just reading about gutierres winning his claim against Newcastle. sooner we are away from the heartless owner of that club the better. can't imagine us doing that to one of our own. no matter what.

14 Apr 2016 21:22:55
I know the guy is a scumbag we need to get rid. To gauge how heartless he is just think what most clubs and fans do they go into overdrive benefit games fund raising not just inside your own club as we have seen in the past with guys like Jimmy Johnston, petrov, Hartson and our own Fernando ricksen rivals put bitterness to one side to help out and no matter what. One of the most heart rendering things when davie Cooper died was celtic supporters laying down their scarves at ibrox the same when Tommy burns died rangers fans going straight to Parkhead to pay their respects because to matter what these people mean something they are the ones fans turn out to see, but Ashley doesn't care the man is a pig he is like Maggie thatcher back from the dead, get back in the coffin Maggie and do us all a favour!

14 Apr 2016 21:49:26
Great post Gary75, we all like our team to win and beat our rivals but sometimes the football needs to take a back seat when tragedy happens. Not only Ashley but padrew and the Newcastle board as well should be ashamed. They supporters deserve better as to me they are the most passionate outside of old firm.

14 Apr 2016 22:28:26
Here, here lance armstrong, I've been saying on these pages continually for weeks that the newcastle fans deserve much better as they imo undoubtedly are the 2nd best set of fans in the world and my club the famous glasgow rangers have the best fans in the world, also on the serious note all decent supporters and football clubs in general should always have massive respect for the passing of any player no matter what colour or religion they are!

15 Apr 2016 08:37:09
Let's not get into this self proclaimed nonsense, leave that to the jealous mob.

14 Apr 2016 16:46:16
At the gym earlier today, a random lad noticed me in my Rangers rig; starts chatting and invites me to the pub on Sunday!

Had to to say no but it's still nice to meet other supporters down in Oxfordshire.

Unfortunately he never had any solution to the Forrester drama!

I'm going for a 2-1 win, Miller and Tav to score. Brown sent off for being himself.

14 Apr 2016 18:24:33
playing hard to catch. Rafbob. or did you just not fancy him.

14 Apr 2016 18:47:51
I am a married man bluebeard. Haha.

14 Apr 2016 15:22:25
Could be it is written in the stars that Rangers last match in the lower leagues is a Scottish Cup Final victory.

14 Apr 2016 15:00:49
Every team that's mentioned doesn't seem to include Gedion Zelalem.

I remember how excited the club was about him joining.

Possible Warburton can put Halliday on the left as a bit of defensive cover and put Zelalem in midfield?

Anyone think he can do a job in this one?

14 Apr 2016 15:20:05
Like many others I feel it's too physical a match for him.

14 Apr 2016 15:21:42
I think Halliday will play wide yes but don't know about who will be in the middle.

Zelalem would just get bullied I think. To be honest, it doesn't matter who goes in there, Law, Shiels, Zelalem, they are all not up to standard and I honestly don't think we have much chance with our injuries and cup tied players.

14 Apr 2016 15:39:19
if he's scared of tackles in the championship then what use is he against them?

14 Apr 2016 15:40:36
Zelalem brings something different. It was only a couple of months ago he was named man of the match in a game between the USA vs Brazil under 23 teams. That's got to be pretty telling about his ability and style of play.

14 Apr 2016 15:42:28
Let ball and halliday do the donkey work and let zelalem play football! Just because he's lightweight he might get bullied well it's up to him to step up and play and hopefully he will of he plays.

14 Apr 2016 15:48:40
Unless we have a strong unbiased referee Brown will kick everything that moves and get off with it and if they play Kazim Richards he will be out to make from the kick off as is his normal game.

As it stands the absence of Forrester is an issue because he would have taken them on but we would still have had the issue that we are not a physical side and that was always going to be the case. Whether we play Zelalem, Law or Shiels is irrelevant, I agree that Zelalem is not strong enough, but then this game just might be the making of him.

Law is a coward and goes missing in big games and is also too slow. He might've the ability but he sure as damn it hasn't shown it since he has been at Rangers. I wouldn't trust him in this game. As for Shiels, he is a big guy but I don't see him mixing it with them. Might be OK to have on the bench.

