Mark allen is leaving rangers for family reasons and to explore other opportunities.
A big loss imo, as he's been instrumental in rebuilding everything behind the scenes at the HTC. He was also the main driving force in bringing steven gerrard in as our manager. He's implemented his great ideas into our youth academy. He will be a hard guy to replace.

13 Sep 2019 20:29:53
Sounds like he’s received a better offer elsewhere 🇬🇧.

13 Sep 2019 21:24:46
True story will come out very soon I expect and from the outside it appears to be a loss to the club.

13 Sep 2019 21:27:35
One thing for sure is that Stevie will be able to attract an able replacement . The worst thing bark did was take us down the very scary road leading to McInnes . all was very much redeemed in Steven G right enough.

13 Sep 2019 21:28:38
Ps mark will be doubling his money somewhere.

13 Sep 2019 21:37:12
Off to Manchester United.

13 Sep 2019 21:40:36
He will be missed he was instrumental lot of signings.

13 Sep 2019 21:46:36
Has anyone any ideas/ opinions on who could replace mark allen as the new director of football at rangers? ED what's your take mate? Who do you reckon we should go for and would be a good choice to replace mark allen?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea who would make a good DoF for Rangers. It really depends on the direction the club wish to take. Someone with connections in the lower leagues down south? Or someone who can source cheap talent abroad? In which case which kind of area? Probably worth a look at whoever runs Midtjylland's recruitment team, they seem to unearth gems.}

13 Sep 2019 22:07:42
Stewart Webber would be a great replacement.

13 Sep 2019 22:17:18
I personally would hope we go back and try and prise ross wilson away from southampton, to replace mark allen as our director of football. Like you John25,i'm hearing mark allen is possibly going to man utd.

13 Sep 2019 22:33:41
I’m not so sure within the club that this will be seen as a big loss or a surprise. As I said above some truths may come to light.

13 Sep 2019 23:09:50
There's no question its a loss scotty123.He's been very influential in restructuring our club behind the scenes, as well as building up our scouting network. Our board have continually stated they prefer the model of director of football,
manager, assistant manager, first team coach etc. Our board will appoint a new director of football,
to replace mark allen and will quite rightly take their time to do so.
From a personal view i would want us to appoint ross wilson.

14 Sep 2019 09:54:03
Am sure the club will find a replacement easily enough. Am grateful enough for what he did for the club but its not the end of the world, him leaving.

14 Sep 2019 09:57:50
Supercoop, I agree Ross Wilson would be a good replacement. Think we approached him last time round and he preferred to remain at Southampton.

14 Sep 2019 10:29:37
well said loyal. if its money then there is only so much he or we can do except remark on the excellent job he has done. major signing needed to replace him.

14 Sep 2019 10:48:35
did Southampton not promote and offer more money to him at the time to make that decision easier. however the reangers set up now compared to a few years ago and having SG to work with may sway him to come home.

14 Sep 2019 11:43:31
This has been coming for a while. Not everything is as it seems from the outside. He will be replaced and not missed by all within .

14 Sep 2019 13:37:51
We should be going for someone with a track record of unearthing gems from unfashionable markets.

13 Sep 2019 18:42:26
Just read what Broonie said in the daily star and although i loath the guy for 90mins+. I totaly admire his approche concerning the 15yr old. I also totaly agree with Novo comments regarding the sick so called celtic fan.

13 Sep 2019 16:51:43
Hello Bellow Bears,

Just found out my cousin and his kids got tickets for Euro games. I've been banned from G51, seems l'm not a very good lucky charm, although l was at the 7-1 pumping of Well.
Anyway he also got tickets for his mate who is not a S/T holder, seems a bit pricey or am l just behind the times?

13 Sep 2019 16:43:40
We will all no doubt agree what was said to Scott Brown by that boy was absolutely horrible. I am in no way defending what he said. The whole punishment and witch hunt of the boy doesn't sit comfortably with me though. A lot of people are forgetting that the lad is a child after all. Therefore, a 5 year ban and a face to face apology would've been a more appropriate punishment. A life time ban for a child saying something in a moment of sheer stupidity seems a bit much. There are fans of both sides who have served life for murdering someone from the other side after an oldfirm derby. They are now out moving on with their life and now, going to games etc. Yet this boy will never be allowed through the doors of Ibrox again. I am happy to see justice being served for Broony. But where is the justice in life time bans for 15 year old children? Am I being too soft in my old age?

