400k WTF he better be a bargain buy that is gona flurish
I've lost all faith in this whyte c**t
Ortiz is s**te so far, 3 games and he looked p*sh, hope he pulls through and has some kind of spark.
Penny pinching that is going on is unreal, yes ok he cleared our debt but jeez come on the team need fresh faces, don't need to be a genious to see that. I dont care if he doesnt sign anyone next year but we need players this year..... and soon
Its a joke, everyone surely feels the same, 3 games and 3 loses. We wanted to win those matches theres no point in coming out with this crap that we were just getting the team to gel etc..... what, cos we got 1 new player we need to "gel", its the same team as last season that won the double Am getting worried an the league aint even started

COME ON WHYTE GET YOU WALLET OUT FFS
Am beginning to wonder if he is a person Anyone would think he was a person at this rate

Kenny miller will get us 20 goals this season when he is playing with jela. I think if we have two good strikers and one or two back up players to play in the smaller games we will yet again score more goals than the scum.

Dont think we all need to be looking for BIG new names coming in as deep deep down we all know that it will be one or two players who we wont be blown away by and kenny back to top up our goals.

Ive said it before and ill say it again, we all forget that its the same old same old spl year in year out.ok i know mr lennon got himself in trouble for being a d1ck but apart from that it will be a two horse race yet again with the game worth watching is the world famous old firm match.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Kenny miller will get us 20 goals this season

hes done that once in his career and only scored 5 goals in turkey no chance hes getting 20

0 0

He will get 20 easy moron he was top goalscorer in spl an he missed the last 4/5 months

Rangers could be drawn to play Sharmrock Rovers in the CL 3rd qualifying round. I really hope not, the idiotic fans would be a nightmare and we are trying to rebuild our reputation in Europe.

GovanFR {Ed046's Note - i agree with you but to get that quality of a team with our current defenders would be a good opposition.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

On the bright side.... we'd hammer them and get through to the next round, lol.

2 0

Here is a list of potential opponents; Mogren (Montenegro) or Litex Lovech (Bulgaria), Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia) or Tobol Kostanay (Kazakhstan), Pyunik (Armenia) or Viktoria Plzen (Czech Republic), Maribor (Slovenia) or F91 Dudelange (Luxembourg), Bangor City (Wales) or HJK Helsinki (Finland), Valletta (Malta) or Ekranas (Lithuania), Zestafoni (Georgia) or Dacia Chisinau (Moldova), Malmo FF (Sweden) or HB Torshavn (Faroe Islands), Shamrock Rovers (Republic of Ireland) or Flora Tallinn (Estonia).

All a bunch of unknowns to me but so were Unirea, Artmedia, and Kaunas. But if we play well we should beat those teams.

Rangers to offer £5m for Pavlechenko to be funded by selling Bougherra to Aston Villa £8m plus cuellar as part of deal. Work in ibrox superstore and I am privy to these deals. 100% genuine Bluenose Billy {Ed046's Note - that post is embarrassing

Goodwillie is facing all kind of charges, yet seems unable to change his behaviour. Sadly rangers are being tarnished by being associated with him. I read Jock Stein's book and he had a saying "the Celtic jersey does not shrink to fit any player" if gers sign goodwillie their reputation will shrink

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Agree 100% Can't believe the amount of 'numpty's' who would be happy to see Rangers pay 2m for a thug and a possible rapist.

He's not a 1st offender remember....3 assaults and 1 rape (charge)

The tims would have a field day, and rightly so

3 2

He's been charged? I must've missed that... back to your own page Timothy

0 2

What do you mean 'he's been charged??

Are you saying he hasn't?

Oh and back to my own page i'm a bigger blue nose than you could ever imagine ... Dafty.

1 0

Is this the charge you must have missed, and this is also the guy you are desperate to sign....you must live in another planet...then you have the audacity to come on and call people tims for telling the facts......from the BBC News Website..

Dundee United and Scotland footballer David Goodwillie has been charged with raping a woman at a new year house party in West Lothian.

Lothian and Borders Police said the 21-year-old had been released on bail.

The charge comes after a 24-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted during the house party in Armadale on 2 January.

Mr Goodwillie is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court at a later date.

2 0

The Celtic jersey shrunk to fit Neil Lennon, or did it grow?

