Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

12 Jan 2017 21:13:19
I honestly do hope the striker we try and sign is motherwell striker louis moult! I truly rate moult and think he would score regularly for us as he's undoubtedly a very good finisher! He's got as near as dam a goal ratio of 1 in 2 at motherwell, which is impressive but i'd be confident if rangers signed him he would even have a better record! I would like to gauge my fellow bears opinion on louis moult for rangers possibility?

12 Jan 2017 21:25:33
I don't think it would matter who we signed as a striker, I just don't think they are getting any service from the midfield. Most of our shots on goal come from the midfield and our 2 wing backs, the system we play and the players we have is a strikers nightmare, we don't create enough chances for the strikers. In all honestly the system we play is making our forwards look shite

12 Jan 2017 21:49:03
Said moult a couple of weeks ago glad u agree coops

13 Jan 2017 00:12:43
Yeah he seems to fit the bill, as you say great goal/ game ratio and a good finisher

13 Jan 2017 05:21:04
Got to agree Weedan, i think Suarez would struggle for goals in this Rangers team because of the way Warbs wants the main striker to play his role I. E coming short to allow midfield runners to get beyond (which they hardly do) plus the lack of creativity we have in there aswell. if wee Mckays having a bad game our creativity is pretty non exsistent

13 Jan 2017 08:06:53
Moult is nowhere near good enough he's just an average striker. Not as good as Waghorn or garner and we need a lot better than them.

13 Jan 2017 08:17:13
Verdict is still out on Garner for me. Aye he puts himself about but for his wages I'd do the same and save the club a £1.8 million fee.

13 Jan 2017 08:39:21
We need to look further afield in my opinion.
E. G Partizan Belgrade have just been banned from Europe for 3 years as they can't pay bills and their squad is full of solid young players.
Striker Djurdjevic is banging them in!

13 Jan 2017 09:01:21
Garner and Waghorn are both inept and should be nowhere near the team. I can't believe the hype Garner gets. Utterly useless in front of goal and at £1.8m a complete waste of what little money we have

13 Jan 2017 10:25:40
I totally disagree. we create plenty of chances but our forwards just don't score enough

13 Jan 2017 10:32:32
Garner becoming a Rangers cult hero remains a mystery to me.

As for Moult, haven't seen that much of him, seems a very good Motherwell player but I doubt he is the standard we need to close the gap on Celtic.

13 Jan 2017 10:34:58
I agree with Cee, having a striker that can score goals on a regular basis is a must and unless there is a Colin Stein hiding somewhere in the Scottish leagues we need to be looking further afield and at better quality than the Motherwell lad. What is McParland doing, I thought he had a notebook full of quality players!

13 Jan 2017 11:09:40
Moult is a good player but I would like to see dodoo givin a fair crack. Give the boy 5-6 games what did he do wrong that he's out of the picture. He came on v thistle won the game for us with 2 well taken goals scored a goal at tynecastle that should have stood but since then he's not even on bench for some games. Weve maybe got striker were looking for at ibrox with this boy but we will never know until he gets game time.

13 Jan 2017 11:30:57
I wouldn't be surprised to see windass playing in the front 3 at some point

13 Jan 2017 12:00:51
Players from Scotland I would look at
Qutongo
Kiltie
Moult
Cummings
Gray
Boyce
Erik Cikos
Kenny McLean
Ryan Jack
Shay Logan

13 Jan 2017 12:28:56
Time to give Dodoo a serious run of games, the boy is a natural and will score a barrowload.

13 Jan 2017 14:02:14
Dodoo is an empty jersey at best - he has pace, but doesn't use it. Aside 2 good finishes against Thistle, he has shown me, in my humble opinion, nothing to warrant being in the team.
He isn't ready for first team football - that much is clear enough to me, I just don't understand the love in with him, it was the same with Nicky Clark a few years back.

