Absolutely raging after another abject performance. The Gerrard experiment was a massive gamble and it's clearly not working. We've been punching above our weight for months now and our luck has finally run out. don't even get me started on the £7m wasted on Kent.

I think it really is time for people to start questioning Gerrard's performance. What was the game plan tonight. First half was okay, Kilmarnock sat back and our formation was set to attack, we had chances and it was a beautiful strike by Arfield. After half, Kilmarnock started running us and we remained passive and tried to slow the game down and keep control. They were not having it and they gave Rangers no time and space. We didn't up the tempo to match or couldn't I don't know which. They were open to counter attacks but other than Kent and Morelos no one had the legs for. Who was supposed to defend from the midfield tonight? We had the back four and Jack but who else because we really struggled to clear when they pressed us. Why are we not organized on the back end. Why was O'Donnell so wide open, Why is Halliday covering the throw in before that goal? Why does Katic not follow the ball out and put O'Donnell offside. What did Edmundson do to end up as a sub tonight. He has played well the past few runs. What is the point of making subs in the last five minutes of a game if its not for an injury or to delay the game cause you're winning. Arfield can't last a full 90, neither should Jack who's just come back from injury and forced to play a full 90 on artificially turf. Why can't Jones Stewart get a few minutes in a game. I can't believe this is the same team that qualified for europe. They look so weak.

Some supporters saying we have no winners in our team, i totally disagree as we most definitely have 2!We have allan mcgregor and steven davis, who gerrard must play week in week out, until the end of the season barring injury.
These 2 would never be out my rangers starting 11,as they still have much to offer, even though they're in the twilight of their careers. They bring so much experience and of course have a winning mentality! We must win this scottish cup for everything,

I will never say never untill it's mathematically not possible to win the league but I doubt very much we will win enough games and Celtic to lose games so for me we won't win the league. also when we go away to places like Kilmarnock hearts Aberdeen why don't we play two strikers in a 4-4-2. now I'm no football coach but surely we need to change things up or we end up to transparent and easily worked out.

Big IF here but if we win all our games and celtic drop points even if its just 1 game (apart from us besting them 2wice elsewhere then we win it. last nights defeat was huge and now we have no room for slip ups.1 more draw/ loss then even i will have to admit defeat . win our game in hand. down to 7 point gap beat them twice 1 point between us. all the while we need to win every other game aswell. can we still win the league. if we keep playing the way we are then no .

Agree totally. Gerrard says he is responsible but surely he could see the game was going against us second half but he stood and watched it and did nothing to change it. His substitutions were hopeless.
Also he questions the players mentality. How then are they going to cope with stopping 10 in a row next season?

Bottom left me is we're better than last year. Better in Europe, league and should have won League cup. Maybe not a lot better but better and we can perform in bigger games against European teams and the mhankies. He's done this on a relatively low budget so overall he's probably done what could reasonably be expected. On the downside, he's persevered with certain players who don't perform, his selections are puzzling at times and the team look bang ordinary against average teams particularly this side of the winter break. He's a young inexperienced manager with some promise- no more than that despite our high expectations based on his playing career.

He's IMHO most definitely improved us and i'll now ask you if you don't think gerrard has improved us, then i don't know what you're thinking. I grant you gerrard and our team, need to improve more again, to win the league under gerrard. I most definitely am hurting badly that we've hit this poor run of form again, after coming back from our winter break, but changing the manager just now, ain't the answer as far as i'm concerned. Go back 18 months and look at now and yeah Stevie G has improved us. We have beaten Celtic, first win in 10 years at Parkhead, cup final in 3 years, last 32 in Europe. However One big problem with managers who were really good players is they expect everyone to be like them.
A good manager knows how to get the best out an individual and of course their team. We have also not generated any cash from players so have no money therefore now stuck in 2nd. I think the relationship between him and the players will Now’s go south and he will move on maybe taking some with him. I really hope so bringing in some needed cash. 442 please.

Gerrard has his favourites who are never dropped, Goldson seems to run in slow motion and reminds me of Worrall sometimes with his decision making. Kent is a shadow of last season, and if he's right footed I cannot understand why gerrard plays him on the left. Tav was awful again, and they over ran us in the second half, you could see it coming. It is so frustrating watching this, when before the winter break we were looking so good.

We play with one goal scorer who is not always available our midfield rarely scores and do not carve open defences they pussyfoot around with pretty little passes with no cutting edge that’s the problem and then you have Tav who can’t cross a ball and midfield far to defence minded how do you expect to win the league like that and all without the managerial problem where he has no idea when to introduce subs and which ones will make an impact Ohno springs to mind brought on time and time again too most of the season to realise he’s no use.

You have to admit sgl, it's a sad day though when you are relying on a 38 year old and a 35 year old. Whether you feel gerrard is the man or not, he is tactically naive. Even before xmas, at the beginning of the season, I lost count of the amount of times on here after a game someone said "that's a game we would have lost last year though" after a narrow win. Not exactly enthralling stuff. Had a few good patches but also a few shaky ones, coupled to the abysmal one post xmas.

For those who called out the "Gerard haters" and "glory hunters" after a late winner against Hibs and a win v Accies in which the scoreline flattered us, does anyone seriously think we can still win this league after that tonight? That's them 10 points ahead and I don't want to hear any of this crap about a game in hand - on present performances, can we even beat St Johnstone - I really doubt it, and I can see them winning this by double figures. I hear fans saying he needs the full 4yrs of his contract to get it right, however as a passionate rangers fan, I cannot sit and watch that mob across the city get to 11 in a row while we wait and hope on this happening. We got rid of Murphy and Docherty (who incidentally are both wanted by their loan clubs permanently already due to their performances), he was desperate to get rid of JJ, doesn't seem to know how to change things (they did, went 2 up and scoring for fun now), tactics and formation which other coaches have figured out. If he can't figure out how to change things and quickly, then his dream of managing Liverpool are over. Yes, the players also need to take the blame as we're just not good enough. Why was Kamberi not brought on, and Stewart for that matter with 30 minutes to go, Kent and Aribo were a wasted jersey tonight. If I was a Rangers Director, I would be asking a few questions of the Manager tomorrow, he CAN'T continyue with 1 up, I don't recall us during our winning times playing consistently with 1 up front. We were incredibly unlucky not to win the League Cup. He's completely changed our fortunes in Europe and we now go into Old Firm games knowing we have absolutely nothing to fear.

I’m beginning to hear ya pal. Although not sure I’d say he has to go just yet, but his tactics are shocking. As you say, that’s every single team now got the measure of us and playing the same way. Celtic lost one single game to us and treated it as a crisis. They changed formation and haven’t dropped a point since. I’m not saying Lennon is a genius, but I am saying SG cannot keep doing the same thing and hoping for different outcomes.

Its now every game we are having decisions against us that impact the outcome of the game. The officiating is a complete and utter joke.

People wldnt blame refs if decisions didn’t verge on clear cheating. How can Morelos get booked for diving which was the correct decision but dicker who done exact same get away with it and ref and linesman both had clear view of it. Which wld also have seen him sent off. Cutting Morelos goal off when not a thing wrong hand ball just before there goal clearly seen again by ref. Boy Mackenzie on tavs back and not a booking beggars belief. Bankie, I felt the big difference was that Athletico were more clinical and in Raquelme, they had a class player who had young Paterson on toast most of the game. I thought though that Rangers played some good football, but Mebude and Young-Coombes when he came on were both ineffective, Kai Kennedy and our Centre Half both looked effective, so well done on getting to that stage of the competition.
