I see Celtic agree fee with Motherwell for young lad Turnbull . I feel we should have been looking at this boy . Time will tell if we have made a mistake by missing out .

12 Jun 2019 19:05:51
Disappointed if he winds up there.

12 Jun 2019 19:18:39
I am maybe jumping the gun here but could this mean that Joe Aribo has chosen to sign for Rangers. A better player at a fraction of the cost. I hope so.

12 Jun 2019 19:20:08
50k for Kamara
3 mil for Turnbull.
I know who I’d pick every day of the week.
But as you said time will tell.

12 Jun 2019 19:54:22
Tell you what if they are to play turnbull instead of rogic i would take that every day of the week. he's to us what lovenkrands or albertz was to them.

12 Jun 2019 20:07:28
Totally in agreement with Abomb1982 on this one. Although i rate young david turnbull, i totally trust gerrard in obviously choosing joe aribo over david turnbull. This is now clearly obvious and rangers rate aribo a better attacking midfielder than david turnbull, simple as that guys. We can't sign all the midfielders we're linked to.

12 Jun 2019 20:21:44
Blue89 I see your point but money for Turnbull Vs what we paid for grezda? Works both ways mate.

And Our no one has said that at all, remember to pick up your reading glasses after your lie down .

12 Jun 2019 20:46:23
As much as i think young turnbull is a good midfielder, tell me fellow bears who would you drop from our current midfield, to play him? My straight and frank answer to that is i'd drop nobody, as he's not good enough to get into our starting midfield.

12 Jun 2019 21:39:17
Why wouldn’t celtic pay that fee for McGinn lol but do it for turnbull. Turnbull like the rest of young Scottish players that end up there will get lost in their reserves and forgotten about.

12 Jun 2019 22:25:56
Lh86

Maybe when you you finish your primary school education you will not feel the need to pore through the comments on a forum for a team you do not support.

All your Hahas and lols do make you appear to be a bit childish. Are you sure you are not Timalloy in disguise or does he just pass on his Beano to you when he is finished looking at all the pictures?

12 Jun 2019 22:28:05
Our midfield is flying . don’t disrupt it for anything . bring it on.

12 Jun 2019 22:44:25
We could certainly afford him Lh however it would be a decent chunk of our budget gone on a guy who wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter. We have priorities elsewhere in the team and hopefully we’ll spend our money wisely this year!

12 Jun 2019 23:24:15
Lh86 usual green tinted no one said aribo is better than Turnbull abomb said he Hope's he turns out better and from what I'm reading from the rest is that SG clearly rates Aribo over Turnbull and where u getting can't afford check out the past 4 transfer windows Rangers have match and out spent your mob.

Celtic 3 mill on a players is that liewell spending some of the cash he saved on employing a second rate manager
Also if you look through your own rumours site a lot of your own fans clearly rated Aribo.

I'm quite happy your team have signed this boy because imo that was an area on the park where your team are strongest. So it 3 mill less in your budget to improve the areas that really need improving ie CH, full backs and a striker.

12 Jun 2019 23:59:07
well you wouldn’t know aribo if you bumped into him in the street either timmy so how do you know aribo ain’t any better

think you are maybe getting wee bit confused

seems to me Kamara at 50k as a full international who ran rings round lego is a far better player than 3m from
an unproven teenager from bottom 6

but whatever makes you feel better.

13 Jun 2019 00:27:04
Looks a player but centre mid isn't somewhere we need to be strengthening money would be better spent on other positions.

12 Jun 2019 23:58:30
Lh86 doesn't really matter if we could or could not afford him we've got the best midfielder in Scotland in Glen kamara who made a laughing stock out of Scott brown Lol .

13 Jun 2019 01:08:43
Turnbull will be the new Scott allan.

13 Jun 2019 01:46:10
if its a competition of highlight reels then aribo wins hands down.

13 Jun 2019 05:39:47
Trev no7 is spot on. Glen kamara made an absolute a**e of the lego muncher and the rest of their midfield, in the old firm game. As did scotty arfield who lego muncher just can't handle or get near. Our midfield area is currently superb, so why pay Ł3million on another midfielder, who won't get into our starting 11.That dough is much needed, on other positions within our team.

13 Jun 2019 10:00:30
Well said Coop.

13 Jun 2019 10:43:14
the reason rangers didn't sign turnbull is because you can't afford to spend the money, you have got a bargain in kamara but they don't come along to often, mean while celtic can spend money when they want to.

13 Jun 2019 11:21:46
They will prob loan him back to Motherwell, he will then be available to play against everyone except them. A daft rule Celtic use well.

13 Jun 2019 11:25:00
dillits care to show me anything official that states we where in for Turnbull he's a standout in a bottom 6 spl team! I think you need a bit of perspective lol.