As for people saying that Louis Moult isn't good enough, he won't bridge the gap wth Celtic etc
Moult has 9 goals, the same as £30million Dembele, with only 2 assists less and from less shots. Now with an inferior team like Motherwell, imagine (if we can start creating) what he could do for us, much the same as Kris Boyd - but with more mobility and a more subtle touch.

13 Jan 2017 15:03:26
Blue blazer you say dodoo is an empty jersey he hardly ever gets a jersey. How you can judge that the boys not ready for first team when he is lucky to get 20-25mins some games. you are entitled to your opinion but feel you're a bit harsh with your judgement of the guy.

13 Jan 2017 15:16:35
Bluedie that's why our manager has brought in jon toral and emerson hyndman, to help barrie mckay out with the creativity side of the team! I can't say i've seen too much of hyndman, but by all accounts he's technically very good whereas i've see toral numerous times and he is a very good footballer! He's very technically gifted, can score goals as well as being able to supply the killer pass to create chances for others.

13 Jan 2017 17:35:56
Warbs15 I wouldn't be surprised if what you got told was true. I've never seen a young man take so long to shake off an injury mate.

13 Jan 2017 20:21:51
Ive only seen abit of them both on youtube Supercoop which isn't the fairest way to judge them so do you think they'l make a difference mate and do you think they'l b starters?

12 Jan 2017 20:11:11
would anyone like to see ibrox be renamed or keep the traditional name?

12 Jan 2017 20:35:24
As a way of sponsorship, if someone offered a 7 figure amount per season, why not? If you mean just a change of name, I personally don't see the point.

12 Jan 2017 21:16:27
There would need to be some sort of major finnancial benefit in it for me

12 Jan 2017 22:13:37
If it financially benefits the club then it's not the worst situation to negotiate.

12 Jan 2017 23:04:26
If the price is right they can call it what they want. But it is and always will be Ibrox.

12 Jan 2017 23:32:54
If all the sponsor money was to go towards the team for players transfer fees wages then sponsor of stadium would be welcome and would give us a big boost

13 Jan 2017 10:26:51
If it got the club money then I'm all for it, as it will always be ibrox park no matter what's wrote on the stands

13 Jan 2017 10:36:55
Well said Craig, they can call the Stadium whatever they want so long as the sponsor money is used to improve the first team. Rangers supporters would still see it as Ibrox and no one else matters!

12 Jan 2017 20:09:32
would anyone like to see safe standing at ibrox?

13 Jan 2017 10:28:18
Yeah I would love it in the old enclosure

12 Jan 2017 18:34:31
Do fellow bears think we will bring any other players in either on loan or maybe signing a player?

12 Jan 2017 18:53:51
I think it wil depend on how many players we let go mate

12 Jan 2017 19:16:26
I doubt if we will sign anyone in the January window, but depending on who we release, we may get 1 or 2 further loaned players in.
I find it difficult to see any planning, in where we are going, and really do fear for our future if we do not secure second spot.
Our current board are and will find investment openings very, very difficult and even with second place it will still make it a long shot if we will be able to fund the signing of enough calibre players to have a team to make in-roads in Europe.
Many of the posters here will see this as my usual attack on DK, but I see it more like the realism of our dire circumstances.

12 Jan 2017 20:13:50
we need a centre half! let's hope Fulham bid 2m for kiernan.

12 Jan 2017 21:17:52
2m for Kiernan? Has nobody told you yet that Santas no real?

13 Jan 2017 01:41:51
it was in the paper mate, don't shoot the message.

13 Jan 2017 10:18:31
In the paper! Think about 95% of stories in the paper are fantasy maybe more

13 Jan 2017 10:30:35
I never seen that but I would bite someone's hand off for 2ml for Keirnan, but I don't think warburton would sell him as I think he really likes him

12 Jan 2017 17:02:28
IT was good to here rangers under 15s won a tourney abroad last week, we beat B Dortmund in the final too, is that the team young Gilmore and rudden plays in,? Away there must be some good young players because I know Spurs were in the same tourney, and Spurs have a very good academy

