Some brilliant articles today from some of the fan sites and some well informed reporting from them-putting a lot of Scottish media to shame.
Rangers fans all over the world will be glad of today as our club goes on when all could have been lost.
I now look forward to good times and bad times with more hope than 12 months ago-although I know we have to be ready to state our case on all fronts every minute of the day as there are people out there living in denial with agendas that we are Rangers and always will be.

Watp simply the best

It is on days like this we should appreciate all we have got. Number 1 is the survival of our great team and be thankful to all those who made it possible. I would put Ally at the top of that list and although I have been critical of some of his tactical decisions, his part in our survival cannot be understated.
Billy B. {The Ed039's Note - I have been most critical of McCoist, as manager of the team on the pitch, but there is no doubting what he has endured in the last year and how he has carried himself (through most of it) has been nothing short of phenomenal)

20 31

Ed039 - McCoist "who are these people?" bringing death threats. ?

yup phenominal? {The Ed039's Note - Did you not see the part that says "through most of it", are you only reading and seeing the parts that you want to read and see? The same with everything he has said and done in the last year, you see that one thing from a man under severe stress and duress and it sticks out in your head over everything he has had to endure. It shows what a fickle small minded little man you are)

24 18

@3 severe stress and duress ed behave yourself, he is well paid AND has kept his job, all the sh--- that has happened to the team was a godsend to Ally
Tam

I'm not an ally fan, more of. NL fan but credit where it's due he has been the only familiar constant at your club in the last year. He's dropped a few bollo@ks but to be fair he's been under a lot of stress, and it shows. There no doubting the guys aged 10 years over the last year.

16 6

No Rangers fan can deny what McCoist did for the club during the pain of administration then liquidation however you can't base a managerial career on that. He has been proved to be a terrible manager and for the good of the club needs to be replaced. Ally must be judged on his record as a manager. Out of 7 cups against so called inferior opposition and buying some dreadful players means Ally isn't the answer as manager

20 6

@6. Inverness and dundee utd are 3 leagues above us. We weren't supposed to beat them. We aren't an SPL side by a long way. When will people realise we ain't the same quality as last season or previous seasons. We are a much weaker team on the field.

13 5

@ 7 I would say the wage bill would suggest you where suppose to beat them

12 2

@8. Here we go again with flipping wage bills. Why do the uneducated think just because a player or team earn more money than another then they instantly become favourites to win? I've watched football nearly all my life and yes over a long period or a season say then generally the most expensive team tends to win. But it doesn't necessarily mean they win every time. Think Celtic st mirren. Or Southampton man city or Liverpool west brom for recent examples. Each of the teams which won the games I mentioned will finish lower than the team they beat. So your argument is a big non starter. Cup football for example throws up all sorts of results surprises etc. I'm afraid the 7 cups argument is just an ally bashing tool for those still sick of the amount of goals he scored against their teams over the years.

4 9

Got to agree with @8. Why pay big wages and not get a good show for them?We are playing part timers and our lot are a shambles (most of the time)Money isn't flowing in and what we have should be well spent. Wages too big for ALL staff and we should be getting a better show for what we're spending.

7 1

@9 an Ally bashing tool? 7 cup defeats is FACT. Maribor and Malmo were awful and managed less than 3 points combined in the Europa league that year. Falkirk were in the division below us, We were comfortably beaten in last seasons Scottish cup by Dundee utd at HOME. Destroyed and embarrassed by Inverness & Utd this season and lost to QOS at home. If your happy with that and McCoist then you are very easily pleased or a closet Celtic fan

8 2

@9 doubt very much these comments are coming from people who were sick of McCoist scoring goals against their club. McCoist only scored goals in the Scottish league and couldn't do it in the champions league or at an International level. How many goals did he score in the champions league or at a world cup?

5 1

I certainly don't support Celtic. My beef is with the wages drivel that gets posted on here. It does not instantly mean you will win because you pay more money in wages. I didn't say I was happy with our cup performances who would be and yes the euro games were poor. But the cup games this season out with qos we were never going to win. If you expected us to win a cup or even make final this season then you my friend are deluded or insane. I could go on to list all the euro games Walter lost to poor oppo. And add m o neils basle debacle along with nellys Utrecht/ sion nightmares. (yes they were well beaten by sion but once again it was technicality fc who progressed) to show that even the most succesful managers get gunned in Europe.

0 3

Yeah and he scored hundreds. A lot against Celtic. Great times. He scored in Euro 96. Did anyone else? No. He played for Scotland not Italy. And as for Europe. He scored a few. So to bash ally the goalscorer is ridiculous. Bash his managerial record yes but when. You find a modern era goalscorer of his calibre in Scotland come back to me. Golden boot.

1 1

@14 he scored 2 goals in the champions league in 1 game against Grasshoppers at Ibrox. Good club player in Scotland but not up to the standard required to do it at the highest level

2 0

@14 Scotland have had a striking problem for the last 30 years so Ally was probably the best of a very average lot. In the time Mark Walters was at Ibrox did he not outscore McCoist in old firm games?

1 0

@15 he also scored in both legs v Leeds in 92. I don't have to defend ally mccoist the goalscorer. His goalscoring record is very good. Easily the best of his generation. @16 well done mark Walters if those stats are correct. But I bet Celtic fans wouldn't hate Walters as much as mccoist.

One year on and the obsession from our great rivals lives on. Just like our club. It makes me so happy to see all of their bitter comments, all of which stem from one thong. The hatred, bitterness, jealousy and anger that they will mever be on Rangers' level and that our club is still here.

WATP

SC93 {The Ed039's Note - One thong?)

