Fellow Rangers supporters, when we get a visit from the darkside on our page DON'T take the bate. DON'T reply to their posts. Just rise above it. Another thing why can't we all have names at the end of our posts.
Robbiebear

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Names like RobbieBear? Nob!

3 0

My name is jim can you tell which team I support?

1 1

Hi Robbie.

The argument of names after posts has been going on for ages on this site.

I always sign of with my name- it makes it easier to track what's going on and makes for a better debate.

However, there are those that simply don't want to. And there's not a lot we can do about that.

I recall there was a suggestion of a Login system a while back but that was deemed unnecessary.

I guess we just have to live with what we've got and make do.

craig whyte isnt a stupid guy he must have had some kind of plan before he took rangers over, firstly david murray said he would only sell the club to somebody who could take the club forward he must have told whyte about the tax situation, craig whyte wouldnt have been stupid enough to take rangers over without a plan knowing this. all we can do is wait and see the out come and stop all the guessing.back to football now 2.0 rangers v celtic, davis and jelivc.

Why, if we PAID him 1m, did we bother releasing Beattie.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cause his yearly salary would have probably been about £1.3m.

Please stop posting on here wanting mo marley to play in midfield on sunday hes played 34 out of last 35 games hes utter dross

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Everybodys entitled to an opinion

0 0

Anyone who knows ANYTHING about football knows this guys carp. If your opinion is different get yourself down to specsavers numbnuts.

2 0

Out of the last 34 games Edu has played in how many have we lost?????.

1 0

Im sure ally walter the american coach know a bit more about fitbaw than you

0 1

Doesn't matter how many we've lost with him in the team. The boys s**te. We win in spite of him not because of him. Even his own team mates think he's gash. Just watch Davis and Naisy shouting at him during matches.

2 0

Yip thats right they know a lot better than us. We only play him because we have to. Walter's not gonna come out and admit he signed a diddy is he. Paid 2.5m for him so he's not going to be left on the bench. The actual supporters who watch him not just listen on the radio hate him. Are 50,000 of us wrong? I think not.

2 0

What he obviously needs is encouragement, support the team. If you were all so knowledgeable, you would be in professional football management.

1 1

You canny be speaking for 50,000 surely.

1 0

We do support the team but some players are just terrible. He's been pish and a liability for over a year now. I have no doubt Walter and Ally encouraged him but the truth of the matter is Ness and other young players have far more to offer than Edu and though we haven't seen much of McKay he certainly cant be any worse. Should get rid at the first opportunity.

2 0

Go to the match mate and you'll hear what 50,000 fans think of him. Everyone s**ts themselves whenever he gets the ball. Been going to Ibrox since 79 and probably in the top 5 worst players i've seen in a Rangers shirt. Though i will admit Beattie takes some beating.

3 0

What Edu needs is not to be playing in the first team... Get rid of him... Pure junk of a player.

Hope Ally signs Abelairas, throws him in at the deep end against the mhanky mob and secures his first of many triumphs.

4 in a row is coming lads lets forget about this tax case and focus on the football. The mhanky mob can continue to post bs rumours regarding our future as they are running scared of us.

WATP lets get behind Ally AND Whyte.

From a Proud Ger

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Abelairas, cannot play as he has not signed and even if he did would not be registered in time.

0 0

He could be signed 2morro if he was eligible for a work permit ?

0 0

No need for work permit , as he holds Italian passport, although doubt we will sign him .

1 0

Doubtful given the SFA take an eternity to do anything and we're not exactly reknowned for being efficient with our own paperwork at the moment. Hope he signs tho, but i've got my doubts. Even then Ally wont throw him straight into an OF game.

0 0

P.S. He has an Italian passport so doesn't require a permit.

Why are you getting onto Whyte, look at Bain and his side kicks to see who agreed the wage payments that Rangers are being questioned on, if it was illeagal then the people who were at the top then should be legal bound to be prosicuted not whyte.
What about the accountancy firm who advised or operated on Rangers behalf are they not liable for not advising Rangers not to do the payments, if it is wrong then they should be liable , do they not have insurance for making errors ? could Rangers then counter claim them any payments.
I do not know if this is right but i am asking if this is possible as all companies must have liability insurance

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Was Bain on the board when they were originally sanctioned?

0 2

Yes and knew exactly what he was doing!

