Iam a Celtic supporter and have been on this forum and obviously Celtics for a long time.
I think the way rangers fans have been treated is a disgrace everyone knows the football whether u be blue nose green nose red nose is a big part of life in Scotland more a tradition passed on threw generation fans work hard all week hand over a lot of money to clubs in various forms to be treated the way the rangers support have is sick how large organization get away with it is beyond belief
Of course when everything started I was mocking away like the rest but now its got to the point I would do anything to see a full Ibrox a quality rangers side competing against Celtic sport is about competition without it its hee haw
A lot of friends are rangers fans and to see people I have known for 25 years no that bothered about there team due to circumstances is heart breaking even from a rivals perspective
I hope the old firm in February may re spark a love back for the club and I for one hope obviously my Celtic win but if they don't there won't be a set of supporters who deserve it more than yourselfs
A lot of people rite of rangers in this but believe me a cup is about romance and giant killings I wish you'd all the best on 01/02/15 and hope your club gets back to the giant it once was and treat the fans properly

Happygolucky. The support is still there mate, it's the way these greedy, clueless, people are trying to rip us off that's the problem, we know the football has been pathetic, but if the people trying to get control were to get control then our stadium would be full again IMHO, as we would have football people running our club, not ex bus drivers, and fat greedy persons that normally run sports shops, yes we have fallen, but we will be back, thanks for shown your concern mate.

Can't believe that Sir David Murray has voiced his concern at the stalemate between board and rival factions which is preventing much needed funds coming into the club, rather rich coming from a man who almost single handedly got us into the mire and who's idea of getting the club back on a sound financial footing was to sell to the first chancer to come along for a quid, well don't worry yourself SDM leave that to those you left behind to suffer the results of your actions. WATP

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes Soton bear, he has certainly got a brass neck and quite ironic that his comments come at the same time as the 'other' 3 murray companies cited by hmrc are to be liquidated. I wonder what these liquidations will expose.

0 0

I hope he never darkens Ibrox again. Businessman my arse

0 0

I wish he was there at the moment rather than the telegoons we have at the minute

0 0

Royalblue, The day he took charge at Ibrox was the beginning of where we are now. His ego took us on a make-believe journey that he[we] could not afford and the end result was whyte taking charge. And before we get '' it was the bank'' crap, it should be noted that they funded everything, on false promises, and got back their outlays[ with interest. ]

0 0

To Billyb and others. I know what you are saying about David Murray but don't you think it is a bit rich now having enjoyed the 9-in-a-row glory years? I doubt whether any of you or many other Rangers fans called the spending into question during these years, especially as we were winning everything in sight. Where you horrified when Gascoigne, De Boer or Laudrup signed for us? Of course with hindsight it was a short-sighted strategy but the revenue must have been coming in so what was it spent on?

0 0

Doiger. Nine in a row was a great time for every Rangers fan, it will live with me forever, but the reality of it all is Murray was spending money he didn't have, he must have known as a top businessman he is that one day it would all catch up with him. So he bailed and so the nightmare continues.

0 0

Doiger your 100% right gret players great football u were bursting to get to ibrox on a saturday I think the only way we will get back tob europe will be with arthur daly or on a bus

Every business man uses the banks money they don't actually put their hand in their pocket n pull out 6 million almost 30 years ago to buy us, they use the banks money n garuntee that money with their assets. The only problem with SDM was his empire was majority property based and he had high mortgages and the recession hit n hit hard. Them man subsidised us to the tune of around 10 million a year every year we failed to qualify for the CL, he sold us with 18 million debt which was totally manageable. Whyte then fraudulently bought us and did not have the 10 million to plug the hole as a result of failure to qualify for the CL and the wee sh@te put us in admin ect.

0 0

Agree 100% with DOIGER. No-one was questioning anything during the good times and anyone who comes on here to say that they questioned where the money was coming from I would question their honesty. We were all loving it. I also do not agree with the criticism of David Murray. He made mistakes but at least he had the interests of the club at heart and can not believe anyone would seriously question this.

