What about graham potter for the managers job? he's had 3 promotions in sweden and just beat galatasary, hertha berlin and a draw with bilbao in the europa league. 1 win away from the knockout rounds. all of that on a shoe string budget compared with ours

11 Nov 2017 20:27:36
The gers are too big a club for him . it’s alright winning the Swedish league but being a successful manger for us I just can’t see it mate . nor with mcinnes

11 Nov 2017 20:38:50
I’d take a punt on him, though he’d probably want to see the season out with Ostersunds if/ when they qualify!

11 Nov 2017 20:47:42
The Gers are too big a club? . The glue is strong.

11 Nov 2017 20:51:07
oh dear the gers are too big of club for him. i almost fell out my bed. you seem to forget malmo beat yo easily last time when we had a semi decent team. unfortuneatly swedish football is at a higher level than our league. graham potter and billy reid would be fantastic for us.

11 Nov 2017 21:24:55
Am no convinced aboot mcinnes either. but he's looking lyk the best ae a bad bunch the noo. has he even had a result agaist celtic lol

12 Nov 2017 01:14:24
😂😂 superb only here to see the rangers.

12 Nov 2017 23:17:49
@tttsmark2 - Desmond wants to know ' are you a Rangers Supporter '? 😂

11 Nov 2017 17:38:23
I really think Mark Allen and Derek McInnes can strike up a partnership to secure a sustainable winning product at Auchenhowie and Ibrox. I've said it before. Rangers are only 2 or 3 players away from having a team which can realistically compete for every bit of silverware in Scotland. If McInnes is allowed to make 1 or 2 signings when his term as manager begins which stabilise the defence and maybe add a new dynamic to the squad. His squad will be ready to confidently fight for domestic honours. If he achieves this, he can then look for insperation for a flair player in the European market through Mark Allens's scouting network just like Walter Smith did with Ewan Chester throughout his time at the club. I think it will make an evident difference scouting players for set periods before buying from which we will reap the rewards on the park.

11 Nov 2017 18:01:32
1 or 2 signings? Where? What positions and who? .
Dont u realise if u sigm x y or z we will just buy A B or C or have u not thought of that.
You are miles behind us not just in finance but in youth, stadia, coaching, planning and boardroom level.
You really are deluded.

11 Nov 2017 18:46:19
That's funny, Rayman called someone else deluded. 👍

11 Nov 2017 18:47:08
Rayman your right when you say yous are miles ahead of us just now. But yous went from absolute guff to a team capable of a record breaking undefeated run in the space of summer holidays. So quick turn arounds are always possible, and it'll happen to us soon enough. Bound to get it right sooner or later.

11 Nov 2017 18:49:32
But not on the most important things - titles won

11 Nov 2017 19:22:54
Ray man you’ve always got to much to say for your self you might have more money than us but what youth are yous miles ahead with

11 Nov 2017 19:40:14
Rayman i think youve got a deluded impression that your miles ahead in everything when your really not, paranoia yes, everything is against us yes that's what your miles in front of, you weren't so cocky when Delilah was in charge, we will get it right soon and maybe brenda will be your next Delilah,

11 Nov 2017 20:00:31
I think we are a long way off that Nassau. To start winning titles again we need to be on top form week in week out and other teams need to start taking more off Celtic. 2-3 players would be a starting point and would certainly take us clear of the rest then who knows.

Brendan Rodgers has done what he has done purely because he is a fantastic coach and has transformed the players that he inherited and sprinkled in a touch of quality from a market he new well. Dembele was a steal and they’ll make a fortune on him.

We need to plucking players from obscurity and giving them the European platform to showcase there talent and turning a tidy profit. This profit then needs reinvested in more players from the continent and our youth ranks. This is the hardest thing in football as all the big clubs and some smaller ones with fat tv deals just stockpile all the young talent from across the world. Our best chance is to provide a pathway to the starting line up for these types of player and give them the option of 1st team SPL/ Europa League or Under23 football elsewhere.

