dont know much about the guy Prior, but from what i'm reading he seems real enough to me, I know we have been taken in by many, who wouldn't have been but this guy seems to want to be a part of our club, and is apparently incredibly intelligent also, which cannot be a bad thing, and he states he "has the financial werewithall " to buy further shares, could we possibly have found a man with dignity and cash? and added brains, (apparently one of the most intelligent men on the planet" is this another red herring? or is the man a good thing? my thoughts are quite hopeful at this stage?
Tommyblue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Iv been reading into him a bit and if the guy is for real and is all for the fans I think he could make a great addition to the board. someone who has the brains and knowledge of finance is what we need to drive us forward. fingers are crossed! stevoRFC

Not sure I agree. "One of the most intelligent men on the planet" is a similar sounding claim to "wealth off the radar" - remember that? I don't want a super freakin hero, just a regular business man would be more reassuring. If he's got what it takes then why the need to make ridiculous brags? Puts me off at any rate.

0 0

There is something going on the last 2 days have seen some big offloads of shares, I hope for the bears this guy is for real but how will the current board cope with someone who seems to have morals.

0 0

Op I think because of what's happened before we will need to be very carefull if the guy is for real fair play to him if I had lots of money I would buy lots of shares cause anybody investing long term can't go wrong that's why I wonder why the so called rangers people didn't get involved

0 0

@1/ Will fans accept the fact that someone with 'brains and knowledge of finance' will drastically cut expenditure?

0 0

Another one who comes out with I want to do it for the fans line. They all say the same stuff so fans get onside. actions speak louder than words. Just do it and stop talking about doing it.

0 0

Having heard about his interest in the Gers I've heard that MENSA have called him back in to resit his test. lol

0 0

@4/ Utter nonsense. Investing long term can't go wrong? How would you explain that? The only way to make serious money in Scottish football is through the champions league or a new European league format. Costs need to be cut sharply and quickly in the short term and a proper financial system put in place. The wage bill at Ibrox at the moment is shocking for a second division club, coaching staff included. A full time goalkeeper coach FFS!

0 0

#2 I think that was the Daily Record drawing attention to the fact he has a ridiculously high IQ, not the man himself.

Personally I think he's ideal - he doesn't seem tainted by any financial scandal for a start and obviously has no onnections to the old board.

If he does decide to buy a bigger chunk of shares after a look at our accounts then I'll be much more confident about our future.

0 0

@3 how do you know if those trades were shares being bought or sold, it does not say on the lse site, I bought some on Friday morning, did you see that trade

While on the subject what is the big deal about the share price?

Rifc 54p what does that mean

JG

@7

Or Shuggy, he has the foresight to see that he can make a lot of money, as the club will be moving forward, if they can manage back to back promotions, the SP is only going to go one way.

0 0

15 Jun 2013 13:53:17
@9 It was also the Daily Record that told us about "wealth off the radar". Not a very trustworthy source of info when it comes to the "facts" about prospective saviours. No wonder he seems "ideal" if the DR is the source!

15 Jun 2013 20:08:59
@2 op here, what in gods name are u talking about m8, BRAG? who bragged?, if you knew anything before getting on your keyboard you would know that the man has been allocated one of the highest ever IQ marks, around 234 I by MENSA I believe, that my silly friend would make him incredibly intelligent and the general media consensus would be that he is amongst the worlds most intelligent men I don't remember any BRAGGING, ffs grow up TB

0 0

@13: there was a girl on TOWIE who was found to have a really high IQ: would you want her buying shares etc.?

0 0

N8 its n4 again if antbody invests a lot of money for 10 year then sells that year they will make a healthy profit that's long term and a cert for a big return cause shares prices rise the better the team does its called investment

0 0

16 Jun 2013 14:08:47
@13 I tend to agree with @2. Since when does MENSA give out certificates in sound business savvy? Why not see if stephen hawking might want a place on the board, in fact let's get ALL the geniuses! Carol Vorderman might be keen, her telly career has taken a dip. Perhaps" growing up" is not being so easily impressed by irrelevant tales of magnificence emanating from the DR, and being cautious about anyone who feels the need to bolt on such irrelevant info to their press releases.