GDog

0 1

Didn't the dodgy stuff start before 2000 when he joined the board?

I fear for Super Ally if he persists with picking our so called "experienced" players. Broadfoot is not good enough, Edu is toiling and McCulloch offers nothing (I think he's finished). It is no coincidence that our best performance agains 'well involved our youthfull players. Have some bottle Ally and play players on form. Perry should not have been dropped, Hutton should not have left on loan, McMillan didn't do much wrong either. Lets hope we go for the jugular against C****C, if we do we'll win. WATP

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Agree with your points here, I fear Ally is getting into the trap of using experience before form.

This must send a message to the fringe players that they'll never be used.

I've heard Kerkar is a legend in training yet he's never been tried. Hopefully we start to see some of these guys coming trhough

Here's a question for all those who read something they don't agree with on here (even if it's actually factual, thoughtful or sensible) and immediately assume the person who posted is a Celtic fan?

If one of your Rangers supporting friends or family says something about the club you disagree with, do you immediately say they're a Celtic fan or would that just be stupid?

The Bookie

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Your Celtic Fan, away back to your own page, an so's ma Maw.

0 1

Spot on mate. Im a Celtic fan but every1 on the Celtic page is convinced im a ger coz i dare to critisize the club for letting the fans down continuously for the last 3 years.

Drew

0 0

Whats the odds on that happening

0 0

The paranoia and delusion on both sides has reached a ridiculous level. It's time both sets of fans were realistic about their club's problems. I know many fans are but some really do need to take off the blinkers, the blindfold or the woolly balaclava without a hole and take stock of the truth. Oh, and stop castigating those who deliver it or make sensible comments, even if you don't agree - it just helps to confirm your paranoia, delusion and stupidity.

The Bookie

ITS ALRIGHT CELTIC SUPPORTERS GLOUTING AT OUR EXPENCE TRUTH BE IT CELTIC NEED RANGERS AS MUCH AS WE NEED THEM, NO US NO THEM FACT. THEIR WOULD BE NO TV MONEY., NO SPONSERSHIP ,NO SPL AND NO CELTIC.

Drew, I'm sure you would have convinced them your a Celtic fan with that Paranoid statement. I never doubted It TBH.

Mark

0 0

Mark, at the moment he'd have a problem as Rangers fans are just as, if not more, paranoid at the moment than Celtic fans. Just read some of the stuff on here blaming everybody else on Rangers' problems - the media usually. One guy even said it's all Celtic's fault!

Can we stop talking bout the cash situation for now. Wits everyone's views on Sunday. Wot uz think the score will b? Wot team wud uz start with n wot team do u think ally will start with.

I'd go with mcgregor, Ortiz, goian, papac/Wallace, Naismith, davis, McKay, wylde, jelavic n lafferty.

I think ally will hav Whittaker at rb, n I think he will start mcculloch or edu instead of McKay.

Wot uz think??

Believable1 Unbelievable1

McGregor

Whittaker Goian Bocanegra Wallace(if fit)

Naismith Davis McKay Wylde

Jelavic Lafferty

3 0

IN YOUR DREAMS !!!!!!!! Ortiz is mince, should get nowhere near an old firm game, Whittaker is right back, Bocanegra will be in beside Goian, Papac at left back and he will have 5 in the midfiled and the Jelly-man up top with Naisy out right and Lafferty out left in support. Davis, Mackay and McCulloch will fill the last three positions with big Jig sitting in at times in a 4-1-4-1 formation. We will trump the shameless ones 3v1 and Lafferty will bag a brace, I will get elephants trunk celebrating and the wee ginger Lemon will be a step closer to the burroo !!!!!!!!!! Da DAaaaaaaaa 4 in a row

1 2

I hope ur right mate. Im sayin 3-1 swell. I put Ortiz at right back coz I think he wud do a lot better than he has bn in midfield plus the fact Whittaker has bn poor this season. I like the look of the team u sed there tho

0 0

Jst noticed i missed bocanegra he's supposed to b in there n thts Wallace or papac at left bk

0 0

Good team but lets stop dreaming edu will start even thou makay and bedoya have proved them self beater with 15 mins on the park and whitty will be rb and ortiz left or right mid a hope am wrong

Here is a rumour for all you Celtic fans masquerading as Gers fans on this site.

