Rangers have launched partnership with Lauren Jones Paralympic tennis star.
Well done RFC, and good luck young lady.

13 Jul 2020 20:31:31
John25, well said, good decision by the club. Must say the non playing side of club appears more aligned and professional than it has for a long time.

13 Jul 2020 20:38:15
Defo, the lady is a Castore ambassador who does support the gers because of Grahame Murty.
Murty first supported Lauren when she had an accident and he was at reading.
It will be great to welcome her on to the pitch at ibrox.

13 Jul 2020 23:56:16
A brave young women with an inspirational story. Would love to see her at a home game, a full Ibrox would give her a great reception.

13 Jul 2020 19:46:37
New strip and training kit gets better looking every time I see it.

13 Jul 2020 18:56:35
Has anyone heard anything about the virtual season tickets i bought my season ticket last month and seen that 2 friendly's will be on rangers tv so does anyone know how to access the virtual season ticket.

13 Jul 2020 19:24:28
Our four games are also all on premier sports sm1. Our games this thursday and saturday against lyon and nice as well as our games at ibrox against motherwell next wednesday and against coventry city a week this saturday.

13 Jul 2020 20:17:38
SGL think u r wrong about Motherwell and Coventry games. RTV say they have exclusive rights and will be showing them to season ticket holders free, also to RTV subscribers.

13 Jul 2020 20:54:51
John come on now our SGL is never wrong about anything lol.

13 Jul 2020 20:58:18
I'm not wrong John25 check it out for yourself. Premier sports have both rangers friendlies against motherwell and coventry city respectively! I'll wait on you getting back to me pal! šŸ‘.

13 Jul 2020 21:21:27
I'll say the same to yourself KJA9 as i said to John25. Check it out for yourself and we'll see who's wrong and who's correct my friend! šŸ¤”.

13 Jul 2020 21:24:54
I've got RTV and my understanding is that RTV are exclusively showing the motherwell and coventry city friendlies to RTV subscribers outside the uk!

13 Jul 2020 21:32:42
SGL is correct Premier Sports are showing all 4 friendly games.

13 Jul 2020 21:37:32
Thank you Biff316!šŸ‘Œ.

13 Jul 2020 22:05:21
SGL go look rangers tv who say they have exclusive rights to Motherwell and Coventry.
So if premier saying shoe it. Rangers tv lying.
Why pay premier if RTV giving it free to fans.

13 Jul 2020 22:07:06
Remember we can all make mistakes, except u. Oh wait a minute u saw tapia in Holland run all over our midfield.

13 Jul 2020 22:38:20
Don't be nasty in defeat John25, it happens to the best of us pal! šŸ˜‚
Please put your petted lip away! šŸ˜‚.

13 Jul 2020 22:43:28
All games are on premier sports, itā€™s on their website.

13 Jul 2020 23:02:58
Cheers posso.

13 Jul 2020 23:06:50
SGL, whereā€™s the ā€œnah nah nah nahā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚.

14 Jul 2020 00:01:34
Ashley supposedly had exclusive rights to our strips and some people were on here wetting their nappies .
Exclusive is just a marketing ploy like a sale sign nowadays . me thinks.

13 Jul 2020 23:51:58
I havenā€™t heard anything sm1. However I did receive MyGers pack last week. Iā€™m sure Rangers will inform us in good time.

13 Jul 2020 23:53:23
Coops is correct. Premier sports advertising all 4 games.

13 Jul 2020 23:54:52
I've got both RTV and premier sports anyway mate. I knew yesterday that premier sports were showing all four of our friendly games. It was also advertised in some newspapers this morning!

14 Jul 2020 00:19:22
So kj anyhow sgl was saying rtv outside uk like usa i believe.

14 Jul 2020 01:07:06
So do you need to have mygers to get the virtual season ticket or just the season ticket or have they just not released any info on it yet.

14 Jul 2020 09:24:49
Coop, it sounds like you have a firestick like meāœŒļøšŸ‡¬šŸ‡§.

14 Jul 2020 09:43:56
PREMIER SPORTS SHOWING ALL GAMES!

14 Jul 2020 11:47:02
Iā€™ll be watching both friendlies on rangers tv so I donā€™t care.

13 Jul 2020 17:56:02
I'll share a strikers name with my fellow bears here who i think at 31 years old would be a superb signing for us and is a free agent at the end of this month. This big guy would destroy defenders up here in our league. He's currently with zenit st. petersburg and is a 6 foot 5 powerhouse.
He goes by the name of dzyuba, what do we think fellow bears?