I can't believe the amount of SO-Called Rangers fans on here complaining and moaning about our lack of signings, it was only a short time ago that we were all jumping for joy when we won the league. What is with all the negativity?? Why are we trying to judge Mr Whyte before a ball is kicked in the SPL or Europe and to make matters worse, there is people having a go at Ally already too. Ally has been written off so many times in his career and bounced back again and again to prove his worth to our club. Why are people not patient and let these guys get on with their jobs and support the club you all say you do. Keep the faith and keep on believing and get behind our wonderful club......

True Fan Aldo

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Here here well said sir

4 2

Yup Roger that iawt

1 1

It may only be pre-season, but 3 game played(2 against part-timers) , 3 defeats, no goals scored, lost Lafferty&Bougherra to injury, 41 year old central defender, even smaller squad than last season, only signed a player that Smith was keen on 2year ago & we are offering embarrassing amounts for transfer fees for players. The league starts a week on saturday and you True Fan Aldo ask why all the negativity?people pay a lot of money to watch Rangers and deserve better than this pish we're being fed.so f***ing shut up ya tool.

3 0

Yep the board knew it was a short pre season and a week b4 we play in the spl we have one new signing and have lost all our loaned out players we go in to the new season weaker. not good enough

DGW is only cup tied for uefa cup now. If they qualify for the NEXT round and he plays, he will be cup tied for all European ties. If villa had stuffed Rapid Vienna last year Jelavic would have been available to play. Europa league? Where the top teams play? Lol

Believable1 Unbelievable1

14 Jul 2011 21:11:37
Not a rumour but GIVE WHYTE A CHANCE the season is not long finished and granted its a quicker start to the season than norm, but the transfer window isn't exactly close to slamming shut is it?

I would rather wait and get a good (sorry I mean the right) player, that wants to play for us. That's why when the odds are stacked against we always pull through (Well exceed expectations). Great/Club team spirit.

If Coisty doesn't bring anyone in within the next 48 hours then I won't worry because he will - He doesn't have an easy job right now, but know he will get there in the end, he has resources, contacts and great friends :)

EPL squads still to be decided, loans & transfers then are a definite possibility in addition to any signings b4... Defo more to come guys stop moaning, where has that ever got you?

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Totally agree with the above Pull yourselves together iawt til a croak

bla bla bla Am a bluenose and av this gut feeling that whyte is taking the p**s oot us ? signing this and signing that.Cmon whyte and deliver what u promised .Goodwillie 2m, , bargain, , cuellar 3m, , bargain + the rest u lost out on . Still a bluenose through and through but cmon rangers lets make signings, , hopefully sooner rather than later, , watp

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Don't talk pish...

How can we sign Goodwillie for 2m, when he is due up on his 3rd assault charge in as many years, and then a RAPE charge....is there a clause in his contract that will get us the 2m back if he gets 2 years in jail.......why do you think he's still at Utd. i wonder eh?

4 1

14 Jul 2011 21:00:52
just because goodwillie played today doesnt mean we wont bid for him. he would NOT be available for our champions league qualifiers but would be available to play in the group stages if we get there. However if we play in the europa league at any point this season he would NOT be available for that either FACT. the real question is do we really want a player that could getting charged with rape and assault. IF he is guilty he is no better than imo.
johnger

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Totally agree

I've been posting it for days....they must all be thick.

Goodwillie might actually get jailed for his assault charge, as it's his 3rd since 2008, then he has a rape charge, which if he's guilty, will guarantee him a long stretch....i just don't understand why people think we should sign him, Malky McKays directors have told him to drop the interest as well.

14 Jul 2011 20:59:18
So yet more bids rejected because were trying to sign players for tangarines and apples. So have we wasted this " war chest " on players who were already under contract by giving them new much improved contracts. Salim kerkar was givin a new contract i think that pretty much says it all.
FINGER OUT WHYTE WERE BECOMING PRETTY EMBARRASSING

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jul 2011 20:51:16
another problem is we need to sign players we want to play in Europe by the 21st july, 7 days and counting down

Believable0 Unbelievable1

14 Jul 2011 20:51:05
i just dont get it if we can afford to splash just say 1m+ on cuellar then why cant we just spend say 500K on this rodrigues. its half the cash and not alot of cash 4 a player tbh. i was not 2 worried but the stuff thats coming out of ibrox at the moment doesnt sound to good. i still am a belever tho and here we go 2 4 in a row :)

