Guys I tried this a few years ago on here n got a good response so want to try again.
With the money now in football basicly ruining the game for 90 % of all teams, surely this cannot continue. how long till the first billion pound player? My idea is simple . Gather the past 3 years of stats for every player. I mean everything, passes, tackles, interceptions and so on n so on. depending on your stats u are worth a set amount and get paid a set amount. for talking sake Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappe, Neymar level one worth say 50 million quid n get paid 300 grand a week. Level 2, players like bale Kane pogba and so on say 49.5 million n get paid 280 g a week. Obviously smarter minds than mine could make it work . i just think players would bust a gut to try n raise their levels n stats to get up the ladder . what ye think guys?

13 Feb 2019 00:06:45
I think that's pretty much how it works already mate. It's just that the markets decide who is worth what instead of some arbitrary number cap. Supply and demand.
You would have to bring an end to capitalism to change that.

13 Feb 2019 08:31:33
so sign a player on 10k a week then his stats improve drastically and he demands pay way above his initial 10k what happens if the club can't afford to pay that?

13 Feb 2019 08:51:58
As a said guys I’m sure smarter people than me could come up with somethin similar. Pretty sure ye get the jist of it though.

13 Feb 2019 08:54:08
I also understand that player power takes over but surely somethin has to happen b4 the arse falls out the game.

13 Feb 2019 10:10:23
Gersdaft has a decent argument? Not only do prima Donna players want more than they are worth but they mix it with other players and make it hard for the manager, just because they can’t get what they want all of the time. Jose’ at Chelsea, Conte at Chelsea, Jose’ at United, Lennon at Hibs are just a few. It’s a good debate started by Gersdaft.

13 Feb 2019 10:38:40
In an ideal world (or dictatorship etc. )
However, we live, for the most part, in a free democratic society where it's a case of supply and demand.
That is why Sky and other sponsors pump more money down south and into large European leagues, why Germany, Italy, Spain and England get 4 automatic CL places.
Even in Scotland, Rangers, Celtic etc. command more revenue than the other clubs.
Is it fair, NO. But is a fact of life. Even the crappy financial fair play rule - designed to help create a more equal playing field - is basically laughed at and ignored by those big clubs. UEFA know that if they flex their muscles too much then the big clubs will walk away along with all the sponsorship deals etc. (would love to see that happen mind you and let us get back to real football and real fairer play)

13 Feb 2019 11:51:23
I would suggest a set max weekly wage and a set max transfer fee, with a % of the transfer fee going to the football nations association putting money into lower levels and younger players.
Now a player could make a lot more money via sponsors but those sponsors can have no ties to the club he plays for ie if you sign for us nike will pay you an extra £20,000 if you wear there boots.
Say a max wage of £80,000 and a max transfer fee of £10,000,000.
The agents are getting silly money, i understant they get the paper work done but the money they command it stupid.

13 Feb 2019 12:24:20
unfortunately its supply and demand laced with Bosman rules. this is the basis of capitalised society. if someone is willing to pay they players get what the want. you cannot have everyone paying the same, that's called cartelling and totally illegal in the modern world. i know you say fixed grades with different salaries within the grade but its still the same rules that apply.

13 Feb 2019 12:36:50
Cheers for the comments guys. i do appreciate that this model probably couldn’t work due to stopping the players right to earn. But still surely somethin must be done because in the next ten years every nation except the big four leagues will turn into obscurity. money is killing the game I love . Now the old firm will only ever get great players very young and untested on the way up, or very old n over the hill on their way down. never will we see a laudrup, Hately, gazza or the likes again in their absolute prime. there has to be a model that works for all!

13 Feb 2019 12:41:35
So if a 50mil bid came in for mbappe the club offers him 300k p/ w would the club have to accept it? I can't see how that's workable.

13 Feb 2019 13:03:23
The only reason we had Gazza and Laudrup was because we were paying silly money and the other SPL teams couldn't compete. Let's be honest would they have aged in Scotland if similar money was offered in England?

