Get Waggy in there.

13 Apr 2016 21:27:43
If waghorn is fit enough i would give him last 30 mins. tell miller to run his pan in for 60 mins. again only if waghorn could handle 30 mins. if not i would bring law into fold.

13 Apr 2016 20:15:20
We were always running the risk of injuries in the petrofac cup we should have rested our better players with celtic game in mind and played some fringe players and youth in petrofac final.

13 Apr 2016 21:20:54
Its alright saying that now but if we had done that and it went wrong then Warburton would have got pelters.

13 Apr 2016 21:38:11
Bigtrfc, your only saying that because hf is outt of semi final, would you have saidthat if hf never got injury?

14 Apr 2016 08:09:18
Yes i would have i said before petrofac final we should have rested a few players for celtic game . it was only the petrofac cup.

13 Apr 2016 18:56:53
This is where the tight lean squad can bite you back, if he had say 3 guys who could step in but knew they were essentially back up he would still have players with a sight of the first team.
Unlucky the way it panned out.

13 Apr 2016 19:54:08
To be fair we've been unlucky as harry n waggy both can play on the right as can moh and king who are obviously cup tied so 4 players out all for the 1 position.

13 Apr 2016 20:24:29
Scotjo although i sort of agree with your post, i hope we win on sunday, but defeat won't be the end of the world, mw was brought here to get us promoted, job done, cups are a bonus, its next season ime looking forward to, just to see how we get on under mw, in such a short space of time, let the celtic lot worry, i know they are saying there not wworried, but are they seious.

13 Apr 2016 18:46:30
Let's put John Eustace in.

13 Apr 2016 20:26:33
Scotjo its a pit he never got over his injury, i wonder how much of a diffrence he would have made .

13 Apr 2016 22:59:26
It's a big blow when you add him to prob Waghorn and the cup tied ones, but are we possibly making too much of it? Could this be the match when we crack it with a rejigged team?

13 Apr 2016 18:05:52
Really no idea what he can do now, no harry no MOH no king, unless he rushed waggy back, or even put tav on the wing but who rb, urgh harry forrester has pissed me off.

{Ed039's Note - Why has Forrester annoyed you?)

13 Apr 2016 18:29:29
Halliday can play on left and Barry on the right.

13 Apr 2016 18:40:04
i meant to put the injury to HF had pissed me off. MB.

13 Apr 2016 18:50:46
It's a huge blow, no doubting that. He would have been our main player a thought. No offence to the boy but a hope it doesn't mean Clark will start. I don't really fancy Law or Shields either in place of him.
Maybe play Halliday out left, McKay out right and Miller as striker. Law in midfield for Halliday with Holt and Ball.
Gutted with this news to be honest, just wish MOH was available as well.

13 Apr 2016 19:59:36
Maybe just through in a 16 year old and hope for a Derek Johnstone lol.

13 Apr 2016 17:47:07
Severe blow.

13 Apr 2016 17:30:32
Step forward nicky law more than capable if he's in the mood.

13 Apr 2016 17:47:13
Rangers will be more than competitive than the last game I'm just slightly concerned about being bullied or outmuscled. We have a lot of talk talent and I won't be too downhearted if we lose as a lot of changes will happen in the summer. We now have a few key players out but will be more than a match for them next season.

13 Apr 2016 16:51:57
Rangers website just confirmed Forrester has hairline fracture and will be out for a few weeks 😞.

13 Apr 2016 17:03:41
Time for Dean shiels to step up to the plate in what will probably be his last old firm game.

13 Apr 2016 17:51:49
Will MW risk Waghorn for half a game? Not match fit tho. I would play 4-4-2 now with Law in for experience, but MW won't. So the usual 4-3-3 with McKay, Miller, and Shiels / Waghorn sub.

13 Apr 2016 18:25:27
Shiels will not be playing on Rw mate, i would rather holt Rw and Law in middle beside Halliday and Ball, or even keep Holt where he is usually and wee Liam Burt on Rw. i'm still sure we can beat them people.

13 Apr 2016 19:57:18
smrfc

Law for experience? What experience are you referring too?