Believable1 Unbelievable0

MY own opinion is that whyte doesn't fancy ally as manager and that we will end up the same as the mhanky mob stuck with a hero worshipped manager that is no good as a manager and near impossible to sack. Only thing that makes any kind of sense to me

perhaps Whyte should throw in a tube of smarties when he puts in his worthless offers. Don, t think Ally has the guts to stand up to him yet. We are scraping around bargain basement crap and still nae picking up anyone. League starts in a fortnight and we aren, t any stronger. Bougey may stay, are we meant to rejoice this?? He wanted to go but no one wants him. Is 2million really to much for goodwillie? I don, t think so.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

14 Jul 2011 20:18:53
Rangers about to come in with a second take it or leave it bid in the region of £500,000 plus add ons for Raul Rodriguez Better news is that Madjid Bougherra may now stay with the club
Personally, I will be a happy man by August if Rangers can get Raul Rodriguez a left back and another a striker with cash and then perhaps a couple of loan deals

Rangers may have liked to sign a few Bosmans and loan deals first but they may have to purchase on a few then think about some Bosmans/loans afterwards

Believable0 Unbelievable0

9 days to go.....and we have one new player two after tonight should be on ssn in couple of hours...i believed we would of had 5 or 6 players in by now .not looking to good from mr whyte

So Ally Mcoist says Mr Whyte is totally behind him in the transfer market, yet we have once again failed to meet a players valuation regardless if we have not heard to rodriguez ally wanted him so Mr Whyte where was the backing? i am sick n tired of us bidding for players and i getting rejected, mr whyte u need to put up or shut up

Who else think that we should all offer Rangers half the money for a season ticket (whatever the price is)

Believable5 Unbelievable0

14 Jul 2011 20:05:57
believable or un people on ...........
what do u people think now of craig whyte seeing how low the offers are on players as for lee wallace ? cuellar ? and by the looks of things rodreguez ? ( not correct spelling i know ) maybe just maybe the old board were right on watching what he was like. I know im not the only rangers fan thinking this just think we need to talk about it.......

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I think mr Whytes wants to drive a hard bargain....but his bids have been ridiculous.... I know money is tight....but there is being tight and then there is taking the mick

1 0

14 Jul 2011 20:05:31
rangers really need to stop messing about now in transfer market we need players in now mr whyte get your finger out your a*** and sort it out otherwise the fans will turn on you its not good enough ..people say the TW ends on 31st aug but we need players in before that we have 2 euro qual to play SORT IT OUT RANGERS ....

14 Jul 2011 19:21:00
BREAKING NEWS........Whyte seen in discussions with a top agent..... No wait... He was in the chippy, ordered a fish supper.. Told "thats £5.00 please"..... Mr Whytes response...." how bout £2.50".

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Are you trying to say all Scots are tight fisted? I'm from N.I. and I have never met a mean Scotsman, not in a pub anyway

0 0

Haha... No... I'm Scottish myself... But I am saying a certain owner of rangers fc is extremely tight

regarding goodwullie and uefa

uefa rule

18.07 As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA
Champions League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for
more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally,
however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second or third qualifying
round of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to
play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another
club as from the group stage, provided that his former club did not qualify for
the group phase of either the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa
League; moreover, as from the start of the round of 16 (round of 32 for UEFA
Europa League), a player can be registered in accordance with paragraphs
18.17 to 18.20 below. For the avoidance of doubt, a substitute player who
has not been fielded is entitled to play for another club competing in the
UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League in the course of the
same season, provided that he is registered with the UEFA administration in
accordance with the present regulations.

if im reading this correct if united dont qualify to the group stages then if rangers signed him he would be allowed to play not that i want him to sign for the champs

no doubt someone will correct me

Tony

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Yes Tony, just like last year when we all wanted Vienna not to qualify so Jela could play in Europe. Same scenario but i'm rooting for Utd.

0 0

So am i m8 cause i dont want goodwillie i would prefer Miller

Tony

1 0

I would prefer someone completely different but even if we did sign Goodie i'd rather Utd went on and got the co-efficient points anyway. I doubt we'll sign Miller. I reckon the most we'd pay for him is about £600k-£750k...... but i dont think that will be enough. One things for sure, Whyte needs to start increasing his offers and stop trying to get players on the cheap. You dont save money in football - you pay over the odds and hope to make a profit in future.. JPM

why is everyone so uptight about transfers? this time last year we had eact same squad with the expection of miller, foster and weiss, so 2 of them have been replaced with heally and ortiz. itstill really earlier for transfers as over 6 weeks to go before it shuts, the only reason people getting uptight is because the league starts early this year. So relax i didnt see all this panic last year. transfer will happen in due course

Believable2 Unbelievable2

We didnt have foster or weiss this time last year m8?

