Not a rumour, but just on ssn. Sports Direct to join the FTSE 100. Makes them a huge business now. Interesting given Mike Ashley's investment in Rangers?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What investment? he is taking money out.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 ok mr Stockbridge can you tell us what money he's taken out

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing to do with rangers we will not see a penny pointless post. steveblue

Agree0 Disagree0

He's making a killing from your strip deal. Fleeced again bears

Agree0 Disagree0

This fantastic success story underlines how astute Mike Ashley is

Highly unlikely to invest in a brand that has been compromised by

Tax fraud (found guilty of small tax case - never paid the fine) with huge case under appeal.

Sectarian history and baggage

Board room chaos in full public view

Rangers went bust owing business's large and small a fortune - not to mention the public purse

Fans clinging to the delusion that the club survived liquidation and have bought into the fairy tale that an incorporated entity was "unincorporated" just before death - despite CG/JT/GS/RG and a host of others dismissing this nonsense

Why on earth would he ever want to be involved

.

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 he must be involved in some way as he has shares in the club and his company sells the replica kit. Another bitter post from someone who tries to mask their hatred in a blog

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 person with no name
Time to make your mind up at
one point you say the club was
liquidated, talk about debt and
sectarian history. so as you say
and try to make out we are a new
club were does the debt & sectarian
history come from

@5 he already is involved you botton ie sports direct advertised all round stadium & he also has a shareholding so if you want 2 act a smart arse get your facts correct
Andhol bears

Agree0 Disagree0

@5, Either you are saying were a completely new club (which has no baggage what so ever) or we are still the same club with it all intact. make up you mind and try again.
If a company goes into liquidation and as part of their holdings I purchase their directors Ford Mondeo, does that mean after they have been dissolved my newly purchased car is no longer a Mondeo (even although I have already re-registered it).
Maybe over simplified, but I'm sure that even you can figure it out.

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 good post. Highly innacurate and hate filled but you have achieved what you. intended. Wound some of us up. I was going to post a strong offensive reply but I wouldn't lower myself to your level. I'm a human being.

Agree0 Disagree0

N5 rangers were never found guilty regards small tax they plead guilty and that makes a big difrence guilty of an error in paper work

On the subject of which c/b to sign would
it not be a good idea instead of putting
the young goalie out on loan and
signing the former dundee keeper,
keep the young goalie let the former
dundee man go and sign the two c/b

@op to billy h totally agree with you there M8 that would be the logical thing to do as long as big Zaliukas is totaly fit? As I believe ally and rangers are building a team for not just this season but next and the season after that, and the 2 cb pandza and Zaliukas would be some catch and would be perfect.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Alex 1972 thinking same
for the seasons ahead

gallagher needs to play every week sadly he won't get that at rangers atm that's why he's going on loan because bell is first choise because simply he's the better keeper as much as gallagher is a good kepper and think he should be in the team until he does wrong as am a strong belever of you don't change a winning team but there is logic in sending him on loan as this now gives him gametime and then will only get better for us in the future just like big

Agree0 Disagree0

Bell is number 1 that is why he wants a backup? He wants gallacher to get experience of 1st team football not to sit on a bench for the next 30+ games, zaliukus will sign.

HAMILTON LAD

Agree0 Disagree0

Controversial but il say none. Give Gasparotto a chance or get that boy out on loan because he looks a player, or just use Mcausland as cover if Fosters going to play RB never know Peralta might end up even playing there. Got plenty of defensive options.

Looking forward to this weekend to get the club football back on track. Just can't bring myself to watch the pointless national games. Nice to see the team performing again though, but as usual too little too late. Bizarre that despite the league Rangers are in and the toil in the background, I really can't wait to see the team fielded and the performance this weekend. Hopeful for some goals and some nice football to take the mind away from the backroom shenanigans. Lastly, there are some right dobbers on here spouting all sorts on nonsense - some comical, others chronic.

was really hopeing wallace would hit the back of the net to shut a few people up about how he wouldn't be able to cope at playing at "that level"!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hitting the net didn't really matter mate. The fact is he was only on the park a short while and created a great opportunity. Thought Wallace did well and is easily good enough to play for Scotland. In all honesty I don't think the gap in quality between league 1 and the Scottish premiership is that huge (Celtic aside). By no means am I saying it's the same standard but I doubt playing at our level will do his chances of international football any harm. Although no longer in Scottish football I don't feel Whittaker offers anymore than Wallace. In fact, I would go as far as saying I think Wallace is more consistent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree mate, and whittaker is being played out of position, which is a wee bit unfair aswell!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Sep 2013 17:16:59
1. Agree that Wallace is good enough to play for Scotland but as for not much difference in the SPFL & First Division, you're kidding yourself on, or do you really think any team in that div outwith Rangers has even a remote chance to make QFs of a Scottish Cup or League Cup? Take Hibs, pathetically poor at times but at least capable of reaching Cup finals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Playing third tier in Scotland then playing international isn't going to work, he got a chance because it was last couple of minutes and he was fresh.
A agree Wallace is a good player but to go from playing posites and milkmen to playing against players like Pandev, modric, benteke your having a laugh. If nicky Clark scores 30 goals this season should he get a call up?