13 Jul 2020 18:12:57
Tasty player. Not a patch on dykes, shankland or cosgrove.

13 Jul 2020 18:14:51
Never heard of him but Iā€™ll take a look šŸ‘€.

13 Jul 2020 18:29:16
Yes. Good shout.

13 Jul 2020 18:30:59
If we had any chance of signing him it would be a no brainer! Brilliant target man.

Him and Morelos upfront in an attacking 3-5-2!

13 Jul 2020 18:39:40
Reading up on him sgl he said scotland were hatchet men last autumn when scotland played russia don't think he will fancy getting booted about in the spfl but aye cracking player.

13 Jul 2020 18:56:24
Highland bear top top player. With him we would win league.

13 Jul 2020 18:58:58
Is that the big guy who played against Scotland for Russia?

If so he is a handful. Would love to see how the Ā£50m man from the dark side would handle him and Alfredo.

13 Jul 2020 19:54:23
He not touted to be on something crazy like 80 grand a week there.? can't see much chance of it, he's a top player.

13 Jul 2020 20:35:21
Wages around Ā£60k apparently. Which is a lot but he's a proper player.

13 Jul 2020 21:50:12
Big guy is a tremendous player but cannot see him signing for us, with the main reason being the money the home grown players get paid in Russia.

Iā€™m sure the Russian league brought in a restricted foreigner rule so they pay top, top money to their best homegrown talent to keep them due to only being able to field 5 foreigners.

13 Jul 2020 22:13:03
Correct fruit bear at least SGL identified a quality player worthy of a gers top.
U r right think he would be miles out of our reach.
However better tan reading about dykes cosgrove shankland et al.

13 Jul 2020 22:38:32
John, thereā€™s no doubt about it that talented players will be available. Now that other leagues are finishing you will see guys becoming available that of a better standard than Cosgroves etc.

If I had the option to sign Dykes, I would bring him in to add to what we have already. Donā€™t know for certain how he would do but thereā€™s just something about him I like as a player. Cosgrove would be a massive no for me and Shankland is completely unproven at the SPL level. This is not the season for taking a gamble.

IF (as it seems quite likely) Morelos was to leave, then you couldnā€™t replace him with Dykes, Dykes would be a good addition to the strikers we have but if Alfie goes you would think a marquee signing would be required to replace him.

13 Jul 2020 22:52:38
Hes definitely not signing.

13 Jul 2020 22:59:07
i haven't seen anything that says that Morelos is leaving. its as much a rumour as all these other players linked to us are#.

13 Jul 2020 23:07:11
U r probably right. Fruit bear. I just donā€™t think SG will change our style to play a guy like dykes.
Also dykes has no flair for Europe
Any sleep time off to Turnberry tomorrow.

13 Jul 2020 16:13:44
Hi

We all know that Rangers should have won the league cup and we dominated Celtic in most games we played against them especially at their own ground.

If we do that again this time around and breakdown the park the bus teams,
cant see us failing to get the 55.

The refereeing decisions Celtic got against us were laughable, hand ball and offside goals.

This will be Gerrard's year.

13 Jul 2020 17:34:36
G MAN your posts are laughable. Its all irrelevant. We won nothing! If SG wins the league he will be a hero. If not he's bye bye.

13 Jul 2020 17:47:21
Firstly let me state of course we all want the league title first and foremost! But if gerrard doesn't win the league and for the record i think he will, i don't agree with you As1974 that it will be bye bye gerrard, if he wins something i think gerrard will remain rangers manager!
He has to win silverware though!

13 Jul 2020 18:18:01
SGL. No way, even if he wins a cup. So you let Celtic get 3 titles in a row and you'd give SG another season? Seriously? Would you have gave Warburton more time? Or Caxhina? Come on man.

13 Jul 2020 18:20:26
We wonā€™t sack gerrard.

13 Jul 2020 18:25:28
I disagree SGL if Gerrard doesnā€™t win the league this year he will most definitely not survive as Rangers manager, any decent manager in the world could finish second in the spl at our club and heā€™s no longer a rookie this will be his 3rd full season heā€™s not been up against a stellar Celtic team by any stretch of the imagination so for me if he canā€™t get it right this year he probably never will. I do however believe that he will do it this yearšŸ’ŖšŸ¼ and stay for a crack at the champions league the following.

13 Jul 2020 18:26:59
If he doesnā€™t win the league he needs to go, if it was any other manager he would have been gone by now itā€™s just because itā€™s SG.

13 Jul 2020 18:27:33
He has to win the league, 3 seasons incharge without a league title would be a failure. šŸ‘.

13 Jul 2020 18:32:56
I agree Bye bye. As for winning the league cup, we didnā€™t even get to the final! You need to get to the final before you have any chance of winning it.

