the public domain, this has to be it. Integrity my .... The lunatics are running the asylum and must surely resign.
Also , if we do not get out of Div 3 at the first attempt, look forward to playing Dundee Utd, Dundee, (serial administration), Kilmarnock, St Johnstone....Etal in Div 3 next season. Lets face it, with our fan base liquidation could be an incentive.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

conceivable that the SFA might just spit the dummy right out the pram and not grant us our licence for next season even although the SFL clubs have voted to allow us to play in SFL3? There is nothing coming out of Ibrox about season ticket prices and arrangements for next season which is only 2 weeks away!

So the chairmen of spl clubs are starting to panic now. With comments like we did what our fans wanted us to do, but now they wont buy season tickets, or we have to put players on smaller wages, which means they will walk away from our clubs for nothing, my personal favourite from stewart gilmour of s.t mirren "ordinary people will lose their jobs at every club, which has been affected and it will be through no fault of their own, people lose jobs in everyday life but it's usually due to the downturn in work of their employers rather than a third party factor" ( yes Mr Gilmour thats what us Rangers fans have been trying to tell all you muppets for weeks now, that Rangers staff are victims in this sorry mess too. say Jimmy the odd job man around ibrox and probably a fine upstanding person who has worked his entire life were to lose his job, but all you lot can see is hatred, in your eyes Jimmy could be the son of the devil because he works for Rangers, or wee Betty who cleans the toilets, probablly another fine upstanding citizen, loved by all, but when you lot look at her you see horns coming out of her head because she works for Rangers.Like I said through all this hate fest against Rangers you and your like didn't care who got hurt at Rangers, so long as you all got your pound of flesh and your 15 minutes of fame. Well your 15 minutes are up and you reap what you sow. By the way I notice that a lot of the fans of all your clubs who unanimously told no threatened you to kick big bad Rangers into touch have still to renew or buy season tickets. I also notice Regan has been sent on a wee break, I suppose thats one way of calming the situation, as I'm sure the chairmen of all sfl clubs are ready to lynch him after that e-mail that got leaked, and probably some spl chairmen too after they were promised that Rangers would be in the first division. p.s sending Rangers to the 3rd division was the right thing to do, but the way it has been done with all the scullduggery (spelling) was wrong......on a lighter note. After buying a tin of beans this morning I noticed they are now called Heinz Beanz, apparently they changed their name in 2008, but the Mr Magoo in me didn't notice, do you think they will lose their history ? or will they always be beans ?.

so the Dundee Derby got 10000 fans well done , but spl teams need that support every week not just a Derby Day to survive , if you read the papers today it seems 4or5 teams recone that admin will hit them sooner rather than later due to tv monies, yes Rangers had to be punished ,yes Rangers are a different kettle of fish than the rest of the other teams barr celtic both teams bring a lot of money to the game because of the size of the support they have and the money they generate to other buissnesses ie shops pubs travelling companies etc etc , thats why both will get special treatment than other clubs in scotland you listen to other clubs supporters saying they shouldnt be treated any different than other clubs but they will for the fact that both clubs generate a lot of income to the sport because of the world wide support they have , the spl instead of putting the onus on sfl clubs all they had to do was relegate Rangers to the first Division and give them a couple of sanctions , instead of hopeing that sfl cubs would put them in the 1st Div now its ALL back fired on them and they are all panicking what to do about the tv monies, its out of Rangers hands now we have been told where we are playing so lets just sit back and watch the circus that is the SPL.

Agree4 Disagree3

So I'm supposed to give up my Sky package and stop watching the Premiership, La Liga and as a darts fanatic events like the forthcoming World Matchplay at Blackpool in the hope that it might just help to make Dundee United's finances less stable?

No thanks & anyway why should I punish Sky because my club are going to be in Div 3? I think there's two main reasons for this happening, one is called Murray and the other is called Whyte. So get a grip!

Agree5 Disagree4

@2 Revel in another Club's financial trouble? Is that not what the rest of Scottish Football has been doing all through this Rangers saga? Now they get to realise that their joy at punishing another clubs shortcomings will not hide their own! Watch Scottish Football slowly die as they have signed their own death warrant! It had 2 lifelines Rangers and Celtic and they have chosen to cut one off! Unfortunately one cannot function to its full potential without the other! The sooner narrow minded supporters realise this the better! It's like having Sky HD without an HD tv! Pointless!