0 0

16 Jun 2013 18:34:06
again op here, @13, just so you have a wee chance to understand pal, the man had many hundreds of thousands to invest with, pretty "business savvy " to me eh?, how much have u got? ffs tB

0 0

16 Jun 2013 18:32:11
@16. try and read the op again kid, nobody said anything about being "impressed" by media reports, nor that we should get any old genius on board, it was simply a reference to the fact the man appeared to be intelligent, I now know that is a hardship for you to take in, but don't just sit at your keyboard and spout crap, nor make up something nobody actually said < try and read it again, and get a life, as for the clown who spoke of a girl from towie, I don't watch it pal, u obviously do, but tell me, "What possible difference would anyones employment have to do with them investing in a company? again another hater, tommyblue

0 0

16 Jun 2013 21:41:03
@13 Things are getting really bad when we need to look to a "general media consensus" to tell us who is and who isn't intelligent and who is and isn't good for rangers. We've there before have we no?

0 0

17 Jun 2013 11:19:40
@18/OP I suppose all those who refused to get in line, swallow the DR spin and fall to praise at the feet of craig whyte were also "haters"? Get a grip mate and calm doon. When the DR tells us we have someone very special I and many others take that with caution. Its based on previous experience and called "once bitten twice shy", and stems ftom concern about the club, not hate.

Steven Naismith home sick and wants to come back to Rangers. . . . . . . this is the kind of drivel that is being spouted on here. let's stick to facts stop making up lies!.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

In other words he has failed to impress down south and now wants to come back here and rip us off.
No thanks.

0 0

I wouldn't say he hasn't made it in england, not at all, always impressed me when playing? am I alone in thinking this? as for coming back > what a ridiculous thing to think?

0 0

@ 1 I think you will
find the op was being
sarcastic

0 0

Why would we want someone back who turned his back in the club in our hour of need? He along with Davis, McGregor and Lafferty should never be welcomed back

0 0

@2 hasn't started many games for Everton and think he managed less than 5 goals so I would say his first season hasn't worked out. Before Moyes left he was making noises about bringing in another striker so Naismith would have been further down the pecking order. Maybe Martinez will give him a chance however no matter wha happens don't want him anywhere near Ibrox

0 0

He has done OK when in the Everton team, but that Belgium international plays ahead of him Millias, think its spelled. And the big Nigerian striker is back fit, and getting games. So its hard for him to get a game, would like him to move. Maybe go to Hull or something if they would take him or Cardif even on loan.

0 0

14 Jun 2013 22:58:47
@4 I dislike naismith too, but fed up with the spin that he 'turned his back on us in our hour of need'. Who else do you know who gave up 3/4 of their wages for a few months to help us out? I didnt, and suspect neither did you.

0 0

@4 did he not take a wage cut to save back room staff's jobs? Get the feck over yourselves!

0 0

Do you think Naismith would accept £7k a week? Where is all the money coming from, explain please?

0 0

@7&8 Part of the agreement for taking his payout is that he negoiated a vastly reduced transfer fee. This means that had Rangers avoided liquidation then he would have left the club for a fraction of his value. By doing this he would earn himself more money making up for the shortfall. By refusing to transfer his contract he then got a bigger signing on fee as Everton didn't need to pay a transfer fee. He also had 2 long spells out with 2 knee injuries and the club (1 of which was down to himself making a shocking tackle against Aberdeen) the club ensured he got the best medical attention and looked after him.

0 0

15 Jun 2013 09:53:34
Hey guys an Evertonian here you can have him for free, he is absolutely shocking, and all EFC fans think the same

0 0

#4. Bet you're not even vaguely aware of the facts of the situation only Charlie Green's spin. Let the bitterness go, MacGregor, Davis and others were great servants at our club. If they had had happened to be near the end of their careers like Jig and no other club wanted them they'd have stayed on and you'd be calling them heroes.

0 0

15 Jun 2013 10:23:25
@10 I don't disagree with the facts you outline, but ultimately agree with @7&8. Its simply unrealistic to expect someone with a certain earnings potential over a short career to "stick by" an employer who has gone bust but is offering much reduced terms on a replacement contract. Naismisth may have negotiated a more favourable exit clause as quid pro quo for agreeing reduced wages, but so what? Do we expect our players to be martyrs, or else label them traitors? Come off it. And we must remember that it was his employer (the club) who had become unable to honour its original contract with him in the first place.