13 Jul 2020 18:48:24
Coldo agree. But we canā€™t rip up the model every three years.
If we replace him first patter is give new manager year or two to build his team.
Last time Celtic watched nine was tough. Then ore souness Aberdeen dominated.
We need to keep following th strategy we r on.
Best thing is academy is progressing. We canā€™t rip all that up.
When did we have academy players we could lend to clubs in top league ie mccrorie, kelly Middleton
As hard as it is we must keep following that pathway.
Although not popular I said that would do 12.

13 Jul 2020 18:48:58
Zikos r u on drugs. We were in the final.

13 Jul 2020 19:06:47
I agree John the academy model must not be ripped up, a new tactical model for the first team would be a good place to start. šŸ‘.

13 Jul 2020 19:29:30
I totally agree with John25 and his post on what the situation would be.
I also don't think gerrard will be sacked if he doesn't win the league but wins silverware.

13 Jul 2020 19:32:39
I don't see Gerrard being sacked even if we don't win the league next season. There are a number of reasons for this. Who would take over from Gerard? It is highly unlikely that we would get a top manager so we would end up with someone like McInnes! Add to that the fact that Gerard has had to rebuild a team pretty much from scratch and with one hand tied behind his back financially. Yes we paid Ā£7m, (reputedly), for Kent, but in general we have gone for lower priced youngsters with potential or for good quality 'Bosmans' and he has done a very good job in conjunction with his DoF to recruit good quality youngsters and develop the Academy. Should we fail to win the league and stop 10 then Gerard might walk although that would be admitting defeat and that is not in Gerard's vocabulary. In such circumstances we would face similar problems in recruiting a better manager. No one of any substance is going to take on a Team that needs radical surgery without a significant transfer kitty. Like everyone else I want Gerard to win the league this coming season but I also want to see him given the financial support to recruit the three first team players he needs to give him a better chance of success. For me he has done well up til now, especially in Europe but our team still lacks the character, leadership and a winning mentality that is needed.

13 Jul 2020 19:56:12
How did zikos miss us being in the cup final tho šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚.

13 Jul 2020 20:37:49
If he doesn't win anything this season I think SG will resign, I agree with John he won't get sacked.

13 Jul 2020 20:57:19
Ziko what part of the league cup final that Celtic beat us 1-0 last season do you not get.

13 Jul 2020 21:35:55
Zikos is probably just getting the cup competitions mixed up.

13 Jul 2020 23:08:19
Great post Berkshire.

14 Jul 2020 00:36:51
@Berkshire. Hand behind his back? What about Hagi? SG has had more money than any other manager in recent times. Problem with SG is he sticks with the same dross that underperformes. That will ultimately get you the sack. I'm not buying this "He won't get the bullet" stuff. If the fans turn then the board has to act. Other than a few great runs in Europe he's not done a very good job IMO. Gives guys a chance like Jones, Murphy, Doherty etc. We badly need another Forward, Creative and Solid DM and a RB. Change the captaincy for a start.

14 Jul 2020 08:41:24
AS1974, my view is that Gerard needed to totally rebuild the Team since he inherited a total shambles and given the amount that Caixinha, (or what ever he was called), totally wasted in less than a season it is debatable that Gerard has spent more. I agree fully that we need another forward, a creative and solid DM and I would like to see a change of captaincy, but for the latter to happen I would suggest that we need to buy, not promote from within, because right now I don't see the Captain we need at the Club! While I agree that Murphy merits a chance but I have seen nothing from Jones to suggest that he is anything other than a squad player at best and there has to be a reason why Docherty doesn't play. I expect a lot from the DoF, given that he is supposed to be the best, but we will see come August when the transfer window opens what he comes up with, or is it just more freebies and youngsters on loan. Just out of curiosity, if Ranges sacked Gerard who would you appoint as manager?

14 Jul 2020 11:39:54
Thing is we don't promote within. When was the last player through or youth set up to the first team?
We can't keep buying. Its not the answer nor do we have the Ā£Ā£Ā£.
The manager I would TRY and get is Sean Dyce. (Very underrated) l Pie in the sky maybe but we can't go for these rookie managers anymore. We need someone that knows the game. I've always said that SG, for the time being is out his depth.

14 Jul 2020 19:51:21
As1974 Gerrard has had more money than any other team in Scotland apart from celtic! And guess what we finish above everybody apart from celtic! In my honest opinion? Gerrard has figured out how to play against teams that actually play football against us! Look at how we outplayed them in most games and our euro run? Its the teams that sit in that's the final stumbling block along with consistency.