Every time you post something on this site about Rangers tax issues and so called "money problems", it just shows us real Rangers fans how fearfull you are for Sunday.
The Celtic have a European game tommorrow and are still focussed on trying to make feable Rangers fans believe the worst case scenario is a likely possibility. Rangers will never go into administration and all those who think it will have to take a reality check. Do you really think anyone is going to read on the back page or the front page of the paper about Rangers simply dealing well with their tax problems. Rangers fans would be relatively pleased but if Celtic fans see Rangers are close to going into administration they will jump with joy, simply again it is just to sell papers and has been taken well out of proportion.

As for the more important issue at hand, beating the tic on Sunday, do Celtic fans really think their feable and unfit defense will be able to keep up with the likes of Jelavic, Naismith, Davis, Wyle and an on form Lafferty.

Gers to win 3-0 with Naismith first goalscorer. Get it on, you know it is going to happen.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Mate i am a staunch Rangers supporter and a blind man can see we are up the creek without a paddle, anyone who believes differently is either delusional or retarded. As for 3-0, not a chance, our midfield is terrible, gets dominated by every Spl club. Davis must be sick playing with Ortiz, Edu etc. 1-0 if we're lucky.

4 1

You sir, are a nutjob!
did you not read what whyte was saying yesterday? he's practically gearing up for administration, and if you had half a clue, it's probably the best option for rangers right now, in fact, it seems to be the only option.

as for celtics feable (?) and unfit defence, well, they came out on top against you last year so i dont know where you base that argument on.
jelavic is seriously underperforming, davis a shadow of the player he was 18months ago, wylde wont do anything of any note, naismith might dive and win you a penalty, and laugherty......well, i dont think ANY team actually considers him a player, never mind a threat

1 2

Have you been in a coma! Celtic came out on top last year? If that's what pleases you I hope they come out on top again this year!

0 0

Celtic came out top? What was that in mate the nobbly knees competition at Butlins?

Our second string would pump you

4 in a row.

0 0

Celtic fan in peace.

The tax case is dominating most OF discussion right now in papers and phone ins so obviously it's talked about as let's be honest mate anything that's important to Rangers is important to Celtic and vice-versa albeit the outcome (positive/negative) might be different.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow but I'm not really that bothered about the result as long any defeat is kept respectable.

As for Sunday I can see a draw on the cards and if there's a win either way it'll be close. You're kidding yourself if you think the same front 6 that Celtic played against last year will really run riot over a slightly better Celtic defence this year. Sure, no Izzaguirre but we mostly miss his attacking play.

I'd be more concerned with your own, in-the-process-of-gelling defensive partnerships and handling Ki who's been by a mile the best midfielder in the country so far this season and who'll punish Rangers from 25 yards if given any space around the box. As for Jelavic I'm slightly concerned as he's overdue a MotM performance for Rangers and could see him scoring Sunday.

Can I just say as a British Taxpayer, who pays all his tax bills, why can't Mr Whyte do the same?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

It's Murray who didn't pay his bills. Muzz

4 0

I wish people would stop being so stupid and realise that the large investigation by HMRC due for hearing in November is not due to rangers not paying taxes, it is to look into the operations of the EBT that rangers used between 1999 and 2003 to see if there are any discrepencies which HMRC can then use to claim PAYE and NI contributions.

HMRC have had many investigations like these in the past, pretty much all of them have failed

Really wish people would stop knocking the owner Craig Whyte he was after all the only person prepared to take on the ownership of the club, and if and when Rangers are found guilty of the pending tax probe should the focus not be on the likes of David Murray/Campbell Ogilvie who were the directors at the time, and should not be allowed to escape scot free if Rangers are held to account.
Well aware that the tax debt if proven will be held against Rangers rather than any individual, but to repeat these two should be accountable and if not the law as we know it is an ASS

Why has everyone let themselves get distracted by financial issues. Were top of the league and are going for 4 in a row. Celtic would love us to go into administration because its about the only chance they have of winning the title. If septics "well run" club with their over rated players cant win the league on their own merits than surely we should be laughing at them clutching onto our financial crisis to hide their shame at constant failure??

