According to 'Winner' website yesterday, Mike Ashley is contemplating selling Newcastle United and buying Rangers. Apparently he sees no way that Newcastle can compete with the top EPL clubs like Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs for a CL place. With Rangers certain to be back in the SPL in a couple of years, Ashley sees a Champions League spot is achievable with only Celtic as opposition.

Must be true then

FFS!

Doiger this rumour has been doing the rounds for ages. I would be shocked and utterly surprised if he did. can't see it mate.

There are two guys I'd like to see holding the reigns of the club, Paul Murray and Dave King. I know I'm stating the obvious but what the hell, state the obvious.

JG where at any point did anyone say it was true? The person was only stating what they had heard or seen, so get of that high horse and stop being so daft

@5 did you read the op,

''According to winner website' does that not mean winner website think it's true that Ashley is contemplating it

Just a thought. But has anyone wondered or linked the fact that the long awaited AGM. Has been postponed, delayed. Whatever you care to say. Maybe something to do with the fact that shares by dodgy spivs are locked in till Dec 7th and after that date they can sell their say in the company. Board holding out till that date. Then offski.

Footie - that makes no sense at all

Take a look on the club website in the investor section, you will see the updated list of all shareholders (required by LSE rules) who own more than 3%
Ahmed and Green's names no longer appear there, they sold their personally held shares weeks if not months ago after the new Nomad allowed an amendment to the lock in conditions

Op if you don't believe it go take a look through all the regulatory statements issued by RIFC, especially through September, lse website

Postes 2 and 3 - yes you go through those regulatery annoncements and you will still find it fishy. where exactly in these announcements does CG dispose of his shares?

No mention of him as a major shareholder crossing certain thresholds (3%) as he reduced his holding. very smelly.

only this. on 19 October 2012, Mr Green has agreed to transfer 714, 285 shares owned by him to Laxey, once free to effect a transfer. Under the terms of the lock-in agreement entered into by Mr Green with the Company on 7 December 2012, Mr Green is prevented from transferring shares before 7 December 2013,

Why no other announcements to stock exchange disposing of the othe 5Millin shares. very very smelly
