Believable4 Unbelievable2

Think he would fit in perfectly but I don't think we'll spend much more cash while we're in the championship tbh but I do think we will have money to spend when we get back to spl and Stewart is one I would love to see in a Rangers Jersey along with wighton and also Craig sibbald from Falkirk

I actually feel sorry for the predicament that Scott Allan found himself in.
It was obvious that he would not be transferred to us, no matter what. So does he sit tight until January and risk all sort of hiccups e.g. injury, we go tits up or simply we change our mind. His decision was to sign for the manky mob, not something I could have done, but good luck to the boy.
Over the years many bluenoses have signed for them with different levels of success. Right or wrong -- who knows?
Players I played with in the sixties signed for them, because of the youth policy at Ibrox and who would blame them?
Just have a look at their European cup winning team, at least three were out and out bluenoses. Over the years, here are another few from the top of my head -- Danny McGrain, Kenny Dalglish, Tom McAdam, Murdo MacLeod and Simon Donnelly, so who we are to criticise his decision.

15 Aug 2015 18:12:26
The difference is being a Rangers fan and having the chance to play for your dream club in six months would be something we all would jump at. Allan had this and chose not to wait it out. Fair enough going to Celtic if there was never an offer or track to Rangers but. hey spineless in my opinion. Anyway money talks for some people even though I think he would have got the same 10K per week at Rangers.

Do we think Ball & Oduwa will start tomorrow? I'm under the impression Oduwa will play off the left so if the boy hits the ground Running it could be all over at Rangers for David Templeton.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Think oduwa will star don't think Templeton been that great

Agree6 Disagree2

15 Aug 2015 19:44:50
Think oduwa will either start or come off the bench for law tomorrow and think he'll get a wee debut goal along with a wag horn double, 3-1 or 3-0 gers

Why do so many bears think a manager like Stubbs has the power to dictate who Hibs sell to?

According to a good source even when SA wanted to come to Ibrox he had no problem with Stubbs but was, I hear less than happy with Leanne Dempster, who the Scottish press are afraid to slag off in case they are accused of sexism.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

The boy john swift is touted as the next frank lampard amazing last year in the U21 league so if he signs this would be amazing

New to this site but would like to say i'm happy with all the signing so for considering were in the Championship. But if Rangers were in the spl and champions league qualifiers and we were signing players from Dundee utd and hibs like celtic are, I would be gutted. It will make it easier for Rangers to close the gap on Celtic. The Future is looking good for Rangers and its been a pleasure watching the team play so far. come on the gers.

Believable11 Unbelievable10

15 Aug 2015 13:41:05
Are you really that blind? We are 1 million miles behind Celtic. Are you saying you are happy signing players that no other club wanted? A manager no other team wanted? A board who are unable to raise funds to pay for players or see out the season? Some future indeed

15 Aug 2015 21:31:54
ABHABH how have we signed players that nobody else wanted? There is a difference to a players contract 'expiring' and the player being 'released'. Just because we got some guys for no transfer fee does not mean they were unwanted players.

Agree2 Disagree1

15 Aug 2015 22:57:31
Abhabh

Are you in some kind of a hurray - current regime only in since early March!

Give them a chance - they haven't fail us yet - wait until the end of the transfer at least if not Christmas or end of season!

A know people are disapointed in not gttin scott allan but its no big loss we didn't need him in the 1sylt place. Decent holdin midfielder n a striker is what we r needin. Ad b delighted if we gt stevie may. Would make himself a legend at rangers

15 Aug 2015 10:47:25
Anyone else rather have a new striker in Stevie May, than the Hibernian lad who went to Celtic?

Obviously would have loved to see both join. But seeing the performance against St Mirren at Ibrox. Looked as if we were creating enough chances, but just had no one to really finish them.

I know The Bears still won 3-1, but the first half performance showed they could have finished them off very early with about three or four.

Seen a couple of audacious goals from the big lad fae spurs on YouTube, could be a sensation! I hope the bears take a leaf out of MW book and let SA get on with it. SA has Made his bench and he can sit on it. Don't fancy Stevie May would prefer another young hungry lad from down south who is desperate to pull on the blue jersey.

4 YEAR DEAL?
THIS WAS JUST TO SHOW US UP.
DK said " whatever is takes"
It doesn't take a four year deal for this status of player to get us where we are going.
Keep the cash until its needed.

I remember the other day bigwull posted that rangers had told Allen the sort of signing on fee and wages he would receive in a pre contract and people where on here slating bigwull and rangers about tapping him up. Well it was in the media yesterday that celtic had contacted Allen through a 3rd party to make sure he would sign if they bid for him surely it's the same thing.