12 Jan 2017 17:01:01
Does anyone know if Jordan Rossi ter is back in training yet. He was supposed to be a few days away from fitness according to MW before the break. I ask because I think that the young Yank and Toral will be regular starters so Holty and probably Tav will be benched which I think is fine (Hodson deserves to return at RB) but if Rossi ter is still not ready (when will he be then! ) that means Andy the badge kisser will likely keep his place which to my mind is barely deserved as he continues to show he is no DM- also seeing that Crooks is being punted on loan to Scunthorpe- actually feel sorry for that lad, yes he was poor v. Hearts but why bring him in and not play him in his best position. Halli day has had quite poor to anonymous games in that role but as folk say on here, one of the"undroppables". Anyway rant over, please get fit soon, Jordan!

12 Jan 2017 18:35:59
hallway is a true blue but best player for each position and rosier is better.

12 Jan 2017 20:23:01
Halliday is becoming the "new Big Jig"! A Rangers man through and through that will play anywhere for Rangers. Unfortunately he is not and never will be a Holding midfield player or a defensive midfield player, nor does he come close.

A fit Rossiter would, I believe be a significant player for Rangers and would provide more support for the defence while adding exactly what i'd needed for the midfield.

Unfortunately I do not believe that we all see him back in the team at the beginning of February although if it means we will have him next season then I am happy that he is given as long as necessary to get fully match fit!

13 Jan 2017 10:33:20
Iv not got a clue what's happ with Young rossiter, one thing I do know is the wee man is pure gutted and is desperate to play

12 Jan 2017 16:54:05
Bluenosebear . ARE YOU HAVING A LAUGH? You are saying WALLACE has been reliable and HILL past it? What games you been watching this season? Not the same ones as me!

12 Jan 2017 17:03:50
what you on about, have you just woke up from a coma or something

12 Jan 2017 19:02:48
You must be having a laugh Wallace is being the most reliable he actually defends and gets forward to support when he can. Hill has been best centre back but that's just best of a bad bunch your a joke Djab and that's why Wallace is captain cause he leads by example am sure if he didn't there would be a lot more fans that just you. If you think any the other defenders have been good it's a bad day when u settling for as Rangers class and an other thing it's statistically proven more clean sheets more points you can always score goals and still get beaten

12 Jan 2017 19:39:14
Pure pash sir . Wallace has been rotten this season and should have been dropped weeks ago . If that's what you are happy with then you batter on! He deserves credit for sticking by us through the dark days but imo he is not a rangers captain! I'm not settling for anything, I'm just stating fact he's been mince all season and you're on here singing his praises! you're the joke sir!

12 Jan 2017 20:15:36
both of you are wrong. they play in two different positions and both have been our most consistent players.

13 Jan 2017 10:36:07
Wallace stood by us, how about we stand by him, some fans have very short memories, every players form dips, just get behind the guy

13 Jan 2017 14:35:55
Well said delboy. Wallace looks worse cause the duds he playing alongside Hill is the best CB at the mo but that's cause we don't have any decent cbs and hill is the best of bad bunch and only a few weeks ago people where saying he was too old and slow.

13 Jan 2017 19:52:47
It is not just the defence that is aversely affecting Wallace, it is the midfield or, more to the point, the lack of a midfield!

12 Jan 2017 16:31:16
Bn reading on here some people think our priority should be attack not being funny we have created vast amount a chances in games where we have dropped points it's the quality of strikers but we still do score but the main priority is the defence cause you can see the defence is is having an effect throughout the team no confidence and you can see that in the players Clint hill to old and slow kiernan can't read the game he gave away 2 goals to slack passing in the 5-1 and another running to the man senderos was marking at the third leaving Celtic to slot the ball in behind for third felt sorry for senderos was marking 2 men during that game and other defenders playing alongside have no confidence in him. Tarvenier is nowhere to be seen at times. Would like to see more of Hodgeson. In the recent old firm the defence looked the bad every time Celtic came forward they looked like the score with time and space they had. The only defensive player that's been reliable week in and out is Wallace.

