I think personally that ally has publicly declared his interest in kenny miller to warn dundee utd that goodwillie isn't the only striker we could go for and that the next offer we make will be the last.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

12 Jul 2011 22:40:16
goodwillie was at the rangers friendly tonight and not on the dundee utd bus

Wot rangers freindly? aren't rangers in germany?

hi ed who might rangers face in the champions league qualifier, which will be drawn on friday. {Ed001's Note - I am not sure mate, the best place to find out would be the UEFA website, some matches have yet to take place.}

I would like to see kenny miller back. He only left because he had to. I'm thinking him and big jelavic would cause havoc. Miller caused havoc himself so the 2 of them all season would easily hit 40 goals. Which spl defenders would stop them??

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Miller chased the big money mate, no shame in that.

now that mccoist has reaffirmed his desire to secure a 'marquee' signing, who do you fellow bears reckon this will be REALISTICALLY?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

David Villa or Lee Wallace

Agree1 Disagree0

Kenny miller....

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd guess that it'll be a loan signing late in the transfer window. We don't have the money to sign a big name so we might look at bringing in someone who isn't in an EPL club's plans. Unless Messi has always dreamed of playing Dunfermline in December

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2011 21:10:40
kenny miller will not come back to rangers. if rangers really wanted him back they could have swapped whittaker(who is pish imo) for miller and then replaced a rb rather than a st. cheaper to buy a good rb than a good st. this is only my opinion but we all no its right. lol

Reality check time.

Whyte will only authorize minimum amount of spending as long as this tax case hands around the clubs neck. What is the point in him spending more money if the debt comes streaming back in the case we get lumped with a mammoth bill? There will be no large wages either unless it's on a very lengthy contract meaning we could potentially cash in on players such as McGregor. No Reo Coker, Pavlychenko, Cole, Roque or any other well known players. I reckon Goodwillie may still happen but he will be our biggest buy.

As for this 'marquee signing.' I love super Ally but I think he tends to let his mouth run a bit and people jump on throwaway comments.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

12 Jul 2011 20:23:44
A marquee signing? Get real everybody. Apart from anything, we are a "team". The last thing we need is a gig name mercenary. won the league on spirit, and I enjoyed it more than any other recent season. Lets keep with a British core ad march on 2 4IAR.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

The marquee signing will be atent in govan to annouce the opening of the new

Sick of the anti-Miller bigrade already and the guy hasn't even signed. Let's just clear this up for all the idiots who are slating the guy.

Kenny Miller was offered a contract to stay with Rangers on HALF the money he was already on. He turned it down, as anyone would do. Once this happened, Rangers forced him out the door so they wouldn't lose him for nothing at the end of the season. People saying he "left us when we needed him most" or "he jumped ship for the money", answer this, if you were insulted by being offered half your normal wage, and then your employers tried to force you out, and you got the chance of trebling your salary elsewhere, would you accept it? Anyone whose honest knows they WOULD do the same thing.

You idiots weren't slating Kenny when he was scoring every week before he left.

I say bring Kenny back asap, he's shut you lot up before, I'd love to see him do it again.

There's only one Kenny Miller

Believable6 Unbelievable1

100% agree with u well said m8

Agree2 Disagree0

If miller had stayed until the end of the season when his contact expired, he would have been payed his contractual salary until then.
Rangers could not influence his departure in January, that was his choice to leave then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because people don't want Miller back doesn't make them idiots pal. I'd rather see Goodwillie at Ibrox than Miller, does that make me an idiot? {Ed001's Note - tone down the language please, this is not an adult site.}

Agree1 Disagree0

But they made it blatantly obvious they wanted and needed the money. Therefore, you cannot blame him for not wantin to stay where he is no longer wanted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Naw you're entitled to your opinion of who you'd rather have, but if the reason why you specifically wouldn't want Miller to come back is because he left in January then aye... you are an idiot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree mate - would rather see goodwillie than miller - hes younger, if we sell him later on he could be worth 3-4 million maybe more. millers value will only will only drop. both will score roughly the same amount of goals and offer the same style of play - although millers energy is a plus

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2011 20:46:54
Lee Wallace will most definetly not be joining rangers. Stop getting your hopes up that we will sign him

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I think we might end up getting him but not in this transfer window. Romanov won't sell to Rangers so we'll have to wait and try to get him on a pre contract in January and even then Romanov would rather pay him to sit on the bench than sell him to us.