13 Jul 2020 16:04:30
Considering the way through next seasons Europa, its going to be really difficult to reach the group stages. Am hopeful we can make it but it will be tough.

13 Jul 2020 17:01:12
Great always tough. We need the money from it more than ever.

13 Jul 2020 15:54:26
Do you guys on here really believe SG can win us the title this year?

13 Jul 2020 16:46:56
Yes I do.

13 Jul 2020 16:57:53
I live in hope but there will be a niggling feeling that Stevie G is not meant to win a league title in his entire football career. That feeling I hope will be extinguished in may.

13 Jul 2020 17:02:05
Yes with at least four first team players signed. Present squad no chance.

13 Jul 2020 17:14:05
I hope that Iā€™m wrong, but I donā€™t tbh. How can we possibly win the league? Teams have us totally figured out. Last season when we were going for a championship we could only manage 4 wins from the 9 games after the split!

This team had a bit more dig than warburtons but tbh, thatā€™s about the only difference. If we have given Warburg in the money that SG has had I do t think we would be any worse of than we are currently.

SG hasnā€™t been able to make a final yet! Forget winning a trophy - we need to get to a final first!

For me SG should already be away but for sone reason most fans cut him far too much slack. He was lucky the season got called because if we had lost that season by 20 points he would be out of a job!

Letā€™s all hope either the Bristol City rumour is true and he is gone or that he has learned from the many mistakes he has made and finally leads us to some success.

13 Jul 2020 17:30:54
Guys I am the same and itā€™s not about being negative, itā€™s about being honest and not looking thru blue tinted specs that some do on here.
We need at least 3 most probably 4 1st team starters to have a chance.
Our players have proven over the season they ainā€™t got it in them.
People might not like this but Celtic have match winners all over the park and get the job done when they need to.
They down struggle when teams sit in they find away.
Thatā€™s what SG needs to do find away to break these teams down and I ainā€™t confident he can.

13 Jul 2020 17:31:42
Zikos we were in the league cup final mate.

13 Jul 2020 17:33:48
Na don't think so been saying that fur ages.

13 Jul 2020 17:42:41
ZIKOS I agree with your post.

We don't have the strength and depth to win the league. As much as I wish we could i don't give us much hope. Maybe I'm being negative but I think I am a realist. SG is judged as a manager and not the player he was. Signings not good and tactically inept as we've seen. I hope he's learned from last season. Hope I'm wrong and we do win the league but can't see it.

13 Jul 2020 17:43:45
Think Iā€™m right with this one.

After the split we averaged 1.2 goals per game. Celtic averaged 3.4 goals per game!

Thatā€™s where we lost the league right there! Thatā€™s relegation scoring form. He needs to correct that because as everyone knows defence is not our strong point!

If he can get 15 goals + from Kent, Arfield, Aribo The. We will definitely have a chance. Now ask yourself if you can see either one of those players get over 15 goals let alone all 3 because thatā€™s whatā€™s happening over the city.

13 Jul 2020 17:51:20
Honestly KJA9,i most definitely do think gerrard can win the league for us this upcoming season. I've stated before, that i feel gerrard needs to sign 3 quality players, that can go straight into our starting 11.I also would keep jamie murphy, as i honestly think he'll be an important player for us this season šŸ‘.

13 Jul 2020 18:09:02
At the moment there is nothing to suggest we are a better team than last year, absolutely nothing. SGL says he is confident we will win the league, but clearly that is coming from the heart not the head. As it stands we have the same team as last year, a team which proved itself incapable of consistency and without the craft and firepower to break down even the weakest of teams. Three weeks to kickoff and we desperately need reinforcements. We cannot afford to drop stupid points when the season kicks off and fall behind so early itā€™s imperative that we get off to a flyer. Still time for these signings but ideally you would want them in place ahead of 1st Aug with time to settle in.

13 Jul 2020 18:22:10
Zikos u not counting league cup final.

13 Jul 2020 18:29:30
I would give Murphy a shot maybe good coming of the bench but wonā€™t start.

What if we donā€™t get those 3 1st team starters SGL?

13 Jul 2020 18:50:08
Seasons not started window still open not a ball kicked in anger but weā€™re beat, not good enough, manager inept signings poor can we at the very least play some competitive games before the slaughtering starts?
We were arguing other day about Calvin Basseys height!
Some of our support need a right good look at themselves
I know SG made mistakes I was critical of lates subs etc
Some of the guys on here, gives us break by all means if itā€™s as bad as your posting by December Iā€™m all in and with you, but let us start though!