13 Apr 2016 16:43:57
My only worry about Sunday is there is so many players making there old firm debuts. It can shock new players into going into there shell. But we will certainly be more competitive than the last match against them. I just hope if we don't win the fans don't get to disheartened because we will be a far better team next year.

13 Apr 2016 15:12:35
Rangers top goalscorer Martyn Waghorn has refused to rule himself out of the Scottish Cup semi final old firm showdown and trained with the squad today.

13 Apr 2016 12:21:35
What you all think. This Sunday.

Rangers 3 v Celtic 2

Goal scorers for Rangers. Forrester, Miller, Tavernier.

What are all you're thoughts?

13 Apr 2016 14:21:43
Any truth to the rumour that Forrester has a broken Tibia?

13 Apr 2016 14:48:50
Surely if he had it wouldve been out by now.

13 Apr 2016 16:02:06
Sincerely hope so few of us in the office today heard about it prob a rumour started to unsettle.

13 Apr 2016 16:14:40
Considering the fact that Forrester himself said it was only a knock and will be fine for the weekend, I doubt that rumour is true.

13 Apr 2016 16:48:06
Rangers have said he is out of the tie. uh oh!

12 Apr 2016 23:23:09
Will Grigg? Anyone herd anything about this lad?

13 Apr 2016 13:53:04
Wallace spot on, Sun is just another game and we will continue to play to our style that has been successful, it's true, it is a huge match but ultimately it's another game of football and that is the best way to approach big occasion matches.

13 Apr 2016 11:34:45
Waghorn on Sky Sports earlier isn't ruling himself out of this weeks Old Firm match.

13 Apr 2016 13:17:04
Hes been looking like he's about fit with the efforts in the gym, why would you deadlift etc if still injured, i don't think there's much wrong with him now so heres hoping!

13 Apr 2016 15:04:16
If he could get on the bench it would give our support a huge lift. Would it be too much to ask for Waggy to come on in the 8th minute and score the winner? How sweet would that be?

13 Apr 2016 15:04:56
Meant 85th minute. Dan predictive text.

13 Apr 2016 15:22:05
I'd take the 8th aswell mate as long as it's the winner.

13 Apr 2016 10:46:59
So Forrester can sing a 3 year deal but McKay cant?

what is the thinking on that one? I think wee Barry looking into the future and wants to ensure that the can leave Rangers for England in due course.

If anyone can think of a good reason to support His contract please post.

13 Apr 2016 11:09:28
As far as I know it was the club's decision not to give Barrie a longer deal, not his.

13 Apr 2016 11:18:22
It was the Clubs decision but I also think it was the wrong one. Anything less than 3 years for a future star like McKay is shocking. On his 2 year deal he could have one good season in the SPFL and then sign a pre contract with an English team if he fancies it. I hope this is rectified in the summer. The wee mans done more than Forrester ( who I think has been fantastic) over the season and deserves his 3 years as well.

13 Apr 2016 11:29:21
It could be down to the fact he's only 21 yo. and MW might want to see how he develops over next couple of years before offered nee contract, barrie mackay has been great, but if he doesn't perform in premiership then he prob won't be in MWs plans in future.

13 Apr 2016 11:32:02
it keeps the young lad on his toes. it means he has to continue his form and trying hard to get another contract. give him 3 years and he could feel like he doesn't have to try as hard for a new contract for a year. makes sense to me. He'll be given an extension at the end of next season. Also Recbob, No he couldn't Barry is currently 21, you have to be 24 and over to sign pre contracts. also you need to have less than 6 months left on your current contract. He'd have to wait out his contract. In 2 years we will be playing regular European football hopefully, so another reason for him to stay.

13 Apr 2016 11:40:01
If the club have given him a 2 year deal I am baffled with that. It makes not 1 bit of sense. I think that he has made negotiating so hard because of clause or salary increases or bonuses that we could not give him what wanted so therefore 2 years was a compromise. And TBH, other clubs will know that by signing a 2 year deal the wee mans heart just not in it!

13 Apr 2016 13:18:45
Its probably to stop him getting carried away with himself and to let him know he still has a lot to learn and achieve in the game.