Agree5 Disagree5

@4: what punishment? Any other club in Rangers' position would have been treated the same way, if not worse in that they'd have had to enter a contest with other applicants to the league. Where is the punishment you - and other fans of your thinking - claim there has been?

Agree2 Disagree0

Agreed I'm cancelling not giving to hoots for spl no more,an before am accused of al sorts,my reasons are simple,it's basically boring.can watch games I want on ma laptop notably English prem an la liga.bye bye spl.

Agree1 Disagree2

@5 The fans punishment has been to sit and have to listen to supporters of other clubs preach to us about our club as if we are responsible! 10 point deduction, illegal transfer embargo, fine after fine for a club in administratioN (Kinda sums up the idiots at the SFA!) and wanting points deducted for years! Yes these are mainly all punishments that any club would have received! Why then do so many people want Rangers punished further? Are we such a special case that they have to make up punishments to appease the blood hungry hordes that seem to have found a voice through all this? If they removed themselves from their computer and shifted themselves to support their team on matchday then maybe the financial implications of Rangers troubles on their clubs wouldn't be such a problem!

All this talk of old club or new club, oldco or newco, is wide if the mark.

What is a "club"? It is an organisation wholly owned and ran by it's members, like a golf or bowling club. And I suspect many rugby clubs too.

If you think about it sensibly, especially from a legal sort of perspective with a bit of knowledge of the different "clubs" in Scottish football, you'll realise that there are actually very few real clubs in Scottish football at all.... I think Brechin and Stenhousemuir may be, Arbroath was too until it became a limited company a few years ago.

So there is actually not a "club" called Rangers FC. Nor Celtic FC, nor Aberdeen FC, etc etc. The term "club" is a convenient misnomer to encourage strong brand loyalty.

Would like to post this here, as this is where you would probably find the right type of person.

I have a child who is very young and currently attending Yorkhill sick hospital for kids, no holding back now, he has hodgkins lymphoma (cancer).

Now up until recently many players from both sides of the old firm would visit. The benefit was both in donations and appearances for morale and support.

Now we all know what has happened at Rangers and that punishment has and still is taking place.

However the complete niavity of the fact is that some seriously wealthy people are walking away scot free, whilst the average joe is left to squabble over what pieces are left.

Unfortunately I believe the whole scenario has just reinforced the hatred and bigotness that is prevalent in today's Scottish society. People will lose their jobs, and I mean normal working people like you and me. Some of these people will be your kind, in that they support your club. The children in Yorkhill will also suffer and so will other charities that obtain support from either half of the old firm.

At the end of the day, it is a GAME. The rich will get richer, because they know that you and I will squabble about the unnecessary indifferences.

Punishing a large group of people and inturn yourself through lost revenue is just stupidity. Believe me when I say Craig Whyte or David Murray couldn't give a hoot.

And before we go on about lost taxes to HMRC, ask yourself this question? Is it the whole clubs fault, the advisors who advised the club, Mr Murray or the players and fans? And who is the ones who are paying for that now?

Finally if you think that the lost taxes would have built new hospitals and schools then think again as the money would have went directly to Westminster first and maybe, just maybe trickled it way back to Scotland.

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Very sorry about your child you are 100% right in everything you have posted your situation puts things into perspective agree that they havent thought through the implications in that a lot of ordinary decent people will lose their jobs in catering hospitality pubs etc as fewer people will watch a one horse race with poor quality on show

I see from this mornings newspapers the SPL turkeys who voted for Xmas are now starting to panic. Their decisions were based only on the anti rangers feeling among their fans. They didnt think through the massive implications of their decisions. Job losses and clubs going under are just the tip of the iceberg. the spiteful anti rangers fans of other clubs will destroy scottish football. Scottish football is now the laughing stock of World football can u imagine the EPL sending Man Utd to Div 2 in England or La Liga sending Real Madrid to the lowest league in Spain in similar circumstances doubt it! I agree Rangers needed to be punished severely with points deductions/transfer embargos/made to pay all debts etc but sending them to Div 3 is catastrophic for Scottish football. The lunatics have taken over the asylum. The anti rangers agenda from supporters of other clubs is tiresome and spiteful and will come back to haunt them. These people are more obsessed with being anti rangers than supporting and understanding the implications to their own teams. Absolute idiots! The rangers saga to me sums up Scottish football as a whole. Corrupt Spiteful and facing oblivion.

