Has everyone else missed something here or is it just me?! Charles green said that he told Whyte what he wanted to hear to get his shares, but he was recorded saying, 'you are Rangers'! The only reason Rangers was brought into existence was because the CVA failed, therefore whytes shares were irrelevant! So how could have it been to sweeten him up for his shares if they were already a waste of space?!

Believable23 Unbelievable4

Green recorded saying "you are Rangers" not rangers!!

source please. mine is the sun with the green recordings from whyte

3 3

Because when he was "sweetening" up Whyte, the CVA had not yet been rejected. He needed his shares to launch a CVA.

11 3

@2. The last thing Green needed was a CVA. Liquidation was always the plan. A CVA, if he really wanted it, could have been achieved. Fire sale of the players and a massive reduction of the wage bill. HMRC would have accepted a payment structure over x amount of years. This does not suit corporate raiders like Green.

17 4

My mistake he said 'you are Rangers' to Whyte, but by time Rangers was created whytes shares were not needed! So why was he even talking to him afterwards?! Unless this was before CVA failed and that was the plan all along! I want to believe and trust the club but that one point sticks out for me

4 1

Didn't he actually say " you're Rangers "?

0 1

Think he actually said "you are Rangers"

Who thinks the vote will be called of tomorrow to try and bribe the other clubs cause this this needs to happen to keep Doncaster and Reagan in a job they are only care about themselfs when they should be sacked look at the state of our game it's a total disgrace we are a laughing stock we are no better than the welsh or Irish league

Believable8 Unbelievable20

Its Lawwell that's behind it he runs Scottish Football, but nobody says anything about it

28 31

Vote will go ahead, its the horsetrading from small clubs that will win consessions.

very interesting week for reconstruction process and rangers shares/accounts

great semifinals. 14 goals, young talent. wow maybe not armageddon yet

19 10

@1: not paranoid much, are you? Does your belief that he does annoy you?

19 5

@1 You are obsessed with Lawwell. Same as Celtic were the only club to 'do us down'. You over estimate their influence as they did Ranger's influence. Let's not blame each other and get things sorted for the best for Scottish football

21 6

Roy MacGreggor will not repeat be bullied by Peter Lawell. He is IN control of a industrial empire far outwith Lawells control, MacGregor has involved himself with Ross County for 30 years involving his father before him, he is a man not to be bullied, that doesn't bode well with Lawell who likes to control Scottish Football as we have watched with repeated disgust

11 18

@1 Stop reading leggat, mcmurdo and graham. These guys backed whyte and they backed green. Real fans are needed now not self servers.

20 2

@1 yeh all Celtic an Peters fault, they put Craigy and Chuckles up to it. If you put as much energy into sorting these pair of clowns out instead of blaming others, you wouldn't be staring down the barrel of another Admin event or even greater sanctions.

15 6

@1 & 5. Do you lie awake at night worrying about Lawwell? This is ridiculous.

15 7

How exactly does Peter Lawwell control Scottish Football and how do Celtic benefit from the new set up?

15 7

I don't suppose it's occurred to you that PL's interests, Scottish football and rangers are all one in the same. Be honest, look at his background and success in running a profitable Celtic, who would you really rather have? CHUCKIE or PL. ?
And if you think CHUCKIE that my bear friends is exactly why you are in the mess you are

9 2

If Lawwell ran Scottish football like he runs his club, maybe the game here would be in a much better state than it is.

Life long Arsenal fan gunner tel. just like to say congratulations on winning the title, and the sooner you are back in the spl the better. The way you have been treated is terrible, and we would quite happily have a club of your stature in the prem league. Good luck for the future. UP THE GERS

Believable32 Unbelievable32

Could you update if green has spoken about he buying back of the arsenal shares

7 3

Uhhm. How do you by back shares in Arsenal?? Look at its ownership structure, No Person sells shares in Arsenal - only Whyte. Private company, shares are traded, not bought.

5 1

Arsenal shares at this time!

The fact that the Rangers board have commissioned an independent enquiry shows that they are unable to get at the truth themselves.
This is worrying and is an indictment that they appear unable to hold the management of the club to account.

Believable25 Unbelievable4

Or it could be that they want an "independent" person to decide so the board are not seen to be sticking the knife into the guy that saved the club.

3 13

The media will now wait for the 'independant' commission to exonerate Green and then drip feed more of the Whyte revelations thus causing maximum embarrassment to the Rangers board. It's a no win situation.