11 Nov 2017 20:18:04
Brendan will be our next deila! 😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝 absolute belter! Can’t stop laughing at that! 😂😂😂 and gersman I’ll name u one youth that we’re miles ahead with and he goes by the name Kieran Tierney! Who’s worth more than your whole team combined!

11 Nov 2017 20:28:19
give us a laugh then LH86. What you think Tierneys market value is? In Pounds Sterling and not the Dembele Dollars

11 Nov 2017 20:38:56
Tbh Tierney is a good player but He's no Danny McGrain or Sandy Jardine. Looks lost in CL ties.

11 Nov 2017 21:26:34
The above comment was not meant to get under the skin of the opposition. Nor was the discussion of Rangers progression intended to make opposing fans uneasy.

11 Nov 2017 21:43:21
Lh86 so having 1 youth player makes yous miles ahead in the youth department. Is he worth the same crap that was getting banded about for Dembele. Much is he with then and won’t be long till he’s away anyway and what will you’d do with all that money

11 Nov 2017 21:54:50
Tierney is one bad injury off being worth nowt. great player tho. I like Ross McRorie, ironically many "fans" are too busy slagging each other off to notice the real truth. there's a fantastic Scotland team in the making. We need a manager who can open his eyes wide enough to go with the youth. Crap from English leagues is pointless.

12 Nov 2017 02:36:21
Jesus now Tierney is one bad injury away from being worth nothing! More wishful thinking! 😂😂😂😂😂 Tierney is worth easily 15 million+ and if he continues the way he’s going it will be a lot more! Anyone on here who disagrees with that ain’t just deluded they’re plain stupid! Captained the champions and his country and played nearly 100 games and he’s only 20! The boy is easily the best player Scotland’s produced in the last 20 years! Well gersman I’ll ask u a question then, who’s youth team has won more since the newco were founded? Yours or ours? And ok if Tierney isn’t enough what about McGregor Forrest ralston Miller Johnston? Who have all played first team football this season?

12 Nov 2017 03:47:17
If we can add few top players each year then it’s only a matter of time before we go back to how it was. The league title coming down to points taken during old firm games and the odd loss to the others being a shock. It won’t matter if celtic win 5-0 every game, the 4 old firm games will decide where the trophy goes.

12 Nov 2017 07:21:22
I know for a fact its Murty till end if the season. believe or not that's what it is. Big problems at Board level now. Parks and son paid off Pedros contract. Its a 7 month pay off but they underwrote it. They are now refusing to lend any more funds to the club. let's see what happens with King and concert party. Directors are not lutting in any more cash till that is resolved so we shall see what happens.

12 Nov 2017 07:22:17
'When his term as manager begins'! Are you really peds11, Nassau Bear? McInnes will never be manager of a club as big as Rangers FC, he's the poorest possible choice and I can't believe that some fans think he's what we need. A massive backward step.

12 Nov 2017 16:48:31
Rayman. . ahead in stadia. have u looked at your stadium. Its Legoland.

11 Nov 2017 15:30:44
Just wanted to make a point that wee Jason Holt has done brilliantly since coming in, alongside Dorrans in the St Johnstone game and along side Jack in the Hearts and Partick game.

Maybe if Pedro had played him behind Morelos instead of Pena in the Motherwell semi final we might have been in the final?

CAM is where I think he is best anyways, very direct. When Dorrans comes back I think we should play all 3, Holt, Jack Dorrans. Swap Holt with Miller depending on games. Miller won't have the stamina for every single game anymore I'd imagine?

11 Nov 2017 16:16:26
I've always liked wee Holt. He's a real hundred percenter and I would certainly have him in my team.

11 Nov 2017 17:24:10
I've always liked jason holt also, the seeker! When we first signed him from hearts for a paltry 65k, i said on here then that i would always find a starting place in the rangers team, for holty! He's got terrific energy, never hides even if he's not playing well, great at timing his runs and must be an absolute nuisance, for the opposition to play against! Remembers a lot of wee doddie mcdonald! Pleased he's back in our team!