0 0

@10 the point I was trying to make was that these players could have signed over to the new company but negotiated release clauses that if any team offered them £500k they could leave. I am certain that all of the players would have still got their moves plus the club would have got much needed revenue. At the time it was uncertain if the club would survive and that money could have been the difference between survival and extinction. These players chose to walk away leaving the club penniless. All these players made a great living out of the club and were well looked after. I don't think it was too much to ask for some loyalty from the players

Anyone know anything about a friendly against FC Gütersloh 2000 in Germany?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah it's on the 17th. I am going to Amsterdam on the 19th. I am hoping for a friendly in Germany on the 20th. going to rent a car and go through for the day. We played Bochum a few years ago, which for me would be ideal as its 2 hours from Amsterdam and has an RSC!

Renfrew Loyal

0 0

July the 17th I believe. PB

0 0

RFC management getting some tips.
FC Gutersloh - in 1999 were crushed by their 7 million DM debt. The club was dissolved by a court. new clu formed 2000

0 0

Only reason to go to Gutersloh is huge British Army base - I had a few happy beers their when it was a RAF base - the crowd may just pay the hotel bill - RFC certainly are not going for any footballing reason.

okay what do you all think of the chance of singing derek riordan? great goal scorer tell me opinons in comments

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What does he sing?

0 0

He's pish!

0 0

No thanks. He is past it and likes the night life too much to be interested in giving 100% for the Gers. More trouble than he is worth.

0 0

Spent a lifetime hating us, get a grip

0 0

I would not entertain him I hope to feck we don't even give riorden a thought

0 0

Big Eck tried to sign him, and that is when he was good. He is a wasted talent, just like coke head O Connor

0 0

14 Jun 2013 23:01:01
@3 don't remember anyone drawing that conclusion about The Goalie!

0 0

@4 so does the rest of the world mate! Lol

0 0

15 Jun 2013 08:04:30
Riordan would do a good job, similar to Gazza but on a budget we can afford.

0 0

15 Jun 2013 14:00:51
Riordan is class waiting to happen, just needs to be managed right. McCoist is the man to bring out the best in him so we should snap him up. On provision that he gets a new haircut though.

0 0

@9. Are you really going to mention gazza and riordan in the same breath?
That's like saying kelty hearts would give brazil 1970 team a game!
Please stop being mental!
Riordan isn't as good as what we have, so not reqd, or wanted

0 0

@10! priceless! That whole reply was littered with comedy genius!

Just a thought. Hearts can't get Danny Wilson now, but he signed a contract? does that mean his contract could be terminated and free to grab?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If he signed a contract, how on earth can he be free to grab, if hearts can pay his wages surely the contract is sound.
i might be wrong but the 5/6 that have agreements with you, can, if they wish change their minds at any time and ''are free to grab''
hey what about this. celtic wait til the end of august and offer big daly the same contract as you have. you wouldn't see him for dust. shammy

0 0

As long as both player and club are happy to terminate, if not the player will join Hearts in July when his contract expires and Hearts could sell him.

0 0

Yes. see tv sport
Hearts can't sell Wilson
billy h

0 0

Have been reading some hearts sites. They seem to think that he's not registered as he is still Liverpool player until July, so cannot sell him. Not only that they also think he's the best player they have (even if he's not there's ). So that's not saying much for the rest. Even if they were full of superstars who would buy them when the might be able to pick them up for nothing in a week or so?

Blueice

0 0

Danny Wilson's deal is not complete. The Deal needs rubber stamped to register the plaer, Due to Hearts present position that decision has not yet been made and is unlikely to be stamped now. He will be a free agent. Plus do your research mate before you lambast someone elses post.

0 0

" wouldn't see him for dust", how do you know that, don't think I've ever seen him quoted as saying he is a celtic fan, or is that you putting 2 + 2 together and coming up with 5, source for that one please?

0 0

@6 Obviously Daly would pick Champions League over SFL 2 if he was offered the same money, being a fan or nationality doesn't come into it, use your common sense man.

