highlandbear our club is a total shambles from top to bottom manger and players on high wages that ain't good anuf we have young players at the club that would have been capable of getting us up the leauges and saved money coaches that can not coach no scouts either and a board that just keep helping there self to our money with the level of bonuses and pay they take out
its the same board just difrent faces they need to earn the fans trust and am afraid they have had long anuf to prove to us its the money that they and our manager are wasting that really anoys me what happens when board run out of money cause they will we the fans need to no who owns margarita holdings and blue pitch and deserve to no who owns these companys

@ op exactly mate the money that comes in from the share issue and other monies that come in will maybe only gt us to the end of the season also will the amount brought in from the shares be added to the 16m debt we owe to the parent company

Agree0 Disagree0

OP I pretty much agree with your post.
At first pass though the action of King and the UOF seems to have failed and strengthened the position of the mysterious investors if another shares issue is used simply to plug the hole of the missing season ticket money. Looks like a hole below the waterline for our club. Hope I am wrong though.

Although telfer deal is a disappointment we have to see this club for what it is. Yes, I would love to see young 19-26 year old signings rather than miller et al but we have to understand, 1. The financial constraints that we ar seemingly in, 2. The expense of younger players is bound to be much greater as they have a far wider range of potential suitors than older players, 3. We are playing in the scottish championship so th majority of other clubs in the uk are seen as a step up, despite our history, meaning that to simply attract players we must offer through the nose wages. For that reason I'm allowing the signings we've made to prove they are, still, worthy. Mccoist on the other hand I am not totally supportive of. Just my view

Believable0 Unbelievable0

OP did you miss the interview with the big striker who used to play for Queen of the South and Hearts and Kilmarnock whose name escapes me but who had a history of injuries? Kevin somebody? He stated that the players could not believe the wages they were being offered and he personally would have played for a quarter of the money he received.
Also Telfer would have been a far far cheaper option than Miller and as an attacking midfielder who scores a lot of goals would have been a shoe in for most clubs in the Championship who are in a perilous financial state.
So yes the cream of the crop youngsters - possibly like Stevie May we cannot afford but players who are described as real "gems" by our own manager and were already on the payroll should be ahead of more expensive older players when you are as skint as we are. So the likes of Black who has now had two full seasons of largely unimpressive displays slowing down the pace of the game to a level that is comfortable for part time opposition players are okay with you?

Some of us would be a bit more frugal with our clubs money and a bit more concerned about value for money and our club's ultimate survival or otherwise.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nbear I think your looking for kevin kyle name of player that couldn't believe money been paid to our players

Agree0 Disagree0

@OP. ". meaning that to simply attract players we must offer through the nose wages. "

Sorry I don't buy that. We only need players to win the league we are in and guess what? Championship (League 1) sides attract players every year and every year one ofhte teams manages to get promoted. Last season two managed. They were not offering 'through the nose' wages. The money wasted on players wages over the last two years has been horrendous

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers tmwnn- old age is a helluva thing. I was leaning towards Kevin Kline but knew that wasn't right. Kevin Kyle how could I forget his classic contributions to the cause?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nae bother nbear I don't know who kevin kline is but I know his brother calvin in fact ime sitting on him right now lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I see the points that the replies are pointing out however you are missing the point. Rangers and ally CANNOT afford to not be promoted unlike the teams that steddy is describing. Both parties know this and are clearly not confident that the current players and youth players are assured of getting us promoted so, whether you like it or not, they are reverting to tried and tested solutions and thinking that the extra money they pay now will be less than the hit taken should promotion not be achieved. Obviously, however, trying to understand the signings rather than launching immediate scathing attacks on manager and board (as well as people such as myself who believes this approach is wrong but at least has the decency to attempt to understand) is too much to ask! If you can't see that there is no room for error in this situation and that ally and that the clear approach taken is to attempt to minimise risk of not getting promoted by spending now rather than risking later then you clearly have no understanding of the reality of the situation rangers are in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fraser we all know the scipt its the wages part that's not right players that have signed before now could have been got on less wages ask k miller and mcgregor that have signed for a lot less wages than the other guys

Giving McCoist the benefit of the doubt and I do believe him when he says he's sorry to see Telfer, who he rates as a real talent, leave, you've got to wonder if the youngster has made a bad career move. Maybe McCoist was nurturing him and keeping him away from some of the boot boys of the 1st division.