13 Sep 2019 16:54:11
If it was an adult a lifetime ban would be fair enough. But for a 15 year old seems harsh. We all did stupid stuff when we were 15.

13 Sep 2019 17:04:11
Too soft in your old age pal. Who has these thoughts let alone says them? It’s disgusting. 15 is old enough to know.

I’d like to say education is the answer but maybe it’s deeper rooted. One can only imagine what his parents are like.

The ban is appropriate and hopefully one day, he can reflect on what he’s missing out tonight on and use the free time to contribute something positive. Wishful thinking I’m certain.

13 Sep 2019 17:28:25
You would think nobody had ever made a mistake before ✌️.

13 Sep 2019 17:59:01
I think this one strike and your out method is OTT, we all make mistakes, but the punishment should be appropriate to the crime. Stupid and offensive thing to say, several year ban and move on.

13 Sep 2019 18:25:21
Would have liked Rangers to try and educate the boy and make an example of him. Yes he was in the wrong but we live in a country where we can get redemption for any crime. This should be no different if the lad would be willing. Maybe a better way of dealing with kids of a similar ilk.

13 Sep 2019 21:22:52
Lifetime ban sits fine with me. iv said b4, there’s a line that just shouldn’t be crossed. i genuinely hope this sets an example and that the club continues to ban absolute morons that spout this kind of rubbish.15 or not, I’m pleased that he’s banned.

14 Sep 2019 07:11:06
People can and should be allowed to change. A lifetime ban is excessive. The law allows people to rehabilitate but football fans are not?

14 Sep 2019 09:56:39
have to agree with Gersdaft, think he's spot on.

13 Sep 2019 15:09:58
I urge all us bears to report an absolutely disgraceful sick disgusting post relating to Fernando Ricksen given the press reaction to Scott Brown as bad as that was, this is worse I've reported to both our main newspapers here, I'd urge you to do the same
It's on Instagram
ED. Not sure if you'll allow this but I implore you to let it on the forum this low life needs exposed.

13 Sep 2019 15:37:22
Here here.

13 Sep 2019 16:22:11
Sorry blue your wasting your time it won’t get the publicity it deserves! When Davis was mocked about his mum dying of cancer during his first stint it wasn’t even reported on even though there was a video of it happening at parkhead.

13 Sep 2019 18:33:31
As a celtic fan, if anyone has said anything like you're suggesting, no matter what team they support, I'd support action taken against them. Footballers personal lives and struggles are just that, personal and what football team they played for should not come in to it. I wish Fernando ricksen all the best fighting this horrible illness.

13 Sep 2019 19:02:43
Thanks robdoc you're spot on to think what he said? but to then post it I despair at times I really do.

13 Sep 2019 09:53:43
Great to see Gerrard stick up for Rangers and Scottish Football.
Bowyer clamped in today’s papers. 👍
And a dig at Clarke and SFA over the treatment of Ryan Jack whilst away with Scotland 👍.

13 Sep 2019 10:12:47
100% agree.

13 Sep 2019 10:16:32
Good to see him sticking up for Scottish football and Rangers, don’t like us having dogs at the SFA though.
If indeed RJ is carrying an injury why did Rangers release him for duty? Or why didn’t RJ highlight this and either pull out the squad or reduce his workload.
I have a feeling this isn’t all the SFAs fault.

{Ed001's Note - the club have to release players for international duty.}

13 Sep 2019 10:53:05
Cheers Ed. I though this was a decision based on the player and the club. I didn’t know the player had to be released.
Even still why didn’t RJ mention this injury to anyone or pull out the squad at the clubs request?

{Ed001's Note - the Scotland staff are aware of his ongoing knee problem but they decided to make him go on the run anyway. If you are a player who wants to play for your country, you either do as you are told or you don't play.}

13 Sep 2019 11:15:05
So that take me back to my original point. Why didn’t RJ say not taking part in the run due to his knee? People are giving the SFA a hard time here, sure RJ has to shoulder some blame.

{Ed001's Note - because he is a fringe player who wants to make himself a first choice player. It is a bit like when you are going for promotion at work, you get asked to do a bit of overtime and you know it is going to annoy your partner when you are home late, but you really want that promotion. He wants to be a regular Scotland starter and he needs to show willing to do so. The question is why is a fitness coach at international level asking a player to do a lengthy run just 2 days after playing 90 minutes? He should be doing recovery work. Scotland's fitness and conditioning coach obviously has no idea what he is doing and should be immediately relieved of his duties if he doesn't even know the basics.}

13 Sep 2019 12:16:12
Ed, you’ve obviously never met my wife!

That’s a fair point about the fitness coach but I still can’t see RJ being completely honest about his condition. If he was then surely as you say the fitness guys would have him do recovery work.