13 Jul 2020 18:54:43
Sorry my bad regarding the league cup final - feck knows why I had that as a semi final!

SGL I donā€™t think we can win the league because of the lack of goals. You seem so positive that we can, can you please give us some insight into how things are going to change, because I just canā€™t see it.

Morelos will probably get around 25 goals, Defoe 10, Kent 5, Arfielf 5, Aribo 3. Is that enough to win the league? By that could we would need one of the best defences this league has ever seen and win every game 1-0 or 2-0.

I just canā€™t see it.

SGL, where are the goals coming from?

13 Jul 2020 19:19:31
We ran out of steam last year and we were unlucky with injuries and suspensions at key times.

The run of games we had in December was unbelievable. Aberdeen, Hibs and Celtic away plus the UEFA cup games. People forget Celtic qualified with only 4 games while we played Feyenoord away and young boys at home.

Sg canā€™t be without blame as he was too rigid with his 4-3-3 and his use of subs and squad could have been better.

However I donā€™t think we were too far away. We should we can beat them and go on good runs. Cup final we were the better team, Aberdeen were allowed to kick us off the park in a game we should have won, the Hibs game being moved to a Friday meant we couldnā€™t play the St Johnstone game. we could have been going into 2020 5 points clear. Celtic got the breaks and we didnā€™t. No conspiracy theories, sometimes that is just how it is.

Iā€™m confident going into the new season. I always am. SG as manager, Tav as captain, Goldon and Helander heart of defence, Jack and Davis in midfield, Hagi, Kent and Alfredo up front. Plus Borna B makes a great nucleus. That is a massive improvement from Mark Warburton team.
I hope SG and the team do us proud and bring home 55.

13 Jul 2020 19:43:52
Given that the transfer window has not yet opened it is too early to say whether we can win the league or not. We saw the problem last season. We barely had a first eleven of the quality needed especially with some of our players with potential being in their first season. We didn't have a squad and not one of those players that we have allowed to leave at the end of their contract were good enough. I strongly believe that we are only three or four first team players short and while I would also like to see a couple of better squad players signed if we sign the right players then Yes, we can win the league. They all need to be strong, they need to believe in themselves and ideally they need to be winners.

13 Jul 2020 20:27:54
Berkshireblues, SG has signed enough players for 2 teams. How come we didnā€™t have a squad good enough to compete? Because he keeps signing utter gash from Liverpool reserves and the likes on loan, whilst letting good promising talent go out on loan. He brings in King and letā€™s McCrorie and Doherty go on loan! Wtf! He let's candeias go and brings in Ojo on loan again wtf!

He needs to bring in 1st team ready players and Get the likes of Kent, Aribo etc on the Bench where they belong. They might develop into absolute superstars, but atm they are far from that.

13 Jul 2020 21:04:47
BB thatā€™s BS if we havenā€™t got enough quality thatā€™s down to one man SG as he has bought loads of players.

13 Jul 2020 22:55:40
KJA / Zikos, We might have signed a shed load of players but the real question is - were they all quality players - and the clear answer is No. The DoF has the job of finding players and yes, the manager has, presumably, to sign them off. but why are we going for loan signings and why are we going for Bosmans. The answer is quite simple, a total lack of funds. As for the reference to McCrorie and Docherty, sorry but they are a long way short of the quality we need to win the league. McCrorie has gone backwards and in time might be the player we need. As for Docherty, I have still to see something that suggests he is what we need in midfield. That does not mean that I disagree with signing Liverpool loanees or guys like King, on the contrary, I want to see players at Rangers with a winning mentality, that have skill and a Souness style attitude that winning is everything. Unfortunately, I do not see many of those type of players at Rangers these days and bringing in more of the same won't change things! I remain of the view that we need three or four quality players that will walk straight into the team and make a difference. It is the job of the DoF to find those players and it is up to the Board to provide the Funding. If that happens and we don't win the league then Gerard needs to answer questions; otherwise the blame lies elsewhere.

13 Jul 2020 22:56:08
Zikos put Kent and Aribo on bench and they might develop into superstars? How does that work Spend Ā£7m leave him on bench thatā€™s your idea to develop a superstar?
Iā€™ll give you Andy king That was baffling candias wanted guarantee starts no manger would agree to that hence heā€™s gone McCrorie not convinced by him at all.

13 Jul 2020 23:09:45
we lost the second half because of depth of squad we had and not being able to replace our key injured players. if i recall both davis and jack were injured and didn't feature much. davis carried the knock right into the CV break. i don't recall who but i'm sure there was a couple other injured forcing us to play Hagi out right. maybe my memory is slipping but to me that's why we couldn't do what we did in the first half. then not winning the games we should have caused heads to go down. it shouldn't yes i know but it has happened to better teams. who remembers Smith final year when 10iar was on the cards right up until he announced he was leaving. half the team gave up trying.