Why all this talk about having to raise Funds by Fan's donations and naming rights for the Stadium ? You're owner is a BILLIONAIRE Is he not ?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I'm unsure of his financial position. I don't believe he has a personal wealth of 1 billion, i.e. one billion in his piggy bank to spend as he wishes. Maybe he has near to a billion tied up in assets??

0 1

Hes a billionare but his purse is a tight as a ducks arse

1 0

So you think Craig Whyte has One Thousand Million Pounds tied up in Assets ? Where ?

1 0

I don't know if his billion exists, but I'm sure if it does, he has it tied up in companies so in reality he won't have much to spend.

I think they should make a british superleague in the summer. with 24 teams competing

-8 from scotland ( top teams plus cup winners )
-8 from england
-4 from wales
-4 from NI

They should play it in a different country though and make a lot of dough whilst spreading different teams to other place

eight groups of three
winners go to 2 groups of 4

Who thinks we should sell the naming rights for Ibrox to raise funds for players?

agree/disagree {Ed046's Note - i can see both sides to this argument but would you want your beloved team just to change the name of your stadium to something completly different? i know i wouldn't

Believable6 Unbelievable8

I would hate to see that happeen but i think whyte will try it

1 0

How many Rangers fans are in Scotland? The world? Perhaps Rangers could set up a "squad donations fund" which would be 100 % guaranteed to be spent on player transfers each season. I'm sure they could raise 20 million a year from such a scheme. I'd be quite happy to give 50 quid a year if I knew it was going to be invested toward a new player.

Goodwillie is not welcome nor required at Ibrox. He is trouble. Dixon will not come either nor Wallace. I have no problem with SPL clubs wanting to keep their best players however we will not be f@@ed about by these minnow clubs. If they hate Rangers so much fine, don't bring your a@@hole fans with you and we will happily spend nothing at yours, we and Celtic keep you alive.

Bears, we can do much better and will. Let's not mess about posting nonsense, let's keep this a real
rumour page or soon everyone will stay away.

Yorkston, Johnston, Romanov and Thompson: you're all gutter rats so do one.

As for voting, no need. If you think this is unbelievable, you're not a Bear.

As there are quite a lot of unhappy bears posting today thought I would bring a smile to less fortunate rangers fans.

There once was a wee manager called SALLY
Who managed a team near WINE ALLEY
Some new faces he is in dire NEEDAY
But new owner thinks they are being GREEDY
So Sally went to the pub for a BIG SWALLY

0 0

Rest of the world green n white wot was that banner saying in Australia that lemon was going mental about I think it said GLASGOW RANGERS CHAMPIONS aye think that might have been rangers fans {Ed046's Note - i found this interesting as lennon said we should be concentrating on our own team and when he cupped his ears he said it was just a joke. however we do something as a joke and i have many celtic fans say to me it was brilliant and extremely funny. so my question is, what is the difference between the two or is it that lennon can't take a joke ? But it should end there and not go to far (the parcel bombs)

does anyone think the stadium should be expanded to bout 70,000. that way we could lessen ticket prices and we would fill it quite a lot

Believable2 Unbelievable2

The money it would take to expand to that capacity would only be fired back onto the price of season tickets, non starter for me................... {Ed046's Note - also we did not fill up our stadium last season and i feel it would backfire on us.

Glasgow Rangers Best fans in the World

1 0

I'm sure the business folks at Ibrox must have considered that avenue and ruled it out? Maybe Craig Whyte will consider it.

1 0

In reply to Ed, I think it would be possible to fill the stadium if the prices were cheaper. I guess folks are feeling it hard the now with the Torries slashing wages and paying off folks. {Ed046's Note - it would be possible for us to fill our stadium at the present if they lowered the prices but i cant see 70,000 people in ibrox stadium even if the price was lowered to a fair amount

0 0

Is that a joke?

Whyte wont buy players never mind spend millions on expanding ibrox

0 0

Needs to be bigger thaan the piggery

1 0

You could be right Ed, but they could consider expanding to 60,000. As they say, every little helps. You probably wouldnt fill 60,000 seats either but hey. May I ask Ed, is this a job for you or a voluntary thing? A hobbie to act as an editor? Either way I'm sure it's a busy shift. {Ed046's Note - This isn't my job, i actually only started yesterday by sending in an email to ed001 asking him if i could be an ed. it is a very busy shift as i am a die hard rangers fan and i want to be on this as much as i can to make sure each post is put on as soon as it comes in and i want to hear from fellow bears about what they have to say about the club i love.