I can't think of a single player in our history who wanted out of the club to a Dundee United or the likes when he was sitting with such a bright future ahead of him at Ibrox.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How do you know he had such a bright future ahead of him? We had the title wrapped up last season and McCoist still wouldn't give him a chance in the team. If anything, the reason he has moved on is a GOOD step in his career, as sad as that is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Beleive your right boy had no chance with macoist I macoist was sorry why did he not speak with him to try another year and he would give him some first team football (which we all know would not happen)

Agree0 Disagree0

Yoou are right. In normal circumstances no one leave Rangers with a bright future to join Dundee Utd. But with Super Pally at the helm the boy had no future at Rangers. Super Pally only pick his mates and players he has had a history with. No riks and no tactics.

The boy's probably had a look at Andy Robertson at Dundee United who went from the lowest tier of Scottish football to playing international football and looking the part in the space of a year and realised he would get at least get a good run of games at United.

Whereas if he stuck with McCoist's Rangers he'd likely just sit on a bench even during Ramsden's Cup matches because 'Super' is too scared to even blood youngsters in a meaningless tournament.

Can't blame the lad's ambition.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kfraser, how can you give Ally the benefit of the doubt!. He rates the lad but let's him go!. The only thing young Telfer would have been sitting on is the bench. We have now seen Ally's signing policy in action where has re-signed KM and now signed Darren McGregor (Ally says he has watched St mirren loads of times, yeah, only against the tims when they were on tv) whilst Dundee Utd have now signed the aforementioned Telfer, Robertson & now Blair Spittal from QP, players that played against us 4 times season before last, yet he could'nt see they were worth a chance. Sadly the bottom line is, any youngster who fancies 1st team football ain't going to get it at Ibrox while this incompetant is "manager".

Agree0 Disagree0

OP you are clearly a nicer chap than some of us on here as you are willing to overlook some verbal inaccuracies from the manager. Also to accept a policy which we cannot really afford which is always go for experience over youth and potential.
I hope your loyalty and faith in a chap some of us now see as deeply flawed and not remotely up to the job is rewarded.
I have my doubts your loyalty to wee Ally will be rewarded but wish you well. I cannot prove to you he is not the man for the job just as I cannot prove to you Father Christmas does not exist it is just rather obvious to some of us and clearly less obvious to some on here.
If you are a young footballer with a future and a youthful former Scottish Internationalist who has had success with his first two managerial appointments and has a reputation for giving youth a real chance offers you a 3 year contract will you grab that chance?
You probably will if you see your current manager who prefers experience and who has just signed a 34 year old former internationalist and the rumour mill is ripe that he is about to sign another former internationalist only 30 years old.
You see statements such as "Youth will always get a chance at Ibrox" are just inaccurate empty pointless wordsmithing if it doesn't actually happen.
Sadly young Telfer has made the correct decision in my opinion if he wanted a real chance at first team football. And if he is a "gem" as his previous "manager" belatedly claims then he should be a real success at Tannadice and good luck to the lad. Looks like another one that got away but only time will tell.

at ED my security software flags up dangerous or possibly dangerous files every time I log onto this site ( only in the last two or three days) but doesn't for any other football or non football related site. Has anybody else mentioned this or is it just an old man disorder?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - security software will often flag up issues from sites that are based on servers that don't work with them (often it can involve them paying to be considered 'safe'). We do not put anything on the sites that could be considered dangerous, except for it maybe objecting to cookies to allow you to stay logged in? Other than that, we don't use anything, I am pretty sure the company that hosts our sites on their servers don't either.}
