Celtic had only 2 shots at goal in the Hamilton game today, and seemed to struggle.

Rangers had double figures shots at goal in the Livingston game with more than double shots off target than Celtic had and Rangers played the harder team.

fact.

14 Sep 2019 21:09:28
Graham šŸ‘.

14 Sep 2019 21:22:23
you sound like SG you can have a million shots at goal FACT is what hits the back of the net counts and wins trophys so your post is mince mate.

14 Sep 2019 21:24:22
So do Celtic get less points then, what age are you mate? Home against the highflying Livingstone is tougher than plastic pitch Hamilton seriously.

14 Sep 2019 21:53:19
I donā€™t know if Iā€™ve just had too much to drink but, what are you actually taking about? Remember weā€™re all hopefully adults. saying ā€˜Factā€™ at the end of your statements doesnā€™t make it true!

14 Sep 2019 23:03:33
Spot on Memyself, high flying Livingston is a tougher game than Hamilton. Livi unbeaten till today. Thanks Memyself for pointing out how good a result we had today.

15 Sep 2019 08:21:57
god how the mighty have fallen right enough, 2 weeks ago Celtic were going to be destroyed, this week itā€™s beating the mighty Livingston at home 3-1 šŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆ.

15 Sep 2019 09:46:18
Livingston had plenty of chances as well and were unlucky with the disallowed goal. Their big striker bullied our 2 centre halves just as Eduard did a few weeks ago. Time to drop Goldson who has been poor recently itā€™s concerning that in 5 league games we have conceded in 4 of them.

15 Sep 2019 09:50:32
Spot on big Blue it's only what hits the back of the net that counts. Something we have not been brilliant at so far espcially against teams that park the bus.

15 Sep 2019 10:33:34
The mighty have fallen?

Explain yourself plz, how did celtic get on against Hamilton exactly? How many shots? Aye your right how the mighty has fallen into a sense of all is well, u get a result against us and your world beaters again?

Always the same with celtic supporters, 1 good win and it papers over the cracks again and they all come on here pretending to show no fear.

We have a squad that can handle all the games we need to play, can you honestly say the same? All it takes is for 2 or 3 players to get a knock and its panic stations for u lot.

Uefa games start this week an that's when your club starts to struggle and pick up injury after injury then we shall see how u get on

How the mighty have fallen, u must a been having 1 too many last night.

15 Sep 2019 12:42:53
I donā€™t get all this doom and gloom, win ugly does me.
Last season
Killie first game in league we lost
Hibs we drew
Livi we lost Celtic we lost
This year first game beat killie, hibs, livi. Eight points better
We need to be tough and back our team
Media, we were rubbish, Celtic played like true champions and scraped 1-0 what is the difference
Some the crap on here from fans re Sg is incredible, yes tactics wrong against them, but slag him for giving Kent a game, how do u get match fit on the bench.

15 Sep 2019 17:49:54
Alexander chill out mate, Iā€™ve never banged on about anything I was just commenting how ridiculous the original comment was obviously touching a wee nerve with you there.

15 Sep 2019 20:04:29
alexander.

cluj aside can you show us were the cracks are?

top of the league, far superior goal difference, never got out of second gear at ibrox and as you say we move onto europe, however your asssement of us struggling at this stage seems strange, because correct me if i am wrong, did We not qualify from our Group (which was harder than yours) and yous failed to qualify from the group only winning 1 game against 3 teams who all sacked there manager and appeared to be in the middle of a crises.

14 Sep 2019 20:01:01
With the unfortunate situation now, with ryan kent going to be out injured for several weeks its step forward brandon barker. We will all get behind barker and give him every chance of making the left wing position his for the moment. He certainly has the ability to play well for us out wide left and scored a cracking goal today against livingston. He's very pacey and direct.

14 Sep 2019 21:34:56
I thought Barker did ok today. Less impressed with the rest of the team in the first half. Training ground pace and over passing it. we did look better in the second half as we got a bit faster. Time and time again we look off the pace after an international break, but if we can keep picking up three points when not performing at our best, then who knows this season. It was a game we would have dropped points in last season. I just think we look a much better team when we up the pace a bit. Glad Alfie got one, it was beginning to look like one of those days!