0 0

Just checked bears there were 8 seasons when we did not qualify for the CL so SDM subsidised us for 10 million every year and I also remember he sold 25% to Joe Lewis for 40 million and put it straight back into the club, some difference from then n now, I'd take SDM anytime and remember it was our most successful period ever so I think we have a cheek to slag the man.

Murray invested money in the club brought very good players to the club invested in the infrastructure the fans where well and truly entertained this man done more for the club than anyone else will do in a long time at our club people say there there was debt at our club but this was being reduced he was forced to sell club by the bank putting pressure on him and he will no the rest he what's transparency like the rest of the rangers fans some people have short memoirs

0 0

N9. Kb and n10. Rm gers that's the way I see it as well,

0 0

Doiger, A lot of good points, but the key to what was happening was that there was NOT enough coming in to cover outlays. Thereby, a systematic loss was being carried forward each year and then the recession comes. In the period when he was less involved we were being operated on a sensible economic basis and it was still a pleasure to watch our team, that is until, with his problems, the bank accelerated their requirement for their cash.

0 0

At the end of the day any of the good work done by Murray has been more than matched by the awful mistake of selling to Whyte. To make matters worse he tried to tell us he was duped when it was common knowledge that the Rangers board at the time warned him about Whyte. For me Murray has been the catalyst for the disaster that we see today.

0 0

Fellow Bears. I'm going to hold my hands up here. After reading all the posts maybe I was a bit harsh with my comments about sdm, I still believe in my opinion he made a lot of mistakes, wether they were honest ones or not we will never know, because after all I went along with it all, I lapped up the 9, I will never forget the night laudrup scored at tannadice or the Gazza treble against the sheep, great days and memories that will live with me forever. I'm just angry he sold Rangers to that little S. e Whyte.

David Murray - I refuse to call him Sir.
is as big a chancer like the rest of them.
How much did he put in personally? Sweet fanny you know what.
Played with Rangers with other peoples money until he was warned by the banks etc. He stated he would never sell the club to the wrong people. As big a bullshitter as the rest. He is a major factor why we are in the shitter.

0 0

Billyb do you think mr Murray ever asked the bank if he could hand rangers fc over to the board on his watch? Cause our bent was under control as paul Murray and the board had our debt down considerably, we know em owed the bank money from mim, but surely it would have been better for scotish football to have a competitive league, with sponsors, instead of the situation as it is now for all. I know the s. f. a. and all top leagues SAY everything is fine but even darts is a more attended sport than football in our?wee country

I've taken what's happened since Murray sold on to whyte as hard as anybody but I'll tell you this I don't regret for one minute His many successful years as our chairman.

There are big clubs all over Europe who have never enjoyed such a sustained period of domestic dominance as we did under his Tenure. While I'm not in any way condoning his lack of judgment when passing the club to that basket case whyte,I'm not going to let it cloud my countless and unforgettable memories when times were good.

A huge part of being a Rangers fan is having the upper hand over Celtic and oh how they suffered under Murry. For all the bluster and bullishness that comes from that bawface chairman across the city read David Murry in his pomp! Make no mistake that's where he learned it and sees his time in charge as payback for the hurt Murry inflicted on his club.

There are obviously those who disagree but I wouldn't change it for the world. You have to take the rough with the smooth just ask your Celtic mates who as we do now, used to think it would never end.

0 0

Good point George 123, but I don't think it entered his head. However, I still state it was dm's mis-management that put us in a vulnerable state and for all the pro murray posters I ask them to justify two situations:-
i] His statement '' for every £5 celtic spend we will spend £10. ''
ii] The signing of Flo, prior to the 'tic game for such a ridiculous fee.
Please tell me this is not the actions of an astute business brain.

0 0

Aw come on George, don't take a sound bite and turn it into a mantra.
Why don't you stop going to Ibrox every second week and got to a darts match every second week?
Do you get see the problem?