Craig Whyte is the man to guide Rangers through the tough times ahead. The guy is an expert. If we need to sell Jelavic then fine, 9 million for him and get young murphy from motherwell and templeton from hearts for 4 million between them and approx 10k a week better off a week + 5 million in the bank. I think McKay has been brought in so that Davis goes in Jan, again a wage difference of about 10-15k a week. Shagger i would keep forever, the guy is the best keeper in europe..FACT!!! Get rid of Edu, Mcculloch, Broadfoot and that frees up about 40k a week again. Ness, perry, hutton and mcmillan would come in and do a job. and if Bursaspor still want whittaker then get rid, another 25k a week gone. The twins that we signed from Man City may turn out to be decent, their pedigree suggests that and hopefully a few others like darren cole can come through in the next year.
J1985

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Great shout putting Naismith centre midfield. I thought he was excellent against motherwell and broke up play as well as starting attacks. I would have him there every week. For such a small player he is excellent in the air. Big Goian will dominate Hooper/stokes and Jelavic and laffertys height and movement will make celtic's centre halves look silly. Hopefully with wallace back our left hand side will be where most of our chances are created from. I think Ally will go for Wylde ahead of McKay though, although i'd throw mcKay in. Champions 3 Runners Up 1.

What's the script with this Agentine player we have, how does it work as far as signing him and would he be able to play right away?

It's good to see the papers are making a profit, nothing much to report on football so they so they right about the so called plight at Rangers. Unless anyone has any factual information then it's just a case of wait and see.

Team for sunday? My suggestion would be

McGregor
Whittaker, Goian, Boccanegra, Wallace
Davis, Edu, Naismith, McKay
Lafferty Jelavic

Keeps big Lee and Ortiz on the bench and leave them there. Too slow for this game.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Decent team, think Mckay shoudk start, looked good my team would be

shagger
whitty Goian Boca Papac
Naisy Davis Mckay wallace
Jela Laff

I have supported whytes takeover of the club as i believed we were in big trouble as lloyds would of stripped us of our decent players, i know we have the tax case to take in,the loss of CL and euro money, but im now wondering if we have been told what we wanted to hear, there has been no major investment staff wise,we have signed our best players on good contracts though but there has been no £5m direct transfer boost to the squad i dont believe there was ever the £15m available to ally if he wanted it (what manager wouldnt want it in our posistion) now i hear we need to recoup £10m by axing players-is this a smoke screen to cover up money whyte wants to spend but wants keep the wolves from the ibrox gates so he`s quiet about it-whyte said he knew what he was taking on but everything seems to be kept in darkness from us,theres nodoubt murray has crippled the club and he had lost intrest in the last few years i blame him for the situation we are in, he spent money the club didnt have on the pretence he was the major backer which he wasnt in the end-yes he spent alot of his own money but he pushed us to the brink, there has been to many mixed messages coming from whyte and the club.
ive never been a doom merchant far from it,maybe im just wishing there is light at the end of this tunnel,im tired of our club being on the front pages of the paper,i just hope we give those tims a beating on sunday that would sure help the mood

lets hope we can still get top dollar of greegsy, jelavic and davis in jan or summer.. think thats the road that has to be taken to help with debts and hmrc case... Allthough i thought craig whyte would have put up some cash eh?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

14 Sep 2011 10:49:28
Why are so many people blaming whyte?? This was not his doing!! Please have faith

Believable4 Unbelievable2

What is whytes doing is increasing the wage bill by 8m in reneweing greegsy, jela's, stevie's and whitts contracts saying he wants to keep the better players and he has saved the club from having to sell the players. 4/5 weeks later i need to trim 7m off the wage bill, hmmmmmmm. Cheers Mr Whyte thanks a lot ...... funny how my season ticket didnt come down in price despite Whyte wanting to now have a lower calibre of quality at Ibrox .... yeah I dont feel conned at all. I WILL not be renewing by season book whilst Whyte is at the club for these reasons ... if they wanna reduve the price of the tickets since they are reducing the quality of the product then ill be happy to pay it but ask yourself would u pay 50p for a 10p pack of crisps whilst at the same time knowing that the dont taste anywer near as good as they used to?

We need to go out and attack them on sunday! with Naisy and Wylde or McKay on the wings!! jela and laff up front!

If anyone needs to be sold in Januuary i would hopes its whitts, edu and Broadfoot, but i feel Lafferty and naisy would still work upfront if Jela went, and McKay seems a fair replacement for davis with ness and hutton also coming through. Mcmillan deserves a chance to take over from bambi Whitty!!

