Heres a thinking outside the box name i think rangers should go for, omar al somah (the arabian zlatan ) 6 ft 4" 28 yr old syrian plays in saudi leage for al ahli he has a fantastic scoring record think this season its like 37 goals in 33 so far . he was on trial for forest before played 1 scored 1 but he couldn't sign due to a work permit so not sure how easy it would be to get him but that's the type of player we should go for i reckon he would score for fun in spl reminds me a bit like jelavic but he can hit a blinding free kick aswell.

15 Apr 2017 11:55:23
He's on an absolute fortune.

15 Apr 2017 22:43:26
Jelavic scored a few free-kicks too mate hamilton and killie away. Anyway, we need a goalscorer

15 Apr 2017 22:45:02
Regarding players coming in what's the thoughts on Scandinavian players now that JJ has arrived. Youngsters especially as JJ must have a wealth of knowledge, I'm sure that's where we picked up Atayaki from who sounds like an amazing prospect!

16 Apr 2017 09:21:49
Hope not. Rangers as a club should have no ties with any syrians Iraqis or any other nationald we've been involved in a war with.

16 Apr 2017 12:39:50
Bryan 1978 that's the most ridiculous comment I've read on here in a long time

14 Apr 2017 21:56:04
Jonathan cafu from ludogorets is a really good striker think we should table a cheeky bid for him 😁

14 Apr 2017 18:09:14
So were Barry's selling his stotry to the papers today about why he thinks he didn't get the job. Possibly this is one of the reasons, Pedro possibly noted he is always in the papers about Rangers and his previous with Another manager.
He could have kept this all quite you've not herd the other candidates go in about it.

14 Apr 2017 18:32:55
Bongo, that assumes that Pedro understood a word he was saying! One thing about Ferguson, he is deluded if he thinks he will ever be Rangers manager, he is not even in the same class as a manager as McCoist.

14 Apr 2017 19:27:06
Totally disagree I think its almost a cert Barry will manage rangers one day and I think in time he will be a success

14 Apr 2017 19:32:44
Exactly. Did you notice lovenkrands and Thomson thanked rangers for their interviews and the chance to be interviewed. Whereas Barry runs to the papers as usual to give "his side of the story". If he truly loves rangers that much why does he go to a media that hate rangers?

14 Apr 2017 19:35:57
Hard to imagine anyone being worse than McCoist

14 Apr 2017 20:53:46
U are well named 2017

14 Apr 2017 23:25:57
There will never be anyone worse than that lying money grabber McCoist.

15 Apr 2017 08:17:11
aye McCoist was in it for the cash, but who else would of really managed us? ruined their football reputation, no one really.

there are very few rangers men out there who would act like Walter, Celtic seem to have got a gem in a real Celtic man in Rodgers.

For me Graeme Soony
Andy Goram ( if he could manage)
Bazza Ferg ( In future)
Albertz

These are the types of guys I want influencing the club. Ally packed shipped to sunderland am sure when the money was there. And the gulf wasnt the same as it is now!

15 Apr 2017 09:50:58
Leaving clyde 7th in the 3rd division is garbage end off. There's no way he should be a future rangers manager.

15 Apr 2017 09:56:00
Run to the paper? he's got a column with the Daily Record and he was only saying what he said in his meeting with Pedro, hardly crime of the century

15 Apr 2017 10:12:28
JLS

All I'm saying is he could have kept it to himself and his previous did him no favours, I don't think he showed any class in this incident and believe he will be mixing it in the papers in the future cause he never got the job watch this space!

15 Apr 2017 13:57:16
Bongo

Why should he have kept it to himself? There was nothing controversial in the article and I'm at a loss as to why so many Rangers fans have such animosity to a Rangers great. Fans always want to know what's going on and then when a former player comes out and says he gets slated.

15 Apr 2017 15:27:06
What a laughable thread. a Rangers legend explained in his colum why he felt he never got the no.3 job, wished JJ well in the position and praised the managers winning attitude and some fans are jumping up n dowm. get a grip!

Also, I hope Ferguson does succeed in management and one day manages us. All you fans writing his managerial career off at the grand auld age of 39 is ridiculous!

15 Apr 2017 22:41:22
A former captain and club legend will always have my support. A stint at Clyde isn't enough to judge Barry on and anyome writing him off as a manager at the age of 39 is laughable. So he goes in the press and does a piece on why he thought he'd not been selected. big deal, talk about an overreaction gents!

16 Apr 2017 14:42:17
Bang on Bengy, i think to many fans are getting there knickers in a twist over something so trivial.

14 Apr 2017 16:41:05
According to a report in this morning's sun newspaper, rangers are hoping to sign aberdeen captain, ryan jack, on a pre-contract now, before someone else steps in! He'd be a terrific signing for us as he's a midfielder with a bit of steel about him! It's also rumoured he's a glasgow rangers fan!