11 Nov 2017 18:06:33
good shout seeker wee holt would be in my starting 11

for a cntr mid he’s got a good touch, runs all day and carries the ball into space whereas dorrans and jack both tend to prefer to sit and pass it, so holt is a good foil for 1 of those 2

under warbs holt also played further fwd and got ahead of the strikers into the box and scored some good goals for us so offers something at both ends of the park which i think jack is missing

id personally have dorrans and holt cntr mid

PS (pls santa can we sign big moult in jan. )

11 Nov 2017 18:48:01
70% of the earth is oceans and the rest is covered by Jason Holt.

11 Nov 2017 22:23:34
Holt has played his way into the starting eleven. I worried for him last season when he gifted their goal in the 1-1 game but he has bided his time and grasped his opportunity when it came. He has to be involved in any midfield combo right now, the time for favouriting has passed, pick players on form, pick up 3 Pts, it’s not rocket science.

12 Nov 2017 05:26:35
Holt isn’t good enough if we are ever going to challenge Celtic. Their midfield just brush him aside

11 Nov 2017 13:44:03
I've always stated on here, that if it came down to between graeme murty or derek mcinnes, to be our new manager, then imo
i'd prefer graeme murty! Ticks a lot more boxes for me, than derek mcinnes does!

Ed, could you please set up a poll for our supporters regarding between murty and mcinnes, who they'd prefer between the two, for the new rangers manager!

{Ed033's Note -

Murty or McInnes Poll

11 Nov 2017 16:15:50
Supercooper what boxes does Murty tick more than Mcinnes you keep saying the same thing ticks more boxes and don’t rule out Murty are you his agent You would think you are. I don’t think Murty has enough experience for the job he’s done ok in the games he’s been in charge for I don’t think it merits him getting the job full time maybe number 2 for a bit just don’t think he’s ready for the job

11 Nov 2017 16:43:13
Over half the votes want murty? really c'mon you talk about getting it right try not be a risky appointment and over half the votes want a rookie jeezo the mind boggles

11 Nov 2017 17:32:25
Gersman, i've stated on here on previous posts, what boxes murty ticks over mcinnes, so for your benefit, i'll do it again my friend! Murty knows the structure of the club all the way through, murty has tactical nous, murty is able to motivate the rangers players to run through brick walls for him, the players clearly like him, he can change a playing formation to suit a particular game, he's already there and no compo needed, he's obviously a good coach, mcinnes only ticks 1 box better than murty imo, he has more managerial experience! Hope that appeases you mate!

11 Nov 2017 17:28:40
McInnes and Murty as his assistant for me.

11 Nov 2017 17:43:02
I get what your saying he’s in the club but have you watched all Aberdeen’s games to see what formations Derek uses in all games so I don’t get that Murty knows how to change tactics what game do you base this on the Celtic game. I’m sure if Derek or whoever gets the job will know how the club is going to be ran from the bottom up as Mark Allen has recruited all the new staff to run this so don’t think Murty will know how it’s running himself yet I just think he’s not experienced enough for the job and I just think he would crack under the pressure and I don’t want that for him as I believe he can be good for the club

11 Nov 2017 20:00:52
No way is he experienced enough, he's never managed a team full time and some think he's the man to sort out our mess. Don't get me wrong, i like the bloke, but we can't have a rookie as gaffer at this crucial time no way.

11 Nov 2017 20:43:24
Or just get McInnes and keep Murty!?

12 Nov 2017 07:23:36
Problem is, fergie 81, these polls that have only two names are deliberately designed to be argumentative. Of the two put up I chose Murty simply because there's not much difference between them, but I hope neither get the job as right now neither of them is not what we need. In fact McInnes will never be what we need - at least Murty might be at some time in the future.

12 Nov 2017 23:04:02
Good shout dutycalls, totally in agreement with you mate!

11 Nov 2017 13:14:32
Let's for once praise the SFA for dishing out an eight game ban to the Falkirk player (. I won't even dignify him by putting hi name in print ) for the abuse he gave to dean Shiels that is a step too far, we are all football fans, but human beings first and foremost.

