we have been excellent on all fronts so far this year. me, i'm naturally pessimistic. I thought today was an important day the manky mob needed to get a win and I feared we might have a little complacency following Europe and domestic results of late. i'm over the moon we got 3 points from a potential bump in the road. Domestically I don't see Celtics slump lasting past last weekend. so we need to be at it every minute. I thought we missed Ryan Jack today.

Kent needs a rest which for me is a concern. He is much harder to replace. I wonder if that is why there is talk of Kennedy returning from loan.
No reason to bring him back if we don't intend to utilise him.

I've said all along this season will hinge on our consistency John25.
I don't see many changes for the St Mirren game - possibly the expected cup changes with Defoe and Itten start in place of Roofe and Morelos.
Possibly Zungu for Davis or Kamara and Bassey for Barisic.
And a keeper change as well.
The squad / team is good enough to cope with these changes👍.

Blubell72, you don't see many changes then you change half of the team? However, the beauty of this squad is that even with those five changes I wouldn't call it a weakened team! I'd rest Kent, play a tighter 4-1-3-2 type of loose formation with Jack (if fit) sitting, Arfield, Aribo and Zungu in the middle and Defoe and Itten up front. I know it's not normal to play two up, but Itten could easily drop off and while the full backs take care of the wide areas he could support them.

The debate on Alfie

I understand everyone's frustrations over Alfie but I'd wish to point out 2 things.

Alfie never developed this fighting spirit (which can sometimes come with pertinence) at rangers, he's had it his whole life. Every top side over the years has had guys like this, sourness and gattuso to name but 2. Even when Alfie is having a bad game in striker terms, his presence is sometimes enough to make his opponents have a bad game and the majority of times he puts a shift in.

2nd point.
If you remember it was in the news that Alfie had agreed terms with Lille before the clubs had agreed a fee. The ONLY way this could have happened is if Alfie had been given permission to speak with Lille. Does anyone think that contracted players commonly agree terms with other clubs behind there current clubs back?
The fact that especially Roofe was brought in (fee+ wages) during C.V. tells us that rangers were very close to Lille for a deal. Rangers wanted more money up front. Anyway, it's clear Alfie has had his head turned a wee bit, we paid £1m for him, he'll leave for a hell of a lot more. That's credit not only down to rangers but the lad himself. He'll play at the highest level. Give the guy a break.

Sometimes you've got to win by rolling up your sleeves and winning the individual battles.
Domestically, Utd have been the best so far this season by given us a game first half by having a go.
Second half our class by keeping the ball and sticking to your usual game plan.
On Morelos, I love him as a player but it just isn't happening for him just now. Unfortunate with a couple of attempts.

We were poor 1st half but reset well to control 2nd half if we had went down a man we would have struggled to get a, point from game . we lacked edge in 1st half but still found a way to win . something we have been unable to do in previous seasons. but alf needs to be working harder in training to lose that weight he is carrying.

Think back to this time last year, red Motherwell and Celtic for stupidity.

Alf likes the girls. Pictures off him in clubs with girls, mb they just want photos with a star. I think this has more to do with his demeanour.

Alfie’s attitude has been the same his whole career. It’s that fighting spirit that makes him as a player but I see the issues with some of the rubbish he does. Gattuso also had the habit of doing things like this same with Roy Keane etc.

Finishing wasn’t great today. Score line flattered Dundee. Dundee had no play through the middle. Great game from Davis. Kamara solid defensively. McGregors timing and position seemed off all game but he wasn’t busy either. And the back four has been magnificent this season.

Midfield were immense today, don't know if it was the conditions, but we were a bit slack in front of goal, loads of chances created. I can see Alfie on the bench for the next few games, would like to see Itten in his place at the moment and see how he gets on. See to be honest SGL, I don't have an issue with him saying that.
What he's saying is true, we haven't won anything and he thinks Dave King should wait until we've at least won the league before coming out with talk like that. It's no big deal mate! If he was slating the manager, or saying Celtic are a better team than us, then yes he's talking jimmy white, but he's not.
On the flip side to that, I don't have an issue with Dave King saying what he did. Dave King knows how to mess with the psyche of a Celtic supporter more than anyone else. They hate the guy, absolutely hate him! Why? Because Dave King saved Rangers and got us to where we are today and they are bricking it!

I used to read a lot of footballers autobiographies and especially rangers players books. I was reading an article about big duncan ferguson this morning, on how highly current everton manager carlo ancelotti rates him as his assistant and states big dunc has all the makings of being a very good manager and has every chance of eventually taking over from him as everton manager, a few years from now 🤔My question is fellow bears, have any of you guys read big duncs autobiography and if you have i take it its a cracking read 🤔Its a book i haven't read! When fit big duncan ferguson was unplayable at times especially in the air,
where arsenal legend tony adams stated in his book, that big dunc was the best in the air,
that he'd ever came up against 👌I met the big guy years ago when he signed for us in 1993👍Mad as a brush, but a great big guy nonetheless 👍 What the authorities up here did to the big guy regarding his jail sentence was terrible and unfair! No wonder he turned his back on playing for his country after that.
I met him again outside ibrox a few years ago now when he was finished playing and started coaching. He loves the rangers and said at the time back then, that as he hadn't played anywhere near as many times as he would have liked for us, he wouldn't hesitate to be a coach or a manager of rangers, if he was ever asked and of course was good enough 👍Great big guy who does a lot of good behind the scenes!

Duncan Ferguson was hounded out this country! The way the big guy was treated was atrocious, and I would never blame him If he never set foot in Scotland again.
The assault charge, the trial, and the jail sentence were a total stitch up and were drummed up to mask something a lot more sinister than an innocuous head-butt!
When you consider what went on before, and what has happened since on a football field, it is clearly evident there was an agenda against the big guy.