13 Jul 2020 23:52:17
Zikos, hagi will make a big difference and will hit double figures in goals scored and easily double figures upwards in assists. If we can get past teams who sit in with the low block we'll win the league, because we've proved under gerrard we can beat them. Hagi in the central no.10 role, kent in his natural wide left position and sign a good right winger and a hard physical, holding midfielder and IMO we'll win the league! šŸ‘.

14 Jul 2020 08:51:50
Geesadodothat Davis and jack were horrendous after December when they were not injured.

14 Jul 2020 10:03:42
Blue blue sea - yes sometimes you need to bench players to aide in their development. Especially when they are in poor form. If not all you are doing is crushing their confidence. Bad game after bad game is not good for their development. You have to nurture young talent. Know when itā€™s right to rest them and know when they can be unleashed. Eventually they will learn their craft and be able to sustain a high level of performance for 30+ games but our youngsters are way off that.

Be honest how many good games did you see either of Kent or Aribo play last year - maybe 5. Not good enough and put simply bad management/ coaching.

Regarding McCrorie going backwards that also lies at SGā€™s door. He goes from being a ā€œLionā€ against Celtic (SGā€™s words) to not being good enough and being replaced by King, who was clearly injured. Wtf!

When Jack, Kamara and David were not on form he could have given one of them a rest but no - we had no options because he sent those boys out in loan when they should have been developing under his guidance. Terrible management and BIG mistake.

Hopefully he has learned these lessons but wouldnā€™t be fussed if he left tomorrow. He is learning his craft at management and unfortunately for us he is using Rangers as a platform to makes these mistakes so that he is better equipped for his dream job.

Well for me Rangers should not be a classroom for any manager to learn their craft. We should have an experienced and successful manager guiding the club domestically and in Europe.

Thatā€™s my view.

As for SGL more silly, optimistic views rather than being honest and realistic. Hagi has never scored more that 10 goals in a season but this is the year he will!

This year for us to have a chance we need him and Kent to be close to 20.

13 Jul 2020 12:23:15
I think Alfredo should stay one more year bang in the goals to help us win the title and then get a big money move. apart from his goals he can hold the ball up well and bring others into play and can drag defender all over the place on his day . I honestly don't believe the boy Taylor is the answer. but if he does go then I think I would prefer the boy toney who looks a solid and fast unit.

13 Jul 2020 13:48:02
I'm sure I seen posts like this at the start of the last season aswell.

13 Jul 2020 13:57:23
win win situation then--if he goes, money in the bank-if he stays -#55.

A To Z: ChievoVerona

13 Jul 2020 12:32:09
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, A To Z: ChievoVerona

13 Jul 2020 11:50:39
Makes you wonder if a team from Scotland or similar size country would have got away with the UEFA sanctions Man City were given relief on today?

{Ed001's Note - yes because UEFA themselves admitted the only evidence they had was inadmissible in court.}

13 Jul 2020 16:57:51
Still think I had a fair point Edd001?

{Ed001's Note - UEFA would not have pursued a club from any other country than England. This is simply part of their current vendetta against the English clubs which has been causing disquiet. They are unhappy with England having such huge income compared to the rest of Europe. Funny they never minded when it was Italy or Spain though!}

13 Jul 2020 11:16:15
Everyone here is desperate to see us signing some new players (hence some of the pretty iffy ā€˜rumoursā€™ getting posted everyday) . However what everyone seems to be forgetting is the very unusual circumstances we are in this year. Itā€™s very likely that we will have to start the season with pretty much the squad we have just now and it wonā€™t be until maybe 4 or 5 weeks into the season that we see the majority of new faces and hereā€™s why. Our transfer window opened 1st July and runs for 12 weeks so wonā€™t end until almost end September. However as a lot of the leagues around Europe are still being played, a fair number of their windows donā€™t even have an opening date decided yet. This means a couple of things. It may be that some of the payers we are looking at are still actually playing for their teams in their leagues right now, so no chance their clubs will let them go at the moment. Also even once all the other transfer windows do open, it may be that a team wonā€™t want to let a player go until they have someone else signed / lined up which could delay any signing. Plus if for example we are waiting to see if Morelos leaves before using the money to bring in a couple of players, and itā€™s been talked about either England, Italy or maybe Spain as a destination for him, their windows wonā€™t open until our league has started.
All of these factors are why itā€™s going to be a long wait for new players. that's also why the ones we have brought in so far were out of contract free transfers as we could sign them straight away.
All of this has actually been brought about again because of the spflā€™s decision to stop the league as quickly as possible and get the next season started as early as possible. So now our transfer window is out of whack with the majority of other leagues. We are scrambling around trying to get our squad sorted for next year whilst most other leagues are concentrating on just finishing their season.
The only consolation is that itā€™s the same for all the teams in Scotland, hence why Celtic havenā€™t brought in anyone either and are about to start pre season friendlies with only their third choice keeper.