Greens club should have been refused entry. If someone, anyone, had started a new club a la.fc united and the fans has got behind it what would green have ? Even ibrox itself isnt as importante as the fans. Ive said this on here before. Fc united are a fantastic club owned by their fans, being regularly promoted and having a new stadium built in an old united heartland in North manchester also owned by the fans. This is a long term visiĂłn all fans should be watching, to get rid of these rich parasites ruining the game. If green had gone in the spl it would have.been truly appalling. Forget the SPL 2 thing it aint going to happen. There will be a suspension for a year coming. SPL plans have backfired and they are now working out how they get the Gers back into the SPL in one year. One year ban and back in next year with sanctions. That's whats coming fellow Gers. The reality of admin for 5 SPL teams has kicked in and this will happen. SPL 2 would be too difficult to get buy into in 2weeks. This could be agreed in 5mins and will be the proposal coming from SPL. What do you say fellow Gers? I say no thanks we're in the 3rd.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

SPL clubs took great pleasure in telling the world they would vote no to newco in SPL all the while doing a back handed deal with sfa about getting us in to the sfl div 1. Then spit the dummy when sfl clubs vote no and are now wanting us back because of the probable loss of sky cash. Now the sfa wasn't to punish us further, which would make matters worse. Can anyone answer these two questions.
1) what about sporting integrity now.
2)does anyone know what the hell is going on?

Agree2 Disagree2

I agree there is a chance that we are suspended for a year though it's odds against.

As for 5 SPL clubs going into admin within within weeks can anybody explain to me why exactly this is likely, if they do - and I reckon at most one will throughout the season and probably none - it won't all be down to Rangers being in Div 3, it will be down to poor stewardship of their club.

PS. Sky aren't just going to just walk away, believe me on this one.

Barney Bear

Agree2 Disagree2

@2. barney i agree sky wont walk away but they will knock about twenty million off the current deal...mark.

Agree0 Disagree1

The bottom line is it has become obvious the only reason we did not get voted back into the SPL is because of the hatred shown to rangers by fans of other teams. Now if they want us back it should be on our terms.Suspension for a year and then sanctions and penalties just would not work as you would not keep a team of players for a year and even if we did they would need paying how would we afford that with no revenue. Then if there were sanctions you could not buy players so you would have no team.Like i said if they need us back ASAP then we have them by the balls.Like i have said before the other teams better look out they enjoyed kicking us when we were down but now we are getting back up.

Agree2 Disagree1

Barney bear I suggest you read doncaster's statement on the BBC premier league website regarding Sky deal. In the article he is quoted as saying value to Sky will be 3 mill instead of 20.7 mill without Rangers in SPl. the article also gives the general Manager of Motherwell's breakdown on how most clubs may be able to cover basic running costs but without sky money they will be unable to service their debt levels. This will leave a negative balance with banks chasing for unpaid debt. Hope this answers your question regarding the other clubs. situations

Do not blame any of the SPl Clubs directly for not voting rangers direct entry to the SPl, but their chairmen did make a decision based on an assumption that unfortunately will spell the end for Scottish Football.

Already some chairmen are now realising the consequences of that decision even Celtics own Manager has stated he is unsure if he will be getting any more players in with less revenue. The standards of the SPl will fall even further and the loss of the sky deal is only the start, with many other sponsors already deciding if they will pull out or re negotiate sponsorship. Only the dumbest of supporters who would not even pass a school arithmetic test and with no knowledge of economics would think otherwise. There may not even be an SPL when five or six clubs go to the wall and teams in the 1st Div do not have the finances to survive in the SPL. I feel sorry for those clubs and the workers in particular. This has come about through the idiotic vote of the SPL chairmen and in no way can the blame for the death of the SPL be blamed on Rangers F.C.