14 Sep 2019 19:43:38
Fantastic character shown today, we deserved to win without doubt, I felt they were taking no prisoners today, and again we didn't retaliate. we would have dropped points last season in this game, keep it going lads.

14 Sep 2019 19:38:28
There were some proper idiots shouting at the game today. You know that feeling when you just want to say "HAWL, SIT DOON AND SHUT THE **** UP". People were going way over the top at points!

14 Sep 2019 19:18:22
I was at the game today and some of the reaction is quite strong, we seem to forget Livingston came into today on 8 points that's more than hearts, hibs, Kilmarnock and I don't think we would be going this crazy if we had beaten any of them 3-1. We weren't great but another day we could of easily be 3 up at half time and again we wouldn't be this critical.

I'm my opinion I really don't think we are that far away we have played a ton of football alrewdy this season and then coming back from the internationals we seemed a bit jaded but it's a win and that's what was required.

14 Sep 2019 20:34:06
Said the same above mate.

14 Sep 2019 21:51:00
I don't get the critics and all the negativity it three points against a team difficult to break down three goals should have been more and on we march.

14 Sep 2019 22:02:11
A Gers win is good enough for me.

15 Sep 2019 09:48:12
We were the 1st top 6 side Livingston had played this season. They have done well however both Hearts and Hibs have had tougher games.

15 Sep 2019 14:52:52
Hibs have played at Johnstone and St mirren I wouldn't say they were hard games us and a killie team devoid of confidence, while in those first games hearts have had Ross County and Hamilton and lost to motherwell at home, again we are completely over reacting we lost to celtic because we tried to change tactics and it back fired we should have scored five or six yesterday we completely out played them all over the park and the stats show that.

14 Sep 2019 19:13:48
Guardiola must go useless can't set a team up how long should he get if they play like that it's over before Xmas said no Manchester city fan on the forums
We need to get a grip calls for manager to go are outrageous totally OTT if we'd played like that two weeks ago in OF and won different reaction 3 points is all its about just now we've got to stay on their coat tails.

14 Sep 2019 21:14:12
Guardiola should be sacked and never be allowed around football again. A defeat against (110 million) Norwich is unforgivable. that's the EPL over Liverpool will now stroll it.

14 Sep 2019 18:40:52
can anyone explain to me why gerrard thought it necessary to risk kent today surely we would have had enough quality to win the game without him.
I also find it strange when he comes out with comments like we wanted it to be all about Ryan today this is a team game not a one man team and unfortunately for the lad he is now injured when he shouldn't have been risked for this game.
Today performance was not great but we got the 3 points that's what matters.

14 Sep 2019 18:57:45
If he hadnā€™t played him he would have got it in the neck ā€œā€ā€ 7 million quit and left on the bench ā€œā€ā€ I can see it now lol.

14 Sep 2019 19:23:27
Agree molsgoals. Also the number of posts saying he should have made changes to the team when every bloody week folk moan that he tinkers!

14 Sep 2019 22:58:27
Aye snell exactly. just hope he never looks at these pages or he will be following mark . and totally demoralised into the bargain . Livingston are the in form top six team apart from top two . they will trouble a lot of teams . bid . strong . ruthless . I would be happy with a 1.0 win in the cup.

14 Sep 2019 18:35:41
Here goes with the unpopular post.

Andy Halliday is our best left back. Cannot understand why people criticise him. Absolutely miles better than Barasic, who himself, isn't a patch on Flannigan.

Oh and before people go absolutely berserk, SG clearly rates him. Although from reading some posts here some of you don't even rate Gerrard! We are privileged to have Gerrard and time will prove this. Smith won ugly a hell of a lot and people are quick to forget that. With the resources we have he's doing a brilliant job.

14 Sep 2019 18:44:50
Barasic will have been rested today and will play on Thursday. And is our best all round left back.

14 Sep 2019 18:47:52
Totally agree mate. Halliday hasn't never let us down since SG arrival.

One defeat in 14 and fans still not happy. Pedro and The bread man would have been creaming themselves for that record.
Several players have potential to be worth a fortune.
Group Stages in Europe 2 years in row after playing in 4 qualifiers in each year.
In SG I trust.
And lastly do you seriously think we would have attract half the players we have under a different manager.
Livy where 3rd in the league this morning and outwith the old firm the form team. We have dispatched them 3 one. Regardless of how we played.