What has happened to Jamie Ness at stoke? Felt he was nowhere near ready for epl and shouldn't have left rangers.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Rhyss mcabe was another who seems to have vanished off the footballing radar,
serves them right for bailing out in our time in need {The Ed039's Note - He has been a regular for Sheff Wed this season, he scored a screamer against Charlton just about christmas time)

2 8

Mo edu anyone? {The Ed039's Note - On loan at Bursaspor. Maybe these guys cant hit the ball high enough to fit in with Stoke City's style of rugby ...... I mean football)

3 3

Ed have you not watched allys high ball all year, mo edu is rotten. {The Ed039's Note - I have seen it mate, and I have been extremely critical of the football at times, but Stoke have got to be the worst team to watch, but fair play to Tony Pulis, he gets the job done. As for Mo Edu, anybody whon scores a 90th minute winner against Celtic has a special place in my heart, and in return he got me and most of the others in the front 2 rows in the East Enclosure on TV)

1 1

Edu was always going to be found out in the EPL and it's no surprise he didn't last long was surprised he even signed for Stoke. Ness was the same had only just broke into the Rangers first team then he deserts the club to chase a dream he wasn't near ready for. Like Wilson they have realised the enormous gulf in class between the EPL and SPL and they weren't anywhere near as good as the thought they were. The same goes for Gregg Wylde

Craig Whyte on SkyNews saying he not done anything crooked, welcomes investigation and sleeps well at night.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Well what do you think he would say? I can kind of see that he might have done nothing illegal (or nothing that can be proved to be illegal) and the club was a basket case when handed over. But come on Craigy we all know the plan was to shaft everyone from day one.

9 3

If Whyte said the sky was blue I think everyone to the last man would still look up to check but a fool he's not. whatever he did,, crooked or not,, he made himself a sh!t load of cash in the process and certain individuals afforded him carte blanche the opportunity to do so.

9 2

Yes but you all still followed followed him with wealth off the radar though didn't you! Fact is, he was put into a very difficult position by the previous owner, he had no choice but to go into administration! It was the only way he could get the creditors off his back!
Funny how you all seem to have forgotten about the creditors isn't it!

9 5

@4. he didn't have to buy rangers. He saw the state of the club so why didn't he run a mile. Any normal business man who saw the potential debt and the fact that the only way the club could balance its books was with entry and probably progression in champs league would have walked the other way. Not him he waltzed in offering huge 5 year contracts and immediately stopped paying tax. And its not his fault? Oh my fays

I see my shares (a gift ) are trading at 79. 04 pence. Somebody dumped a bloc of 25,000 at 11. 30. When's Charlie making the announcements (stadium/shirt/Murray Park sponser and kit supplier)that will boost it?

Paddy Malarkey

Believable7 Unbelievable12

You must have a very sad existance as you are never off here commenting on the rangers. obsessed is the word that springs to mind. {The Ed039's Note - I dont know what the big deal about kit and sponsorship is at the moment, it will be announced when it is announced. The stadium sponsor thing has been discussed, if it happens it happens. Whats the rush with everyone, very few teams have announced new kits and sponsorship deals so whats the big rush for Rangers?)

8 6

ED039, don't you think Green started the kit and sponsorship thing by making two announcements? I think he said it would be announced ten days after the big fans meeting, how long ago was that? Then said the deal was being signed that day while in Dubai. I do agree with you though what's the rush. {The Ed039's Note - Yeah, lets face it, his mouth is too big at times, but I cant help but like the guy, but yes he has made a rod for his own back, he should have used words like "due course" or something. I rekon it will be Sports Direct but we will see)

0 4

£75 k trade (sell) this week. {The Ed039's Note - Imagine that, traders trading in stocks, shock horror!!)

4 5

@1

I have a very happy existence; thank you for your concern.
This a Rangers banter page, the subject of banter on.?
Define "never".
Sorry I've taken so long to reply but I was out enjoying myself.
You appear to be obsessed with the word "obsessive"-I see it on a lot of untagged posts that I assume are yours.
You are never off here commenting on people commenting about Rangers (on a Rangers banter page).
And I didn't even mention St Valentine's Day.

Paddy Malarkey

So people have bought 75grand wortg sgares in rangers, why the negative spin saying there sold. they've been bought.

A partick thistles fans family investing in our team great to know its not only rangers fans buyin our shares

0 3

£75K was sold, ie to the AIM traders. no-one bought it.

There are no buyers. 8,000 shares bought in 4 weeks, 400,000 sold 50x more sellers than buyer!

So the traders on the floor standing with the shares in thier book. ?

Great wheeze, but not real market. this is how shares collapse. and take clubs with them into next admin event. look at greens history this happen 6-7 times so far.

4 2

6. to most extent in a club like rangers the share price means nothing. RFC don't own any shares. you could argue not a bad thing as RFC could buy back and cancel shares if they are a a low price. its just the fans that bought would be peed off.

0 0

6. The shares have changed hands at below mid price is tagged as a sell - shares traded at above mid-price is a buy. shares don't get sold unless someone buys. yip that buyer may or may not be a broker.

0 1

@8 in real market with liquidity, sales are matched to buys, so traders hold small percentage only, but that's not happening here.

day 1 was big buy by director 25,000 shares which sets a level, and it jumped 20p, since then 100-1 sales to buys, and price tumbled for far, on unreal market

but if director sales locked in for 6 months, who sold 100,000 in single transaction, how much did they buy at 1p or 10p. ? or 70p?

its critical to health of club, if price collapse, admin again?

@5 think you will find Paddy's daughter is a bear