Personally I would be tempted to move Halliday on to the wing but then we have the issue of a Holding Midfield player, or we move our right back into a midfield role, but then we are short in defence although Ball could be deployed at full back.

At the end of the day we will need to trust in Warburton to make the right decision and live in hope that we will have a strong referee so we can see a good football match even though that will be difficult on the Hampden surface.

14 Apr 2016 16:44:02
One things for sure it will be interesting to see who he plays and how he plays them. This Rangers team has picked itself all season.

14 Apr 2016 18:06:56
Might be worth a shout moving Tav to right midfield and putting Ball at right back.

15 Apr 2016 08:41:04
Zelalem might not be the most physical player but technically he is excellent and can hold onto a ball, doesn't waste much. I think he could do a job in this game as he will get more space and time on the ball and bring other players into the game.

15 Apr 2016 21:20:50
Maybe when he first came he showed a bit more care on the ball, but whenever I've watched him in his last few outings, all he did was take a fancy touch then give it away in dangerous positions. He has been careless in possession and he is lightweight.

Maybe he will become a good player but he certainly isn't one just now.

14 Apr 2016 14:53:56
My team to play Celtic on Sunday:

Foderingham

Tavernier Kiernan Wilson Wallace

Ball

Holt Law

McKay Miller Halliday

Wouldn't risk Waghorn could do some serious damage. Would also consider playing Halliday in midfield and Law further forward, his energy could be important in stopping their full backs.

14 Apr 2016 15:23:49
The only question is Law, other than that, that has to be the team out of necessity more than any other reason. Got a felling he might go with Shiels over Law, seems to prefer him.

14 Apr 2016 21:25:09
This could be the starting 11 but 4-4-2
Holt Ball Law and Halliday in midfield.

14 Apr 2016 14:09:59
Has anyone wondered how Celtic will take being defeated on Sunday?

Can you imagine how they'll react?

It would be like we beat them to the title.

What a season it has been regardless of the result though.

One game against Celtic compared to an entire season of success. Has been brilliant and there is a lot of promise for the future.

14 Apr 2016 15:18:32
No need to worry about that because ain't going to happen! And there seems to be a hell of a lot of posters on here coming out with it doesn't matter if we beat Celtic because we've had a great season, or it's not this game that matters it's next seasons games against the champs! Seems to me that reality has set in and the excuses are starting already! Nobody will be in doubt about the pecking order in scottish football by 1:45pm Sunday afternoon!

14 Apr 2016 15:42:29
You have to admit though it would be a severe blow when we get the win.

The Premiership title will mean sweet nothing if we win on Sunday.

It will take a while for the green and white side of Glasgow to get over it.

Doubt it would take as long for our side to get over it. Think that's the point posters are making.

Celtic will never live it down if they get beat by a team that just won the division below them. Just saying there will be very few Celtic fans on Rangers forums come the final whistle on Sunday if we pick up the win.

14 Apr 2016 15:44:17
When did dunderheid come back out the woodwork? Just you focus on getting behind your team, well griffiths.

14 Apr 2016 15:59:10
Thorn: They'll probably be on to say there goal frame was slightly wider than ours!

14 Apr 2016 18:14:39
Dunder heid. I think it's called being realistic. We've always said if we get injuries we'd struggle with the smaller squad. I still think we can win but wouldn't be a disaster if we didn't. It would be a catastrophe for you lot if you lose. If we'd has MOH, Waggy, King and Forrester I'd have been very confident. Now I'm just confident!

14 Apr 2016 13:04:55
For me there the upcoming old firm game has been built up too much- personally I think the old firm games next season when we are back in the top flight are more important. Would be fantastic if we beat them but it's not the end of the world if we lose, just as long as it's not a heavy defeat.

MW himself has said everything is geared up to next season and the club will no doubt sign a number of higher quality players in the summer. So even if we lose we can take heart in the fact the next time we face them we will be much stronger.

All that being said I have a sneaky feeling that Nicky Clark is going to score the winner- provided he's not injured as well. I'm not his biggest fan (and I wouldn't give him a new deal) but I just have a feeling he's going to do it. 2-1 to us Nicky Clark winner will be my bet at bookies.

Like all old firm games the first goal is key and will set the pattern of the game.