14 Sep 2019 22:05:24
No he's not.

14 Sep 2019 22:08:33
Halliday is our best left back? . heard it all now. Some folk on here need a reality check.

15 Sep 2019 00:30:27
I was at the game today, and to say that Halliday is the best left back we have is totally ridiculous! Not only is Halliday not the best left back we have, I'd go as far to say he's probably one of, if not the worst player we have in all positions. The reason people stick up for him is because he loves the club as much as we do, if it was some unknown foreigner who played like he does in general, and like he played today then every fan would be on his case and he would probably be away by now.

The guy is mince, and part of a by gone era from when the whole squad was of that standard. Not sure if you were at the game op, but just after we got the equaliser today, livingston went straight up the other end and scored but it was pulled back for a free kick to us. Regardless of that fact, Halliday didn't know that the free kick had been given at the time and I've never seen such poor defending in my life!

He let the ball come right over, let it bounce about 5 times and then just let the livi player muscle him right off the ball, and in different circumstances could of cost us today. If we're arguing solely on our best left back then atm it's barisic for me, and with a decent run of games will only get better, atleast he can swing a cross in and make a clearence at the back when need be. Ojo was particularly poor today aswell but atleast we can ship him back to Liverpool when all said and done. Halliday needs off the wage bill pronto imo. Give one of the youth boys a chance. Anything but him.

15 Sep 2019 08:05:16
Perfect post. Someone who actually knows what there talking about. He was giving the ball away (AH) and at one point all he had to do was play a simple 5 yard square pass to Morelos and he was in. He overcooked it. Luckily enough it was offside. I really like SG and want him to do well but sometimes it's like 1 step forward and 2 back. Getting in to Europe is a massive plus. Our performances haven't been good enough (I know the bottom line is results) but they Killie and St Mirren game could have gone either way. Starting Kent yesterday as well is naive. He should have brought him on as a sub. SG done the same with Davis and Defoe. Threw them right in to the starting line up when they weren't fit. One more thing. We are making changes too late again. He keeps doing it and doesn't seem to be learning. I honestly think the pressure is now on SG to win silverware this season. The board has backed him big time so there's no excuses.

14 Sep 2019 18:14:32
A few posters moaning about today, at one point when Goldson has the ball i counted Livi had a back 6!
Of course itā€™s going to be hard to break these teams down but we did. Good result, 3 points.

14 Sep 2019 18:30:47
87hendo, the game wasnā€™t totally like that and Livi played ever so well and could have scored a few with the big centre forward who got sent off, outstanding!

14 Sep 2019 19:57:21
Yately I was at the game. Livi done absolutely nothing in the first half!
Second half after the pen I felt both teams were pretty good but in the end quality shown through. Great character to come back and win from behind.

14 Sep 2019 20:38:07
I was at the game as well Hendo, and just commenting I thought they werenā€™t a bad side?

15 Sep 2019 07:22:32
Completely agree mate. I thought they were decent to.

14 Sep 2019 18:05:12
Theswagman can I ask who you would like as manager if you got rid of SG I would be interested to hear who you would want?

15 Sep 2019 14:22:28
Not my job to hire managers. Iā€™m sure there are plenty out there who would jump at the chance. I think we are blinded by our managerā€™s famous name. If it was McInnes and he had been backed as much as SG has been, had the same calibre if player to work with, and we were turning in the same uninspired performances and he was making some of the same crazy decisions folk would be calling for his head. Too many people in love with being able to say Steven Gerrard is our manager. Now Iā€™m not saying we should be getting rid, but I think he has had a season to learn and build his side. If we are behind Celtic going into the winter break thatā€™s it for me. I would want someone experienced who wonā€™t make some of the inexplicable decisions SG has made to come in and stop 10.

14 Sep 2019 18:02:19
its a funny old game. A few days ago S.G. was raging with Scotland pushing Jack too hard, yet he risked a not fully fit Kent today, result? pulled hamstring. = Bit of the pot calling the kettle back IMO

Good result eventually, but at what cost?

14 Sep 2019 19:03:11
Precisely what me and my old man were thinking. SG said this week that Kent needed extra work to get him up to fitness, so why fling him in when he wasnt fully fit?