G93

0 0

Would have Wilson back in a heartbeat if he, s available and move to hearts is off

0 0

Do hearts not have some sort of transfer embargo as well, anybody know the details of that one?

JG

0 0

He is a Celtic supporter. He is friends with Scott Arfield (whom I met in Bulgaria when Wilson was rumoured for Liverpool move). Arfield is also Celtic daft

0 0

Tv said yesterday the sfa have told hearts they have no power at all over danny wilson he is only on loan hearts have not registered wilson and it couldn't be allowed considering the hearts situation feck sake they've no money to pay players players will leave for nowt next month

0 0

@ 6 daly is a celtic fan. never hid it. he would come to us in a heartbeat. he is playing for you for money. you are the only third tier club in the world that will pay him that kind of money. if celtic said. jon come play for us. its no contest. if you don't believe that you are misguided. daly would come to celtic for less than you are playing. but then again, now that you are turning into an irish catholic club . maybe your right. shammy

0 0

Shammy don't really see what your point is mate? Daly is signing for Rangers so its irrelevant who he supports or supported or who he may have signed for. What is depressing is people like you bringing religion into it. Can you not try and let go of that nonsense and move on. People like you do nothing but keep the hate going and should have no place in a modern society

Fellow bears

Fellings about young Gregg wylde if anyone should sign him I think it should be us the lad has I'm my opinion has earned a return to our club

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's rank rotten. Lucky if he's even good enought to play Sunday league. Couldny cross the street. Next!

GRD

0 0

Nothing against the lad for leaving in the first place but don't see any value in having him back. All I saw from him when he was here was decent pace with limited to no end product.
Think he's already courting Aberdeens affections with his 'Aberdeen are bigger than Bolton' statement lol :0)

0 0

1. We don't need anymore midfielders.
2. He isn't better than what we have.
3. The lad isn't good enough for any club in Scotland.
4. He deserted us last year, no comeback from that.

Hope that answers your question

0 0

Earned a return? he jumped ship as soon as he could due to already agreeing to sign for bolton

terrible player also

0 0

@4 spot on mate and what makes it worse is that he lied to the fans about the reasons for leaving. Trying to make out he sacrificed himself for others when he already had a move lined up totally despicable

0 0

Imeloving it big time carma its called

0 0

Folk said the same about Kris Burke, that he was all about pace and had no end product. He had the highest assist rate in the championship last year and 13 goals. Maybe Wylde should play as a striker? If he did come back now would be the time to play him in there, up against poor defences. I think McCall would take him at Motherwell, to replace the Jamaican Humphrie, same type of player.

0 0

Looks like Wylde is signing for the sheep. It also said a French team was wanting him Nauntes who Mo Johnston used to play for, who got promoted. Silly boy he should have gone abroad to be a better player.

Hi guys is there any truth to these players being linked with Rangers? Not QPR but Rangers.

Ronnie Stam Defence, 28 Years wigan
David Jones Midfield, 28 Years wigan
Piscu Defence, 26 Years wigan
Alex Pearce Defence, 24 Years reading
Simeon Jackson Striker, 26 Years norwich
Korey Smith Midfield, 22 Years norwich

There all out of contract. I think they would be good players to have although we are in D2 why not get them in and get them to know each other and playing in scotland.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who is being offloaded or are you just collecting players so no one else can buy them?

0 0

Yeh I'm sure they will all jump at the chance to go from being prem league players in England to play in the second div in Scotland. Unrealistic expecting any players with that experiance to sign.

0 0

None of them will sign for Gers. They will all get championship clubs at worst. The Wigan ones at least.

0 0

Whats wrong with prem league players at that bottom half prem league players coming to Rangers. least they have a shot of winning titles. Not to mention Champs league in a few years, and be a part of history.

So in fairness there is players that will be interested in coming to us. so I think you should hold judgment ppl!

0 0

Think Alex Pearce was linked with Liverpool so think he's unlikely

0 0

14 Jun 2013 07:37:22
why would anybody want to buy a season ticket for any spl club next season. the spl is the most uncompetitive top league in europe ( not even a 2 horse race now )aberdeen and hearts have lost or put up a squad full of players for sale, utd and motherwell have lost 3 or 4 1st team players, with a number now on freedom of contract, now able to move on for free, and the rest struggling to operate on a monthly basis never mind trying to add to their playing staff, would not make financial sense in these hard times, more realistic that fans would pick and choose games and pay on a weekly basis depending if they fancied that weeks fixture or not!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would buy one for partick. See them kick celtic's ass along maryhill road. there my pick for winning the league lol!