It is now time to get players such as Weir, Broadfoot, Edu, McCulloch Out of Rangers and replace them in the First Team Squad with the youngsters like Perry, McMillan, Hutton, Ness who will all have the required passion to play for the jersey.

I would look to sell Whittaker as well who i believe has become a liability since his new contract and would be good to get off wage bill. Fleck would benefit from a season on loan and he would be the only player i would look to send out.

obviously it is extremely important at this time for the club to have as much money coming in as possible. i had an idea that may bring in some money on home games. how about a raffle every home game which allows the winner to get the match worn shirt of the player of his/her choice? other prizes may include a trip to the training complex & meet the players etc... i'm sure plenty other prizes would tempt people, maybe a full strip, lunch with a player? as i said just an idea :) Ruby

Just a wee thought for you all my fellow bears.
Don't you think its interesting the frenzy that has been whipped up about Rangers? Between the media/disgruntled ex employees/Celtic fans stirring as hard as they can. We are being bombarded by unsettling mince.
I feel that this frenzy is being made bigger and bigger just to hurt our great club and put the team off from what is important ie. winning the league.
I have no doubt that Rangers will be champions again at the end of this season. We are the better team and thats whats really the problem. Celtic can't stomach being second four years in a row. They will do ANYTHING to upset us and maybe improve their chances of winning something important.
Listen to their calls for protests at Ibrox, their leaks from HMRC and Lawyers and inside sources. None of it means anything unless we suck it all up like some of us appear to be doing.
Timothy go back to your own pages and leave the good guys alone. No doubt you'll be crying for Lennon to sacked after the weekend.

I can't believe that you think Celtic are responsible for this $hit!
It's all down to poor, negligent mismanagement from a guy who illegally bought his way to success, and now you are reaping what was sown.
You sound like you need help

5 3

The only ones who need help are the poor deluded Celtic fans who are getting all excited about fairy tales. To speak on your level - picture Celtic as the love child of the big bad wolf and the wicked witch of the East. Thats right -the baddies in this tale!
In the end the good guys always come out on top son. Now stop dodging classes and learn your sums. Lies + P**h does not equal the truth.
Toodle pip.

4 3

The baddies in this tale are none other than your own club you numpty.
you're right, lies + pi$h does not equal truth, so why have you bought into it in the murray years, and now with mystery boy whyte? all thats ever happened around ibrox in the last 10 years or so is the wool being pulled over supporters eyes, time and time again.

btw, celtic fans aren't the deluded ones, look the word up in the dictionary

Its no lie that rangers could be handed a £50m tax bill. I would be seriously worried. All of your history wont make the bill any cheaper. Even bias rags like the record are reporting the true gravitas of trouble you are in. It's not Celtics' fault, to a degree Bain must be accountable for part of the problem but the main reason you are in the brown stuff is because you lived beyond your means and bought titles that you now so gladly and smugly try pass off as some kind of great world feat. So, stop trying to make out that its all Timmys fault and that the big bad taxman is wrong. Why do you think people and companies have gone to court in order to ringfence their money? I'll tell you why, because they have serious doubts whether the club will exist before they get around to paying them. Wake up and smell the coffee, dig your head out of the ground ostrich. Reap what you sew and all that eh,

3 1

'Deluded'- why it means believing in something that is not true or real. Like Celtic are going to win the title, or that Celtic won the last 3 titles. Perhaps the wools has been pulled over our eyes however whilst we were blind, we were still humping you season after season, you DELUDED fool.

Go away and worry about how you are going to get over 4 in a row

I'd say a certain amount of whats happened is Celtics fault.
Its Celtics fault that they don't seem able to provide their supporters with decent teams.
Its Celtics fault that they felt it was a good idea to get rid of good managers and employ trumpets like lemon.
Its Celtics fault that they think its ok to provide their fans with a joke of a stadium.
Its Celtics fault that they provide poor opposition to the weakest Rangers teams for a long long time.
If you Celtic supporters had any love for your team you would be complaining about all those things instead of trying to annoy your opponents. Have a demonstration outside Parkhead boys!! Only you can put a stop to the shameful management of Scotlands eternal bridesmaids.

Oh right, so it's a falsehood and a lie that celtic may win the league this year? and rangers are definitely, positively, 100% guaranteed to win it?