14 Sep 2019 18:00:31
Does anyone think we're still title contenders? I certainly do not. does anyone think Kent is worth anywhere near 3 million? I certainly do not, never mind 7 million and does anyone think Haliday should stop giving morelos a hair cut? I do.

does anyone think we're playing the exact same way as the magic hats team and same shirt quality as his. sorry people but stop trumpeting S.G., he's not going to do any better not with these players.

14 Sep 2019 18:08:51
So who would you replace him with I would be interested to see your pick DSGERSFAN?

14 Sep 2019 18:11:44
If we went behind with the Warburton team we donā€™t win the game. Simple as that. At least we played poorly and won. On to the next one.
The thing that scares me is we have some strength in depth yet SG still picks his favourites which tells me he doesnā€™t trust certain players. Why did Helander and King not start today with a lot of fixtures coming up to keep the team fresh.

14 Sep 2019 18:18:18
Todays game is the type of game we wouldn't have won under pedro, murty or warburton. Todays result is one of the reasons I think we will win the league this year.

14 Sep 2019 18:55:11
Nice one grumpy šŸ‘.

14 Sep 2019 19:15:44
Does anyone think dsgersfan is in cloud cookoo land and is expecting. well not sure what heā€™s expecting . Kent was worth 10 million today I thot before he unfortunately went off . Livingston are playing great just now and we beat them and could have by more . score could have been 6.2 and would have been a better reflection . even Laudrup. Gazza and co struggled to break teams Duden at times . whereā€™s your faith boy . supporting a team is. not lol about slatting them at every given opportunity. for goodness sake man.

14 Sep 2019 16:58:35
What is it with people desperate for A chance to attack gerrard and call for his head. We lost to Celtic and thatā€™s it. In Europe the hard way again. Itā€™s the start of the season. We were down by one today and am seeing people calling for his head before we had a chance to reply in the game.

14 Sep 2019 17:23:14
I certainly never heard one person at the game calling for his head?

14 Sep 2019 17:26:44
Total kneejerk reaction yes not great 3 points plus we added another 2 goals to the tally
Celtic rotten 1 goal lucky to get the win to use the old golf adage there's no pictures on a score card just think it could be worse we could be a hearts or a spoon burner supporter.

14 Sep 2019 17:27:51
Just ignore them mate itā€™s same old suspects I thought we won today after going a goal down is that not what SG is paid to do maybe we should get Pedro back if thatā€™s what they want? šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§.

14 Sep 2019 17:30:12
I'm not calling for SG head at all but he keeps making the same mistakes. He has to change things quicker. Barasic has got to be in the team. Ojo hasn't kicked a ball in weeks. Aribo has also been poor in the last couple of games. Arfield is no where near as good as he was last season. We missed Jack today. El Buffalo is invaluable to Rangers. Mention to Tav. Involved in 2 goals. Good to see Barker coming on as well.

14 Sep 2019 16:33:22
Trying not to worry, but today not looking great!
Motherwell's stats in the league match ours and they are cruising!

14 Sep 2019 16:00:36
At what point does the managerā€™s position come into question? Hear me out - this performance (and many others) are very similar to under Warburton, yet Gerrard has fat better players at his disposal. Canā€™t be blinded by the famous name. If this was still Pedro or Murty and we were this poor the knives would be out. He clearly also has an issue with dropping his favourite players and team selections in general.

14 Sep 2019 16:11:08
Cant be far away. We are rank and we must get 3 pts from this game.

14 Sep 2019 16:24:02
I donā€™t understand why we struggle so much against these teams? Itā€™s not like this 11 men behind the ball is a surprise tactic all of a sudden, itā€™s happened for as long as Iā€™ve watched Rangers. Lack of tactical nous from the manager to not be able to find a way to tear these teams apart. Itā€™s no coincidence our best results come against teams that want to come out and play. Gerrard has zero ideas when it comes to tactical tweaks, other than his mental selection in the Old Firm.

14 Sep 2019 16:24:40
it will be midway through the ten in a row season if we are still playing like this.

14 Sep 2019 16:41:56
We are playing poorly but WINNING. Apart from the Celtic game which the manager admits he got wrong. Through in Europe. When teams do come out at ya we can hurt them. Under Pedro and Murty we were losing games and not in Europe. Letā€™s judge after 10 games as new players are being integrated. I rather play poorly and win than play well and lose.