Hopefully Celtic do what they have on all their big games this season-play poorly.

14 Apr 2016 13:33:35
That's a fair assessment luigi. I personally would like to see Law get a shout as I feel (Although not the most gifted) can bring a bit of composure and can dictate the pace of a game. Should be a good gauge as to the level we are at and areas that will need strengthening.

14 Apr 2016 14:28:05
Have to disagree with you on this one. Old firm games are for winning.

Ill agree with your point Nicky Clark with a new deal hasn't done enough and just doesn't have the quality in my opinion. He does try hard but i'm sure if everyone that posted on this sight was given a Rangers deal we would try hard. that's the minimum you need to have the quality.

I would bring in Shiels into the team inplace of Forrester.

14 Apr 2016 14:43:45
M. W, is playing the game down as sure he will have been
told what it means to the supporters yes will be gutted if
we loose but am not expecting us to win
across the city if they loose it may well cost their manager his job so its a bigger game for them.

14 Apr 2016 20:39:39
Another Bear. I agree, Shiels has performed well against them on countless occasions, albeit for Killie and Hibs, and I think he has to get the nod. Wasn't he once touted for SPL player of the year? A very competent player who just might be the key on Sunday.

14 Apr 2016 12:52:09
Can anyone tell me what the travel advice advice is likely to be for sunday? I've never been to Hampden but assuming there will be specific paths you must follow due to segregation? I been waiting for it on the official site but nothing so far.

14 Apr 2016 13:34:52
Aye gram, if you see a sea of green and white, stay clear and you'll be fine!

14 Apr 2016 14:26:13
If you plan on getting the train out to hampden from the center then rangers supporters should get of at the mount florida stop.

14 Apr 2016 20:45:22
Gram avoid Prospecthill Road and Aitkenhead Road and use Cathcart Road from the city centre. Worst place to come from is the Rutherglen area as you are better heading up to Kings Park Avenue. There are great Rangers pubs in Rutherglen but your best bet for a pint after the game would be the 116 or 20 clubs or the bowling clubs, if you are heading that way.

14 Apr 2016 11:09:48
Just wanted your views on the idea of making the semi finals of the scottish cup a two leg affair. As the pitch at our national stadium is a disgrace and an embarrassment. I would rather see a two leg semi, as many competitions do at that stage, than watch 4 teams playing for a massive prize of a pitch that looks like that.

14 Apr 2016 12:10:57
Pitch has been relayed for the semi finals.

14 Apr 2016 09:33:52
Get Tav up forward on the right of the front 3, ball in at right back, law halliday holt 3 graters in the middle to boot the sh*t out of scott brown.

Tav can run at the wee Tierney guy all day, hopefully give him a torrid time since he seems to be considered as Scotlands Roberto Carlos the way that they go on.

Plus menas we won't have to worry about Tav defending against the manks as it is not his strong point.

Mix it up a little, means they will not be able just to map out our usual team,

Canny believe, Waggy, Forrester OHal are all out, what a front 3 that is on its own never mind sitting in the stands, that will tear selik apart next year!

14 Apr 2016 10:53:28
Billy King is another who could have slotted in. God knows who is going to appear on the bench. Hoping that Waggy might just make this? Trying to put a positive spin on things with Harry out I would be looking to stiffen up the midfield with Shiels who has played against them many times. Maybe the slight change will stifle the supply to their attackers. My team would be along the lines of Fod, Tav, Danny, Rob, Lee, Ball, Shiels, Holt, Halliday, Miller and McKay. Wouldn't be too unhappy to see Law in there although he is too often brushed off the ball for my liking. The likes of Ball and especially Halliday will need to keep a grip of themselves as peanut heid will be doing all he can to bait them. Would be a hoot if he ends up getting sent off. On the downside Griffiths has rediscovered his scoring touch and the young lad Roberts looks a good player. In the end if we win it will be fantastic, but if not, then so what, we have achieved the main objective. We will regroup and strengthen in the summer ready for a tilt at the title next season.

14 Apr 2016 11:34:48
Why not indeed. Tav could defo play upfront and would IMO play that position well. Over to you Magic Hat man!

14 Apr 2016 09:29:53
Line Up Sunday

Fod

Ball Kiernan Wilson Wallace

Law
Holt Halliday

Tav Miller McKay.