this isn't rumours just a post on what's going on with rfc of late. unfortunately we are no longer rfc as we where so we have to deal with that and move on. the spl have voted us out but were hoping the sfl would agree to division 1 but the chairmen their stood up and said no to Messrs Regan and Doncaster who are now panicking and in a big way as losing rangers will hit the spl and the teams hard financially. what rangers need to do now is to go into Division 3 rebuild and start using murray park for what it was meant for to bring youngsters through so as we can stop the influx of second rate signings. We have to hope we can get back to the spl over the next 3 seasons. it's time to get behind Green, who has put his or someone's money on the table when no one else did. I can still see the spl trying to change the decision of Division 3 but we should be dead against this and tell them that sporting integrity put us there and that is where we will start from. in my eyes ally mccoist has shown that he truly does have rangers at heart as he has came through this sorry period with class and decency. As we are a newco there should be no further penalties, fines, embargoes etc so they should leave us alone to let us get back to playing football. finally i do hope that the relevant authorities have Messrs murray and whyte in there sights as someone has to pay for the wrecking of a great and proud footballing institution.

"sporting integrity" are the words of the year. I still do not really understand why not paying Paye and NI have to do with "sporting integrity".

Let's have a look at the other players in this fiasco.
SPL chairmen are now hammering the SFL for not allowing newco into div one. SPL chairmen wanted our money, and thought that SFL would do as they were told.
But they didn't. So now the panic is on as they realise that it will be four years before they earn from us.
Not much "sporting integrity" here I feel.

SFA have already decided according to Regan that Dundee will be promoted, there are emails to prove that. The decision is to be made on Monday. Not much "sporting integrity" here I feel.
They then try to threaten SFL clubs to accept the newco into div one. Hardly much "sporting integrity" here I feel.

SPL chairmen that have charged Old Firm fans £8-£10 pounds more for tickets than they do other clubs. Not much "sporting integrity" here then I suggest.

They pass a transfer embargo that is not in their rule books, which the judge described as unlawful, and yet they are talking more sanctions. Not much "sporting integrity" here then I feel.

These people do not have one ounce of integrity between them. Suggest they put their own house in order before accusing anybody of lack of integrity.

Everything about it has been a fiasco but lets not forget why it happened in the first place

Agree3 Disagree1

By not paying Tax and NI on wages, plus the avoiding of VAT payments, rangers effectively stayed in business as a football club longer than they should have.Add the fact that you also owed millions to clubs for transfers and that is your "sporting integrity" question answered,i feel.

Agree3 Disagree4

Not really #2, thanks for the answer but it doesn't really ring true. All the things you pointed out happened last season, a season where we won nothing and lost a great deal. not talking about fines and points deductions but our place in the SPL, for many of us the belief in the dignity of our club and a place in a top European competition and the extra revenue that it promises. The whole sporting integrity bit relates to people saying we cheated. We didn't, we went into administration as other had before us. Where exactly was the intent to cheat anyone?

Wheres Dundee utds Sporting integrity now. Fri SL proposals rushed through promising League Reconstruction in the best interests of Scottish Footballs future (nothing to do with the small matter of us possibly losing the Rangers cash cow to the lower divisions) No mention on friday from those upstanding members from DundeeUtd that this proposal would not be supported by their moral majority until after the SFL sensibly ignore the offers of a bribe . Now come Sunday Fridays bribes would never have been supported by Upstanding Dundee Utd . What an honest upfront club laugh out loud. What a sleekit dishonest bunch of two faced charlatan if the SFL had fell for the proposed bribe what would Dundee Utd stance be now......

Reading through a few of the posts below and a few questions spring up....
1. What will the newco be called?
2. Do we think they will be able to play at ibrox every week with the obvious overheads?
3. Will the ownership of ibrox be an issue?
4. Can a squad be put together in time for start of league?
5. Why the belief that rangers were voted out of spl?
6. Why do people continually speak about further sanctions being applied to the newco?
7. Honestly what crowds can be expected for div 3 games? - easy to talk about 50k crowds but is 10-15k more likely
8. Would fans happily pay spl prices for next 3/4 years to allow newco to build up a decent igniting fund?

Honest discussion please.