See Lawell is coming out with a new line today. For weeks we have been told that the only offer on the table is 12-12-18. He is now saying that the SFL clubs can make it a 12-12-10-10 set up. That would seem to satisfy the promotion issue. It is clear that div one clubs want the deal as they will benefit most. It seems the rest of SFL clubs in div 2 and 3 are not so keen. So maybe if 12-12-10-10 is an option then that seems to keep most happy.

It may come down to Ross County and Kilmarnock.

As a Rangers fan I feel we should get promotion so if 12-12-10-10 is an option, I would be ok with that.

What are the feelings bears?

Forgetting about our team for a minute, could anyone explain the benefits of 12-12-18. I have tried to look at the possible benefits to Scottish football and cannot see any. Investment is needed, I agree, but would you buy into a third rate league, even with the re-jig?
Lawwell and his allies are trying to force it through, but why?
Surely this is something that the major investors in the game should have the say and who invests more than the punter. After all, the various club chairmen hid behind their fans with ' sporting integrity ' so why their insistence on forcing the new set-up through?
billyb.

Believable12 Unbelievable14

Its not rocket science mate. First division teams will earn around x7 of what they do now. The middle eights games will all be meaningful and there will be more chance of promotion. don't condemn it because lawwell is there that's just sad.

21 10

Explanation of 12-12-18 benefits:

unlike current layout where div 3 won in april, div 2 won in april, spl about to be won. far more likely last games will have more signifincae and excitment.

8-8-8 no more 1 club up, 1 down boring same old teams year in year out

now 4 teams up, 4 teams down, but this does no kill the 4 teams dropping as good chance they can play in the middle 8 win some games and recover.

so smaller teams can mount challenges to the rangers/celtic domination where either won 70% of all championships

also spl last 8 games crucial and end of season helicopter sunday could be every other season, not once in 10 years

10 14

If you disagree with @2 at least say why.

3 6

I will provide an answer if you look a the 3 countries who had this 8 split the youth systems crashed, and they plunged down the world rankings. We are already doing that, clubs will be scared of ending up in the bottom 4 after 22 games will play negative football with older players to ensure safety. When the countries binned it the youth systems started to flourish again and they have risen up the rankings. We take to long in this country to address the youth problem, Germany had one bad world cup (failed to get to last 8) and reorganised their youth system immediatley look at the results. We just blow hot air and like moaning. Get kids playing small sided games, stop adults swearing and shouting from the sidelines and encourage techinical ability not how tall u are and how far u can kick a ball. Barca are a small team and it works for them

With everyone saying the board should have Charles Green out, there's a slight flaw in that plan. Charles Green bought the assets of the club for roughly £5 million. This includes the stadium. So, although Green doesn't own the club outright, and we could still boot Green out, he would still own the stadium, and would have no reason to let us play in it. Also, keep in mind Green hasn't been found guilty of anything by anyone yet.

Believable6 Unbelievable20

The doubts will always remain now for me, all this means is Green will cut and run as soon as he can that is certain. Les

12 4

Don't be ridiculous. Green bought it, he then had a share issue, therefore he owns 8%. The club own the stadium, not Green. He can be removed as CEO but will still own 8%

13 14

@2 the ipo prospectus clearly said rifc have use of stadium, but could not see deeds to confirm ownership.

so green could own deeds, and therefore could leave with shareholders owning a shell company

this is how green and whyte stuff investors. they don't it across many companies. so many times. and yet you guys thing. oh they won't do it to rangers.

whyte conned ticketus out of £18million - will there be sfa punishment for a football club being involved in this action?

green go £22million for Rangers scotland float - but what exactly does it own? Will rangers get punished as a team if the ipo was illegal?

rangers gets punished if the team benefit from the actions of thier CEO - one avoided £18m loan repayment, while other has yet to provide audited account.

while rangers sites complain about media campaign - green and whyte deal in million pounds scams.

14 3

All of these issues should have been sorted before the rushed through share issue, it could end up you've bought shares in a worthless club, who rents ground from an other.

8 1

Green has not been proved guilty

3 6

It would appear that Whyte still owns the stadium & Murray park.
The share IPO said we have the use of Ibrox & Murray park. If green had bought them would the IPO not have said we own & not use.
looks as if bomber was right all along

14 Apr 2013 16:09:39
A few ifs here if the enquiry finds green has nothing to answer but the doubts remain and it comes to vote of share holders we still don't know who bluepitch holdings are or who has been given shares at knock down prices

It never ceases to amaze me that grown men & woman, who are clever & think for themselves, can believe this mans cr@p.