Where is this 10 million to rebuild the squad? Not sure of Craig whyte now, maybe I'm just paranoid because for the first time in 3 seasons there is a chance of getting players gerguy

Believable2 Unbelievable0

There never was 10 mill to build the team , 20 mill over 5 seasons sadly thats it , we have got to be realistic if you think this is bad can you imagine what it would be like without CL money .Ps have you seen some of the teams we may have to play DODGY

What has changed in Millers mind that the offer from the board will all of a sudden be acceptable Ok he will score goals but surely now is the time to look forward and not back

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Miller will go wherever the money is. He's proved this in the past when he chose to sign for the darkside. If Septic came in this time around and offered him more dough he would probably end up over there again. Would anyone be surprised?

Agree0 Disagree1

12 Jul 2011 18:44:08
Kenny Miller is only desperate for a return to rangers because we are the only club stupid enough to take him back for a 3rd time.
he dingied us in our hour of need - noone else jumped ship so he cant use that as an excuse.
he's no better than bougy thinking the grass is always greener on the other side - and when they figure out its not they pledge alledgance(spelling) to Rangers.

nothing but users - they dont play for the badge - i wouldnt rescue millers career again if you personally paid me the transf fee.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

12 Jul 2011 17:37:39
McCoist is a laugh suggesting that lots of Clubs in Englan would be interested in Miller. How many wanted him befor he went to Turkey?

McCoist is trying to get people to believe the return of Miller would be a big deal - is this the marquee signing he has been on about?

Also, how does the prospect of a Miller return sit with the Whyte promise to bring in quality players? - seems to me to well below that statement

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Here Muppet if it wasn't for Millers goals the first half of the season we would have lost the league to the Septic i think Miller and Jelavic would tear any defence in the spl apart so i think he would be a great signing again

Agree8 Disagree1

Spot on Tony, short memories on here.Kenny has proved time and time again he works hard wherever he plays. Footballers are not loyal just folk doing a job. If they do it well braw All this loyalty, judas, user pish is just the ramblings of folk who would love the chance to play for the Gers and live in a fantasy world. It's a job end of story

quite a few posts about king kenny and how he wont be back, dont you think that if the rangers website has 2 pages on how ally is speaking to him that there must be some truth in it? hopefully ally is not that naive that it is a non starter and if the goodwillie deal is dead then miller is the answer. mon the teddy bears, watp.

IF I will £166 million on the euromillions tonight, I will personally sit down with Ally and negotiate to buy him Miller, Goodwillie, Wallace and Cuellar, with the one condition that he gets it right roon Sellick and whispers something nice in Lemons ear again

That's no rumour, if I win I am at ibrox tomorrow

Kenny Miller awaiting talks with Ally for a return to ibrox. I personally dont want to see a return. Bursaspor are looking for a hefty price for him after we basicly gave him away for nothing and with all the Witiker (spelling) declines, we most likely wont get him.

12 Jul 2011 16:39:20
Why are we trying to invest in old mediocre players like kenny miller?

Unfortunately I think that ally is a wee bit embarassed at being rejected by different new players so is looking to former players that will defo join even though he (kenny) is past it.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Past it he finished top goalscorer and only played half a season hows that past it I think we should be looking at other players with prospect and sell on value but miller would still do a job and if need be I think we should sign him

Agree2 Disagree1

12 Jul 2011 16:35:45
Rangers make improved final offer for Goodwillie with a take it or leave it ultimatum to the Utd Board. If they decline then Miller will be back at Ibrox.

Source? Goodwillie's Father.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

That will probably be a leave itway things are going

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2011 16:25:34
seriously why are we being linked with so many ex players. is there such an abstract lack of imagination within ibrox we can't develope a team? we laughed at septic last year for buying everyone and their granny, but they now havea fairly solid team and are developing it further. we're taking steps backward an it's not going to help us in the long run

Believable3 Unbelievable0

12 Jul 2011 15:53:37
Hope we don't sign Kenny Miller and get Goodwillie instead because Miller only wants the money and has left us 3 times now

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Think you'll find he's only left twice?

Agree0 Disagree0

Twice now ?

Agree0 Disagree0

If Miller only wants the money why doesnt he just stay at Bursa and pick up 45k tax free a week? Just thought i'd ask. JPM

Agree0 Disagree0

He hasn't left 3 times for £ He got sold for £2m as he was a fringe player who was behind Billy Dodds in Advocaats plans and as he was young he felt he should play more we got our £2m back and evry1 was happy then the 2nd time he was at a club who couldnt afford 2 give him a decent contract and was basically frogmarched out the door by Lloyds so they got a fee.
Hes miles better than goodwillie, scores as often if not more, has plenty of Assists and old fiem goals are guaranteed by him Hes only 31 I think so he has plenty of football left in him. His knack of scoring in important away games in SPL was well missed.
Goodwillie is an overated big headed Jailbird just coz he supports us we should sign him NO CHANCE

Agree5 Disagree1

Braw is being a supporter the criteria to sign for us. I've supported the Rangers since I started school in 79' and I play up front for my 7's team. Come and get me Ally..my strike rate is phenomenal by the way.