14 Sep 2019 16:52:35
League could be over after 10 games if we keep playing like that.

14 Sep 2019 16:57:38
By all accounts they were rank at Hamilton today. , it's 3 points. Any win is good agaonst Livingston. They have been decent so far this srason.

14 Sep 2019 17:08:09
Good performances are great but results are what matter. 5 games 4 wins.

Whatā€™s the alternative? Sack the manager who is winning games. Donā€™t people say that a sign of a good team is winning when you are playing badly? Is that only reserved for other teams?

Personally, Iā€™ll start to get worried when we are losing games consistently. That hasnā€™t happened yet. 1 game lost this season, much as it hurt as it was against them. I would love to blow teams away, who doesnā€™t? However, if we are winning itā€™s a great place to start from as training can improve performances. Under previous managers we were poor and losing and people were praising draws. SG has raised standard and as much as performances are bad we are winning.

14 Sep 2019 17:15:56
Winning 3-1, playing poorly. Is that not the sign of a decent side. Sack the manager? Mad.

14 Sep 2019 17:51:27
Hard to disagree.

14 Sep 2019 18:02:23
The sack the manager was a rhetorical sarcastic comment and not meant to read as literal. I certainly donā€™t want to sack a winning manager.

As mentioned in my posts results are the most important thing and we have 4 in 5 in the league and through in Europe.

When we start playing well and the players are integrated we will punish teams.

14 Sep 2019 15:55:00
Kent off injured before half time look like a tear I sit right in line with it.

14 Sep 2019 16:46:01
Should never have started. There's no way he would have been sharp enough to start.

14 Sep 2019 17:31:05
Got to say I agree. Big mistake.

14 Sep 2019 14:04:33
Just heard the team news. Kent starts!
Why the f**k do we play Halliday?

I don't care what anyone says. he's mince. End of.

14 Sep 2019 14:10:50
SG disagrees with you.

14 Sep 2019 14:23:38
I donā€™t think Halliday is mince, but I wouldā€™ve played Barasic, still beggars belief that the left back for Croatia canā€™t cut it in this league!

14 Sep 2019 14:37:48
as1974 I hope you are not here today!

14 Sep 2019 14:41:36
Jyf spot on, no matter who plays, we should be behind them 100%. I for one donā€™t think any of our players are mince! Far from it!

14 Sep 2019 15:05:50
Come on guys get the blinkers off. I don't care if he's a die hard Gers guy he's not good enough for our squad.

14 Sep 2019 15:16:52
Heā€™s no great but heā€™s no mince as you say.

14 Sep 2019 15:22:25
Well each to their own but he is sorry.

14 Sep 2019 17:17:38
So the manager and coaching staff are wrong but As1974 is correct?

14 Sep 2019 17:52:45
Halliday is rank rotten.

14 Sep 2019 13:25:20
Think it was Commons that just said Fraser Forster is one of the best keepers in the world! Haha what's he on.

14 Sep 2019 14:10:05
I would love to see the first choice keeper at Southampton maybe even the 2nd choice. They must be amazing, to keep the 3rd choice world class FF out of goal lol.

14 Sep 2019 12:40:14
In relation to Mark Allen leaving, I'm reading a lot of comments that he jumped before he was pushed? Do these people know something the rest of us don't?

14 Sep 2019 13:34:16
His record was patchy at best and he showed no ability to move on unwanted players.

14 Sep 2019 12:16:19
The intensity of Scotland international coaching sessions makes no sense. Jack is match fit, they're not going to get him fitter. Broadfoot was complaining that Killie training sessions weren't good enough for match fitness. That's not the case at Rangers. Now we have one of our best players injured and for what?

14 Sep 2019 13:39:20
Lemon admitted on bbc that Cellic physio is Scotland physio. Time to wake up and not play for them.

14 Sep 2019 16:18:25
Hold on Eric. Are you and your tin foil hat seriously suggesting that the Scotland physio has injured Ryan Jack on purpose? Behave. Youā€™re starting to sound like one of them, paranoid android.

14 Sep 2019 21:15:08
no swag stating a clear fact. physio given clear instructions and ignored. sg knows and stated. what's paranoid about a clear fact?