....and you still think celtic fans are deluded?

as for the other clown above: It's rangers fault these discussions are even happening, get over yourselves and start blaming your messiah murray if you want to lay the blame at someones door. fools, the lot of you.

i genuinely feel sorry for the decent, concerned, mentally stable rangers supporters....idiots like you deserve what's happening

4 1

Since when was Celtic Park a 'joke of a stadium'? As a neutral who's been to both, I'd say both that and Ibrox are good grounds but Celtic Park is better. Yes, it may not have UEFA 5 star status (because of the changing rooms?) but it's certainly not a joke.

Good morning Ed, I just wanted to say a few things, on the Rangers site I read all the time, away and get a job or away and get a life as an insult, nobody on these pages knows a person's circumstances, myself I am housebound due to a serious illness, and my computer is my link to the outside world. So please think before posting silly comments.
My next point is to daviet, who claims to be a "moderate" ger, but sadly throws insults at people while still claiming the moral high ground. People come on these sites for information, but also for a laugh, as long as it is not offensive, why use profanities.
Daviet, your claim about only a "minority" of rangers fans cause trouble, ask the good people of manchester or villareal (in villareal it was sectarian)
I could name practically every town rangers fans visited and there would be incidents of disorder so look at your own fans before accusing others. Neil T {Ed002's Note - The Scottish sites are difficult to moderate and it is clear from many of the posts that there is a need for a slightly thinker skin when reading the posts. I will only pass by occasionally just to ensure the posts are kept on the move but I do notice a lot which I would not let go elsewhere. If anything is particulary bad in my view or uses a lot of words that I do not understand (and I have become hip to a lot), then it will not be posted. I guess the answer is to let it wash over you if you find anything offensive and hopefully we can get back to the "our pies are better than your pies" type banter.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

1. Get a sense of humour, it's only a bit of banter. If sumone tells u to f off or get a life n it rly bothers u tht much then u do need to get a life

2. I think ul find out of the 200 odd thousand tht was in Manchester it was a minority tht caused the problems

3. How does it feel to b runners up three years in a row?

0 0

Your on greetin about how offended you are when someone tells you to get a life then in the next paragraph insinuate that the majority of Rangers fans are trouble makers? Can you explain your logic there? Most Rangers fans would find that offensive imo. Both our clubs have an unsavoury element to our support and that is a fact. If your so offended by being told to get a life then maybe you really should get a life or try staying away from sites that offend you so much.

p.s Sorry to hear your suffering an illness. All the best in your recovery. We're not all bad contrary to some Celtics fans beliefs. Take care.

I have pals who support Celtic and we all agree that an amount of supporters on both sides are scum. The rest just love their team. Now please don't come on here and complain about abuse and then label all rangers fans as sectarian troublemakers. All that does is cheapen your argument. Rangers and Celtic are polar opposites in many ways... but don't we all love football and appreciate a good game? Maybe we should look back in history to events like the world wars. Many Scots fought and died beside each other and I can guarantee that none of them cared in the least about what team their pals beside them supported.
Get well pal. {Ed014's Note - Yeah get well soon Neil.}

I need to resppond to this.

There IS a minority of both sets of fans who cause "trouble". There are millions upon millions of RFC and CFC supporters around the world! I have also acknowledged, in many posts, the difficulties in eradicating sectarian and bigotted views and behaviours at our games. I have also waxed lyrical regarding the "yous are worse than us" argument.

I am slightly surprised that you think I use profanity and insults. I would be interested to see the posts you refer to. I am am also confused as to why you think I have accused others? At no point have I tried to hide from the shame of our "hardcore" and, some might say right-wing element.

If you have been offended by anything I may have said then I apologise- that was not my intention. I have always aimed to encourage debate and not hide behind the 100 years of silent admonishment spouted by the various media outlets and social avenues.

Ok, everyone knows this tax case is a test case for HMRC. Say they win it. Goodbye Liverpool, Man Unt and Arsenal etc who have all used the same scheme. Do you really think the HMRC will hit Rangers with a £40mill bill and tell them pay up or wind up. Not a chance. They will be given a fine and all other clubs who have used the same scheme will follow suit. If they were to close Rangers they would be cutting their nose off to spite their face. Think how much tax is paid by Rangers every year and so forth.