It happens every day mate.
Two agents have a"hypothetical"chat about a player and it goes from there.

Right lads. Today is a new day. Scott Allan is gone. For all the talk about how much he loves rangers blah blah blah, he's basically a modern day mo Johnston. MW n DW are rebuilding us n we have turned over our two supposedly biggest rivals. Hibs are now weaker and we are getting stronger. Maybe another two signings one of them a keeper as I'm still not convinced with wes yet and a holding midfielder like eustace. We don't need another striker in my eyes as we are gona get enough goals through out the team this season. WATP

Ex-Newcastle goalkeeper Steve harper without a club. He'd do as cover.

Agree2 Disagree3

15 Aug 2015 08:51:46
Agree with you on the keeper, with all the great keepers we have had why don't we get one of them as a goal keeping coach, big Stewart isn't exactly up to the modern game.

Agree0 Disagree4

15 Aug 2015 09:05:35
Your wrong we do need another striker. Miller is getting on and can be injury prone, Waghorn isn't a prolific scorer, Clarke just isn't a scorer and Hardie has still a bit to go. We should have put at least 10 by Peterhead and 5 or 6 past St Mirren.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 09:13:20
Carlton Cole's still without a club. I know people are going to say wages too much, but what we'd offer is better than nothing and playing for rangers is way better than not playing at all. Also if he plays well, scores a few there is always the possibility of cashing in during the next transfer window. Thoughts please

Agree3 Disagree1

15 Aug 2015 09:57:18
Ok biffo. I hear what your saying. So who do we get? Stevie May? He is hardly prolific. Looking at waghorn albeit it's early days, he will score goals for us but he will also create goals for us. As for Miller he will do a turn the last 20-30 minutes in games and will chip in plenty of goals. Guys like Halliday will add their fair share as well. Personally I think we r ok up top. Holding midfielder keeper n maybe another defender and we will have a great squad

Agree0 Disagree2

15 Aug 2015 10:21:26
Re your statement it's just a modern day Mo Johnston . Mo Johnston played for Celtic for 3 years . Scott Allan has never played for Rangers . Mo Johnston was paraded with the then manager Billy McNeil wearing a Celtic strip . Scott Allan was never paraded with Mark Warburton in Rangers strip . Although he may be a Gers fan I've never seen him quoted anywhere about his undying love for Rangers it's just another engineered "scandal" by our shabby SMSM to stir it up between both sets of fans and the sad thing is it seems to be working

Agree1 Disagree3

15 Aug 2015 10:57:17
Not a chance we will sign another keeper, apart from 4-5 poor kicks in a couple games he has been ok. He has obviously been told to keep passing it out. There will b 2 signings, Eustace 1yr deal and May on loan with option to buy

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 12:15:47
If we keep playing the way we are its only a matter if time before we put 6 or 7 past somebody

Agree0 Disagree2

15 Aug 2015 12:27:41
Think need to give Wes time, altho I can't remember him actually making a save ha, But then again we ain't been tested yet apart from the 1st half of hibs game, As for a ST I agree we need a clinical finisher but they dont't come cheap! Hoping Waghorn can start putting ball in the net more often because his all round game is a good standard

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 14:24:22
Right ok. Maybe not the full mo Johnston story but I do recall mo saying he only ever wanted to play for Celtic n I'm sure Scott said he only wants to go to rangers. He had a chance to wait it out n come to us n possibly write himself into our history books but he hasn't he has chose to go to Celtic but I can't possibly see where he will play because their midfield is solid but hey what's done isn done n we will move on. This is the most confident n can't remember the last time I looked forward to our games. Let's start getting behind the manager n board. Not DK fault SA never signed.

15 Aug 2015 06:11:05
OK go easy on me first time but I had to get this out.So so the boy who claimed he was a blue nose shows his true colours that's up to him we have long memories and he won't be forgiven but Dk and company have embarrassed us, all his crap about spending money to get us back to where we belong So MR KING why don't you show us how deep your pockets are and wipe the smiles of the BBC, sky, the **** and the record because they are all sniggering now. Sorry brothers had to have my rant

Believable4 Unbelievable9

15 Aug 2015 07:58:47
DK hasn't embarrassed us .have we not learned our lesson from previous years of paying over the odds and massive wages. Plus stubbs wasnt for selling to us .The players warbs has brought in for less money are excellent prospects. Blame it on mccoist anyway we could have had him for zero last year but he gave kyle hutton another year instead

Agree6 Disagree2

15 Aug 2015 08:08:04
Why go down the road of the blame game? It's certainly not at the hands of King. The only one sniggering is probably Stubbs but that said, the madness of this whole episode lies in the hands of Allan himself. Who puts in a written transfer request for a move to Rangers and signs for Celtic two weeks later?