13 Jul 2020 11:24:15
No consolation in that what so ever. If we don't sign anybody else then we will be 2nd again. Hopefully we can make 2 or 3 quality signings b4 start of season.

13 Jul 2020 11:30:43
Christ there's some bedtime reading.

13 Jul 2020 11:38:56
I did not say we will not sign anybody, you might want to read that again Paul. What Iā€™m saying is we are going to have to be patient. As Iā€™ve said, itā€™s unlikely we will be able to bring ā€˜2 or 3 playersā€™ In before the season starts and Iā€™ve outlined why. If we have specific targets (which Iā€™m sure we do) we may have to wait for them. No point in just going out and bringing in a couple of players that we donā€™t really want / arenā€™t good enough just because they are available prior to our season starting.
We will sign players but I reckon a couple at least will be once the season has already started. What Iā€™m saying is our team / starting eleven against Aberdeen probably wonā€™t be the same as it is 6 or 7 games into the season. However we are all in the same boat, so Celtic and all the other teams will be having the same difficulties.

13 Jul 2020 15:11:34
Think the players we are more than likely interested in arenā€™t actually getting games for their club atm as per recent years.

13 Jul 2020 15:48:59
Sorry Paul but if we start league with same team as last season plus given hagi more time vs a celtic squad depleted by players leaving (forster, simo, Hayes, Gordon) and Griffiths unfit I'd take our chances.

13 Jul 2020 17:05:40
Have patience lads. Ross Wilson and SG will pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat before the end of the month. (i hope)

13 Jul 2020 11:00:57
when do we play motherwell friendly.

13 Jul 2020 14:01:48
We play motherwell at ibrox a week on wednesday mate, with a 6pm kick off.

13 Jul 2020 15:47:46
July 22nd 6pm ko Ryanger.

13 Jul 2020 10:52:47
I'd just like to pay tribute to Jack Charlton who sadly died on Friday. I had the privilege of watching him play for a very good Leeds United team in 1968 when they drew 1-1 with Dundee at Dens Park. The man was legend. Rest in peace big man!

13 Jul 2020 14:03:17
Here here DOIGER, i totally echo your heartfelt words pal. Was leeds utd your favourite english team DOIGER? šŸ¤”.

13 Jul 2020 10:16:22
John25, regarding your answer on one of your reply posts yesterday regarding if/
when gerrard leaves rangers, you stated don't rule out defoe to replace him? I agree with you to an extent, as we can't really rule out anyone, as our sporting director ross wilson will have a big say on who was to replace gerrard, when that time comes. It would necessarily be a big name, or someone who's been managing another club! That's why i honestly would rule out our current under 20's coach kevin thomson, as the guy wilson could turn to, to replace gerrard when that time comes. Thommo is very highly regarded/ rated as a coach within our academy and the corridors of ibrox. Wilson has already said he rates kevin thomson highly. Wilson also would know that thomson knows the workings all through the youths from top to bottom and would seemlessly be able to work with/ under wilson as rangers manager/ head coach! Thomson is definitely going places as they all predict a future career in management for KT. He's a very highly regarded coach and our powers at be think the world of him. that's why he's also now working closely with gerrard and the current rangers management team!

13 Jul 2020 12:14:35
Thomson might well be a good coach.
I'd imagine most fans would be a little disappointed with replacing SG with Thomson thoughšŸ¤”.

13 Jul 2020 13:05:41
U kind of miss point SGL given present climate and the man shows class. More likely to form part of a new management team.
Mr Grumpy employing Thomson is a major backwards step in terms of image and class
To go forward image needs to be high.
Sg going no where till 2024. Houghton saying he has Bristol job allegedly.

13 Jul 2020 16:02:41
SG has to win something this season but I think your right John. And what job comes available in 2024 for SG?

13 Jul 2020 20:25:56
Mr Grumpy he will go to Liverpool 2024. Itā€™s part off their plan. Klopp to Germany.
I listened to a great blog re Liverpool and their main interest is how gerrard does for us in Europe.
They think our league is very low standard.