1 0

Maybe I will email Ed001 too and request to be an editor. I didn't realise there was more than one. Keep up the good work {Ed046's Note - thank you but it is hard work but it is fun.

I'd play it safe and stick to singing Beatles songs, or songs from another popular and successful band. Perhaps Alex Salmond should be invited to Ibrox do his own rendition of "Hey Jude" since he cares so much about what people sing at Ibrox. Maybe he's a jealous Celtic supporter.

We ARE allowed to sing 'Bob the Builder', 'Agadoo' and 'Nelly the Elephant'. Anything else may be offensive to someone out there

RANGERS fans groups have annouced a statement on the party atmosphere the fans created at the last part of season to keep this going, I fully agree with this but I think the jist of it is to tell the not so well educated fans of ours was to shut the f*** up with your songs that r going to get us hammered and remember the manky mob telling us what a wonderful day it was the day they lost the title and what it would be like there if they won the title well I will say it again keep wondering because WE ARE THE PEOPLE AND HERE WE GO FOR 4 IN A ROW

Everyone on this site needs to WAKE UP

I am sick to death of hearing of transfer targets that dont happen. Whyte is a liar and a conman, we wont sign anyone of a high standard. He said we are going to spend 5m, maybe more. So far £500k. We wont even pay 2m for our main target - Goodwillie. He will play tonight and will be cup tied.
Please vote using agree or disagree

We will never make the CL group stages unless we get 4 new players which is never gonna happen in time

Is whyte good for Rangers = agree
Is whyte not good for rangers = disagree

Believable17 Unbelievable10

Remember folk the transfer window is open just 13 days .
also rangers signed all there players in august last season and the year we signed edu, davis, bougherra, mendes etc they were al signed in august its just becuase season starts earlier that everyones panicking .. dont forget the team that won the league last season is still there .. this is one of the reasons why we are the people ..

Goodwillie will not be cup-tied ya moron he will only be cup-tied if utd get into europa league an thats highly unlikely

I'm not panicking not just yet Judge Whyte at the end of the window I'm confident we will get a few players in before the Hearts game. Roll on the 23rd Step up and Play The Machine Seem to Say........

Yes but the new season starts 23rd July, players should be brought in now.

2 1

Jelavic played in the qualifiers for Rapid and he was cup tied you fool - same for Goodwillie - he cannot play for the Gers in europe this season now - FACT

We wont get him anyway as whyte is a crook and has no money {Ed046's Note - i have just been discussing this with a fellow ed and this is what he had to say to me....You cannot play for two teams in the same competition (i.e. Suarez). There is also a January amnesty for one player who has appeared in a different competion - regardless of whether his team has been knocked out or not (i.e. Torres). hope this helps yous as it helped me

0 0

Yes but the new season starts 23rd July, players should be brought in now.

Why?, Surely with the squad we have we should be able to knit a close unit together that will win the games until the 1st of september

McGregor
Papac
Weir or Raul
Boughie
Whittaker
McCulloch
Davis
Edu
Wylde
Naismith
Jelavic

(Lafferty Injured of course)

Subs:
Alexander
Broadfoot
Cole
Ness
Ortiz
Hutton
Fleck
Bendiksen
The lads from Man City

Seems like a strong starting 11 to me

Trust me, End of July, and August all the EPL players will be advised that they're not in the 25 man squad, there will be undoubtedly a good number of players made available.

I'm starting to think that maybe Murray, Bain etc. were right about their warning to gers fans.some stupid posts on here from people that live in a dream world, lets face facts.I myself bought into the fantasy web of lies that we were spun at the end of last season and geniunely believed that we would make 3-4 top quality signings in the region of £5million each.Mr Whyte or Mr not quite as he should be called was quoted in saying that the first initial season would require more investement than normal.so far Hemed-FREE Conway-FREE Danns-FREE Ortiz-Undisclosed and now for the big one Rodriguez-£400k.If this is more investment than we are normally gonna throw about then I for one cant wait for next season. This is a worrying time for us Gers fans and Im talking about the real ones who fork out their hard earned cash to the club. Its easy to sat WATP or have faith but maybe we should all WAKE UP and see whats happening to our club and start asking questions.Govan Rear Ger

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I sincerely agree with you here. I too am concerned about the lack of signings for FREE individuals. A few of those players who were free should have been given a good enough wage to secure them. Its only common sense that we could sell them on for a fee that would probably cover the cost of their wages anyways.

