Right, three foreigner rule talk. It happens tomorrow bears, who is our ideal starting eleven. Can count existing squad and any Scot from the premier League as a signing. What's your eleven look like? Try and avoid dhims where possible 🤣🤣.

12 Sep 2019 08:51:31
Zikos, going by previous 3 foreigner rule, you have 5 foreigners, i. e.

Tav - English
Katic - Croatian
Davis - Irish
Arfield - Canadian (He opted for Canada)
Morelos - Columbian.

12 Sep 2019 11:45:25
Don't want to be a tool bluetoon but the wee man is Northern Irish.

12 Sep 2019 14:42:06
Blue toon the 3 foreigner rule is exactly that. outwith britain. am sure back when the rule was in play chris woods etc were classed as foreigners.

12 Sep 2019 15:34:24
If they’re not Scottish they are a foreigner. Arfield would be eligible though both through being born here and years educated here.

12 Sep 2019 15:57:12
And there's no such thing as a Scottish passport as we are British.

12 Sep 2019 18:09:52
Chunky, I was taught that those from N Ireland were Irish and those from the south were Southern Irish.
Paul86, you are confusing me. First you say those ouwith Britain were foreign and then you say that Chris Woods (English) were classed as foreign.

12 Sep 2019 20:58:18
Sorry blue toon mistake on my part woods etc were not classed as foreigners. the rule was outwith britain.

12 Sep 2019 21:14:14
5 Foreigners? Arfield is Scottish. He was born and raised here therefore he would qualify.

I'm hoping that Davis would also qualify by living here for a few years during his first stint - if not then I would put Doherty into the starting 11.

No big deal.

Either way we can all see that there would be more opportunities for young scots to play and where the bench would be made up entirely of scots.

11 Sep 2019 15:22:00
I've always admired Kris Boyd's analysis of a game of football but he's a couple of yards offside with his comment about it being a middle class sport and damaging Scotland. He says working class kids can't afford boots or goalkeeping gloves. Youth around the world are doing just fine. Just need to look at Belgium with a population less than us. To me it's the academy system. Good first touch and passing but the flair being coached out of them. Davie Cooper would be laughing his head off.

11 Sep 2019 17:31:47
Boyd will say anything for attention. his profile has to be fed . nonsense or not . in his last season for us he was probably the worst player on the park of any game . then he cut down on the pies.

11 Sep 2019 23:41:03
Hes right though, the amount of teams folding in boys and amateur football every year is unreal. The price of pitch hire now is unreal well over 100 for a 2 hour let at 4g facilities, and that's the council ones the private ones are even more expensive. Costs to keep kids playing are spiralling out of control.

11 Sep 2019 23:42:10
Cricket and rugby union are middle class sports. Football always has been the sport of the working class. Trouble is kids nowadays are more interested in their phones or iPads.

12 Sep 2019 07:15:47
interesting you say that herewego, I find in the last 15 to 20 years that too many boys clubs are run by fathers of boys playing in that team and there is to much self interest in there own kid. some of these guys have never played football yet go on a course and get a badge. if people think that football is expensive for kids then try martial arts as its just money after money.

12 Sep 2019 10:47:29
Having coached our local kids team for a few years you can see the kids who have ability from very early on.
We had one very good player who was from a very difficult home who chucked it. Out of a team of 17 or 18 kids we have one that is very top drawer and another 3 very good players. Coaching rigid systems is ok but discouraging for the guys to show individual brilliance.

12 Sep 2019 15:36:16
Doiger - I know a youth coach who says that his team is full of kids called Rory and Rupert getting dropped off in Porsche 4x4s. Working class kids are falling away from the sport rapidly. Look at the current Scotland team, particularly the younger lads, how many of them are working class?

12 Sep 2019 17:33:42
@doiger a lot of kids are on their phones and playstations etc these day but take a wee walk and you’ll see there is nothing for them to do out-with their houses. Facilities for kids are either non existent or too expensive in some areas so they tend to sit on their phones or play ps4. I’ve got a brother who is 14 and when he’s at home in my mums house he does nothing but sit on his phone because their isn’t anything to do. He stays with me once a week and when he gets here he instantly wants to go kick the ball about (I stay near the Glasgow green) . Everyone is addicted to their phones these days and kids get the addiction from seeing parents on said phones constantly.