11 Nov 2017 12:19:18
for Gods sake Rangers, get our new manager in pronto, it takes the Vatican less time to choose a new Pope.

11 Nov 2017 12:45:49
Why rush, we are unbeaten since Pedro left. All those saying it is an embarrassment well it's only an embarrassment to them I'd rather we took our time to get it right

11 Nov 2017 13:46:04
I can see both sides of the argument here, ritchie2 and gary75, but what i will say is surely to goodness they know by now the names of the preferred candidates, that they wish to talk to! So hopefully get the interviews done and make their choice!

11 Nov 2017 15:33:33
we took our time the last two times, and boy did we make a bolloks of it, we have had PLENTY of time

11 Nov 2017 17:13:13
We can afford to take our time as we have a safe pair of hands in just now and we’ve won the last 2 games. don't let diddys like fat Adam tell us its embarrassing

11 Nov 2017 10:11:30
Charlie Adam on soccer am, said there is only 1 team he would return to Scotland to play for, let's get him back.

11 Nov 2017 10:37:04
He has said several times that the only club he would come back to Scotland for is his hometown club if Dundee

11 Nov 2017 11:21:04
We don't need sugar puff teeth back, he fumbles through games these days.

11 Nov 2017 15:15:58
Aye GM but he also happened to say if he can't get into stoke starting 11 he'd prefer to stay down south

11 Nov 2017 09:47:37
Another reason for King and the Board to go for McInnes is the sheer fact that he is imo the vast majority of our Supports choice. This means that if the Club were to opt for someone else and he does not take the Club forward or worse he fails miserably then the flak King and the Board would get would be massive!
McInnes is tge obvious Candidate! He has shown consistency, and has the huge benefit of not only knowing our game but knows OUR Squad AND the other Teams! This is Knowledge that would take a Pardew etc a fair amount of time to get up to the level of a Manager such as McInnes! Even at yhid moment you coukd ask Del how he would like to set the Team up, WHO he would keep AND WHO he doesn't rate and prob get rid of.
He could probably do this with a fair amount of confidence. Ask one of the other Candidates and all would need 4-6wks minimum to get the slightest clue!
Only other Man who could combine close to this kind of thing is Wright who for me if he git the job, I would be fine with! The big man deserves a crack at Managing a big Club. I het a good feeling about him, I think he could come in and the Playerd would take to him and end up busting a gut for him. Think BOTH have got that Walter Smith vibe.

Another thing. Who knows the situation regarding the Lads on Loan? Are they ALL on Loan for a full Season or are all/ some coming back to the Club in January.
Thoughts on what the chances of any even getting a chance to prove themselves under new Manager?
Don't know how much will be available for Players in Jan but think offloading a few for an actual Fee be it minimal would be wise. Can see McLean arriving if McInnes gets in and maybe a couple of loans.

11 Nov 2017 10:25:16
your whole post seems to be its okay for mcinnes to get the job if he can bring in mclean and a couple of loan players is the sheep the benchmark we have got to, time to move on from mcinnes it ain't going to happen if it did and he failed it would come back and haunt us

11 Nov 2017 11:14:42
No. I just mentioned that McLean may come in Jan and as for the Loans, if finances are stretched then Loans prob makes sense although we may have some loans coming back! Dunno how Dodoo has been doing or if he will be back Jan.
Sheep are not the benchmark but 2nd this Year is a minimum!

11 Nov 2017 12:48:25
Andy your consistent, as I never usually agree with you. I don't think there are as many as you think want mcinnes

11 Nov 2017 13:34:54
Andy you have far too much time on your hands mate.

11 Nov 2017 14:07:47
McLean is crap and isn't the kind of players that will get us closer to Celtic we need quality not ok imo

11 Nov 2017 14:24:43
I’d said the other day I estimated around 50% want McInnes and the other 50% were split between all the other candidates. I’d say the longer it’s going the more people are swaying away from DM. The truth is, we have no idea of the budgets involved. There are cheaper options than McInnes and more expensive options including the budgets they would be looking for transfers and wages etc.