14 Apr 2017 19:37:16
Didn't think he has done much in any of the games against us. Not the type of signing to make if we want to try and close the gap on Celtic. Sure we can get better than him

14 Apr 2017 23:18:54
Mcinnes came out and said ryan jack told him it isn't happening

14 Apr 2017 14:17:54
NEXT SEASON

a lot of negativity seen on here lately, YES Pedro is doing well but by no means is this the squad we will start with next season.

first of all here is who I think will be sold in the summer:

Kiernan
Forrester
O'Hallaron
Sendros
Halliday?
Garner
Waghorn? may possibly hold onto him if he impresses Pedro in the run in.

Now squad for next season I would imagine to be

GK - Fod/ Alnwick

RB - Tav (I think he posses too much of a threat going forward for Pedro to sell)
Hodson

CB - Wilson, Rashid Sumaila, Hill, Bates, Possibly another CB?

LB - Wallace, Beerman

CM/ CDM/ CB cover - Crooks - Pedro did say he will assess him at Ibrox and not whilst he is out on loan

Midfield - Holt, Rossiter, Krancjar, McKay, Ryan Jack, Weiss, Windass, Thompson (Again Pedro said he would assess him)

Up front - Miller, Dodoo, Waggy? Another striker that can actually score?

back up then from u20 team including - Houston, Hardie, Burt, Atakayi, Jefferies

Thoughts?

and before all the keyboard managers come out, yes I know king said there is funds available for Pedro but this try and be realistic here!

14 Apr 2017 14:23:41
A new CB is a must, Ryan jack would be a great signing for midfield. It looks like we will be going forward with a 4-2-3-1 formation, Garner will be useful upfront in that formation. Caixinha has his work cut out, decent players are needed to close the gap and do well in europe, and we don't have a very long time to bring in those players and let them settle.

14 Apr 2017 14:32:55
I would be happy with that and a decent striker like you said.

A decent striker and a set up that suits him could have turned those ten draws into wins and we would be sitting a bit higher in the table.

Even if funds are available, I would prefer to get a team that can compete for the title as cheaply as possible.

I read that Celtic will be given a £15m transfer budget to mount a decent challenge in Europe next season, if that is the case then we would fold ourselves trying to out buy them!

14 Apr 2017 14:42:43
A fully fit Kranjcar, Rossiter and Weiss in the one team is mouth watering if you think of the possibilities!

14 Apr 2017 15:07:29
Ryan Jack would be a welcome addition as would a fit Jordan Rossiter! I would like to see a quality centre back brought in, a no nonsense, strong defensively big strong ball winner, possibly from South America.

I would also like to see a quality attacking midfield player since I doubt that Krancjar will be able to play every week, a quality striker and a quality winger.

Would be happy to see Kiernan, Forrester, O'Halloran, Sendros, Halliday, Gardner leave and wouldn't't be adverse to seeing McKay and Hodson sold if we can get a decent price for them and then bring in some real quality to replace them.
Garner

14 Apr 2017 19:39:40
TOMUSA

If we managed to get rid of the players you said how much do you think we would get for them? I would also try and punt the useless Waghorn

14 Apr 2017 22:05:43
Sorry but bates is a bomb scare looks a nervous wreck. we need to bring a better defender than him. a fear the worst against Celtic if bates starts. but beerman looks a quality left back full of confidence hope he keeps his place ahead of Wallace.

14 Apr 2017 23:14:07
TOMUSA, Although I always thought MOH would star for us, I agree he has to go, and as for the others listed I totally agree. Also, there is definitely no place for McKay.

However, I would add Waghorn to the list, and would not lose sleep over Tavernier.
every time I mention his name I have a vision of hibs first goal in last year's final.
A fit Rossiter, a Rhodes type and a player like Weiss are essential to our cause. I could go on, but realism must take over.

Ideally, we could raise £7-8 million in transfer fees, supplemented by £2-3 million from our season ticket money, and that would start the process, but it is essential that we get a merchandising deal and investment in place, and until we get shot of dk, that won't happen.

14 Apr 2017 23:29:40
Can see us bringing in 3 loan deals this season along with 2-3 players who's contracts are up leaving Caixinha to spend the remainder of Transfer Funds on at least 2 players in the 2m bracket. Also regarding any loan players coming in I would hope that they are not too young poss players at top teams who need games.

This is wishful thinking but there must be players out there who are not 19-22 that want to play but are at a team like Chelsea Liverpool etc that are solid players. The one thing I notice about our squad is that we lack a physical presence through the team! With the emergance of some youth coming through the need for experiance and strength is a must. Look at our midfield if Rossiter does come back he will need someone, a commanding CM.

When it comes to wingers we do not have any! As I think Forrester O'halloran AND McKay will go! I really hope Atayaki gets his chance and Pedro brings in a wingers WITH a left foot! Atayaki is FAST and imo I think wingers need speed and the technical ability to take on players before worrying about their physical presence.

Think we will see O'halloran head back to St. Johnstone at a huge loss and a pay off. Halliday and Kiernan to Lge One Waghorn to Leeds Tavs to Forrest maybe. Forrester and McKay Championship. Hopefully Leipzig will come in for McKay as this Club have a few bob and seem to buy younger players and can afford to take a gamble. To be brutally honest I think that getting players out will be very difficult and have an impact on any future deals to bring players in.