( sky sports news ) Harry Redknapp is saying that Chelsea' bid of £ 27 MILLION " undervalues " Luca Modric ?
This Bears, is precisely why we are finding it so difficult to bring in players, and match their wage demands. I can think of only one player that you could not put a price on ( no not big Kirk Broadfoot ) wee Messi, £ 27 M for a V good player is way over the top, the EPL is killing the game........... globaly. They pay m&s prices, whilst we can only shop at the Spar 4in a row just the same :)

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Messi has a buy out clause in his contract for £100M........

Think Spar is aiming a bit high.....

Agree0 Disagree1

Totally agree. The money being thrown about down there is mental and they won't be able to sustain it forever. Even mediocre premier and championship players are beyond our reach because of the over the top transfer fees and wages.

Agree1 Disagree1

No Messi has a buyout clause in his contract of around £220 million. At least we can shop at Spar know in the latter Murray years we were heading to CashMyGold.

'What is Gordon Smith doing on the tour of Germany, if he is involved with transfer details, medicals etc. should he not be at Ibrox. Is this a sign he is getting involved in the playing side.'

'I said that then Smith came in he would intervene, also have you noticed how Ally is still talking about players to press as if he is trying to please rangers fans he seems to be trying to justify himself, just keep quiet until player signed.'

First quote...Why does GS have to be at Ibrox? He's talking with McCoist surely and feeding back to Whyte?
Deals don't have to be completed at Ibrox.

Quote 2... Don't think Coisty is trying to justify himself. I think he'd rather keep quiet and only talk when the ink starts to dry on the contract, however, he is aware of the concerns due to the Conway, Goodwillie, Temer outcomes and he's basically throwing small titbits to keep fans optimistic.
my take on events for what it's worth

Believable3 Unbelievable0

3rd quote, they most certainly cannot have any final financial discussions, medical and stadium visit etc. in germany and i would have thought GS in his role would be involved, if not what is his role.

Bursaspor's director of transfers, Erkan Kamat, insists the club will not let him return to Scotland for anything less than a significant transfer fee.

"If the circumstances are right, if things are good, and the conditions are correct, then why not?" Kamat was quoted as telling STV.

"But Rangers have to pay serious money, a good transfer fee.

"If Rangers are opening the door, we can maybe settle something.

"It can happen but it is not just a case of opening the door, it's not that easy.

"At the moment I am not talking about his valuation. We will see what Rangers want to do."

Fingers Crossed WATP

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Take it you weren't one of the 'you can stick your kenny miller up your arse' mob when he came to us after being at the piggery. Great wee player imo, maybe not a natural finisher but a fine striker none the less. I'd have him back in a minute. I think a fit miller and Jela would tear the SPL to shreds and also cause bother in the champions league

Agree3 Disagree0

If we sign him for more than the £400,000 we got for him i will not be back at ibrox ...clubs are taking the p!ss right out of us

Bursaspor are quoting " serious money " for Kenny Miller, if Rangers open the door, they will see what they offer I would forget any move, we will only end up getting rgered here. I would pin our future on the Goodwillie move and go forward, not back.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Valid opinion my friend but I disagree. I'm all up for looking to the future but in the case of Goodie vs Kenny I'd take Kenny back every time. I don't doubt Goodie is quality but I just think he won't be able to handle the pressure of playing for the Gers. Mark my words, If we sign Goodie it'll all end in tears.

Bursaspor say they are willing to do business regarding Kenny Miller providing we come up with "serious money". The cheek of this mob. They buy our top scorer half way through last season at a snip then make a derogatory offer for Whittaker, now they are wanting a kings ransom for Miller. I'd personally tell them to forget it and up the offer for David Goodwillie. Goodwillie is a better finnisher, just as quick if not quicker and nearly 10 years younger. I think if it wasn't for his legal complications he'd already be a Rangers player.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

"legal complications" ? Last month on this site it was described as an "indiscretion" . Unbelieveable Goodwillie has been charged with RAPE - a very serious charge and if the victim was your mother/sister/daughter/girlfriend then Im sure you would agree .