12 1

@OP: what attacks are you referring to? And are you not concerned that Green is damaging the club with his particular brand of standing up for the club? Indeed, is he standing up for the club or cynically doing what he thinks he has to to keep fans onside and money coming in?

10 1

Man u only want us in the EPL because we are teaming up wiv the Dallas Cowboys, and they want a piece of the action.

Skyebear just read your post and after weeks of dithering I've decided not to renew and I've hardly missed a game in 63 years. I think your post is a set-up and us fans are being messed about with. Green now reminds me of Richard Nixon - " Iam not a crook, I have never been a crook. "

Just a thought for the people who doubt McCoist, look at the first old firm game from last season (4-2) I watched it back today and I was impressed by the quality, give him a chance to sign decent players! WATP

Believable12 Unbelievable27

McCoist was just the 'new' Manager then and this Rangers team had just completed the League & League Cup double.

By the time McCoist was really finished with them, they had given up a 15 point lead, booted out of every competition and only managed a 3-2 win over a 9 man Celtic at Ibrox. Rangers won hee haw the season you speak of!

Do use Administration as an excuse, Hearts players did not receive wages and were in just as much turmoil yet won the Scottish Cup 5-1!

23 4

As I think that charles green has not got Rangers best interests at heart, the last thing we need now is anyone who just wants a job as manager. we need Rangers men in every position of the club right now. charles greens best interest right now is money and charles green. Les

5 5

And what about the rest of the season? Why not watch the cup defeat by United last season with most of the same players. Or do you just base your opinions on games against Celtic?

10 3

Million miles from those heady heights, still lost a massive lead in title before point deduction, quicker you realise he and his back room staff ain't good enough the quicker you move on to playing the big teams!

14 2

Walter Smiths tactics were described as anti football, McCoists tactics, such as they are, are based on this but without Smiths knowledge and experience. How can we possibly win anything of any value playing this way? (not counting trophies won against part timers this only devalues our history) where do you honestly think we would finish in the current SPL playing like this even after McCoist "brings in more bodies"?

6 0

The 15 points is not true celtic had 2 games in hand

3 8

@6: but it was 15 points - games in hand don't count as points, do they?

7 2

@6 two games in hand doesn't mean 6pts so he still lost a 15 pt lead.

7 1

9) suppose it was Ally's fault that Celtic won their games in hand. It suits the Ally bashers but realistically it was nine points.

4 6

@9 doesn't matter how you spin it, it was a 15pt gap, end of.

Dear Fellow Bears.

The decision to launch an independent enquiry is an excellent decision - and the only real decision - which could have been made yesterday.

1. Firstly, too many supporters assume Green should be fired because of the allegations brought by Whyte. The Rangers acquisition last year was a legally complex deal. No one on the Rangers PLC board has the legal and corporate law background to expertly review all documentation and "legal language" used to fully determine the assets purchase last year. It is not as simple as asking Green to show the title deeds. it is the complex paper trail which lays behind the deed itself that has to be examined.

2. If and let's hope I am wrong - but if it is uncovered Green and Whyte were in cahoots to buy Rangets assets from D&P, we could face unthinkable repercussions from the SFA. I think one reason the Board have commissioned this independent review may be an attempt to pre-empt such action being taken by the SFA and in part to perhaps distance Rangers PLC (Malcolm Murray and the non-execs) from Green. it would still be a long shot but may just be enough to appease the SFA especially as Murray unlike Green to this day has been the only Rangers official to apologise publicly for the debacle of last year.

3. The fans - and many on here - all demand clarity. Too many want to be judge, jury and executioner but lack the evidence. I believe this investigation will once and for all give the fans absolute clarity. We may not like what comes out but I think it is the only way to get the truth out in the open once and for all!

We need to be patient. And stop the snyde remarks against Walter Smith. I understand it is Walter and Malcolm Murray who are driving this investigation and taking the fight to Green. They do care so for for God's sake cut those two men some slack and trust they are on our side!

SPM

Believable10 Unbelievable13

Not for me mate. You are fudging the issue. The deeds question can be easily answered, just show them to the board, they can then assure the fans that all is in order. Yes there will no doubt be a complexly worded legal document, but that does not alter the fact of who's name is on the deeds.