11 Sep 2019 09:22:19
I think if we brought back the 3 foreigner rule, our national team would undoubtedly improve.

11 Sep 2019 12:15:43
Goph 1872. I mentioned exactly that yesterday, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺.

11 Sep 2019 12:19:10
Goph it may in time, but rangers would suffer with only three non Scots.

11 Sep 2019 12:37:02
Who cares.

11 Sep 2019 17:32:41
All us that's Scottish should care, I certainly care as i'm proud scottish and Always want my national team to do well. I'm scottish through and through simple as that.

11 Sep 2019 17:48:59
Was it not done away with as legally you can't enforce it in employment law?

11 Sep 2019 18:32:25
You might be able to in a post Brexit environment.

11 Sep 2019 18:39:56
With anti rangers bias endemic throughout Scottish football, including the present national team manager and the media, why on earth would I give a millisecond's thought to the welfare of their national team. It isn't mine any more.

11 Sep 2019 18:57:26
I respect your opinion Coop, but the Tartan Army and Mr Clarke are finished with me and when I am on my bus to the games I’d say the majority of guys say the same✌️.

11 Sep 2019 19:33:05
You simply need to have a gentleman’s agreement in place between all clubs not to field more than 3 foreigners. That is perfectly legal. If it wasn’t legal then athletic Bilbao would be in breach of the law as they never sign players out with the basque region.

11 Sep 2019 19:49:11
Fair point on Bilbao zikos. Never thought of that.

11 Sep 2019 19:50:09
I love my country, but will never support a corupt corp which is the sfa and all to do with them. That includes the national team.

11 Sep 2019 20:16:45
Yeah and let's all go watch dross every week. As if it that would happen. Would love to see how far any of our clubs get in Europe then haha.

11 Sep 2019 20:42:03
Wasn’t there a 3 foreigner rule in place when we nearly reached the final of the first champions league?

Personally think the foreigners we are bringing in atm are not much better than Scottish lads (if at all) . The only downside would be that the really good Scottish players would have huge power over the clubs and could hold them to ransom over salaries.

11 Sep 2019 23:56:27
its because I am a proud scot that I will not support this sfa or its team.

12 Sep 2019 05:38:49
Yeah so rangers would have to pay well over 10mil for the likes of McKenna when we can go out and get Katic for 1.5. Probably talking 3/ 4 for souttar. Nice idea lads but wouldn't work and it would take about 10 years before we confirmed it.

12 Sep 2019 05:51:48
In todays society a limit on the number of foreign employees that a business can employ would technically be discriminatory.

Even if the motivation is completely innocent. lol.

12 Sep 2019 15:37:07
No it wouldn’t nationality is not a protected characteristic in employment law.

Review Of The Day 11th September 2019

11 Sep 2019 07:39:01
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 11th September 2019

10 Sep 2019 23:53:24
Would the TRFC fans on here be happy to go bust again if it meant stopping the 10IAR?

11 Sep 2019 01:34:18
Would the Celtic fans be happy to go bust if it ment achieving 10 iar. That's how irrelevant your question is.

11 Sep 2019 08:36:38
what ten in a row? your lot made sure we weren't there for most of it.

11 Sep 2019 09:23:28
Nice one Stewarty. don’t expect a reply. on another note I see the Nigerian fans are raving about joe Aribo . watched the game he was great . tired at end . Brilliant to hear commentator continually mention the great Glasgow Rangers and Stevie G . did our profile no harm at all . Well done Joe.

11 Sep 2019 15:07:05
@IC - considering Pacific Shelf are only on 8, you are getting a wee bit ahead of yourself 👍.

11 Sep 2019 17:49:53
Would Celtic fans give up six months of giros and discount tracksuits for 10IAR? Let's ask the real questions here gents.
