Keep reading rumours about Whitaker Naismith and Lafferty returning personally I hate the way they left our great club but they would improve our squad technically and add grit, all three could walk into most of the spl teams I would rather have them playing for us than against as long as they play for the badge help close the gap so some heart and win back our respect

13 May 2017 00:44:34
I wouldn't have Whittaker or Lafferty if they paid us to play. Naismith would have plenty to offer us.

13 May 2017 01:33:48
Only one i would take is naismith and maybe lafferty at a push. Whittaker isn't any better at defending than tav though would add height and goals to the team

13 May 2017 03:07:42
Whittaker could do a job and has EPL experience, Lafferty I just wouldn't have anywhere near Rangers.

13 May 2017 09:28:16
I'd take Naismith in a heartbeat probably not Whittaker but definitely not lafferty he was shocking the first time around

14 May 2017 10:18:52
Liked Whittaker and Naismith when they were here. That goal against Sporting Lisbon was world class. But after their seedy exit and that ridiculous press conference, a huge no! Lafferty - double no!

Afraid gauld may not come back for us, jack. maybe, dorrans, not even sure we want him. We have to be realistically optimistic. I want to see us aiming high but within budget constraints it is difficult. You never know what may be found but our scouting situation is about as good as our finances. Not great. I hope I am proven wrong but will be a closer battle for second next season. Before anyone gets on my back I would love 1st but the deficit will be cut but the smelly lot over there will win I am afraid. We will come good if the board are generous withi our means and we don't keep dropping so many points to the wrong half of the league.

13 May 2017 02:40:30
We don't have one player playing regular internationally, compared to Celtic,
I couldn't give a monkeys what country Pedro signs his players from but will bet they are better than what we have, now, time will tell .

12 May 2017 18:46:33
Ryan Gauld anyone? I see Sporting are cutting their losses and he's being told he can leave.

12 May 2017 18:11:16
Hello people I notice the Dorrans deal hasn't come up so much in about a week think him and Ryan jack would be great additions but need a bit more of a touch of class in there if wer going to challenge maybe the likes of c. Adam he has a out of the box approach with them three in the middle I think they should add steel at the back with berra I don't want two foreigners at the back I'd much rather have a spine of brittish players if not berra then another commanding center half that doesn't take prisoners easier said than done finding one on the tight budget we have but it can be done also would love moult and Boyce up top not even together just to partner Miller or dodoo and we are crying out for a winger that isn't afraid to go past players and cross the ball not cut inside all the time just stay wide fire the ball out and let him go maybe caden but he's inconsistent for a team like us I'd go for a guy that does it in Europe Dutch leaguefor example has a lot of these guys and could grab them for next to nothing!

No matter how many names are posted on here or any other site, we need MAJOR investment to improve. We don't want anymore signings like Warburton's, most of which were next to useless. Perhaps a major investor will come in during the summer. We need to spend £30 million on new players and clear out the deadwood.

{Ed039's Note - investing with our current infrastructure is complicated though, we can't issue new shares because that option didn't get enough votes to get over the line at the AGM, so either someone will need to come in and buy a significant amount of shares from existing shareholders which none of that purchase goes to the club, it goes to whoever sells their shares and then what happens? Does someone then say I bought shares and here is £30m that I don't want anything in return for it, it's just not feasible with our current set up, any money coming in would be a loan)

13 May 2017 08:46:45
You are right Ed. If you look at the big EPL clubs the people who bankroll them have so much money it doesn't matter to them in terms of a short or medium term return. Maybe the fans can raise money by contributing/ investing £1000 each. If 25,000 fans did that would raise £25 million. However, how that could be put in motion is another story. We live in hope.

12 May 2017 14:21:15
Just been thinking about the squad while all the rumours fly in and I would like to see a few changes but for me these players would stay and go

Keep-Foderingham, Alnwick, Tavernier, Hodson, Wilson, Bates, Wallace, Beerman, Rossiter, Kranjcar, Holt, Miller

Keep/ Go if good offer comes in-Crooks, Windass, McKay, Forrester, O'Halloran, Dodoo

Go-Hill, Senderos, Halliday, Garner, Waghorn.

12 May 2017 14:37:43
Forgot about Kiernan but very much in the go section with that one

12 May 2017 15:43:25
I would add Hodson to the list that I would sell if a decent offer came in. All the others including Kiernan we need to get rid of but with guys like Halliday on long contracts it won't be easy!

The bigger problem however is who comes in, bringing in more mediocre players picked up on free transfers won't help and right now I am struggling to see how we will secure the services of the quality players that we need unless funds have been magical up from somewhere!