Great times in the 90s but we are as much to blame for the financial bubble as anyone else.

13 Feb 2019 17:19:08
It's not illegal, sure that a few sports have salary csps.

13 Feb 2019 18:21:39
I’ve said this before on here and on the Celtic pages. We all have to stop subscribing to SKY, BT Sport etc. The majority of the money we give them benefits teams in England and makes it harder for us to compete in the transfer market. If we all stop subscribing and demand a ‘Scottish only’ package, they will realise that they have to pay us the a proper fee to get it and the SFA/ SPFL should demand that our games are only available through the ‘ ‘Scottish only’ package.

13 Feb 2019 20:19:22
Totally agree Coybig. I am dropping my subscriptions to both Sky and BT, there is too much football on TV and too much fans money available to them, it is just a vicious spiral.

14 Feb 2019 00:51:35
Stats prove nothing a couple years a Mr S Brown from a Glasgow franchise had the best passing stats in the champions league. End of story.

12 Feb 2019 20:11:10
anyone have any knowledge of premier sports screening the cup replay? Can't see anything on their site yet.

12 Feb 2019 20:46:57
I went on to look as well and they have confirmed game times for tv quarter finals but not stated what games they are covering- on sat 2nd they are showing a game at 445pm and on sun 3rd they are showing a game at 130pm - so they are showing 2 games that weekend but what they are is unknown at this time -.

12 Feb 2019 21:57:45
If we get through to face Aberdeen, is it an even split with tickets?

13 Feb 2019 16:30:01
Away team in cup ties entitled to ten per cent of capacity as a minimum.

13 Feb 2019 17:33:02
Cheers Jboy.

12 Feb 2019 18:49:55
The compliance officer is a lady procurator fiscal, who as far as I know has never kicked a ball in her puff. So what do you expect the decisions to be. Obviously nobody could come out and say that or they would be up in front of the compliance officer.

12 Feb 2019 19:39:53
Can the Compliance person get done for stalking or something? ? She only seems to watch one team (which is a dead giveaway she's a Celtic supporter, )

12 Feb 2019 21:06:38
I thought know one was to know who compliance officers were?!

12 Feb 2019 21:49:40
The SfA do not have a clue how to run football they make the rules up as they go along.
When they appointed a compliance officer why did they not just appoint someone that has been involved in football like a ex referee.
Or have a panel of 3 people maybe two ex referee and one independent person and look at the incidents together then talk and have a vote if any action has to been tain against the players and what the punishment should be. To get someone that doesn't no about football is just plain stupid and this is why we are seeing so many mistakes by the one person.

12 Feb 2019 21:41:18
Her husband is season ticket holder at Parkhead.

12 Feb 2019 22:31:35
Im sure I read she was on liewells payroll sits on the same board of some company mabey wrong!

12 Feb 2019 23:52:09
The compliance officer should be a non-scot, with no affiliation to any club. Perhaps someone who has just emerged from the Amazon who has no previous connection to civilisation.

12 Feb 2019 23:37:16
and her firm works for celtic.

13 Feb 2019 07:42:23
It is really unbelievable, but not surprising. If it were made into a film it would need to be classed as a fantasy. No wonder Scottish football is a laughing stock everywhere else except here. I'm certainly not laughing.

13 Feb 2019 13:52:53
The whole process has been a farce but has anyone actually found proof that she has association with the dark side? Some of the stuff I've seen about this woman has been first class paranoia. I'm not denying anything but there's been a few fans jumping to large conclusions. Hard to take digs about Celtic fans being conspiracy obsessed when there's enough of it in our own ranks. Again I stress I'm not defending her because she's made a complete arse of things.

So, the Kilmarnock player gets away with his assault on Ryan Jack due to "insufficient evidence". What more f*****g evidence is needed than the picture we've all seen. What an absolute disgrace. You kick someone in the head in the street and the police would give you the jail.