15 Apr 2017 09:52:08
Get rid of hodson aswell. A wage we don't need.

14 Apr 2017 12:33:25
What are our chances of signing the lad Jack from Aberdeen,?

14 Apr 2017 13:12:40
He's out of contract so money won't be the issue. Would think his wages would be OK too. Some in the media suggesting he's a bluenose so there's got to be a chance. Don't think he'd want to come as a squad player though. Given where he plays if he did join would that men Pedro reckons neither Rossi ter nor Crooks are going to make the grade?

14 Apr 2017 14:08:31
The only reason rossister won't make the grade is if he can't get fit other than that he would be taking the defensive midfield slot i would think

14 Apr 2017 14:34:41
I would rather have Jack than Crooks to be honest, hopefully Rossiter gets back to fitness soon and we could see a great midfield next season.

14 Apr 2017 20:18:05
Hopefully he leathers Garner when he signs 😂

14 Apr 2017 20:23:21
Ryan jack would be a regular starter at ibrox i pressume. Pedro seems to favour 4-2-3-1 and with the players we're being linked with kind of gives the impression he'll go for that

14 Apr 2017 22:34:00
He won't sign so we can forget about him

15 Apr 2017 22:46:20
I would love to see us revert back to a solid 4-4-2 or a 4-1-3-2. I think having 2 sitting in front of the back 4 is too defensive. Caixinha knows what he is doing and I really like the guy comes across as someone u do not want to get on the wrong side of and hope he has a relationship with the players that make the want to run through brick walls.

Warbs may have had that but lost it, If Caixinha had been there instead of Warbs the Barton issue would have been dealt with differently massively! At the end of the day I just want to see us playing with 2 up front and a midfield that can pass killer balls FORWARD either through the middle or seeing our wingers taking players on AND beating them. I know its not going to happen 100% of the time but we want to see the lads going for it.

14 Apr 2017 09:17:52
What has happened to Harry Forrester? Is he injured or just not getting a game or making the bench?

14 Apr 2017 13:04:04
Not injured-was in the squad training pics on the club website yesterday. Probably not doing enough to impress Pedro in training. Harry has not really done anything when given the chance this season. Reckon he'll be punted to some average English lower league side in the summer and he'll be no great loss.

14 Apr 2017 23:21:30
Can see players like Kiernan Forrester Halliday O'halloran going to other SPFL teams or lower English Championship teams Lge One in deals which combine a transfer fee plus a player in deals like this I would think the players coming in would be relatively young around 20 yrs this is a huge worry as I keep reading about fans opinions on who should be sold but think its going to be difficult.

Think that the money we will get will be low PLUS if a player has 1-2 yrs left on contract we may have to pay them off to a certain extent. If O'halloran is on 7k a week and is offered 3-4k a week he will not go unless we negotiate a deal to pay how much he would lose out on earning at Ibrox its disgusting but think its a very real situation we will have to go through with the majority of the players. Thoughts Bears do you think that this is a possibility?

14 Apr 2017 01:03:12
Pretty sure Harris vuckić contract runs out soon, was some player for us and certainly knows how to find the back of the net.

14 Apr 2017 11:14:12
Why do people still go on about this guy?! He was DECENT in the championship. Pretty sure the club will aim to get better players than vuckic in.

14 Apr 2017 12:54:36
Don't understand why people want Weiss back either

14 Apr 2017 13:24:31
Why no weiss he's head n shoulders above anybody we have he's still cutting it at international level so playing in the far east isn't harming his footballing level too much why wouldn't you want this guy back no brainer in my eyes

14 Apr 2017 14:11:59
The Weiss I remember hardly really done anything great he's a hero since he left because of his comments about Celtic

14 Apr 2017 15:10:55
Weiss will remain a legend so long as he doesn't sign for us. If he does then I fear that a lot of us would be disappointed. There are some good quality players in Portugal and in Mexico; I am just hoping that Pedro has a few of them earmarked for Ibrox for next season!

14 Apr 2017 16:40:00
He did do well for us in the championship Andy but I don't think overall he is what we need to take us forward, he is not good enough in my personal opinion there's better players than him out there and hopefully Pedro can unearth 2 or 3 gems for us

14 Apr 2017 16:45:17
Don't look back, no where good enough now.

14 Apr 2017 23:16:33
He was decent in the scottish championship and nothing else. Really not what we need.

15 Apr 2017 09:47:26
Weiss played in a rangers team that was miles ahead of this team and the current celtic team lol!

15 Apr 2017 09:48:34
Weiss is a cracking player and would smash the SPFL. He would come but just like 90% of the players who we want and who would like to come its wages. Yhink any money raised from the transfer of glamour will be divided up to Paul off 4-5 players we want out the door anything between 50-150k depending on how long left on contract and difference between the money now on and the drop their going to take!