12 May 2017 21:20:30
If the likes of Halliday kiernen hodson waghorn garner forrester go bringing in henigen mault volkes Lindsey jack will be no different there the same sort of standard ok they may have had good seasons with there clubs but let's face it the above we are trying to get rid of would also be good players at the likes of Motherwell etc we need a higher standard of player to be were a rangers team need to be

12 May 2017 14:16:55
Not heard any new rumours seems like pedros caught the spy! Hill sprints at 6 in the mornin.

12 May 2017 14:59:53
Thought Hill was on his way out

12 May 2017 16:09:25
Hill hasny sprinted a day in his puff

12 May 2017 13:22:27
Do you think rangers could make an aoudcious move for a player of this

Yaya toure 33
Tevez 33
Torres 32

Could get a player like that for free and give him a higher wage sacrafise 2 signings to pay the fee

That experience could make a difference plus them sort of players are tried and tested look how Celtic got Robbie Keane.

12 May 2017 13:26:40
interesting idea, but wages wouldn't be 2 signings worth, it would be our entire budget gone.

12 May 2017 13:41:22
We don't do EBTs anymore so not a change due to wage demands

12 May 2017 13:59:15
That the same torres that played for athletico in the champions league semi the other night?

12 May 2017 14:29:07
do some research before posting
Tevez is in China and has an annual salary of £31.8 million
Yaya Toure is rumoured to be on £11.6 million &
Torres £3.5 million

12 May 2017 14:35:59
Keane is a celtic supporter so that's why he went. Mind you I heard big Yaya loves watching the gers games in the louden 😂

12 May 2017 15:46:38
I seem to recall that Keane's wages were bankrolled by Dermot Desmond. Who is there at Rangers with that sort of money other than Ashley and he sure isn't interested in Rangers!

12 May 2017 16:05:03
Is keane not a supporter dm for every club he signs at 😂 plus the fact he was on 40,000 a week at least there. i smell EBT 😜😂

12 May 2017 18:11:33
Was Jobby Keane not on 65k per week when at Celtic?

13 May 2017 00:55:53
Keane is a Liverpool supporter apparently. And yes, Desmond did bankroll his wages. This was in the days before Lennoxtown and I heard a cracker of a story at the time about Keane beelin at getting dog shite all over his brand new Adidas at Barrowfield. Or was that Bellamy?

12 May 2017 11:40:08
Feel so annoyed and being linked with the likes of hanigen mault and volkes after the two recent oldfirm games were it showed how far behind Celtic we are is this really the players we are targeting? I hope it's just paper talk But if not and this is what we are after then it's clear there is no money and if no money in this window then there never will be I always said after the oldfirm games this window will prove if we are going to step up and challenge and go for it but just seems like we will pretty much stay as we are with signings like this.

12 May 2017 12:17:01
Deano, I can understand your dissapointment however it's important that we have players in our squad that have experience of our league. that's what's missing from our current crop of players. IMy strikers for next season would be Miller, Naismith, Lafferty and Moult. Two tall and two average sized players. Moult's return for Motherwell speaks for itself.

If anything I want the team to have a Scottish spine to it. That can only be achieved by buying from other Scottish clubs. I would then add some instramental foreigners (they'll probably be Portuguese) .

Remeber we have a foreign coach at the moment, that I think it's fair to say the current players are struggling to understand his instructions. The playing squad need to be able to communiucate effectively and understand each other on the pitch. If you add to many nationalities this and the team identity is lost. We need fight and determination and an undestanding of what Rangers are about next season. The lack of pride this season has been appauling from current players. They simply don't care.

12 May 2017 12:17:03
Deano, Vaulks is a decent player to be fair. His team are poor, but he is decent.

12 May 2017 12:41:50
Got to agree onlyshow, watched Vaulks a few times when at Falkirk, l think there is really good player I. There

12 May 2017 19:28:29
Vaulks is good player watched him few times at falkirk aswell just playing in bad side so your correct onlyshow

12 May 2017 11:18:22
Been reading about Louis Moult and how he'd be scoring for fun if he joins Rangers. I recall reading the same thing about Nicky Clark from QOS. Didn't happen, not many goals and not much fun. We haven't experienced a prolific striker for years and I take the scoring for fun title with a huge pinch of salt.

12 May 2017 13:11:12
As you can see from waghorn, its a lot easier scoring for fun against part time boys in the lower leagues. moult has done it the premier league this year.

12 May 2017 16:58:13
I think moult is worth a shout not too keen on big cd but think moult would score a few goals for us.

12 May 2017 18:13:14
kfraser the difference with Nicky Clarke and any other striker was that Nicky Clarke never got a chance under mccoist.

13 May 2017 00:53:34
Moult has scored in spl Clarke hadn't.