1) the rangers fc
2) personally I don't think so too many over heads
3) rangers was ran by rangers men and look where it got them? Business is business these guys in charge will try and run it to a profit of some kind then leave either that or sell the assests and leave.
4) that's purely down to youth need to put them in a sink or swim situation rangers should cruise division 3
5) like anyone people thought they were too big to go down I'm glad there in div 3 as if it was div 1 then if anyone else goes bust then they will want div 1& properly won't so they would go to division 3. Really it sets the rules out if you go bust then you start from the bottom.
6) nah not for the newco its a clean sheet old rangers yes if the ebt is guilty then that's fair enough.
7) well this is where you find out if you are the people I think for the 1st few games it will be busy but it really depends on how much tickets cost
8) if the fans done that then green will rub his hands he's not been open enough to the fans to charge funny money if Walter Smith or someone was in charge then they could brass neck it a little. Division 3 dearest season ticket is £200 if they make it cheap enough then I think you will pull in a crowd because this is his last real chance at making money as he's not got the players too sell to make up money.

Honest answers from a celtic fan. Rangers starting from the bottom could give you a taste for youth you might find a few gems in the lower league's and sell them on might make a bit of money from them.

Q6) Because there is still a lot of jealousy and bile being exhibited towards them and it annoys people who try as they might cannot destroy us. (Tall Poppy Syndrome)
Q7) Home games 25,000 to 30,000 away games full houses.
Q8) I feel they would in order to prepare for our return to the SPL and to provide Ally with enough to bring in 2 or 3 quality players, enough to take the title on our return

Kilmarnock, Hamilton Accies and Queen of the South

Agree0 Disagree0

It is not a case of what teams have supported you. All the clubs in Scotland have supported you by voting you into the SFL .
We don't need you but we would rather have you in our league system because of your fanbase . Our teams will carry on with or without you . We might end up like the Danish or Swedish league but we will still survive. Denmark and Sweden both qualified for Euro 2012 so they can't be that bad.
I hope your club survives and helps the Scottish game to move forward.

Its not the other clubs fault. Fan power has forced their hand. We need to get over this "whos fault" and just support our own team. By the look of the papers today at least 6 groups of fans are probably having second thoughts and will "shock horror" have to dig deep to help their clubs. CheltBlue.

Just seen this on DAFC.net, lets hope this isn't true, we have been let down enough!

From CQN:

'I will be doing a blog on ex Rangers players and their Tax Secrets for next week on 9/7/2012.

But first how the money is being siphoned out of Ibrox back to Ticketus

The motivation to invest £5.5 million into a club which you have no conceivable interest in has baffled people all over Scotland ever since Charles Green intimated that he wanted to take control of Rangers football club.

Some think £5.5 million seems to be a bargain now that the club has been liquidated but at the time when Charles Green came onto the scene it was potentially a £140 million money pit. Green was still intent on purchasing the club through a CVA but with a paltry offer of £8.7 million for creditors, some would say a deliberate low offer to induce the Liquidation of the club thus ridding Charles Green of the HMRC bill.

So Charles Green bought the assets of Rangers football club for £5.5 million and started a new company called Sevco 5088 which will operate from the premises which used to house Rangers football club.

So the question is still, what is Charles Greens motivation?

First of all Octopus Investments are the parent company of Ticketus. Ticketus are the company who were left £26 million out of pocket when Craig Whyte put Rangers into Administration. Ticketus were Rangers second biggest creditors (first being HMRC) when Rangers went into Administration.

Octopus are investors in the company Zeus Capital who are running Sevco 5088 with Charles Green.

Let me bring to your attention Imran Ahmed and Brian Stockbridge.

Imran Ahmed founded and was Chief Executive of a company Allenby Capital Limited. Brian Stockbridge worked as a nominated adviser at Allenby Capital.

Allenby Capital were brokers and advisers for Octopus on numerous occasions in different business transactions.

On January 2012 Brian Stockbridge joined Zeus Capital and in April 2012 Imran Ahmed also joined Zeus Capital. On the 14th of June Charles Green bought the assets of Rangers and installs these two guys to help run Sevco 5088.

How does Charles Green fit into the Octopus/Zeus cog?

Charles Green is the only man in the whole equation that has any back ground in football or sports when it comes to business in all of this.

Zeus Capital worked with Charles Green when he was at Sheffield United.
Zeus worked with Charles Green when he disposed of Sports Management company, Gresham PE. Now Formation Group.