Agree0 Disagree1

Of course i agree but we come from a society where you are innocent until PROVEN guilty. Just because the boy has been charged doesn't mean he is guilty does it? Anyway i'm not interested in talking about legal issues i (and you) know nothing about. I was trying to make a point about football. Now away and find your dummy and get tae yer baw baws. HAHA

12 Jul 2011 14:27:48
I think all our pre season matches have been affected by allys determination to try and get new players in while taking his eye of the ball concerning fitness and training of the team. I am not blaming ally or the coaching team for this, but i think a lot of our problems with getting players in have been caused by the fact that craig whyte got rid of Martin Bain who usually dealt with this side of the business.

Believable7 Unbelievable5

What do you think Gordon Smith's job is?

Agree0 Disagree0

Walter Smith would have been just as involved with getting signings and looking at players as Ally is now. This is why we have Gordon Smith to fill that role left by Martin Bain so don't think it will have had any impact on the contact Ally has had with the players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, because ian durrant, kenny McDowel and McCoist totally forgot to train the team. are you seriously that daft

Agree0 Disagree0

What has Gordon Smiths track record been with getting players to ibrox so far then well its only one ortiz and now we are talking about getting kenny miller back the way things are going at the moment thay will soon be asking former players like richard gough to come out of retirement to solve our defensive problems. In the past Walter would have identified his targets and Martin Bain would have carried out the negotiations regarding money and contracts leaving Walter time to concentrate on getting the squad fit, ready and focused for whatever game was coming up nuggets

RE Kenny Miller..

I understand the thinking behind re signing him if all being well. I am behind ally with this one. If we think about it the money saved from this ie not pursuing goodwillie then that cash should and believe it will be used to bring back cuelkar from villa. We both know what both players are about. They know what it means to wear the light blue shirt and no risks involved as I see it.
Any thoughts fellow bears?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I don't know, i have mixed feelings on this one. on one hand he is a good player, top goalscorer last season having only played for half a season, on the other hand he has left us twice, now i don't know if this is a lack of loyalty or greed but he did leave us up s**t creak by leaving half way through the season, obviously this wasn't solely his fault but i do think it is asking quite a lot of rangers fans to open there arms again to a man who would rather play for money in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree1

Remember he left for only £400k in Jan did we really need that when were paying Bain circa £633k a year...

You will also remember Birmingham and McLeish had a bid of £700k accepted by Rangers, who had to accept the cheaper Turkish deal because Miller was after the £50k a week instead of the £25-30k on offer at Birmingham...

Now he's topped up his tan and 6 months later wants Rangers to shell out £1.5 - £2m for him on a probable 3 year contract and £22-£25k a week...if he does come back i hope he waives his 10% sign on fee...

Kenny miller and whitaker are very good friends. Yes bursaspor think whitaker is a cracking player and do want him but one of the main reasons they wanted him was for miller to play along with. It was some sort of idea they had that kenny wouldnt be so homesick and that he'd stay if he had one of the boys over there with him. Miller tried to talk boyd out of moving to turkey but supposedly "money talks", even when you are sh*te
I know you've all been on holiday to turkey, an blah blah, don't give a sh*t to be honest, u prob been to the south to the tourist places but Honestly the place is a sh*thole, especially the north and istanbul area, believe me i work and lived over there and have done for the last 3yrs til now. Nothing but mosques, musky smells, smog, dirt and nut jobs, 95% are very rude and selfish people, i hate the place with a passion. Lived in taksim and Yalova which is close to Bursa where kenny plays and probably lives and that place is just the same. Don't blame him for wanting out of it.
Bursaspor will realise there's nothing they can do to keep him and let him go, they prob will stop there interest in whitaker aswell if kenny leaves or gets even close to leaving.
The turkish league is living in a dreamworld at the moment, they are seeing how well other leagues are doing and they want a peice of it, yes they have a couple of good teams but honestly its like the spl but they are spending money they dont have to try an make there league big. Now they are all getting the clink for match fixing and it all comes back to trying to make their league a fighting force in europe.
now i hope to f*** we get kenny back , he didnt want to leave in the first place He's a proven scorer and a good worker, and we need as many people that will play for the shirt as we can get.
Bring on the scum.

I think they are stalling on completing the deal for the spanish defender..why Im not sure but something else is going on regarding money or other players perhaps mr Whytes holing things up again for some odd reason who knows ..god maybe but not anyone else,

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I don't think the espanyol dude is our first choice to be honest. Think there's a bit of a cagey juggling act on here. I reckon the pecking order is 1) Bartley 2)Wallace and 3)Rodriguez. I also think that Gers want assurances that we'll have experience to partner any of these three in the form of 1) Cuellar 2) Weir 3)Bougy. Think Rangers would happily take some cash for Bougy if we could right now, If it means we can get Cuellar. Obviously I have no inside knowledge and it's just my humble opinion.

