Alright guys had to laugh at some of the usual negativity surrounding the upcoming transfer window. There WONT be a decision on the tax case until after the window shuts and although huge offers as always will be considered and Whyte wont want to spend much if anything there is no fire sale at Ibrox, Davis for £2m? Jelavic for £5m? broadfoot for any fee? Mcgregor £4m? I dont think so more like
£4-5m Davis, £8m+ Jelavic, McGregor £6-8m and Broadfoot a boiled egg and a microwave!
On seperate issue I have heard that Super Ally is considering offering short term contracts to Riordan and/or O Connor to help fill void left by Naismith while hoping to Loan out Fleck and get Healy hunted.

dorian goian has said he would like to sign a new deal with the gers and also said he would spend the rest of his career at ibrox

Believable11 Unbelievable0

Hes 31 with 18 month remainin, i doubt there will be any new contract offered

Agree1 Disagree7

Is that what happened when Davie Weir turned 33 - eh no mate!

Don't write Goian off - Dorin Goian doesn't play football.. He allows it's existence as he likes being outside!

Oh good just what we need another geriatric defender playing into his middle age.

I think McCulloch & Edu playing together is what brings Edu down because the team are ultra defensive and he slows attacking play down when we usually have alot of flair with Davis and the wide men. I'd like to see McCulloch go as he's getting older and thank him for doing his part at Rangers, particularly that great goal at Parkshed. I would welcome Edu to sign a new deal but McCulloch has to go.

Believable12 Unbelievable4

McCulloch and Edu are too similar to play together- both are defensive midfielders.

Agree2 Disagree0

McCulloch has had his day and was a good player 3-4 years ago. Edu is simply rubbish and will not get better so dont worry about the other junk playing beside him. Davis included in that as he is way off Gers quality right now.

McCoist has already indicated talks are imminent with midfielder Maurice Edu and striker Kyle Lafferty and now Bendiksen appears set to be offered new terms, with his current six-month deal poised to finish at the end of this month. Everyone must know it makes sense. I think I'm in the minority when it comes to Edu and Lafferty. On websites everyone can have an opinion but when the two players step over that white line on Saturday that's when everyone should get behind them. We normally do anyway.
Followfollow81

Believable13 Unbelievable1

FF81 well said, I've always been a fan of Edu's. Took me a while to come round to Lafferty but he certainly has ability as seen at the end of last season. I hope they both sign extensions. As always I wish people in the ground would support the team thats what we are there to do.

GovanFR

Agree13 Disagree2

I'm the same as well. Lafferty works hard regardless of who we play and his pace is what we need up front. Edu is a player I've always rated, he just needs to keep his head up and not let get people on his back. Being the youngest here(18) I think I know the least about rangers but I support them 100%

See tbh all these contract extensions for Whitts, Shagger and now poss Edu. Don't really think it's much to do with wanting to keep them more that we'll get a better transfer fee when we do sell them. Makes sense to me. I'd happily sell Whittaker, Edu, maybe Shagger and poss Jela.

Would be like when we sold Ferguson and re built the team with the money. Fair enough we wouldn't get all the money but even if we got half I think we could re-build a decent squad and put the club in a stonger position overall.

It's been proved in the past that the only way to beat Celtic is attack but I fear the worst ally is going put team out to shut up shop in next old firm game, look how we managed to out play them in 4-2 game also when we beat them In cis cup final we attacked and win, I could see why we would do this against them when larsson, hartson and Sutton but why fear this Celtic team?

Rablam

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Good point, not much between teams,Celtic better midle to front at the moment, defence is poor, and we should go at them,Hooper and Stokes a decent pairing, our centre backs will be best they have faced, the 28th will be a good game,a draw suits us,but as you say, attack, give big Jelavic a chance.watp

Agree1 Disagree0

Lads, how many of us were a little nervous before the first old firm game. I'll be the first to admit i was, and i know i will be for this one. However, as a fan, Ally will want to beat them. Definitely. I'm confident he'll try to attack and wont set up as we have been in recent weeks. Muzz

Agree0 Disagree1

If we can see that there defence is a shambles ally definately can so 2 up front for me though i can see ur point as i doubt ally will want to concede

Cant argue that gers totally overran us in the 4 2 game, but the cup final could,ve went either way.

Thinking about INS/OUTS in January and the end of the season I genuinely don't believe there will be to many OUTS.

Some fans on here are not in the real world if they think there is going to be a mass clearout!

OUTS

Jelavic(End of Season)

Players such as Kerkar, Healy, Fleck, McCulloch and Broadfoot will be released from their contracts or sold for minimal fees.

INS

A replacement for Jelavic and perhaps a creative midfielder.