At the end of the day the board members have put their money in and they will make the choice they think is best. No one of them would make an intentionally bad choice.

They may well decide that DM is the best option, if they do I’m behind him 100% but I’d love an appointment with more intent, Gio van Bronckhorst or the like but the main think I want from any appointment is someone who can develop our young players and who can set a team up properly. oh wait, that could be Graeme Murty!

11 Nov 2017 17:17:35
But a poll on here says more fans want Murty if it was a two horse race between him and McInnes. Kind of damages your assertions a wee bit, Wee Bear.

11 Nov 2017 09:41:26
Morning all, I reported last week that cosgrove had said he heard from BBC that Mcinnes would be unveiled on Thur we all know that didn't turnout to be accurate. However it does seem plausible that thur was penciled in and the negotiation is taking longer (as reported in press) than anticipated. The interesting observation in all this is, Mcinness is the only one sitting quietly saying nothing, no reports of contact, no cv sent in, no rumours of being in Glasgow, no DK in Aberdeen. The silence is deafening, he coming home.
On another note if he is our next manager, do we think it will be easier for Rangers to prize away good players from Hibs, Aberdeen etc as I think DM will have a better relationship with rest of the SPL managers than Pedro or Warburton ever did, it might be "slightly" easier. ATB.

11 Nov 2017 10:28:22
why is everyone wetting themselves waiting on mcinnes just an average manager who i think would fail at rangers

11 Nov 2017 14:10:25
Mcinnes will do well at ibrox but I don't know if the board even wants him. it's all very quiet imo but that's not a bad thing at least nothing is leaking out

11 Nov 2017 17:15:24
Its quiet because its the done thing not to come out as a board and tell the world who u want as your next manager

11 Nov 2017 09:04:29
If it is McCinnes that the Board have decided to go for yhen I'm thinking that it may be the compensation fee that is being negotiated. We may be trying to get it reduced OR negotiating the terms of Payment i:e how much up front and then how much paid over X amount of time? THIS can be the only reason that I can think of over why the appointment of McInnes may be taking some time to announce! what's your thoughts Bears IF Del is the Man that we want then things like bringing him in after this Game or that Game to me is a bit lame as whoever we want we want in asap!
Also talk of Gio must stop! He is Managing a Team who are financially sorted, are in the CL AND as far as I'm aware Feyenord are the Team he grew up Supporting AND the Team that he started with! I'm sure that if he was at any other Club then coming to Rangers would appeal to him massively.
Said before but to be able to bring in a Manager who is up to date with Scottish Football AND our Club would be of huge benefit! To me that OBVISOULY means that we MUST bring either McInnes or Wright.
Financially it makes sense too regarding wages as I would think that most other British Managers would Command more IF the other Candidates are the Names neing mentioned!
Anyways in my opinion the only other Names that should be mentioned for the Position ARE Coleman and possibly Redknapp, I really rate Coleman and have always been a fan of Redknapp but would understand the flak for putting him forward BUT both I think understand how big our Club is!
Money wise tho I think they may end up getting at least double the amount McInnes or Wright could get! , .

11 Nov 2017 07:17:06
We will beat them. x.

11 Nov 2017 07:20:50
Who? And why the kiss?

11 Nov 2017 10:19:30
Celtic are there for the taking

11 Nov 2017 11:31:51
Goph you are dreaming just now. Go back to sleep

11 Nov 2017 13:34:25
Anybody remember Billy Urquhart? Every time I see Pena in action and that first touch of his he reminds me of him. Sorry Sir John Greig but a real beauty.

11 Nov 2017 13:35:37
Jyf , brilliant

11 Nov 2017 01:16:47
Think we should look at graham potter English manager at Swedish team Östersund. got them promoted 3 divisions up now in top division. they sit top of ther Europa league group. wouldn't cost much.

11 Nov 2017 11:34:05
Aye. he going to leave a club, likely to qualify from their EUROPA LEAGE group, to come to a rangers side not even worthy of competing For top spot in their domestic league