For me it is pretty obvious that Green and Whyte were linked. This is, as you say, possibly the most serious part of this. D & P entered into an agreement with Rangers5088, the model that included Whyte and his partner. If, as Green has claimed, he moved the assets to Rangers Scotland there is trouble ahead. Firstly, he never obtained permission from his partners in Rangers5088 to do this. Secondly, the whole sale may be cancelled because D & P had agreed to sell to Rangers5088 but Rangers Scotland wound up with the assets.

Then there is the licence, who was this granted to? If Rangers5088, it may be cancelled as Whyte was a part of this company, he should not have been. If Rangers Scotland the same situation as the sale arises, Green never informed his partners in Rangers5088 he had gained a licence.

As for appeasing the SFA with an enquiry, not a chance. This is way too serious and UEFA will have to be informed. This could all end very badly.

9 3

"No one on the Rangers PLC board has the legal and corporate law background to expertly review all documentation ".

what they on the board for then. getting paid £200,000 or more.

if they don't understand simple - law.

DIRECTORS GO TO JAIL IF THEY don't FOLLOW THE RULES.

its simple.

7 2

There ain't anything simple about the law mate
Tam

2 3

If there is simple reason that Green with agreement with D&P to buy assets exclusively as Rangers 5088, switched to buy them as Rangers Scotland. why not just say.

Green could have said yes I stuffed whyte and here is the contract/reason why D&P did it. why string out the lies instead, never met whyte, met him once, did not make him director, ok signed doc but it was only if x happened, etc etc etc

Why green digging whole for himself, if he stuffed whyte but not fans simply say so.

3 1

Poster 1, you make some good points but appear to be confused on some of the basic facts. There never was a Rangers 5088 or a Rangers Scotland, they were Rangers 5088 and Rangers Scotland. The correct identification of these entities is important in determining where the ownership and assets have gone.

2 2

They had a directors meeting yesterday;so surely the title deeds were shown, so why is nobody saying we seen them and everything is fine. silence tells you it is not or they would be shouting it out loud and clear. gary

I keep hearing everyone radio reporters, television critics, supporters groups reps and even rangers club officials saying that "Whyte is a proven liar" like this is some sort of defence for Charles Green. Mr Green is a stranger to the truth himself, it takes one to know one. He must go now, there is no smoke without fire. The documents that STV produced look real, Whyte is a professional in this field there is no way he would try and forge these doocuments. Things are murkier now than they were last year at this time.

Believable24 Unbelievable3

Agreed m8 more questions than answers although I applaud the commission looking into cg but the board had time to think about who wld be on it and how long it shd take each passing day has potential to get worse not better. Also if cg is being investigated why is he not suspended from the club to protect whatever evidence is at ibrox?

change of topic for a moment. RECONSTRUCTION OF LEAGUES. I hear all the talk about the divisions can't be too big so as to avoid meaningless games, splits in leagues to avaid meaningless games, fans WANTING bigger leagues and MANAGERS stating that the problem in bringing kids through - as nationally its recognised all clubs and national team needs, is that its too cut-throat and must win games. Am I missing something? bigger leagues and no splits = fans listened to and greater variety in opposition, a wider spread of wealth, less pressure on Managers for results, greater opportunity to bring young players through and through time better prepared/experience in our national team - wake up and smell the coffee Doncaster & Reagan - And ONE body responsible - a revamped SFA

Believable12 Unbelievable11

Notice that Peter Lawwell now wants to talk to the Ross County chairman before tomorrows vote to try and persuade him to have a change of mind on his voting opinion, this follows on from Aberdeens earlier comments regarding a no vote from County, surely this should be up to each club as they see it to cast a vote without pressure from fellow league members, the fans have made it quite clear they don't want this form of change, but yet it seems to me the bigger clubs have their own agenda and it going to happen regardless, waste of time having a vote really, especially if if your been bullied into ticking the correct box.
AJM.

9 14

At@1 why are you worrying about something you don't have a say in, let them f it up themselves remember charles green sold rangers soul for the footballing licence and only got an associate one at that

15 2

@2)I am worried about the future of Scottish Football as a whole and at no point did I mention Rangers, so why bring them into it the have no say in the matter.
AJM.

3 3

Ross County fans have threatened to boycot season ticket sales if the club chairman votes in favour of reconstruction. Why is lewidwell sticking his neb into RCFC buisness. Rangers have no voting rights so how would he deal with us trying to influence him. Aye right.

