sorry if this is out of order ed but it my reply to a post lower down the page just would like the guys and gals to read read and reply, not trying to hog the limelight but think it has to be highlighted cheers

SG75 Agree but we have to be truthful and in almost every year of Murray era we overspent. He always said we don't need European football to balance the books that was a bonus, we now know that was a lie even with European football we couldn't balance the books. We loved winning leagues and cups but we did it with players we couldn't afford so Murray then started the EBT scheme to balance the books, and we paid a terrible price for years and years of overspending. I remember when SDM stepped down the 1st time after loses of £29m for the 1st 6 months (john mc clelend became chairman) we read it 7 pages into the sport pages, the next 6 month loses were £10m a wee bit on the middle pages of the record, meanwhile Aberdeen make a loss of a million pound and it was a 3 page spend back page and 2 inside. that's my bugbear murray's media lap dogs never highlighted any of our financial problem all was great SIR David will save the day, these lap dogs are still in place (some even say CW wealth off the radar and ally is a football genius) so look at the big picture investigate on the web for your self- misinformation was one of the biggest part of trouble, that and SDM ego and overspending- and as one of our poster is called this post is nothingbutthetruth

Good old hindsight, how clever we all are when the facts are laid out cold. I think all fans are aware that Murrays financial model was flawed, but once again as fans there was very little we could do, the story is similar to the ones being played out in the premiership at the moment, lots of teams with big debts but servicing them off the back of sky money what happens if this slows or stops, Man u over 500 million in debt because of the way the club was bought, I watch my football team, I have little influence over what happens in the boardroom I just hope we have decent people involved, there is along list of clubs that have fallen foul to irresponsible owners we were just another. So gather up all your evidence and produce it in a told you so article, but it is just too late.

Is it any wonder so many Bears supported David Murray over the years? His lap dog press were certainly determined to pump us with his propaganda for years on end and anybody speking out against him like Hugh Adam, who sold his shares over a decade ago saying that they would soon become worthless was pilloried.

By the way does anybody know if how much he's paid back from the six million plus EBT loan that he awarded himself?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mullad, I do not understand your initial comment, unless you think your thunder has been taken from you OR perhaps, you have a patent on certain subject. The rest I agree with totally.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dave murray offered us a share scheme when he told us we neede money I think it raised about 10 grand so he took 50 million from murray international metal and put it into rangers fc that was around 2004 so his legal ebt monay ie 6 million doesn't bother me in the least we had our best time under david murray and let's face it 6 million for 20 years of his reign was not much

I am sick to my back teeth with people trying to condone murray's actions. No matter the decision on the 'big' tax case, we were on the brink anyway. He used the money from Rangers to keep his bank debt serviced and who brought whyte to the table? Everything he does is to suit 'numero uno' and anyone who cannot see this does not know the man. This whole scenario, I believe, has been very well planned, with the sole purpose of making money for certain individuals. Rangers, in their current state, are perfect for a using and we are a very suitable, gullible target for these opportunists.

Debt was on way down 18m & the chairman at the time said was manageable, then enter whyte HE never paid any tax at all 21mil I believe & that with the BIG. TAX issues was what put us under,so if whyte had been genuine this sh** would never have happened

£18m was only what was owed to the bank. Yes, it was technically on the way down but only if you take a VERY short time scale. Look longer and the trajectory looks very different

i see mcausland and scott gallacher are not in the travelling party, and are not listed as injured. does this mean they are no longer in ally's plans? also no mention of bouzid so I take it he's away since zaliukas signed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wait and see, don't get your knickers in a twist.

Signing the like of Boyd, Miller, Zaliukas and McGregor is all well and good to add some bite and experience to the squad, but surely, surely, McCoist must now play McLeod, Mackay, Crawford, Clark, Gallagher, Templeton, Hutton and Gasporotto on a regular basis too? He must dump Black who is useless and Law who was a major disappointment last season. We'd still have players like Smith, Faure, Moshni, Foster and McCulloch as back up.
Hutton was very good when he first broke into the first team. Perhaps injury has affected him. Templeton is much, much better than we saw last season. My starting XI against Hearts:
Bell; McAusland, Zaliukas, McGregor, Wallace; McLeod, Mackay, Templeton, Aird; Boyd, Miller. Subs: Gallacher, McCulloch, Gasporotto, Moshni, Crawford

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Doiger do you not think that midfield is a bit lightweight.
I know black is a bit of an enigma but I would give him 5 or 6 games to prove his worth.
Also I think Hutton if given a decent run in the team could do ok. anytime I've seen him he rarely gives the ball away and always looks to make passes. I know not everyone's cup of tea but deserves a chance.
My 11 would be
Bell, mcausland, wallace, zaliukas, mcgregor, hutton, black, mckay, temps, boyd and miller.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP this is a good side but for me its far to attacking as effectively you have four up front and no ball winner in midfield, that is why I think we need either Black or Hutton (never both ) in midfield also I don't know what you have seen of Mcausland that would promote him from being loaned out last season to first team regular but its getting exciting now that we are getting close to the start of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigcol1872. No problem with Hutton getting a run. I remember his great goal against Celtic in what was I think his debut! Don't like Black though.