12 Feb 2019 17:41:22
Absolutely disgusting to use that to cover up the complete incompetence of the sfa. this is a witch hunt against us. no two ways about it . they are a disgrace . sooner a vote to oust this corrupt lot happens the better. backhanders must be rife amonest the liars.

12 Feb 2019 17:45:31
SirStruth, it will be interesting now if any action is taken against Greegs!

12 Feb 2019 18:09:17
I don't get the mcgregor situation I thought if the ref saw it at the time and took no action that was the end of it.

12 Feb 2019 18:26:08
those were the rules me2

but they’ve now been ‘changed’ .

12 Feb 2019 18:34:39
In light of the Powee decision, if they go ahead and confirm the ban on McGregor it would be an absolute disgrace and corrupt to the core.

12 Feb 2019 19:37:46
McGregor deserves suspension deliberate high foot could have crippled young Ferguson.

12 Feb 2019 19:48:29
Well hopefully now people like Steve Clarke will now see that not everything is going against his side. Power didn't mean to hurt Jack, but it was his decision to go with his foot rather than his head is that put Jack in danger of being badly injured. Exactly the same thing as McGregor so here we are CONSISTENCY is what we all seek, let's see if the McGregor decision is in line with that of other events.

12 Feb 2019 20:01:22
Have no doubts that moves are afoot to expose Clare Whyte and have fewer doubts that she'll hand over to another Celtic supporter in the pay of PL before it hits the fan.

12 Feb 2019 20:49:58
6 counties - mcgregor caught the ball fairly unlike ferguson who later on caught mcgregors balls unfairly with his foot.

12 Feb 2019 23:11:46
Shouting about conspiracy theories is better left to that lot guys. Its not what we do.

Other teams have had some baffling decisions go for and against them and we've won some before perhaps that could have been questionable.

However, I do agree that there needs to somehow to work things to offer a fairer and more consistent system.

Maybe a few people should shown footage and they vote to take it forward, clubs could then have the opportunity to challenge decisions if they feel their is a lack of consistency buy comparing situations.

13 Feb 2019 12:40:31
quite simple they should remove this clause about whether its intended to hurt or injure. that way its clear, you hit someone with studs up its a red card. if you take a swipe at someone whether you connect or not its a red card. and whilst you are at it, any shirt pulling or off the ball incident or otherwise is yellow simples.

12 Feb 2019 14:14:41
This carry on with the MORONS at the SFA reminds me of the famous line from Kenneth Williams in Carry on Cleo. INFAMY INFAMY EVERYONES GOT IT INFAMY LOL.

12 Feb 2019 17:42:32
Only that was funny . this witchhunt isn't.

Sad to hear Gordon Banks has died. I just watched again on You Tube that unbelievable save he made against Brazil in 1970. I am old enough to have watched it live the first time round! He was probably the greatest keeper ever?

12 Feb 2019 12:11:26
Agreed, he was also the best in my opinion. RIP.

12 Feb 2019 14:35:08
I remember England playing Northern Ireland at Windsor Park, Banks threw the ball in the air to kick it into play and George Best caught the ball in mid air and scores a goal, Banks went ballistic ( the goal wasn’t allowed ) for some reason. But Banks was a superb goalie, nearly as good as Shagger 😝.

12 Feb 2019 15:08:58
Ulsterman, not saying you are wrong, but my dad reckons he kicked the ball out of Bank's hands as he went to kick the ball away. He was just talking to us about it also he was singing a song " aye aye aye Aye Banks is better than Yashin" .

12 Feb 2019 16:04:49
Like yourself Doiger can remember that save live greatest save I've ever seen.

12 Feb 2019 16:26:42
Broke Scotland's hearts on many occasions. Best ever keeper imo.

12 Feb 2019 17:36:35
Bluepete
Banks threw the ball into the air and Best nipped in and stole it, the ref didn’t say anything to Best, but he did disallow the goal, doesn’t matter anyway, your point and mine is Banks was a world class keeper .