1 6

Lawwell is a devious man who has meetings behind closed doors behind peoples back

9 11

You people really ought to give it a rest with the lawwell stuff. its pathetic

11 2

@4&5 not as bad as Green sticking his neb into st mirrens nose and also bribing sfl clubs with a guarantee of x amount of ticket money.

Briggs

9 2

@5: pot and kettle? Murray, Whyte and Green haven't been devious at all, have they?

And who is Lawwell trying to do the best for: himself or his club? What about Desmond's role in Celtic: does he try to further himself personally with his input or his club? Now ask the same about Murray, Whyte and Green.

14 0

@7 Where is there any evidence of Green sticking his nose into St Mirrens descision. Mr Gilmour had already been qoted in the mass media of his intentions. Liewell was quick to point out last year that FANS were given the opertunty to get Rangers out. Why this year is he not listening. Tch smples peoples he is still desperate to keep RFC out. Thomson at DUFC to his credit has already told Liewell he is sick to death of it all.

2 6

@9: can you - others never do - justify the Liewell tag?

As a Rangers fan, surely you should be having a go at your own owners and CEOs over the last few years as they've been the ones lying to fans - the evidence is there for all to see (Casino, warchests, admin, EBTs not being used, adidas, Dallas Cowboys, Man United wanting Rangers in the EPL. )

12 1

Its common knowledge that lawwell is behind all this pathetic reconstruction the fans will not go for it

1 8

You celtic fans are sick that scotlands biggest club is still here and 55 and counting get used to it green eyes

2 9

@11: common knowledge? Evidence please?

@12: biggest club because of? One season in the third division?

4 2

Biggest club because they are the biggest club, quite simple. They are not in 3rd div due to failure on the pitch, some schemers did that to us. The club is and always will be the biggest club in Scotland though, look it up. Good luck, xx.

0 0

@14: depends how you judge 'big'. You're happy with your explanation but others may cite the need for Europe and financial success as important too. In that case, your club really isn't that big at the moment.

Asked whether the supporters are now turning away from Green, McCoist said: "I don't sense that they are turning away from anything or anybody.
"But I do sense, quite rightly, that they are getting a little bit frustrated that the whole thing isn't out in the open, that the truth isn't there for everybody to see - especially the Rangers supporters.
"They deserve the truth. They deserve to know what's been happening behind the scenes at their club.
"I do detect a greater frustration from within them and I do understand it and, I take it a step further, I agree with it"

Not turning away from anybody!!
A little bit frustrated!!!
They deserve the truth!!
He understands!!
He agrees!!!

He is deluding himself, a large and ever growing number of us are turning away from McCoist and Green, we are not a little bit frustrated we are disgusted that such people have gained control of our club, if he truly understands and agrees (which he blatanty doesn't with regard his own performance) he would stand down.

Also what's all this "I don't sense" and "I sense from within" rubbish? how are we meant to take him seriously the man has lost all credibility in my eyes.

If this latest piece of drum beating from McCoist doesn't convince the undecided fans to oust him I fear we will suffer another season the same as the last 2 (5 if you count Smiths reign) of dreadful players playing inept tactics badly.

Believable40 Unbelievable14

Hanging on by his fingernails!
I expected better of a Rangers legend. It would seem that money poisons even the best of them. He's clearly not the man I thought he was and I shake my head with pity as he blackens his name further with every misguided comment.

29 11

It's very hard to not like Ally. But he is doing his best to make it easier.

'The fans deserve the truth?'

Well why didn't Ally give us the truth just before administration when he still backed Craig Whyte. Why don't we get to hear his thoughts on Bomber's warning? Why was he still talking about the 10M warchest only days ago?

Because he wants to keep his big fat salary and bonus and he doesn't want to rock the boat.

18 5

The man is deluded! - he still cannot see what we see - ie poor football throughout the season, -- only reason he's still there is that he has shares and knows the truth!- time for him to man up and stop being a yeas man to CG, like he was to CW!

14 3

@2 and what was "Bombers"warning again?. still waiting on that one. If "Bomber"instead of ranting outside Ibrox knew anything about Green don't you think he should have told us and let us make our own minds up?Stop your retaric Ally should do this Ally should do that Naw Bomber should have.

7 5

14 Apr 2013 17:17:04
#4 Bomber couldn't repeat what Charles Green told him as he thought Green would be hunted down for it remember Green had just recently been given a death threat by a fan so obviously legally somebody like Donald Findlay must have advised him not to reveal Green's words. And Bomber told the fans that we needed to see the names of the deeds. Simples