(3 or 4 million for each player from the income from Jelavic transfer.)

My team for the wkend would b shager mcmillen goian captian american papac edu bedoya davies fleck wylde jelavic 4-2-3-1

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Why McMillan, when he played against Motherwell he was lucky not to be sent off. He is not that good.

Agree1 Disagree2

Aye but he is a proper right back and does get found out leaving gaps in defence like whittaker does....

I'd Play whittaker in Midfield and McMillan behind him at right back, and try and get Whittaker to do the work that naismith did. The lads a good midfielder, realistically the formation will not change but I would like to see the lineup below

McGregor
McMillan
Bocanegra
Goian
Papac
Edu
Bartley
Davis
Whittaker
Wylde
Jelavic

I'd play 4-2-3-1 and make sure Jelavic has support from Davis coming through the middle

Question for all you bears, how the dickens does Whyte find time to run your er great club (pause for laughs) with all his court appearances, he spends more time around the courts than Nadal, Murray and Federer put together. Maybe that is why all the bills get paid late, he just does not have time to pay them between different court venues? Aye Right ha ha Timalloy

Right ! Edu is a rangers player who no matter what goes on around him or how his form is on the day he gives 100% to the cause. the boy has had to endure constant stick from not only other teams fans but worse from the very fans he seeks he serve. He is a talented when going forward and has given big performances in big games, when we play celtic next I have no worries that he will shine. Yes we have players who at times seem not to be rangers class, But now more than ever, when all await our demise , we have to stand strong together, behind our team and truly support every last one of them. Im truely fed up of all these arm chair fans who slate edu and lafferty. these guys are good footballers emphasise why they signed for rangers not any guy can sell for the champs.
Edu breaks up play and does it week in week out.
Lafferty scores goals and enough of them have been deadly important to our campains week in week out.

Here is a question for yous

Edu or wanyama
Lafferty or samaras

Wee Craig in court today "The court heard Mr Whyte became the director of Tixway after a seven-year ban from being a company director. When asked why he was banned he answered he could not recall without any documentation what it was about and he would not want to say in open court and be incorrect." - Do you still believe anything this Guy says ?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Nothing seems to surprise me about this guy. The proof all be it true or false about this guy is unreal one to many stories about him & him now saying he was banned as director surely must make people think who is this guy. As to comments about 10m for jelavic from ally seriously made him self a laughing stock of football. EPL teams will have his name near the top of there lists with a figure no where near 10m lol spl has next to no money, rangers are in debt, about 15 bills payed late lists goes on. The more publicity Craig whyte gets from his past & current deals the more & more he's doing damage to himself & rangers.

Said b4 if a cash up front offer of 6-8m comes in then he's off.

I enjoyed coming on to this when I first discovered it because of the transfer speculation and a bit of a buzz talking with fellow supporters about positive things to do with RFC. Now it is just plain depressing! If it is not the filth talking about the tax issues it is people blaming Maurice Edu for the state of affairs at our great club. I am beginning to get the distinct impression that it would not matter a damn if the guy played brilliantly week in, week out. It would not be good enough. I am not suggesting that he is the best player in the world but he currently plays for us and as such deserves our backing along with the other 10 players on the pitch at the time.
A nameless person mentioned that I should not be allowed to express my opinions or that they are incorrect due to my being an armchair supporter and although this is true to a degree does not make my point any less valid. You can never really know the status of other supporters and their reasons for being armchair supporters or season ticket holders etc. but if you want to have a truly global club then these people from wherever they may be should be embraced as having a common cause and a common interest. I was living in Australia for the last fours years and am moving back there again in the not too distant future but I shout as loudly for my team from there as I would from Ibrox. I purchase my share of merchandise and subscribe to most things Rangers but even without this "contribution" and only attending a couple of games a year I would hope that my passion for the team and the game would be enough?
Nicko 1872

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Nobody doubting you are a Rangers supporter and care about the club. The fact is people that go to the games week in week out see a lot more of Edu than you do and believe me he's not well liked and certainly not rated by the majority of supporters. While i personally wouldn't boo him etc whilst playing for the club i'm sick of him and the other useless players we have in the team. Clubfoot, Bedoya,Whittaker, McCulloch, Ortiz, Kerkar, McKay Healy etc etc. You may say some of these guys haven't been given the chance to impress but the facts are they must not be showing up well in training etc and in the snippets we have seen of them they look absolutely guff. If they were any good they would be playing, especially with us having such a small squad. Its horrendous to watch and these guys are some of the worst i have seen in a Rangers jersey. Sorry but imo these guys are dead wood and need clearing out asap. A lot of players have gone a bit stale as well, Davis & Lafferty need a major kick up the ass. We are not all just blaming Edu but he is a major part of the problem. Still thats just my opinion.