Mr Not Quite is too much of a businessman who doesn't know how to buy players...he might know how to buy houses but houses dont have an opinion and cant talk back.

10mil warchest was clearly a lie and i hope to heaven that it will turn out to be available to spend because so far we have lost so many good players that we should have had and only spent a fraction of what was promised. He'd better do what he said or come the end of august if we dont have any decent players in where we've spent a decent amount of money, i fear there will be quite a few rangers fans who wont be renewing the season tickets.

1 0

Who said there would be 3-4 quality signings of 5mil each?? It certainly wasn't Coisty or Whyte. What McCoist said was he wanted quality over quantity, which my friend is a completely different equation. The close season is frustrating at the moment no doubt about it and I would settle for Goodwillie never mind anyone else and I dont rate him that highly.

However ask yourself this; where would we be right now had Whyte not bought us?

I'll tell you, no Whittaker, no Greegsy, probably no Davis as well as everyone else who left on loan. And not one penny of that earned would be back in the squad. And what about the debt and the bank? They would still have control and we would still have a reduced debt of around 12 million What then???? Do you think B Murray and King would have put 25 million into the club, NO Do you think the bank were ever going to let them invest from an unnamed investor, into the team and not pay off any of the debt, which incidentally was their proposal? Cloud cookoo land son cloud cookoo land. In fact their proposal clearly indicated to me it was time for ALL of the current board to leave

Think about this: Johnston was employed by D Murray to do one thing and one thing only....TO SELL RANGERS. He didnt even manage to do that. CMON Please think about what your bitchin about. IS the situation we are in great? No its not, however let me say this the SPL is a victim of the EPL's massive pull. If you want to blame anyone, blame the Scottish Parliament for investing nothing in the game over the last 2 decades, blame the fat cats who run Scottish football for knocking back SKY when they nothing to fall back on, even blame the banks for causing this bloody mess we are all still in financially But by God give Ally and Whyte a bloody chance to see what they can do, WE HAVE NOT EVEN KICKED A BALL IN THE SEASON YET CMON {Ed046's Note - a very good post my friend and i have stated before if Whyte did not buy our beloved club, we wouldn't of put our best players down on long term contracts and they probably would of went for diddy prices.

I can't believe the panic on this site. Last season was an interesting one. In Champs league, Man U struggled to defeat us, and we made Valencia look like an SPL team at home. Knocked out a decent team in UEFA cup before falling against a much better side. Then looked like everything was lost when Celtic started to "dominate" around mid-season in the old firm games and then Rangers came out trumps.
The squad hasn't changed much. We will miss Bartley and Weiss. However Weiss was inconsistent. Diouf was mad.

Jelavic will be available for Europe. Have one or two new players from the Spanish Leagues. Probably 2 or 3 more squad players to come.

Don't get me wrong, we won't bring in top class players, but we already have a few decent players (Macgregor, Davis, Naismith, Jelavic). I thought Whitaker was inconsistent too. He looked pretty poor against Brazil. He was probably one of the main reasons we got knocked out of UEFA cup. He's better in midfield.
Summary :we will have a squad comparable to last season.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I agree with you and personally i really DONT get where this whole Wittaker is brilliant stuff comes from. I would have sold him to Bursaspor and taken the 1mil on offer, bought a decent right back and used the now £26,000p.w. wages he is on.

Wittaker is too inconsistent. Some days he is good others he is P*sh. If you look back on our season, a lot of the goals conceded were as a result of his poor vision or passing. Its a gaping hole in our formation to have someone there who is so inconsitent and vaulnerable against better teams.

All teams that play against us use the left flank to expose him, far more than they use the right side against Papac.

1 0

We need players mate - if you think whyte will spend what was promised you are dreaming.

We will get humped this season in the CL and SPL with the squad we have. Broadfoot and Weir are rank rotten

1 1

I'm glad someone can agree with me on the Whittaker front. He's fine for playing in defence against poorer teams but gets found out against good sides. I do rate him in attack though, and he adds goals to the team.