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 it doesn't matter what level Wallace plays at he's the best Scottish LB so he should be picked rather than play a rb who's not that good out of position the level a player plays at doesn't deter from the quality they have

Agree0 Disagree0

Wallace showed that he is a class act best left back in uk bar none think we might struggle to keep him next season

Agree0 Disagree0

He only played last 10 min when every one was tired and was a weak header that caused the goal we lost

@3 I seem to remeber gretna making the scottish cup final, as did others, and Aberdenn will be able to tell you about div 1 teams and teams lower down

If Nicky Clark scores 30 goals then I sincerely hope he does have a chance for Scotland, we don't actually score a lot of goals you know pal, and we ain't Italy, or Spain, why shoudnt he be tried?

Agree0 Disagree0

Simply because he would be scoring goals at a crap level, there has been plenty of high goalscorers through the seasons in lower divisions they don't get call ups. Ma m8 scores goals for maryhill juniors should he get a call up 2.
We're Gretna not playing in the top division and did they have any international players.
When Wallace is back playing at a high level dnt think there will be any moans.

Agree0 Disagree0

@10 Gretna weren't in top division when they made the Scottish cup final.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ doesn't matter they didn't have any players playing international and they wer obviously playing well

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Sep 2013 21:03:54
try and keep it sensible pal, no gretna werent, and secondly, I never said he should be a mainstay of scotland, I said if he scores a lot of goals for rangers he should be tried? might be that he, s actually a great striker? might not < you seem to have forgotten that he may have scored a lot of these goals against teams from a higher league, do we wait til his best days are behind him because he ain't in the spfl,?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sensible ha coming from a guy that thinks scoring goals in the 3rd tier of Scottish football u should be tried for Scotland, over the years there has been numerous high scorers in lower leagues they have never been near a Scotland team.
Gretna players must have been playing well did any get near a Scotland team?

Was just thinking of that fantastic film Super Ally made "A Shot At Glory" (recently watched it again) that man should have won an Oscar (wonder whose idea it was to make him an ex Celtic player), I mean it was so believable and was great to see a movie that was so consistant with reality (honest).
So with McCoist leading the way and old Vinny having his crack at a footy movie (Mean Machine), I was wondering if anyone knew of any other ex footy stars who pulled on the old boots again for a fictional character on the silver screen with exception of Escape to victory (to many of them)?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Eric cantona

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep. Looking For Eric. Great Film. At Rangers we could have "Looking For Anybody Accountable"

Agree0 Disagree0

If Sharon Stone qualifies as an 'old boot' then yes. I think Stan Collymore 'pulled her on' in Basic Instinct 2

(Sharon Stone. you still would wouldn't you)

Agree0 Disagree0

What about those crappy movies GOAL AND GOAL 2 they had a few in it

I Keep reading on both Celtic and Rangers sites that we are the biggest best club in the world/britain/scotland with the biggest support. The most successful etc etc etc Why is your team the best/biggest I have tried to post this on both sites it will be intresting to see the facts people use to prove these statements.

Rangobango

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well Rangobango, where to begin,
firstly, what's your opinion?
If you are a Ranger's supporter then you shouldn't need anyone here to tell you why it's the greatest club.
Secondly, if you support THEM (drum roll with a small accompaniment on piano), then nothing said here will change the opinion you already have.
So finally, If a train leaves Edinburgh travelling at 70mph at 2pm and a train leaves Glasgow travelling at 75mph at 2:15pm, what colour is the lady in the first carriage's underwear that is hanging on her washing line back home next to the yellow socks?.
Answers welcome.

If she does her washing same as my wife all of her clothes and underwear will be kind of pink.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blue tights, white knickers and a red bra.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, just had a look at the back of the book for the answer, it seems there grey with a brown stripe, must have been on the Edinburgh train.

Agree0 Disagree0

OneOten, was that an answer or a fantasy?.
I think I might know her.

Agree0 Disagree0

Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world, end of.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was the answer. as the fantasy one wears none.

@7:, Real Madrid?. Glad you finished it off with "end of", would have hated to have a long drawn out boring debate about it.

RANGERS are the most susessful club in the world not the best plain and simple

Glasgow Rangers. Formed in 1873, Rangers were the first club in the world to win more than 50 league titles. They are also the most-honoured football club in the world, having won 114 trophies in total.
winning the league title 54 times, the Scottish Cup 33 times and the Scottish League Cup 27 times
and last of all thrid division in the 2012-2013 season
witch I have not included in the 114 trophies above

Was just about to ask what W. A. T. P was but just this moment as I typed it I figured it out, so yes, we jolly well are.
With an average height of about 6 feet, were certainly aren't the smallest.

Agree0 Disagree0

So are rangers more successful than AC Milan a team with roughly 18 major European titles to there name, can't see how.
Rangers are the most sucsesful domestic league winners.

Agree0 Disagree0

@13 I thought linfield are the most successful football team?