Agree8 Disagree2

15 Aug 2015 08:42:49
Scott Allan started at dundee Hibernian went to Edinburgh Hibernian .now he's at Celtic sounds like a right blue nose.lets move on his loss

15 Aug 2015 08:44:55
Hibs would not have sold to us no matter what we offered when are people going to get a grasp on this? If he was such a diehard rangers fan he would of waited and signed a pre contract but good luck to him he will need it.

Agree3 Disagree2

15 Aug 2015 08:58:39
It's interesting that the first time your team got into a bidding war they lost. DCK and Potless Paul won't spend money, at least not their own money. Did you really think any team would accept the offer that was made - with some of the transfer fee only becoming payable when Scott Allan played In the GROUP STAGES of the Champions League?
Seems like you'll be signing free transfers, players no one else wants and loanees.
Over investment? Yeh right.

Agree4 Disagree1

15 Aug 2015 09:59:51
What bidding war. We could have offered treble what the toms offered n hubs still wouldn't have sold to us. Very similar to when we tried to sign goodwillie from Dundee Utd. They simply didn't want to sell to us. Stubbs can smirk all he wants. He'll be out of a job come Xmas

Agree1 Disagree1

15 Aug 2015 11:04:30
DK said millipns would be invested and he would spend what it took to get out of Champ. I think he has spent enough to win the league and millions will be spent over the next couple seasons but the majority of it won't be in the playing squad. He is still assessing the mess that was left with so much to do in maintenance and restaffing etc. Keep calm, stay patient and one step at a time!

Agree1 Disagree1

15 Aug 2015 11:46:22
johnjag, what bidding war, we made a higher offer than them, Stubbs just wouldn't sell to us. What makes you think the boy will play in the Group Stages with them either. 15 Aug 2015 07:31:04
We all know you are upset - but it is not King's fault that he has moved to the dark side!

Further this is a win win for us.

1) Hibs weaken

2) our primary objective this season is promotion ( more fish and bigger & better for next season )

3) we are "BACK" - thanks to King - biggest compliment -Celtic regard us as a threat under W&W and are more interested in defending their position in Glasgow (trying to "weaken" us) rather than making an impact in Europe!

Agree7 Disagree5

15 Aug 2015 07:33:44
That was a bad comment DK made but we cannot be held to ransom and pay over the odds for players, the business we have done this summer is incredible and we are on the up,

My problem is with Stubbs, he is well within his right to refuse to sell to us as we are in the same division, but I think he proved this was for more than hibs benefit with his refusal to say 'Rangers'. I think It was 'that mob' he called us,

This is an absolute disgrace, he is a professional manager and in this day and age he should conduct himself in a more professional manner

Agree3 Disagree4

15 Aug 2015 08:21:22
I would love to know what money King has pit in? I hope he's covering our general running costs which were shocking for a Championship club. He's not putting transfer money in and our wage bill is currently lower than last season, not moaning but he made clear promises of investment which as of today I honestly can't see.

Agree3 Disagree2

15 Aug 2015 09:02:42
I am still stunned at the blind faith being shown towards Dave King. He has not delivered in a single promise. Where is the transparency? Where is the investment? Remember, he has not invested a single penny in to the club. We have brought in free transfers from the lower leagues and an inexperienced management team also for free. We have no prospect of investment to see us through this season. Hibs have done a shrewd bit of business by selling an unsettled player (by the way did Scott Allan ever actually state that he only wanted to sign for us?) and bringing in an exciting prospect who is already a proven goal scorer at a higher level than the scots championship. As for Celtic, there is no way that they are afraid of us. They conducted their business in a professional manner, DK and our board could learn from them, until then we will remain a laughing stock.

Right lads that's Scott Allan signed a FOUR YEAR DEAL! I'm not going to lie I'm disappointed, but let's forget about this and move on. You can't hate the lad for wanting to play bigger games and earning more cash, but what we do know he was never capable of becoming a Rangers hero like he made out to be a bluenose, utter rubbish. Like Warburton recently said, "we don't want players that don't want to to play for Rangers" simple theory but defines the hungry to not so less, which will bring success to our club this year. The biggest positive that's come from this is that Hibs are without Allan! So we can all be happy about that. ( Gardner I told you we would get the last laugh ). ;) We will get our own back on Hibs when they come to I fox next week. I think we should have total trust in Warburton and see when we return to top flight, wait and see who we attract to play for the best club in the world! Good times.