12 Feb 2019 17:45:29
Firstly my sincerest condolences goes to the family of the late, great gordon banks, god bless him! Absolute superb world class goalkeeper. I still think IMO, peter schmeichel is the best goalkeeper i've seen, followed closely by our keeper, the great andy goram! All about opinions i suppose.

12 Feb 2019 18:52:36
Banks was a great keeper but Andy goram was the best I've ever seen.

12 Feb 2019 21:07:01
Believe Gordon Banks was best keeper of his or any other generation. RIP.

12 Feb 2019 22:36:31
Stefano Klos was better than them both imo.

12 Feb 2019 09:20:13
I put on a wee bet this morning with William Hill. £10 for Rangers to win the double of Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup. Odds were 9/ 2 and 4/ 1 respectively. £275 return if it comes off but honestly, I'd rather our beloved Bears win the double whether I had a bet or not!

12 Feb 2019 21:44:06
DOIGER; hope your bet comes up mate. I put a tenner on Rangers at the start of the season to win the league . Got 9/1.

12 Feb 2019 09:01:07
£15 for adults and £10 for kids would have meant a sell out and at this time of year me and my son will be giving the match a miss because of the costs which is sad 🇬🇧.

11 Feb 2019 23:48:14
Disgrace, the prices for the replay. Don't know about you bears, but I'm very angry with my club. it's as tho any chance they get they just want more money off us.

12 Feb 2019 02:20:52
Springboy, don't think display at Rugby Park was to squeeze more dough out of us. In general we were **** but getting past Killie away was tricky. Sure we should have won but missing penalty and Defoe bad miss wasn't strategy to eek cash from fans. Just bad day at office.

12 Feb 2019 07:32:35
I think prices are agreed between both clubs but aye, this is not right imo.

12 Feb 2019 09:13:39
Seeker price has to be agreed by both clubs. I agree it's steep but it's killie who insisted on 27 for first tie, they were thinking of pay day at home. Came up with jackpot, if a sell out in replay, they get circa 500,000. Big money for them.

12 Feb 2019 10:30:32
With the money they get for the replay maybe they can buy a new pitch instead of that carpet they play on.

12 Feb 2019 21:39:40
£27 for an adult ticket is hardly a disgrace👍.

11 Feb 2019 21:50:44
Well fellow bears, its kilmarnock and then hopefully the sheep, up there for us, in the quarters. Pretty confident we'll win both ties!
Alfredo Morelos will be the difference, in both games IMO! Both the killie and sheep defenders absolutely hate playing against morelos. El Buffalo more than capable of destroying both their defenders. I truly believe that he'll be the match winner for us, the way he's playing this season. Before someone else says it, yes i do think he'll stay on the park, in both games!
"LETS GO"!

12 Feb 2019 08:09:48
Rangers to appeal Morelos red card in Aberdeen quarterfinal.

12 Feb 2019 10:43:04
Can't believe that Alfredo and Ryan Jack have both received a 3 match ban for watching the Scottish Cup draw live. Both were cited by the SFA compliance officer for dangerous watching habits. Rangers have appealed. Sutton and Stewart have both said they were let off lightly.

12 Feb 2019 12:52:01
The compliance officer, was hiding behind the team settee watching them, just in case.

12 Feb 2019 15:11:03
Coop, you say, "I truly believe that he'll be the match winner for us". Why do you think this? He hasn't been much of a match winner so far this season. I can think of only a handful of games where his goals have been the between us winning and losing. He tends to score more in our high scoring games. He may be the highest goals scorer, but not many of them are match winners.

12 Feb 2019 17:29:11
He doesn’t actually say his goals will be the match winner I think he is referring to Morelos and what he brings to the team, as a blind man can see we perform much better when he plays, even though I cringe every time SC11 makes a post like this because 9 times out a 10 he puts the kiss of death on someone and the opposite happens 😱.