15 Jan 2015 10:49:41
regarding the statement for every 5 Celtic spend we will spend 10 did you or many complain about it when we won nine in a row or had all the the good players mols numan gio amoruso albertz gough hendry gascoigne laudrup the list is endless of good buys
have a look it flo stats first season 18 goals in 30 SPL games goal on debut against celtic second scoring 22 goals in 42 games we sure could do with a striker like him now he was a tad expensive but all the others above where good buys for rangers and the list is endless when murray sold the club debts where being payed back and where reduced now look at us limping from day to day wondering what is gona happen next
u for a club to progress u have to buy better quality of player and this means u have to spend more to get better quality look at Celtics recent signing of strikers for example balde 1.8 million pukki 2.4 million scepovic 2,3 million that's 6.5 million on 3 strikers and none are scoring goals for celtic personally I would rather spend my 6.5 million on one proven goal scorer u only get what u pay for

0 0

Craigs8688, Ask yourself why these players signed and at what cost?
Yes we had great times but the simple fact is--- that is why we are in this mess. We were never in charge of the purse strings, he was.
He also destroyed the feature that was the backbone of our fan base for as long as I can remember, Rangers supporters clubs.

0 0

Styab. I have not been to a game since whyte put us in admin, never been to home or away game, so I don't see the point in your post to me.

0 0

Stab I have told people on here for three years now I ain't been to football games, I spend my Saturday afternoon on the golf course trying to get my handicap down, not with much success I hasten to add.

@redsox555 reading your posts down the page and you have certainly done your research which I applaud you for.
But your idea of a "partial boycott" (only boycott the smaller games) defeats the purpose, your board will laugh at this knowing they will still coin in money from all the fans at these so called bigger games.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Manymetaltim

It is virtually impossible to organise a complete boycott as sadly we are not totally united in my opinion. I travelled on the Kinning Park bus 30 years ago and we couldn't get a majority agreement on anything farless an issue as complicated as removing organ***d crim**ls from a boardroom orchestrated by a multimillonaire.
egomaniac.

There has to be a compromise and the money raised in the non boycotted games will not make a huge difference as they are running at such huge losses anyway.

Aside from that it will be hard enough for our team to raise its game against Hearts, Hibs and you lot without the fans abandoning them at a crucial time like the next 2 weeks.

Seriously anyone that thinks Rangers fans will desert their team in a top of league fixture after 2 years with games against the "diddy" teams and even more so the first old firm game in 3 years is insane. It is pointless trying to organise a boycott at this stage. After the celtic game if EGM has not been arranged is the time to organise total/mass boycotts.

Also in my honest opinion the board and Ashley do not give a s**t what we do they are going down a planned route to get Rangers in Ashley's hands for as little money as possible and if he can't own us due to SFA regulations he will own all our assets secured by loans and hold whomever takes over eventually to ransom.

On the game result you lot have everything to lose in this game and rookies like good yeti are mugs to start talking hat-tricks! You know that is going to get oppositions' backs up. On paper celtic 5-0 should be score but old firm game is never played on paper. I think Rangers will win after a celtic sending off 1-0 if we get breaks defence wise.

Redsox, Your penultimate paragraph says it all. As far as your tipster abilities go, I have severe doubts but I might have a bet on goodyeti to be sent off and not to score. What the hell, I'll double it with Rangers to win 1-0.

0 0

Another good post redsox555, I know exactly where your coming from, it is just so tough for us all at the moment, but fans have got to do what they believe is right be it support the team from the stands or from elsewhere, and good luck to each and everyone of them in whatever decision they have chosen. I admire your prediction on the score, I will give my prediction nearer the time. I have also Travelled with big SD on the kinning park loyal many years ago. KEEP ASHLEY OUT OF IBROX.

@redsox555 I was born in Kinning Park (Milnpark Street) one of the few tims in that area.
I bet our paths have crossed a few times and we were unaware, talking of league cup game did Bobby Madden travel on your supporters bus lol

1-0 and a sending off, surely with Bobby Madden in the middle the winning goal will be a penalty as well.