Yeah the league has fallen apart. It's still going to be the same when and if we get back there. As the way scottish football is going all clubs will be under the mill. And there is no chance both Gers and Celtic being offered a chance to play in England.

So we just got to face it, Scottish football is dying.

0 0

See this is the difference I'm a Gers fan have been all my life but for these teams fans its not about winning & big signings t's about supporting your club through thick & thin far too many Rangers fans are Glory Hunters probs not been to an SFL game yet but are the same ones who shout on about being fast tracked who we signing next we need 6 players and all that p@sh it does my head in & puts me off supporting my own team maybe if we didn't try to buy our way back & use all these smoke & mirror tactics to hide the real financial truths that are hurting our club with no real long term future plan we would be getting on a lot better the expectation is so high for Rangers that the clubs forced to spend money we don't have. Liquidation should have took us down a peg or two & we as fans should be realistic about the future all I want now is my club to live within it's means & if that means we can never make another Titla Challenge for 10 15 years so be it. Everyone else has played by the rules we didn't that's why we are where we are that's why we have the worst Rangers team in History & that's why we can't go sign Zaluikas Berra Wilson Cathcart Humphrey keep Goian keep Boca were shipping a million a month bears we've not played a game for about 2months now the clubs suffering so support it like everyone else supports there's win lose or draw or just support go support Manchester City or Chelsea!

0 0

Its called supporting your team maybe some SPL fans should try it someday and maybe their clubs wouldn't be going down the pan

0 0

That's the issue currently in Scottish football. The so called top teams such as Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs and Dundee utd had appalling league performances and have all been weakened. Motherwell have lost at least half their team as well. The SPL is going to be even more of a procession next season and its on a par with the leagues in Ireland and Wales. If Celtic fail to get into the champions league next season then the games will all be pointless

0 0

Not every club has a 40k+ fan base but SPL clubs still have a hard core support who will still follow them no matter what a bit like yourselves so the last comment about " try it someday" makes you sound like a prat!

0 0

By your logic then, why would anyone buy a ticket for the new sfl2 league? The huge amounts of money spent on wages to sign players must mean that it will be a one horse race for rangers too. Fans go to games cause they love watching their team, win or lose.

0 0

Think the gap between rangers and other div 2 clubs is going to be a lot closer than celtic and the other spl teams who seem to be losing players which are either not being replaced or their positions being filled with youths!

0 0

You ever heard of tHe saying you don't s*** where you eat? We're all scottish clubs so you're kind of undermining your own statement op.

0 0

Where are the new shops opening, any in Fife?

0 0

OP hail hail big fish in an even smaller pond, the tic put a spin on it last year let's see what happens in the next two years.
If they fail to qualify for the cl the s*** will hit the fan for the stand alone club with the biggest first team pool in its history.

0 0

Its definetly all down too the clowns running scotish football it wasnt enough the guys ruined well run establishments down the road giving themself big rise in wages no wonder england laugh at us we ain't a big enough country for these wages get our own runing the game then we might see success like before tmwnn

0 0

@10 Celtic have failed to qualify several time recently for the CL and the s*** did not hit the fan. Simply the club have got some buffer of money and no real debt. I think likely that with 3 qualy rounds to negotiate there is a chance they won't make it in next few seasons. but it won't result in liquidation due to bad financial management

0 0

@12

If Celtic regularly don't qualify for the group stages, then they will know about it. Gloat as much as you want for now, plenty more 'credit crunches' on the way. Never say never though, just remember. Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. xx

Don't suppose anyone has heard anything about next seasons kit comes out I've tryed several sites but can't find anything.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

On the official site yesterday, stated that the new shops that open at the end of July start of August will be in time for the new Puma strip being launched.

0 0

They are trying to resolve sponsor issues. CG didn't actually do a deal. Blackthorn have pulled all mention of Rangers from their website. no sponsor no shirt. there will be a sponsor and it could be blackthorn. but only when deal actually signed