12 Jan 2017 16:39:01
How many times do we give away the ball in midfield and put the defense under pressure? The team in general needs fixed, in my opinion starting with the Midfield.

12 Jan 2017 17:09:10
Have you only watched the old firms? Quality of chances are awful

12 Jan 2017 18:26:55
Midfield is a joke can't tackle can't score or defend worst I can remember ever we have had

12 Jan 2017 20:16:28
you always build a team from the back guys.

13 Jan 2017 10:41:59
When Souness arrived he built the spine of the team, a quality keeper, a quality centre back and defensive / holding midfield player, a quality central midfield player and a quality striker. Smith maintained this throughout his time at Rangers. Right now we have a decent quality keeper, our central defence is week, our defensive / Holding midfield is no existent, (at least until Rossiter is fit), we might now have a good quality central midfield attack, but potentially only tim the summer and with the exception of Miller our strike force is ordinary at best!

13 Jan 2017 14:39:18
Well said Jason Brown that was point I made I always believe clean sheets are more important as you can score goals but still get beaten like you said build from the back well said

12 Jan 2017 14:44:50
right guys motherwell hearts ross county Dundee and ict next 5 games will be good for us band I believe that we have the team that can take all 15 points from said games

12 Jan 2017 15:25:19
I agree, I don't see our rivals winning 5 on the bounce so a chance for us to pull clear of the teams around us

12 Jan 2017 15:38:46
No points for the motherwell game in the scottish cup :-)

12 Jan 2017 16:01:19
We play them in the league as well our next 2 games are motherwell

12 Jan 2017 16:12:50
True, scoobs but James is right that those are our next 5 league games. We play the Well at home in the Cup and away in the league the following week.

12 Jan 2017 16:56:17
IT hearts away, don't bank on 3 points guys, they played us off the park there the last time

13 Jan 2017 07:58:22
Robbie nielson was manager and we started with dodoo up front and crooks cam will be much different this time mate

13 Jan 2017 14:59:31
Isn't motherwell the cup game?

12 Jan 2017 13:36:10
Kiernan case dismissed.

12 Jan 2017 15:26:30
rightfully so!

12 Jan 2017 16:57:14
Finally some good news for us, well depends on who you ask lol

12 Jan 2017 10:27:29
Me personaly thinks 16 first team players and that's it. the rest will be academy players. if we get injuries then so be it let's give a young lad a shot

12 Jan 2017 12:04:54
That would be high risk, but if the 16 were quality and we had quality youth players it might just work. That would mean us signing at least two holding / defensive midfield players since that is an area where we don't have any quality right now for the "top 16"

12 Jan 2017 15:53:57
Far to risky, that's one of the reasons we lost the Scottish cup, apart from the bad defending, we couldn't give players a rest as we couldn't even fill the subs bench after injuries and suspensions

12 Jan 2017 09:46:25
I see Cardiff are linked with a 500k bid for jonny Hayes this is a player who could add to our first team and for that sort of money should be withing our reach instead we are making loan signings who will be off come the summer and then we are left with same midfield again

12 Jan 2017 09:57:55
Hayes is a good and I'd take him in a heartbeat, but what do we then do with Mckay? do we attempt to put him out on the right?

12 Jan 2017 10:30:02
Naw you put him in the middle. We should be building the midfield roubd about him. By far the most creative player in the squad.

12 Jan 2017 10:34:40
Took the words out my mouth Bryan

12 Jan 2017 10:55:10
McKay needs to be given a chance on the right, imo he would have a much better game and be loads more effective, he keeps getting berated by fans fir cutting in when in the left BUT there is nothing else he can do! He MUST due to being right footed so Warbs play him on the right or possibly the middle but we need a left footed winger to play out there and then McKay would flourish on the right!