Remembering that Octopus are financial backers of Zeus Capital and Zeus are nominated advisers and brokers for Octopus there is only one man for the job. Charles Green. And the job is? Getting the Ticketus money back.

It was very recently announced that Sevco 5088 will be using Metro Bank as their banking facility as RBS refused an arrangement with Sevco 5088 and Fast Pay a direct debit company. I believe this to be bullshampoo.

Octopus will get their money back……………

Through a company called Caerus Wealth.

Their Group Investment Director is Ronan Kearney who is also the Venture Fund manager at Octopus Investments.

Their Chairman and CEO is Keith Carby who is the founder and Non Executive Director of Metro Bank.
(return of the friendly bank manager)

Octopus get their money without the Sevco 5088 (t)rangers fans even knowing it. Once the money is recouped, Green, Ahmed and Stockbridge sell the assets and that’s their bonus.

Or if an offer comes in that covers all cost and monies its a quick sale and thanks for the £memories£.

A foot note to all of this.

If any Chairman of any football team reads this. Sevco 5088 will not be investing in Scottish football in any way shape or form. So if they aren’t investing in the product, the quality will go down, the footfall of supporters will go down and your club will go down.

Its far better to allow a small club to grow than it is to have a big club rot and take you down with it.

Believable12 Unbelievable0

This has been the plan all along. It is a tried and tested way in all liquidations. Duff and Phelps have been involved from valentines day. Everyone will make some cash . Rangers are the by product . The club will come back but it is being used and it will take a long time.

Agree10 Disagree1

The third div rooked all their plans. Fans also no longer have the stomached to chip in for Ticketus.

Agree2 Disagree0

The master plan is of course (which Green has said) to organise a share issue, where fans will buy shares and the proceeds to the Investors. Not to Invest in the football club.

Agree1 Disagree0

Am I being thick or something? Octopus/Ticketus to get their £26M back - how? who from? Selling the assets as a bonus? - what else is there to cash in?

Agree1 Disagree0

That is a chilling post....too much in there to be untrue.
we need to wake up.

Agree2 Disagree0

If you look hard enough into businesses you will find links to different companies everywhere and individuals. you even change the wording in your own statement from octopus being investers to being financial backers in zeus. so then all knowing one how much of zeus do they own and why try to get banking facilities at rbs if the plan was metro all along?...mark.

Follow Follow i will follow nobody until we have full disclosure.
Follow Green if you want bears. In the long run he will take all the profits and run.
He might be the only man sitting at the top of the table but Bomber is right we can starve him out.
Bomber might not be the most illiterate but he wares his heart on his sleeve.
When the old firm games were being played Bomber was the first in the dressing room heading the ball against the wall over and over motivating the rest of the team.
Remember bears he is a true legend!

Believable7 Unbelievable6

No he's not. He's in the same mould as other good Rangers players. Derek Parlane was a good Rangers player, scored important goals as did Colin Stein yet bomber is the man. NO. Lets look forward to a new legend in our new club.

Agree6 Disagree2

Ok, Bomber was 100% Rangers but he had only a fraction of the talent of the likes of Laudrup or Gazza; he also, unlike say Ally, has zero media skills - which like it or not is very important for any potential figurehead looking for investment, in fact he comes across as an ageing ned with a drink problem. He won't be receiving a penny of my hard earned cash and would be a disaster for the club I've supported since 1969.

In fact, I could see we would go straight back into administration if he 'starves Green out' and we could easily be unable to complete our fixture list!

Its a bit late in the day for SPL chairman who are rightly worried for the financial stability of their clubs coming out with their statements of doom. Their fans asked for sporting integrity and that has been delivered. They passed the buck hoping that the SFL would roll over and put our team into D1 pandering to The SPL financial model allowing them to keep face with their fans. As a of bear of 45 years I personally hope the SPL clubs survive without going into administration. Scottish football is at a low enough ebb already and I know this as i coach teens and it's very difficult to get them interested in our national game. We put our faith in a few people who screwed us over and brought our club to its knees. Our club will survive although the next few years will be painful. Lets not in our anger towards those who have done us wrong wish for a race to the bottom.