14 Apr 2016 10:01:54
Would love MW to play this line up on Sunday.
Fod

Ball Kieran Wilson

Tav Law Halliday Wallace

Holt McKay
Miller.

14 Apr 2016 14:29:43
I'd say:

Fod

Tav, Kiernan, Wilson, Wallace

Halliday, Ball, (Zelalem or Law)

Holt, Miller, Mackay

Would be great to have waghorn back in the squad.

14 Apr 2016 14:47:43
hope zalaemm is no where near the star he is not up to these type of games.

14 Apr 2016 07:54:27
In light of Harry Forresters injury and the lack of options to replace him does anyone know how Mekhi Leacock Mcleod has been playing for the reserves? If he's been doing well does anyone else think we should throw him in on Sunday? He could be a secret weapon, Celtic won't know anything about him. Could work but could also be a disaster, I've no idea what level or standard he is at.

14 Apr 2016 08:16:13
Quick question fellow bears was Hardie's loan at Raith extended to end of season?

With 'arry now being injured, (and I seriously doubt warbs will risk aggravating waggys injury) would Hardie be a possible option up front, even from the bench?

The lad offers something different as a tall, quick
CF and has been playing and a scoring regularly for Raith which is more than can be said for Clark who I just don't rate am afraid - any thoughts?

14 Apr 2016 08:33:02
I actually forgot about Leacock McLeod, he could do a number for us. Warbs rated him enough to bring him to us, also he is a natural winger.

14 Apr 2016 09:19:15
I think holt will go wide with zelalem ball and halliday in midfield.

14 Apr 2016 09:19:15
Leacock McLeod is probably the only natural winger if Warbs wants to play him.
If Waghorn is not fit to play its most likely Law or Shiels will start.
Does anyone know if we can recall any players out on loan namely Walsh or Hardie?

14 Apr 2016 09:33:08
Cee -Zelalem is too lightweight, and Law offers us better options offensively and defensively.

14 Apr 2016 10:18:28
Janes addiction. can any of the under 20s come in? They have failed to score or win in the last 4 games. i wouldn't think that would instill confidence for playing against the east enders.

14 Apr 2016 10:22:59
Copland1. I don't know which Law you've been watching the last three years, but if its the same one as me he offers nothing defensively at all. Always ball watching and never anywhere near an oposition player. if he could find the same space in attack that he seems to find himself in when he's supposed to be deffending then he'd be dangerous. The only reason I could see for playing him is because we are short on numbers and he has premier league experience.

14 Apr 2016 13:02:18
The thought of either Law or Shiels starting horrifies me. Law goes missing in important matches and Shiels is a big girl.

We need speed, fight and aggression. Even if Forrester had been fit we would not have had the aggression because we have been lacking in a Hurlock, Brown, Souness type all season.

For me, we just have to hope that Warburton gets his tactics right, that every man in a blue jersey is up for it and that we have a strong referee that clamps down quickly on the type of thuggery that has been evident in the Celtic ranks for years.

13 Apr 2016 23:28:20
With the likely hood of both waghorn and forrester being out is it really a bad thing? Halliday played as a left mid before so he could do us a job out on the left which would be quite a decent thing considering he is a more defensive player aswell. However 2nd option would be to put clark on instead, he is fast which would cause most of celtics defensive quite an issue. Just food for thought.

14 Apr 2016 04:06:20
Yes it is a bad thing.

14 Apr 2016 08:32:07
McDermid it actually isn't such a bad thing. It means we can change things up a little which would catch Celtic out.

14 Apr 2016 09:08:58
it is a bad thing, who are you kidding Onlyshowaround. Any player who is normally in your starting 11 being ruled out is a bad thing. No cover there. I think he will either have to throw waghorn in or play the young lad zalelem who I think will be out of his depth.

14 Apr 2016 09:20:16
I don't think I'm kidding anyone, Halliday can play left winger and is more defensive, to me that isn't a bad thing.

14 Apr 2016 09:20:28
It is really bad to have lost our two main goal scoring threats waghorn and forrester, Miller as much as he tries doesn't have much ability, he never has, and if McKay has an off game we might not pose any threat up top.