Not a rumour. Would just like to say happy 12th of july to to my fellow brothers and sisters

Willie

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Whats the 12 th of july got to do with rangers?

Agree5 Disagree5

I agree (previous post) time we moved on folks. Doesn't make you anymore loyal. Incidently Ed- why are you posting these messages? Is that not just encouraging this type of thing to continue within our club? I know everyone's entitled to their opinion but this sort of thing is not doing our club any favours. You could always just ignore these posts and maybe people would get the message. Unless of course you're celebrating the 12th of July yourself? {Ed001's Note - I don't celebrate any religious dates, I am an atheist, but I thought it was about time someone pointed out how stupid it is that people keep bringing religion into things.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Got nothing to do with us. not at all interested in any of that nonsense.

Agree2 Disagree1

I, m an aethiest as well but I dont think I would be putting it in any way on these sights as its best left unsaid rather than take any chance of putting the foot in it..so to speak. {Ed001's Note - I can understand your view, but sometimes it is best to raise an issue so people can point out how stupid it is, rather than just ignoring it and hoping it goes away.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Hi Ed, i'm the poster who questioned if you were celebrating the 12th yourself. never thought about it like that so fair point. Sorry for questioning your integrity and glad to be of service exposing the numpties.
Cheers

Baybear {Ed001's Note - no worries, I did think long and hard about it myself, after having to google it to figure out why it was even mentioned! It is these kind of things that need to be changed to take Scottish football forward.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi there it was myself who posted the original post. The twelfth isn't just a celebration for religious beliefs but is also a celebration to the soldiers of the 36th division of the volunteers who lost there lifes at the battle of the some 95 year ago if it upsets people then sorry but it is something I celebrate and will never stop celebrating

Willie {Ed001's Note - but what does it have to do with football?}

Agree0 Disagree0

It doesn't have anything to do with football was just thinking others would join in the celebrations but obviously they didn't really take to it and want it out of football.

Willie {Ed001's Note - surely you can understand why mate? It is time to move on surely?}

What is Gordon Smith doing on the tour of Germany, if he is involved with transfer details, medicals etc. should he not be at Ibrox. Is this a sign he is getting involved in the playing side.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I said that then Smith came in he would intervene, also have you noticed how Ally is still talking about players to press as if he is trying to please rangers fans he seems to be trying to justify himself, just keep quiet until player signed.

Bored of the pointless speculation, wee change of thread.
If we we're to secure millions in sponsorship, who would be up for changing the name of Ibrox? No s**tty Orange mobile jokes please

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Bobby Charlton said Man Utd would NEVER sell stadium name, no MAJOR team look at all the history in name

Agree2 Disagree0

Why would you want to change it?

Agree1 Disagree0

I personally wouldnt mind selling the naming rights, it will always be ibrox to me anyway. If we can get a silly amount of money for it then why not?

as long as it goes into the team

Agree4 Disagree0

Would you sell you're soul ? IBROX is the life and soul of Rangers fc, not for sale imo

Agree0 Disagree2

To 2nd answer post- I never said I would want to change it. I mearly asked the question to gauge an opinion? personally I would be reluctant to sell the naming rights but If some mad Arab with oodles of cash to promote his airline popped up i'd consider it. After all, if it was going to take our club forward and help us to compete at a higher level then why not?

I would be more than happy if we signed
Kenny Miller £1m £22k
Carlos Cuellar £2.5m £28k
Pedro Mendes Bosman £15k

With Carlos out till October we could sign that Espanyol boy Rodriguez as cover and Papac and Broadfoot could play there if Weir or Bougie out.

Mendes admitadly drifts in out but he can be creative and can score the odd peach or 2.

We can then get a cpl of loanees from Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Man U, Man City, Liverpool or Aston Villa as all have been linked with the club for loaning us players.

Imagine the press conference with all 3 with Gers tops and Grins priceless and our next press conference will have those young players with huge potential unveiled.

Miller on 22k a week? Do you think Kenny will come back, giving up 50k a week, to get paid less than Whittaker?

Under fifa rules he couldnt sign until january Kenny miller that is if he were a target , are rangers matching the 50k tax free? When hemed , dann , conway werent offered those type of terms? ASWEDE

I've just read the article in the Daily Mail. Coisty hasnt even spoken to Miller or Bursa yet. He merely said "Kenny is in my thoughts" and the press are hyping it up a bit.

read thescottishsun then cos mccoist says in that, that he spoke with miller last week, obviously says it was nothing to do with signing for rangers since that would be tapping up but make your own mind up about what was really said