I'd have rather had him tied down longer but I understand the logic. Keeps him hungry with something to fight for.

Who's to say he won't get a new deal in January with a pay rise if he delivers in the premier.

13 Apr 2016 13:45:27
I don't buy the keeping him hungry c'mon who are we trying to kid, did Barcelona try keep messi hungry when he was young? not comparing them but just don't get the logic of it, all teams want there younger players tied down on a 3, 4 or 5 year deal.

I just think that something seems off with it maby I am just looking at the down side but I hope I am proven incorrect.

{Ed039's Note - McKay has been known to have problems with work ethic and attitude in the past, I think MW knows this and is trying to dangle a carrot in front of him ensuring the he progresses)

13 Apr 2016 10:33:13
Stubbs must be utterly brilliant at talking a good job as he certainly isn't doing one. Keep it up lad!

13 Apr 2016 11:13:18
The big man has been making a fool of himself for months. Long may it continue. Mind you I'm not enamoured that Falkirk might come up with us as I'm sure both they and Raith voted against our admission into the bottom tier. My ideal scenario is for the feeder club to go down and Killie to beat Hibs/ Falkirk/ Raith in the play off.

13 Apr 2016 11:24:59
Stubbs has fell victim to his brashy words at the start of the season. If he hadn't been shouting from the rooftops about doing this and that against us their season wouldn't have looked too bad. He should learn from MW and Houston, both have went about their business respectively and effectively and deserve the rewards.
Can't say I'm not happy to see Hibs and Dundee Utd fight it out next year, couldn't have happened to a better bunch. Celtics feeder club and its home for unwanted players slugging it out till the death, wonder who Celtic will want to win, both are essential to them.

13 Apr 2016 13:24:50
I think Stubbs had his team genuinely believing that they could win the title. For half a season they looked like genuine contenders and capable of pushing us all the way. When we beat them in December it has proved to be a key turning point on the season, they have been playing catch up ever since and have not been able to handle it, bottled it if you like. Perhaps their cup runs have been a distraction as well. Think they will be in championship again next season minus Stubbs in charge.

Falkirk have shown they are a decent side with bit of spirit about them. I would make vaulks a priority target as I think he has it in him to play at a higher level. He was outstanding against us in both away defeats.

Think Celtic feeder utd are down, can't see any way back for them. Hard to feel any pitty as they have been amongst the most vitriolic in criticism of us and don't seem capable of moving on. Perhaps they should have put as much effort into keeping their own house in order and not selling every decent player they have to Celtic.

Got a few killie supporting friends so hope they stay up.

13 Apr 2016 13:53:33
I am still hoping that Kilmarnock overtake Hamilton Accies but in the event that they are second bottom then I would like to think that they will beat Falkirk or raith Rovers to stay in the SPL.

Certainly Falkirk are a good side but Killie was the only club that didn't vote for us to be relegated to the bottom league.

13 Apr 2016 10:05:20
Watching sky sports news just now, hope that some fans from the dark side are watching, the guy is at Murray park and his opening statement was "welcome to the most successful club in world football" he then listed the amount of league titles we have won and also Scottish cups and league cups! the people from the other mob will be throwing things at the television! haha!

13 Apr 2016 10:53:40
Forfarger, no doubt the guy is part of the worldwide conspiracy that see us as the same club 😁.

13 Apr 2016 11:17:11
Watched it and was pissing myself! Can imagine the veins bursting out of their necks. I must say I've been impressed with the general view from down south welcoming us back to where we belong. Adrian Durham on talksport has been an ally of ours since we were sent down. Apparently he has a ticket for the match on Sunday. Let's hope he has something to shout about.

13 Apr 2016 11:26:31
Guys just stating the truth, sometimes it hurts especially when your a Tim. Enjoy the darkness, you's will be firmly back in our shade.

13 Apr 2016 13:28:28
Wondering if Celtic fans will boycott sky sports news in protest.

Clearly they are biased and part of the grand conspiracy- they employ Jim Whyte surely that's proof enough! Can almost hear the complaint letters being drafted.

13 Apr 2016 07:24:06