12 Jan 2017 12:49:48
Jonny Hayes for me is a no brainer at that sort of money Warburton think mackay can play the central role so this would give lad perfect chance or on the right side on his favoured foot can not see it happning tho as David king seems to have disappeared and not providing the manager any funds at all this we are trying ship players out to then get loan players in just doesn't make sense when you could move for players like Hayes and bed them in now for next season

12 Jan 2017 13:04:05
for me we should be in for adam roony and hayes as they two work well together and they both add to the team.
maybe get the both for less than the price of garner and roony scored 19 last season and could beat that this year if we signed him.
for me garner is workhorse but not a natural goalscorer and rooney and hayes should be thought of before him I.

12 Jan 2017 14:01:36
Rooney is a good shout to but for mobility up front we should have moved for Jason Cummings instead of Joe garner these 3 players Rooney Hayes Cummings would improve our team without doubt but our management team seem to think English based players are our only option so far with all his signings a take it these loan signings from england where the European signings Warburton was talking about when he said the targets where European aswell.
we have got to move away from the English market as it to inflated for us to operate in and not getting value for money so far.
and David king has got to come good with a small chunck of his promised investment in squad for transfer fees 2 3 million could get us these players mentioned above instead of loan players

12 Jan 2017 14:08:22
this timelast year it was m o h that we could not passup

12 Jan 2017 14:44:09
Would like hayes think he's a decent player. Would play him on the left Mckay on the right and waggy up front with.

12 Jan 2017 15:30:32
Well since McKay is only good 1 game out of 10 then Hayes could play the other 9 lol.

12 Jan 2017 09:28:44
Not a rumour but out of curiosity who would take Vuckic back? I see he is available again and was probably one of our best players when we had him

12 Jan 2017 09:53:30
Not good enough, he was the best of a bad bunch, anyway the 2 midfielders we signed look much better

12 Jan 2017 10:35:25
Toral is actually pretty similar to vukiv

12 Jan 2017 11:23:52
Vuckic is good enough. would take him back no botcher.

12 Jan 2017 12:06:45
Vicki is a decent quality player and we can hardly say that he is not good enough when you look at what we have, especially in holding midfield and defence. The only problem is that we probably have enough players in the role that Vickic plays!

12 Jan 2017 12:44:30
I disagree lads, I think he was the best of a bad bunch, but it's only my opinion lads

12 Jan 2017 13:06:12
think he could do better in a better team delboy.

12 Jan 2017 14:02:21
Its possible guys, but we will prob never get the chance to find out

12 Jan 2017 00:24:28
Right Bears just a thought on how to go about tryin to get a half decent team team together AND it's a gamble but options are limited, I think if we slimed down the squad by getting rid of 7-8 players and using the wages to bring in 3-4 quality players. Off the too of my head out goes Gilks, I like the guy but guv the place to one if our own up and coming again this idea has got gamble written all over it and Gilks is probably on 5-7k a week. Next Tavs, Kiernan Senderos is away end if season anyways and he must be in anything between 12-15k which is an utter disgrace Hill may be away too, out goes Halliday who I really like but if needs be the he's out prob need to get shot of O'halloran OR Forrester? And its time fir Wags to GO sorry but the lad ain't doing it. Maybe time to cut our losses with Nico dunno and if Aird is never getting a game he goes.
Anyways some positions will need to be covered with Academy lads AND we need to give the new boy Bates a chance at CH at times. So the wages we save with these exits should be used to bring in quality players who will want decent wages these players WILL need to be got on free's which CAN be done just because we get them fir nothing dies NOT mean their worth nothing or their cr*p! . Anyways Bears dunno what u think and I know its nit ideal AND the players mentioned are not written in stone but the idea behind trying to build a team that isn't just going to compete domestically but can get into Europe as we MUST get into the group stges of the Europa. You all prob get what I'm trying to get across SO do u think its a road we should go down?