I think we need to forget about chances of champions league for now. Inexperienced manager implementing a new system of play with some new players being added to the squad. I would think the SPL is the focus for this season. Even when we had person Advocaat and his 100 million quids worth of Dutch players they couldn't get over the group stage. I enjoyed watching them in SPL, but they were a flop in Europe. After that era, Alex McLiesh and Walter Smith achieved more with what was/is considered a poor squad. But I do believe that squad isn't as bad as made out. They have had more success than Dick's squad. And the backbone is still there.

Ok guys, lets calm down people are losing their minds over the fact we missed out on a few bosmans (dont get me wrong, i wanted danns conway and hemed to sign too) but the fact we didnt sign them does not mean we couldnt afford them The wages are there (mccgregor 26k, whitteker 20k) The players obvioslly wanted more than we thought they were worth, because i beleve that if the chance to sign a player that ally thinks will be a star player then he will pay them the 20-25k their asking for.I also beleive this will happen after the epl clubs name their 25
Apart from anything, we only need a couple of 1st team players and a few squad players, the season starts very soon and i think we (give or take a player) have the sarting 11 to deal with it, this would be mine......

gk, mccgregor
rb, whitteker
lb, papac
cb, bougherra (for now)
cb, weir or new signing
rm, ortiz
lm, wylde (until lafferty is fit then naismith will play here)
cm, davis
cm, big jig
st, naismith
st, jelavic

Rangers await the knock back from Espanyol for Raul Rodriquez.

Rangers " how much do you want for him"
Espanyol " £500k "
Rangers " Here's 400 "
Espanyol " No did you not hear us we said 500"
Rangers " Ok here's 450 and we'll throw in a gord "
(Life of brian)
Espanyol " We don't want Gord - on Smith " ..
Rangers 3 days later " Ok here you go 500"
Espanyol " cheers - Raul get on the plane "
Rangers " Ola, how does £8k a week grab you senor"
Raul " it doesn't i'm off to Leyton Orient "..

Just give them the bloody 500k and stop the feckin about or were not going to get anyone in at this rate ...

Rangers "I see your free"
Hamed "Yes i am"
Rangers "How would you like to come and view Murry Park and Ibrox?"
Hamed "Yes please"
Rangers "Here is our Elite Stadium and fantastic multi-million pound training ground..."
Hamed "Wow, this is brilliant"
Rangers "Our plans are that you will play up front with Jelavic, we were recently bought over for £1, but we do have lots of money to spend on new players, this is a new era for this amazingly famous club"
Hamed "Oh ok, sounds positive"
Rangers "Lets discuss wages...what are you looking for in terms of a package?"
Hamed "I'm not sure, probably in the region of about £20,000 p.w."
Rangers "Ohhhhhh, well, mmmmm, you see the problem is we've just given big whittaker (our best player) a deal worth about £5,000,000 for the next few years so were a bit short on the ground. How about £8,000 and you get to wear the number 9 shirt?"
Hamed "I'll think about it...(get me the f*ck outta here - he thinks to himself)
Rangers "that went well, looks like he's in the bag, better call the Daily Record"
Hamed "Nice stadium, nice training ground, some decent players and good ambition but they aint going anywhere when the give mediocre players amazing wages and expect me to play for £8,000p.w.). I wonder does Yeovil still have that offer of £20,000p.w. on the table?
Hamed "Hello, Mr McCoist? I have thought about your offer and although its really tempting, i can't accept it. I've decided to go to Yeovil instead, the weather in Scotland is too cold for me"
Rangers "Hello Daily Record? Just to confirm we have lost our main target to Yeovil, after lengthly discussions around terms, he's opted for Yeovil because the weather doesn't suit him"
McCoist "Mr Whyte, he wont come because the weathers too cold...
Mr Whyte "Ok next free target...Craig Conway, he'll come, he's on £5,000p.w. at Dundee United and its just as cold there as it is here, get him on the phone, offer him £4,000p.w. plus £100 of shopping vouchers per month. He wont turn us down..."
Conway "Get to fu*k..."

For the past few seasons we have been skint and become reliant on a few loan signings to bolster our squad.

Now we have a little money its increasingly evident agents and potential targets are wanting to squeeze out every penny from our little kitty.

McCoist has a game plan, and I'm sure once the Big guns in the EPL name their squads there will be a hefty chunk of the transfer kitty used on loan targets....

Don't be fooled by paper talk and the poisoned minds of the Timothys... WATP and 4 in a row is on ots way...