{Ed001's Note - it doesn't matter what Jack says or does, a coach is meant to be the one who assesses a player's condition, player's will always say they are fine. The coaches had the information, they are just crap at their job.}

13 Sep 2019 12:44:57
Jeezo it’s the big bad rangers player it’s at fault for injuring himself if it was up to me no rangers fc player would be going to play for the (republic) of Scotland end of.

13 Sep 2019 12:55:29
Gerrard stated jack has an ongoing knee condition which he has to manage, stevie says the sfa are fully aware of it so there's no1 to blame bar the incompetent employees of the sfa, amateurish at best.

13 Sep 2019 13:16:41
So Ryan Jack can’t turn round and say “hold on, my knee is playing up a bit. I think it’s best if I do some recovery work”.

13 Sep 2019 16:18:50
Forrest did one session due to injury that got him subbed in rangers game.

13 Sep 2019 17:16:57
The treatment a jack lol we are 4 games in? If he can’t do a run then a worry for him long term fitness wise.

13 Sep 2019 17:48:33
If Ryan Jack had not had any adverse reaction to the run and got a game in a scotland shirt at the weekend, would you all still be having this reaction.
He reacted badly to training. It could have happened the day after he returned to rangers, would you all be saying the coaching staff at rangers were amatuers.

13 Sep 2019 20:27:52
@johny - it happened whilst he was under the duty of care of the Scotland set up so your point is null and void. 👍.

14 Sep 2019 10:27:42
Don't know what it means by having a knee condition managed, if I was Jack I would look after my own welfare, and not put my mobility, after my football career is finished, at risk, by having a condition managed instead of having it cured,

14 Sep 2019 10:28:24
well said ed. bang on the money. quite disturbing when you think about it.

13 Sep 2019 09:36:40
Well Stevie G put wee Bowyer in his place straight boot in the plums outstanding! 😂.

13 Sep 2019 07:44:57
I read a very good article by ian durrant yesterday, regarding us signing ryan kent.
I agree with everything durranty said regarding kent. He stated that although £7million is a lot of money to rangers, in the long run it will most definitely be money well spent! He went on to say that if kent continues to get even better than he already is just now, then there's no doubt rangers will sell kent for a massive sum of money, a few years down the line.

Although kent is our 2nd most expensive signing ever, I agree with durrant that we will make a very big profit, when the time does come to sell kent! I personally reckon if he continues to improve we could fetch the biggest transfer fee for a scottish club selling a player. I truly think more than the £25million that celtic got from arsenal, for kieran tierney. Its only my opinion but for a winger with the skill and ability of kent, we could be looking at something in the region of £30million!

What do all other bears reckon regarding this?

Ed, could you please do a poll for me regarding what our supporters reckon kent could be sold for in the future, if he kicks on, the way we all know he can? The poll would be, how much would rangers eventually get for selling ryan kent, ie. £5million-£10million, £10million-£15million, £15million-£20million,
£20million-£25million, £25million-£30million,
£30million upwards?

Thanks Ed, would be much appreciated mate!

{Ed033's Note -

Ryan Kent worth poll

13 Sep 2019 10:18:39
Hard to say Coop.

A good season he could go for £10m
An excellent season it could be £15m
3 excellent seasons in a row it could be £20m

Really only time will tell, it’s down to Ryan Kent and where he wants to be in 10 years time. Hopefully he’ll eother stay at us for years to come or go and make us mega profit.

13 Sep 2019 13:07:49
It is irrelevant. We have overpaid for Kent on all known form. That is why there wasn't a queue trying to buy him. I like Kent but this is his level at the moment.

13 Sep 2019 13:34:07
@slimjim - Brugges, a CL level team wanted to buy him.
He chose Rangers. That will do for me. 👍.

13 Sep 2019 14:05:59
Overpaid for Kent the destroyer of all things smellie . you havin a laugh he is like a very potent undiluted bottle of freebreeze . worth weight in gold . opens up games for others.

13 Sep 2019 16:15:57
we can just see if he gets better and enjoy him while he is here.