Got a feeling that with parkhead coming up soon mccoist will go looking not to get beat rather than win and play a 5-4-1 formation.

Either:

Mcgregor

Whit Goian Bocca Sasa Wallace

Edu Davis Mcculloch Wylde

Jelavic

or

Mcgregor

Whit Goian Bocca Bartley Sasa

Edu Davis Mcculloch Wylde

Jelavic

I doubt it will be far from this.

East Enclosure Loyal.

PS To the fan who told me a couple of days ago to go and find another team for defending my own players and not wanting to jump on the bandwagon against edu etc you should be ashamed to call yourself a rangers fan.

I support the team. Hope edu gets a new deal, would rather have a team of edu's who try than a whittaker who is there for the money.

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Fleck has had numerous starts over the last few seasons including one in the old firm and failed to shine in all of them it's time we faced facts fleck is not good enough get rid NOW! and the fact that ally plays young hemmings before healy tells you that healy is surplus to requirements at ibrox. *ksd*

Agree10 Disagree4

Sorry mate but fleck is murder there is just nothing about him, his 1st touch is awful and so is his final ball, he's had plenty of chances, granted most of the time as a sub, just hasn't lived up to his hype. Maybe a move will benefit both parties.

I think our midfield is as flat as a pancake, no invention, no defence splitting passes,no spark, poor crossers-edu gets slated all the time but i think davis hasnt been great this season-naisy is sorely missed, fleck is a waste of time hasnt done anything in years-the yank and the aussie arent looking to hot either, as for kerkar and ortiz complete waste of wages-our defence looks very good but with the sh£te infront of it we are going to struggle all season-jelavic looks far better than he did at the start of the season what id do for a winger that can cross and a guy with a final ball jela would eat up those chances
STG

Believable10 Unbelievable0

I don't understand how nobody seems to pick up on the fact that all our poor performances come when mculloch and edu are in the same midfield.I can handle either one of them in their breaking up the play but when they are both in the middle it's an absolute disaster

Agree8 Disagree0

The whole Midfiled is shockingly poor. Edu, Davis, Mcculloch... Bartly too.

Davis needs a good kick up the back side but he is still not good enought. Would be a good Right Mid in a midfiled 4 or 5. Not good enough for CM neither is Edu.

Continuing on the Maurice Edu debate I would ask those fans who criticise him whether they rate Darren Fletcher.

Fletcher is two completely different players when he plays with Scotland and Man Utd.

So playing with good players can make you look a better player than you actually are.

Maurice Edu could easily fit into a West Brom or a Sunderland or a Fulham and would be a decent player.

Believable7 Unbelievable14

Lol comparing Fletcher with Edu. Get a grip Edu's pants.

Agree12 Disagree5

Lucas Levia is another one (obviously much better). They put in the effort off the ball and their job is just to turn the play around, hardly getting a chance to make that defence splitting pass or skinning the opposition. Muzz

Agree0 Disagree4

Who is Lucas Levia??

Agree0 Disagree0

Edu in the EPL... What a joke. He has been found out in the SPL. The only teams he could play for would be Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea and that is because you and I could probably play for them and get by as they have top class players.

Edu would be a good Hearts or Motherwell player. He is bringing the team down and only played a handful of decent games in his time at the club.

GB Gers for life.

Agree3 Disagree1

Give the guy a break, he is wearing the blue jersey, and we should be getting behind anyone who wears it. Edu is rated one of the best USA players by their fans so he must have something, and he is by far not the worst player at Ibrox at the moment, some of the fans favourites should give as much effort as he does.

Just thought I'd get a conversation going on this boring Tuesday,

This would never happenn but if Rangers and Celtic combined to make Celgers or Reltic lol What would your starting 11 be? This would be mine -

GK McGregor
RB Matthews
CB Goian
CB Bocanegra
LB Izzy
RM Forrest
CM Kayal
CM Davis
LM Naisy
CF Jelavic
CF Hooper

That midfield would be awesome you would have Naisy and Forrest buzzing down the wings, Kayal breaking up the play and Davis slicing defences open. The strike partnership no words needed lol

Well said rablam your only speaking the truth. Oneil & others no the state of rangers money wise & know that if they offer a half decent offer to either side of Glasgow then that player will be off. Think jelavic will go to sunderland tho it's said that he's got 20m to play with so could see a few going down there also wouldnt be surprised if someone had a word with jelavic (who I do rate highly) join a mid table team prove you can play in the EPL & you might get a move to the top 4 after a couple of years

Just my 2p worth