I see on a website that MacAusland has left Rangers. The youth policy continues then under McDowall.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Doiger, If this is confirmed it beggars belief. He was the only player to look comfortable in the right back position and with a bit of coaching could do a job, while finding his natural position.

0 0

MacAusland has signed for Dunfermline.

From today's Evening Times.

"WALTER SMITH has backed Ally McCoist to make a return to management - and reckons he will be stronger for the trials and tribulations of his Rangers tenure. "

Great.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - something for you all to look forward to when Rangers make their return to the top flight then! ;)

14 Jan 2015 09:58:49
He did say not in this country!
r. f

0 0

Disexpat, Walter probably liked his tactics as they were the same as deployed many a time by himself.
Walter was assisted by having some great players, that helped him through, but the tactics he deployed during the ''10 in a row'' season were a nightmare and I won't even mention our night in Manchester.
I think it is very long odds that Ally would be a successful coach/manager anywhere.

0 0

Ally can only look upwards let's face it he can't do any worse

0 0

Yes, Walter did have great players but so did his main SPL rivals like Celtic who could field the likes of de Canio and Paul McStay during his time in charge.

Ally had internationals who were being outplayed by part timers from the likes of Alloa. Therein lies the big difference.

0 0

Macoist is to football management as crippin was to medicine

0 0

Mccoist will never be a football manager in any country, he might be employed by some blind, deaf, insane nutjob but he cannot manage so would fail regardless he nearly destroyed our football team over 2 years

redsox555

0 0

Hope he goes back to question of sport because that is one place that is not better without and I am not joking.

0 0

Redsox555
Once again you let yourself down with ridiculous comments - destroyed our club over 2 season.! Get a grip, won both championships at a canter and was second in the championship prior to being undermind by a board that sold our most promising player.

0 0

Gers 09- hope Mcoist puts more effort into developing his garden, than he did with Rangers youth development, however suspect he`ll take the easy route as usual, put his feet up and get the cheque book out.

0 0

If you have spent millions on wages for SPFL premier league level players and are playing part time teams it is actually a formality to win. To then, in knowing that REFUSE to develop our best youth players in these games is in my mind what led to Rangers being the worst quality footballing side in my 50 years of watching them, that is a long time and I saw Billy Urquart and Jim Denny in Rangers strips so I know a pish footballer when I see one ;-)

mccoist was devoid of any tactical ability and his signings, substitutions and choice of player positions were all a joke.

I based my opinion on all these facts and sad as it is for a former hero, he was "Pure gash" to quote Shakespeare.

Sorry but he was also hugely responsible for the low attendances the football was the most predictable and boring again in 50 years I have followed Rangers

redsox555

ps sorry the mccoist era is over I do not mean to bring him up and won't again

0 0

Bluebeard. What team do you think he will be using the check book at next, and when, roughly

Does anyone no what the hell going on in that board room with park and co. I have heard board offering 1 seat. park want 2 seats. are park and co making conssesions to get the 2 seats?its dragging just a wee bit, I would assume king hasn't called egm while he waits to see the outcome.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Laudrup22. That's the way most of us read into it, the three bears trying to settle it all in a proper manner, I think the e. g. m. will be called for shortly if the board don't agree to the two seats requested.

If you want to boycott then boycott but you can't just say we are boycotting and then turn up for hearts and Celtic game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes you can ceeXXX it is what people will do the Hearts game is too important right now to boycott and there is not a chance in hell anyone will boycott the tims game it would sell out 10 times over if it could

Just read a Walter smith interview on ssn page. is there anything in his timing. been keeping low key for a while and surfacing to offer opinion on whether park can get the backing of the fans?? Everyone knows that's a yes so why show public support. personally I think somethings not far off the boil.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think he seems to be doing a favour for Jim Traynor whose new PR company I am guessing will be representing at least some, maybe all, of the 3 Bears.