14 Sep 2019 12:04:44
First thing, would like to thank Mark Allen on his work with our great club. Good luck for the future.

Recently saw an interview between Gary Neville and Stan Collymore where Gary Nev said he is interested in a Sporting Director role. The guy has made enough money through his career, punditry and business interests so salary may not be as important as some. He know SG well, . He is successful business man and knows the game inside out. Why not? I think it would a left field appointment as Sporting Director but I think could work.

14 Sep 2019 10:45:10
Shame we are a few years too late. Would have been great to have sir Alex Ferguson come home to be our new DOF. Just wonder if he would have considered it for a couple of years after retiring from Man Utd. How about Gazza, could you imagine LOL.

Wonder if we will go for an ex big name player in the same vein as SG. Somebody like Viera, T. Henry, Shearer, Dalgleish (get it up them, welcome home Kenny) who knows but hopefully it will be a water shed moment like the 1st June 2018 when the announcement of SG had us on the news all over the world.

14 Sep 2019 12:20:58
Let's all hope it was no a case of him jumping before he got pushed.

14 Sep 2019 12:38:43
Welcome home Kenny? Also, wasn't Alex Ferguson driven out for a particular reason?

14 Sep 2019 13:35:46
Magyar, Kenny Dalglish grew up in Govan and supported Rangers.

14 Sep 2019 13:43:49
KD, as far as i'm aware was a Rangers fan, A.F. was not driven out, just sold as a player. He nearly came back to manage us but the offer was ballsed up, he was a whisker away from joining as manager.

14 Sep 2019 16:19:47
Kenny weny a long way to get to school in Miltonbank Primary then. I'm old enough to remember why Ferguson left Ibrox.

14 Sep 2019 10:28:33
No probs if my want to leave, life goes on. However I thought the principle of a director of Football was to retain continuity when managers left and not the other way round. Perhaps we should sign the DOFs for a longer contract. Thanks anyway Mark, as far as i can see youve done a good job.

14 Sep 2019 10:26:50
Just watched our hummel centre training video on twitter and on 26 seconds there is a player I don't recognise. He looks pretty sharp and was wondering if anybody new who he was?

14 Sep 2019 11:19:50
I'm sure it's the young lad Kai kennedy he's only 17 years old.

Review Of The Day 14th September 2019

14 Sep 2019 07:39:02
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 14th September 2019

14 Sep 2019 00:40:13
Big thanks to mark Allen he done us good he was not a crook he helped the club.

14 Sep 2019 07:36:26
Agree Andy, a vital role to have and I was sceptical at first: when you have a good DOF you get Stevie G, when you donā€™t and leave it to the board you get Neil Lennon šŸ˜‰šŸ‘šŸ».

14 Sep 2019 07:52:16
Here, here Andy09. Mark allen has done a terrific job as our director of football, over the last 2 years or so. He's built a very professional,
modern system behind the scenes at the hummel training centre. He also has an array of terrific contacts throughout the footballing circle, which we will sorely miss. His biggest achievement was that he had the vision to bring steven gerrard in as manager, along with his very professional backroom management team. For that we should all be eternally grateful.

If it is man utd that mark allen is going to, then i do wish him all the very best of british, in his new job. The problem now is our board have to replace him, with someone of the same calibre and should take their time in doing so! I would imagine they will be keeping the director of football position, within our structure, but you just never know, as they might withdraw that position altogether. Time will tell.

why would they withdraw it, Mr King said himself the position was vital for the stability of the club. if it was vital 2 years ago why wouldn't it be vital now.

I echo all the positives. I true professional. Imo his best work was restructuring our scouting and youth development. I truly think that over the next 5 years we are going to reap the benefits of having one of the best youth development setups in the UK. Prior to him arriving our club was broken in these key departments.
All the best for the future MA. Ty for all your hard work.

A name I would love to see replacing him is the wee general. Wee Dick as DOF with maybe an assistant DOF in de Boer. I remember when he first arrived, his first job was to promote wee Barry into the first team and get him signed on a long term contract. A clear eye for a player and fantastic contacts throughout the world. Get the wee man out of retirement and pass on his vast knowledge to a DeBoer like caricature. Who would eventually replace him.