13 Jul 2020 09:43:15
Watched arsenal , Tierney looked rubbish. A few good crosses, then constant pass back to a defender. How they got 25 million I'll never know. Bornas ten times better than him. We should be asking at least 30 million.

We constantly let ours go for pennies. We have to play our youngsters now. Liverpool yesterday had theirs on and the desire was visible. Murphy and mccrorie should be vital this year. Patterson and mayo should be in the team. Why don't we play our youngsters? Gilmour right in at Chelsea, but not good enough for us?

I'm scared though lads. I see in the first game, the exact same players and formation. Tav up the right swinging in ten crosses. Alfmo trying but scuffing half due to no support and helander getting caught out on pace. Bassey is the only difference. We have nothing new. Then we have hagi. Shots from outside the box. Goal. Murphy taking chances. Goal. Mccrorie covering goldson. Block.
All on here seem to see the faults, but Gerrard persists with mistakes. He is a good guy, but if we win nothing, he's off.

13 Jul 2020 09:56:36
Would like to see younger players getting more of a chance but canā€™t see it happening this season when we have got to stop them.

13 Jul 2020 09:58:58
Have to be honest here Rossco3001.
Kieran Tierney probably apart from yesterday's london derby has been superb for arsenal mate.

He's arguably been their best player. As much as i rate borna barisic very highly and i don't think there's a great deal between him and tierney, I still think tierney is better than barisic pal. that's my honest assessment.

Tierney i've always said, if he's over his injuries, is very like a young ashley cole, although not just as good as cole was! Cole was at one point while at chelsea, the best left back in the world! šŸ‘Œ.

13 Jul 2020 10:08:59
Everybody south of the border is heaping a lot of praise on tierney just now if am honest. we need to sign 2 or 3 starters to challenge celtic for league.

13 Jul 2020 10:11:46
Tierney is a good left back but nothing overly special. I am surprised he is getting such praise. Again he has been decent since the Premiership restarted but in a very very poor Arsenal side. Robertson is a far better left back.

13 Jul 2020 10:16:20
The youngsters get their chance everyday in training. If they are better than what we've got they would play but you have to play your best players. Unless your thinking, okay Lewis you never quite done as well as Goldson in training this week but we will drop him and stick you in so you can have a wee shot of playing, Goldson won't mind and it doesn't matter if we get beat the fans won't mind as long as you get a wee turn, that's the main thing.

13 Jul 2020 10:22:43
Gilmour left us 3 years go at 16 years old, we tried our level best to keep him. He did not go straight into the Chelsea team either and even at 19 is not a regular. Was saddened to hear about his knee injury and hope he makes a full recovery and would like to see him return to play for his boyhood club one day.

13 Jul 2020 10:24:38
Tierney is a class player.

Fortunately, Celtic spent only a fraction of the money they made on him and Lennon thought it was a good idea to sign hopeless cause Bolingoli.

13 Jul 2020 10:24:50
10 times better? Have a word with yourself.

13 Jul 2020 10:47:12
Biff 316,both tierney and robertson are terrific left backs, but i rate tierney the better defender of the two mate! Going forward there's nothing between them!

13 Jul 2020 11:27:40
tierney is part of the worst arsenal defence in decades, did you really say he's been superb sgl?

13 Jul 2020 12:20:04
not to be contentious but haven't seen tierney play a good game yet. more headless chicken than left back and ripped up by man city.

13 Jul 2020 13:07:26
Rossco helander did not play in the game.

13 Jul 2020 15:52:46
KT since the restart has been there best player all pundits raving about him down there some people on here can see by the fact he played for Celtic because they donā€™t really know football.

SGL you saying KT is better than Robertsonā€™s shows how much you know about football hee haw.

13 Jul 2020 20:01:41
Andy robertson is far superior to Tierney going forward coops, it's not even close.

13 Jul 2020 08:41:30
Well said Kenny Dalglish, how can the tims keep the title when Hearts win their relegation battle? If they are not relegated then every league place must surely be null and void not just one, the bottom one.

The thing here is, not only have we got an internationally respected ex player saying it, every layman has been saying it since the league was called. The only and it was always the only fair way for the vast majority of our teams was to halt the season with no winners or losers and to go again on the same terms as at the start of the season. How can we see that but not the beaks that run our game? Corruption or incompetence you choose.

13 Jul 2020 10:29:42
I truly believe that null and void was the fairest way to go but forget it happening, it's not.

As for Anne Budge, she's an absolute hypocrite, happy to fight to stop Hearts being relegated but perfectly happy for Celtic to retain the title.

13 Jul 2020 12:21:32
as proven in belgium and france no choice. if no relegation/ promo no title.