13 Jun 2019 12:29:28
someone mentioned Turnbull will end up like Allan and i agree

we are talking about who we would drop for him but who do celtic drop for him? as he's classed as more of a an attacking midfielder then Mcgregor and Christie are their 2 main picks so his game time will be extremely limited

another talented scottish youngster who will be wasted.

13 Jun 2019 12:52:38
barrow lad rangers are not in a position to spend 3million on a young promising footballer i think most would agree, celtic are in a position financially to take a chance on such players, unless rangers sell one of their better player and i do believe they have some good players that would bring money in to the club then they have to hope they find some more kamara's.

13 Jun 2019 14:18:50
How do you know what financial position we are in? You have to laugh at all the cardboard accountants from the other side. I'd suggest that perhaps we have more disposable capital than you at the moment, if you know what I mean?

13 Jun 2019 15:12:42
one assist against a top 3 team. 3 goals against the next 3 and the rest, including penalties, against the bottom 6. not seeing 3 mill from anybody and not seeing 300K either for that matter. please, go ahead, waste your money.

13 Jun 2019 16:53:58
seeker you can't spend any money because king will need it to give to big mike.

12 Jun 2019 12:41:23
I'm just wondering with the transfer window now open I'm really surprised that there has been no mention of Greg Stewart. I thought this deal would have been announced on the first day of the transfer window opening if infact we are signing him or was it all just paper talk as per.

12 Jun 2019 13:05:31
Hope it was paper talk.

12 Jun 2019 13:57:05
If he comes can we give him a chance? We need a squad not just a starting11 if he does sign someone at the club with possibly a greater knowledge of scouting than us sees something we will never have a first 11 of world beaters looking back John Brown not the greatest player but what a difference he would make. this boy Stewart is on the back foot before he's pulled a top on.

12 Jun 2019 14:54:42
I got told his contract didn't run out till 30th june, so will be anounced after i'd imagine.

12 Jun 2019 16:37:54
Correct, Fergie, nothing can be finalised or announced until his contract is up. Some people on here are a bit hard of thinking.

12 Jun 2019 17:24:50
Daisy yore was looking back at your previous posts your very negative person and appear to enjoy correcting other fans posts without adding any meaningful content yourself.

12 Jun 2019 17:27:56
What you on about? Players get announced before their contract is up all the time. Jordon Jones was announced in January or something amd Hastie 2 month ago. So if anybody is hard of think. am not pointing any elbows!

12 Jun 2019 20:10:07
Jones was announced he'd signed a precontract, but he's not officially signed until his contract with Killie runs out
Same with Hastie. It's why the Well fans booed him.

12 Jun 2019 20:18:43
To be fair guys hastie and jones had signed pre contracts, anyway chill out think stewart will be announced after the 30th no great shakes imo but we shall see.

12 Jun 2019 21:18:24
Stewart is a massive bluenose and is definitely signing, he will have been told he’s not a guaranteed starter and will have to prove he deserves a jersey. As soon as he pulls on that top he deserves nothing but the fans full backing. The negativity on here towards some of our players is brutal. Get behind the team or bite your tongue and take your negativity somewhere else.

13 Jun 2019 01:03:23
he is contracted till the 30th. then .

13 Jun 2019 01:07:50
Cheers fergie1981

Ibrox found i think the problem with regards to Greg S signing is that SG has stated that he was want to add quality rather than quantity. Imo most fans see GS as in the quantity bracket.
However he was free and has shown that he can play in this league at a good level. So could prove to be a shrewd piece of business. Time will tell if he does sign. In SG we trust.

I'm also looking for you guys thoughts on Dorrans. Was reading today that he maybe leaving our club.
This one I think could come back to bite us and we may regret letting him go as a full fit Dorrans would definitely push Arfield for that number 10 role. Yes I get his injury record is shocking but he is fit now and with a good pre season could be an asset.

The other option would be a loan for 6 months to prove his fitness and build up match sharpness.
Thoughts guys n girls
Thoughts.

13 Jun 2019 03:01:04
its hard to say who is better, but i would like younger guys playing in the team like Rossiter and Docherty.

13 Jun 2019 08:52:17
Feel for dorrans no doubt he was a player but we never saw it due to injury think that ship has sailed now.

13 Jun 2019 14:25:17
I agree IF, I really feel for Dorrans as I believe he could have been very good for us. Greg Stewart definitely has something and will shine in a good team. Rossiter and Docherty, and even McCrorie I feel sorry for as game time will be limited. And what about Murphy?
Great time to be a bear just now. I can feel it i'm my water that we are going to you know what next season!