Agree0 Disagree0

What is it with everyone with wanting McAusland in the team very over rated foster is poor but this young lad is not the answer , and Mackay over law no chance .
My team would be : Bell , Wallace , Zaliukas, McGregor , Foster , Templeton , Law , Black, Aird, Boyd ,Miller

Agree0 Disagree0

Would have to totally agree with bigcol1871, I think in your team DOIGER the midfield is a bit too light, my rangers starting 11 would be-bell, faure, mcgregor, zaliukas, wallace, law, black, mcleod, templeton, boyd, miller

Agree0 Disagree0

Doiger I don't like him either but he does give us a wee bit of dig in the midfield.
Gazza your team I think won't be far away although you would be better with me at right back and I'm a cripple than faure. offers nothing I've seen so far.

What's with everyone not wanting Mcausland to get his chance why shouldn't he get the chance to prove himself lucky if he's started 4 games in his life for Rangers? I saw him play 1st two home games of last season & he was very good at RB never put a foot wrong defensively got up the line I was impressed. Why should Fosters place be nailed down? He's so bad that's why all of us want to see McAusland because he won't be any worse get off the lads f****ng back he's not had a god damn chance! Play youth play youth now there not good enough before they've had there chance no wonder our teams f****d most fickle contradicting & blinkered fans on the planet! Huttons debut was against Manchester United in the champions league played ok that night given the circumstances.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know bigcol1872 where you're coming from regarding the biggest problem area we have ie. the rb position, I'm not all that keen on faure to be perfectly honest but I think he's a slightly better option than any of our other so called right backs, I've said this many, many times, we should never have let young jordan mcmillan go, that guy would be our established rb by now if mccoist had kept him

Agree0 Disagree0

Larky a really think you should just say wot you feel!!haha. btw your a 100% spot on.

looked up mcmillans career file it states he was offered a 3 year deal to stay at the club but HE chose to reject it so as previously stated he was not let go HE chose to leave stating he wasnt "being greedy but was looking for regular first team football"

You are bang on the money there Larky- totally agree. And why give Black 5 or 6 games he has had 2 full seasons. Black also stifles Law so hopefully with MacLeod back with Law in central midfield we won't need the bite, bookings and back passes.

Bell
Foster Zaluiskas Gasparotto Wallace
Macleod Murdoch Law
Mackay Templeton
Boyd

Should give this team a try, like the look of it apart from foster haha!

Agree0 Disagree0

Who mcausland the white cafu? Aye right

Agree0 Disagree0

Nbear I would quite happy swap black with Hutton but I can just see our "incredible"support lambasting the kid after a few bad games. nae passes!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2014 14:43:48
Bigcol I just do not like Black one iota. I am a bit like this poster 13 who slaughters McAusland and anything anti Ally. But hey its all about opinions and I ain't a big fan of Hutton either but for me if MacLeod and Law are our central midfielders I will be reasonably happy. We just need something to happen down the right hand side and it didn't happen with Foster and Peralta or Faure and Peralta and although he has pace to burn Aird still wants to come infield too much for me. Let him or young Barry stay on the wing get down the line and whip the balls across please.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nbear your opinions are noted and will be passed onto the dug!lol
For the record I'm not anti ally I just think he is a guff manager and if the form doesn't improve this season we won't go up. agree with your two mids but law has to get his finger out as bears are losing patience with him. looking forward to the hearts game to see where we are.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2014 19:41:10
No need to pass on to the dug he already knows -we have a telepathic relationship- it's almost as if we were the same species that's how I generally agree wi his teams.
Now hawd on tae ah lick ma bhaws.

If you think Ally is a guff manager then you are as anti-Ally as some of us. Nobody wants any ill to come to him and wish him a long and happy retirement- he just shouldn't be a football manager.

And yes the season could be really exciting with Hearts in particular a real threat but Hibs and Falkirk also.

There will be more interest in the Championship than the top league this season for a lot of people
