Strongly feel docherty is a Rangers player to look forward to, if the manager let's him disappear then it will be dreadful, I would have him playing for us for rest of season, too many sand dancers in our team, I loved Kent and Aribo when the sun was out, too cold and wet for them now, simple as that.

Too much 1 + 1 = 4 on here. Just because Kilmarnock beat us doesn't make then title challengers just the same way Docherty having a good game for Hibs makes him 1st choice midfielder for us. let's just remind ourselves Docherty has played pretty much zero mins for us and has shone at Shewbury and Accies NOT Rangers. Murty dropped him. Where is the evidence he has the quality to run a Rangers midfield, it doesn't exist. We are letting romance getting in the way of facts. Just like some on here claim the manager has favorites the same has to be said about some of the support. Aribo is our weakness.

Mike G / Stevie G, I just feel Gerrard is a bit stubborn at times and maybe a bit loyal to some players. By that I mean, not giving Docherty/ Murphy a chance, who incidentally are doing fantastic at their loan clubs, and, continuously playing Tav, Goldson, whether there playing good or bad. I'm in no means a football manager but Gerrard is making continuous mistakes, ie, making substitutions very late on in the game, and not knowing or understanding when to change the format. PS, I am a Gerrard fan and really want him to succeed.

It is ridiculous. Shake up is different form bring in fringe players. We had a good recipe for the 1st half of the season nothing has changed apart from no European football. I stand by my previous post because we are not playing in Europe our level has dropped. Euro football raise our game and we continue into the SPL weekends with that confidence. Huge game today, I'm in the camp that says the league is gone, however today will hopefully show which players, if any are up for the fight of their lives next season to prevent 10 for them. I'm actually surprised at the amount of fans who, to me don't seem bothered if they get 10 in order to stick with what's happening now.

Deecee, think you will find that Eddie Howe wasn’t given time. He was an instant success on management. Avoided relegation when they started minus 17 points and then got something like 3 promotions in 3 or 4 seasons!

Here's a hypothetical question to all my fellow bears out there. We were discussing at work yesterday, all bears together everything rangers regarding steven gerrard and whether he'll make it as our manager, the players etc. Then this question came up. It was, do any of us think that walter smith with his managerial ability going back to the job he did in his 2nd spell as rangers manager, been able to stop this current celtic team and win the league?
What's all bears out there, answer to that?

Positive that Walter would have halted this celtic team, we have taken our foot of their throat and aloud them the chance to go clear.
That wouldn't have happened, although I don't buy into that the league is over yes celtic are massive favourites now they will have a blip and drop couple points here and there. We must turn it around to ensure we can take advantage and get back in the race.

I've been reading the forums with interest. Its clear we can't sack SG. We don't have the money to pay him off. However. If today he doesn't make wholesale changes and by that I mean gives some guys a chance like your Jones, Stewart and maybe some young guns the fans will turn big time. Or even if we get beat today he won't be able to stand the heat up here. I find it strange on a forum that everyone can see that we can't break teams down. If Livi come today and sit in we will struggle. We must attack teams, more so at home. We have also got to go 2 up top. At the first whistle let's go for it. It seems that SG can only get one good half from the team at times. Why? I really don't know. I know he won't but I'd get Goldson and Tav out that team. Give the captaincy to RJ. Make a big decision. Tav, s not a leader and again I don't want to single him out. It's not his fault he's been given the captaincy. LB worries me. We should have bought or loaned in a back up last month. Halliday can't play there. Morelos can't play alone up front the now. His confidence is gone and we need to get it back big time.

When Tav was out the team we were ineffectual down the right and lost about 50% service from crosses.

Give the captaincy to Jacko? Again am I one of few that criticises his inconsistency, he and Kamara have not been at their best either and don’t deserve at present to be in the team let alone captain it. And when he has worn the armband, how well do you see him driving his team on, for me - he doesn’t really.

I’ll keep optimistic and leave the strategy to our management team.

Don’t disagree with the suggestion as1974 Of relieving pressure, freshening up etc. I personally think the team is better with tav in it, I also am of the opinion that McGregor or Jack shouldn’t be captain, personally if fit and playing week in week out (maybe a few years younger) I’d have Davis captain the team.

Arfield could be a shout as I DO see him being vocal, looks like a motivator as he encourages (again I’m basing this on lip reading and gestures) .

Concern about wholesale changes is that it goes horribly wrong, the pressure for the entire team is knowing we have to win every match, time for the entire team to stand up and be counted and at least put up a fight for it.

Morelos can't play up front alone? Maybe it's the service from the rest of the team considering everyone has been rank rotten!

@Andy. I think that Tav is our best option at Rb but I think before he became the captain he was a better player hence why I suggested taking the captaincy off him to perhaps relieve some pressure.

Because overall Jack has been fantastic for the club. Tav hasnt.
I don't care if he's a blue nose or not and he's just back from injury.

Morelos has scored 1 goal in 6 games I think it is. he's had chances so it's not always down to service. We rely far too much on him. He needs more support.

Why not give people a chance? I keep saying this if people aren't playing for the Jersey or the team then drop them and give someone else a chance to show they are!

You like facts. We've won 77% of our games in the league. The defence has let in 16 goals so far this season.
Have the games since Xmas break been disappointing, yes.
Not winning the league this season ( which does look unlikely) doesn't mean we can't/ won't win the league next season and stop 10 in a row.

I wanted to replace Tav? I said he's the best Rb but should be stripped of the captaincy.

I agree Kyle, to change now would be a disaster for the Club, but I won't refer to 10 IAR, as I think this is where we are getting drawn into an overhyped situation. I don't want us getting into a financial meltdown again over what is detracting from us trying to get back to winning ways. Our league is already a laughing stock because of the 2 horse race every season, so let's just get back to concentrating on ourselves and ignore Celtic, it's not them that are stopping us, it's our performances against the other teams in this league.

The points total we are on now is not far away from past title winning numbers. Celtic have been relentless against other teams, they have improved their own points tally this season in line with our improvement. We have made progress but unfortunately they have matched it. If we never had Gerrard we would be fighting with Aberdeen etc like the years before for second. Yes he still has things to learn as a manager and he makes mistakes but his good currently out ways his bad.

Coully, i agree mate, i also stated about us being 10 points better off, but so are celtic, we couldn't have expected them to sit waiting, known we had strengthened, but i won't concede that the leagues done, but like you say pal, we would have been struggling for second place, without gerrard, imo.