12 Jun 2019 11:31:06
Maybe its me, maybe I just don't get it really. But this anti scotland thing is going over my head. Name the rangers players that could walk into the scotland team? Clarke is a poor manager which I have said before, McLeish is a far better manager, its the players that are poor, they don't turn up. Look at N. I. players playing for a team they love, I don't see it with scotland. But Clarke is now the manager and as much as I don't rate him I will still be behind the team, but guys come on, do you honestly think the SFA and scotland backroom staff have some secret agenda to stop rangers playing for the national team? Do you believe we landed on the moon? A manager is not going to risk his job by 'hating' a club that much that he doesn't pick there players. The 'SFA' aren't going to force us to not win anything. We didn't win anything, that's nothing to do with SFA, that's players and managers. Just seems like some of you are looking for someone/ thing to blame.
Yes Clarke spoke about the abuse he received from US. but not much about the boyd thing, but boyd did speak about it. You don't know if boyd told him not to mention it and forget it. Its conjecture.

12 Jun 2019 12:12:07
Sorry you lost me at saying Big Eck is the better of the two managers. Respect for Big Eck but he is well past it.

12 Jun 2019 18:59:12
Snell, he is 4 years older than Clarke and is not required to play football anymore. For the life of me I can't get my head roind why Clarke would be a better appointment. The group of players is probably the poorest for a long time. If you thought results were bad under Eck just wait and see what is in store for you under the jakey Clarke. Batten down the hatches lol.

12 Jun 2019 20:24:34
Think Clarke is a doughnut (putting it very mildly) but he did do some job at Killie and I will happily admit that.

No need to batten down anything here though Seeker mate totally apathetic to the Scotland team! Not actively hoping they lose but not interested in watching either ?.

13 Jun 2019 01:01:30
It’s not the fact there are no rangers players that pissed me off, it’s the fact he called up 4 goalkeepers for 2 games, and also called up players like Brophy, Morgan, mulgrew Devlin and mcnulty, players that should be no where near the squad.

13 Jun 2019 01:06:05
Stevie Clarke has won nothing as a manager. Yes he did well at killie but he hasn't suddenly made Scotland a better side. Eck maybe is past it now but his managerial career is better than Clarkes.

13 Jun 2019 14:28:31
I'm the same Snell. Not really bothered one way or another about Scotland. It's all about the Rangers for me.

12 Jun 2019 08:59:14
Not a rumour but I was well impressed with the Finnish left back last night. Know nothing about him, couldn't hear pub TV;
he may cost millions or be 40 years old everyone else may know him but he had a good game last night.

12 Jun 2019 11:13:46
Jere Uronen, and plays for Genk. 24 I think and out of our league currently.
yep a very decent lb.

12 Jun 2019 13:00:56
wouldn't say any Genk player would be out our league. In fact, if he got a move to us he would get recognized quicker by big clubs rather than Genk. Plus the fact, we are a massive club compared to Genk.

12 Jun 2019 18:12:17
origi benteke de bruyne castagne and courtouis all came through at Genk

they are a club who develop and produce some cracking players

they would not ‘get recognised quicker at us’ simply because with this quality of player coming through their ranks they are already very well scouted.

13 Jun 2019 01:05:50
The Belgium league is a lot stronger than the spl! We are a bigger club than most clubs in the English premier league we stil couldn’t compete with any of them financially!

12 Jun 2019 00:05:15
Just after watching a first part, half hour interview with our former left winger neil mccann, on RTV in our trophy room today.
Really worth listening to fellow bears, as the wee man talks superbly. You can hear in his voice how fond and proud he is, of his time as a rangers player. He speaks very confidently about how good a team rangers were, when he was there. I certainly will never forget us beating them to win the league at the breezeblock boulevard in 1999,to win the league at celtic park.

I had a ticket for that game and we destroyed them 3-0, with mccann playing through the middle that day and scoring a double. Big jorg albertz scored the other with a penalty. It was the first time in our history that we actually won the league at celtic park. Mccann is part of history and etched in that special occasion for ever. Wee neily was a terrific winger for rangers and in general. Always had a helluva lot of time for mccann and met him on a good few occasions. Also had the pleasure of speaking to his late dad eddie, outside the bill struth main stand. He was so proud that his son played for rangers.

12 Jun 2019 09:35:43
Coop, mentioned on here before, you're right, his dad Eddie was a cracking we guy and so proud of Neil, as was his mum, Mary. A great signing at a great time for the club.

12 Jun 2019 09:53:50
Great plsyer and just plain and simply a nice guy. Wish he was playing nowadays.

12 Jun 2019 12:13:06
Had the pleasure of dealing with him on occasion in a previous job. A nicer, more down to earth guy you could not hope to meet.