Billyboy

Believable0 Unbelievable2

HMRC do give give a jobbie about how big you are. They worry about how much tax you have (or in rangers case) haven't paid. Rangers will be landed with a giant bill if they lose the case. And just to point out, this is no test case, Deutsch bank have just been forced to pay millions over an EBT. They appealed..... they lost.

Having been one of Whytes fiercest critics on this page, I have to admit that having read his views in the papers I have changed my mind about him. I think he does have our best interest in his heart and that what he is doing will be sore, but very necessary! The only thing I don't get is why on earth promise the funds to buy players at the start of the season...? That is what has caused the unrest. Any right minded supporter would have understood the mans position if he had just been honest from the get go...
Anyhoo, good luck Mr Whyte and M'on the Gers!

Don't u find it hillarious that celtic are only in europe by default listen fellow bears times were meant to be hard for the last three years honestly wait to see wat happens rangers winning winig always winning {Ed001's Note - I don't understand why anyone is surprised or trying to claim it is by the back door. The rules are perfectly clear, the use of an ineligible player in a competitive match leads to the forfeit of the match and a 3-0 win is awarded to the other side involved. It has happened a number of times during the years, I can remember a match involving West Ham in a cup match against lower league opposition. Sion have only themselves to blame, they are trying to steamroller over the rules and refusing to abide by the same set of rules everyone else has to abide by. Personally I think they are a complete joke and UEFA should punish them heavily for their disgraceful and wilful display of petulance over a punishment they were given. They should not have been allowed to enter the draw in the first place.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

How can you find it hillarious that celtic will get about £5m even if they lose every game?

2 0

Ed you obviously haven't read a lot on the case. Sion did not have a blatant disregard for the rules. They went through a court of law and won. They then put their squad in for the qualifier (Fifa kept quiet) they then gave the referee their team sheet from the game (should he not have been briefed by Fifa not to allow them on when they had received the squad details?) Then afterwards Fifa piped up and shot them down. Everyone knows how corrupt Fifa are! Qatar getting the world cup? Come on! Celtic are 100% getting in through the back door (the way they like it) and I as a football fan feel sorry for the fans of FC Sion who have been cheated out of their rightful place in Europe {Ed014's Note - Why would FIFA say anything when it is a UEFA competition. The rules were broken and Sion paid the price, even as a Gers fan I can see that.If it had happened to us we would all be screaming to get back in.

0 0

I disagree, UEFA put a tranfer embargo in place for one year - (2009 -2010) there are two transfer windows in one year, so why did Sion have to wait 4 transfer windows, it was 2008 they commited the crime, signing a 38 year old egyptian goalkeeper (who BTW was on the last 7 months of his deal) the punishment was ridiculous in the extreme and UEFA only handed it down to them because they (Sion) caused grief in the past ... shameful - Platini is a complete and utter t*sspot who really does deserve to be jailed ... {Ed001's Note - irrespective of that, Sion were given a punishment, refused to accept it and took UEFA to court, which is also against UEFA statutes. They are repeat offenders and as such they have to expect the punishment to be increased. They obviously have no regard for the rules the rest of the teams have to abide by and think they are above them. Anybody who defends them is just doing so purely because it allowed Celtic back into Europe. UEFA should have dealt with the case much better, Sion should never have been allowed to compete in the first place and this situation wouldn't have arisen. As it is, everyone in Scotland should just be glad of a chance to improve the coefficient rating for the country as a whole. I can't think of any other good side to it from a Rangers fan point of view, apart from getting the chance to enjoy a Celtic defeat if they lose and can just think about the coefficient if they don't.}

Daviet, saw your post on Celtic site about "positive" discussions on bigotry and respect, very well said until a couple of posts down on rangers site you tell a poster to "F" off, er um not very "positive" daviet, once a bear always a bear LOL Timalloy (never a swerry word passes my mouth)

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Timalloy, Because you don't swear does not make you, your club or the rest of your fellow fans better than me, my club and the rest of our fans including daviet. Your on here quite a bit and usually it's just to stir the proverbial s*** (please don't let yourself be offended by that bad word from the bad gers fan) but i notice your always trying to put you and your fellow shupporters forward as the good people! We have a minority of bigots as do you. We have lots of people that are sweary and abusive as do you. This site and society as a whole would be a lot better if mixers like you just wound their neck in and minded their own business. Get a life bud because you only get one crack at it. Now away back to the conspiracy page and leave us sane people alone.