12 Jan 2017 04:08:58
Trimming the squad would save us some cash on wages front but if we are to compete and have European ties to play then we need a squad to cope! In that scenario I fear for some of our players meeting the demands of playing euro ties midweek then league games at weekends the likes of windass seem to struggle to string 3/ 4 games together without taking a knock then hill and millers age would come into play! Your point about selling 7/ 8 and bringing in 3-4 makes some sense as it saves us a whack of cash but by replacing gilks with kelly and senderos with bates and bringing burt into pool then that also saves a few grand a week!

12 Jan 2017 06:35:00
If these players are on the money your claim, and currently no one is screaming to buy them, or claiming that they are great stars of the future, why on earth would they want to leave, and risk earning less elsewhere.

I think your stuck with many of these so called duds, unless you settle their contracts, if you settle, then where is your projected savings coming from.

We have a similar problem across the city, certain duds like effan Ambrose won't go till he gets a new club that meets his demands.

12 Jan 2017 06:52:57
And what happens if we have as many injuries as we've had this year?

12 Jan 2017 07:57:29
We have had injuries this year cammoo but even at that there are a few players who haven't featured much we've not been down to bare bones

12 Jan 2017 07:58:31
Nic_861

I doubt very much that squad would be in Europe long

12 Jan 2017 08:35:08
That squad would struggle to finish second!

12 Jan 2017 08:47:36
What squad stewie25? I've tated we need to replace several players with better quality! But what we don't neeed is to bring in 7/ 8 ali crawfords or andrew considine level guys i'd much rather bring in 4/ 5 players of a higher calibre and bulk out the squad by using burt and bates if we had to

12 Jan 2017 08:51:36
Surely you don't think were going out to sign a whole new squad of players? We are pratted we have to save every penny we can

12 Jan 2017 09:36:58
Get rid of Waggy, Senderos (leaving anyway), Gilks, Kranjcar, O'hal, Forrester and Halliday.

Bring in Winnall, Burt, Kelly, Bailey Wright, Cyrus Christie and David Davis.

Winnall looks like a goal scorer and Sheffield Wednesday are looking at buying him for just 500k, Burt and Kelly wouldn't cost a thing and look really promising. Bailey Wright is unhappy with lack of game time so we could snatch him on a free. Cyrus Christie is a right back, but if we are going for this 3-5-2 formation instead, he would provide more cover than Tav. David Davis would be better than Halliday all day long, and Forrester is a headless chicken.

12 Jan 2017 09:55:05
This isn't Fifa we are playing where all those changes would just slot right in, get a grip!

12 Jan 2017 09:55:45
Well, looks like Winnall is going to Sheffield Wednesday for 500k, absolute bargain.

12 Jan 2017 10:21:04
Sounds more like a game of cards to me with all those changes. Drop 8 players in the hope that we get 6 better ones that can bed in quickly.

More Lala land opinions!

Focus your energy on supporting the club, getting behind the team, manager and board rather than pretending to know more about football than the professionals.

If I've misread your qualifications, then I apologise Mr Ferguson

12 Jan 2017 10:41:04
Spot on BR65

12 Jan 2017 13:21:00
andy I totally disagree with everything u just said . we need decent back ups for our players so wouldn't get rid of gilks and tav is still one I think will be worth good money in a year or two flying rb is easy to sell.
forrester is one our best well most talented players anyways. so letting him go is a mistake i'd give him more game time out on the right.

but if McKay doesn't go through the middle its a waste

12 Jan 2017 14:40:42
James, while I agree that we need decent backups, more importsnt, we need a couple of players, especially in holding midfield and defence that go straight into the starting eleven. We have failed misreadly to sign a quality holding midfield player / defensive midfield player and that is the only reason that Halliday fills that role.

12 Jan 2017 16:43:04
there is two players I can think of that would only cost us a wage, Bailey Wright and David Davis, two very good players that top half of the table championship sides want. Preston I believe capped their players wages not to long ago, and birmingham I believe have reduced wages drastically. These are 2 players that would easily improve our defence and cost us nothing except their wage.
