Couple of points to make
1 where do people think we will be getting money to strengthen in January?
2 I thought Lee Wallace done a good job for Scotland tonight. James forest should have scored when Wallace cut it back into the box and Griffiths dummied it. I also thought he linked up well with brown ( as disturbingly as that may seem)
What so you guys think?

11 Nov 2016 22:52:07
Agree mate it was the centre backs that done us tonight, thought we actually played some nice stuff tonight and as much as i don't like celtic thought brown was ok but griffiths up front brought something to the team tonight though why burke wasnt used ill never know, i think it will be a strong midfielder and cf brung in.

11 Nov 2016 22:41:26
lee wallace was the only Scotland player who wanted to play football. forrest, Fletcher, Hanley, snodgrass, anya were absolutely woeful. snodgrass is usually our best player but tonight was abysmal.

11 Nov 2016 23:16:30
Stmonkeyrfc, I thought over the course or lf the first 45 mins Scotland outplayed England. Pressed the ball well and created a few guilt edge opportunities and really we should have been well in with a shout of winning the game.

11 Nov 2016 23:43:15
Nothing like watching a game with blue tinted specs on cee eh?

12 Nov 2016 09:23:42
I'll give an honest opinion on the match as I don't support any of the 2 teams. The scotland defence is atrocious. Wallace good going forward but doesn't know how to defend as proven by the 2nd goal. Hanley isn't a good defender either. Scotland had chances to take something from the match but there defence let them down. As for England they took there chances but they weren't that hot either. As a neutral I thought Scotland played pretty well.

12 Nov 2016 10:03:41
@yogibear72 - thought the team played no bad, just never took any of the opportunities that came our way. Getting done by 3 headers iis poor though.

12 Nov 2016 10:13:50
I don't think wearing blue tinted specs helped but the bright pink ones did. I don't know who designed or chose this or why it was allowed but I can't imagine a Brazilian national team walking out to sing its national anthem dressed like that.

12 Nov 2016 12:06:07
Thought England were slightly better pish than us, Adams, Hutton etc honestly what difference would they have made, that to me smacks of just wanting a rangers man instead.

12 Nov 2016 14:55:38
Kfraser are you for real 'why it was allowed'? i know how could someone let them wear a girls colour. It is because scotlands origianl home top was pink, lots of scotland tops have been pink. Plenty of brazillians play for Barcelona in their pink top. This isn't the 1940s mate.

12 Nov 2016 17:00:06
we just got barton off the books. albeit an expensive mistake that was very unavoidable. i think waghorn and 1 or 2 others will also be away in january that frees up 40k in wages to bring 4 half decent players in, even its on on loan. a striker, midfielder and 2 defenders.

12 Nov 2016 23:17:46
Cee wallace was the only one that wanted to play football lol ok then . must be the only time he has done that this season.

13 Nov 2016 09:49:28
Calm down! Anyone can see that Wallace was Scotland best player including all the journos! Albeit not hard in a team with Broonie and James Forest!

14 Nov 2016 13:18:30
if we played at that level for 90 mins against the rest of the group teams we wouldn't be where we are at th moment.

however we played well against them and that's with a weakened side!
strachans team selection is embarrassing no other country would leave out their best players.
can anyone tell me what is wrong with Naismith bar far our best player and not on the pitch!
is he injured or something.

11 Nov 2016 20:26:34
I for one never thought we would win the league this year. I did however think we would be much better than we are, bye and large our signings have not been as good as hoped. Pretty obvious Warbs took a chance on some players, with injury histories, that has not, so far, worked. January will be interesting.

14 Nov 2016 13:20:45
i for one do not think January will be interesting as we have no money and won't bring in anyone of real quality.
boughy and bartley would top my list for January but that's just my opinion.

11 Nov 2016 16:00:21
Can I ask my fellow fans does anyone think lee Wallace will get a game tonight?
Even with the injuries at left back I'm still not sure he'll get a start, but I hope he does and I hope he has a blinder if he plays.

11 Nov 2016 16:20:54
He won't start. Not a chance. Never. Not while he is in charge.

11 Nov 2016 16:52:21
For me, Lee Wallace isn't playing great for club and would be really surprised if he play's tonight for Scotland.

11 Nov 2016 16:55:29
he should play he's the best option but imo it will be sicknote mulgrew.

11 Nov 2016 17:21:54
Will be out of order if chesney makes brown captain.

11 Nov 2016 18:00:52
If it's down to form he shouldn't play Chris Burke ripped him God knows what sterling could do to him.

11 Nov 2016 18:08:27
according to Sutton ikechi amwar is a right back haha. nearly as bad as charlie Nicholas at saying names.

11 Nov 2016 18:53:02
Wallace included in starting 11 guys.

11 Nov 2016 20:21:09
I think he will start!

11 Nov 2016 21:03:27
Well into the second half now, has he started yet?

11 Nov 2016 21:46:13
Actually thot Wallace had a really good game tonight got forward well set up 2 great chances we really should have scored from.

11 Nov 2016 22:54:24
I, for one thought Lee Wallace was great tonight but, I was in the process of getting pished and my wife was rattling on about me ignoring her Christmas present ideas so, as usual, didn't see much of the game👩🍸😩.

11 Nov 2016 14:47:58
Just a quick gauge of opinion here. Would it be beyond the realms of possibility to see Sir Walter back at the helm?

11 Nov 2016 15:53:22
Walter is gone for good, he's retired and another thing yes we all loved Walter but he had plenty of money to buy good players unlike warburton, how about getting behind warburton and give him time to build something good at the club, because that's what he's trying to do, but he's been very unlucky with his summer signings regarding injury and the Barton saga, but it's only my opinion and every fan has a right to voice theirs too.

11 Nov 2016 16:36:08
I am behind warburton. But i'm not having this "unlucky with injuries" malarky, and certainly not with the barton episode. He signed off on these guys, knowing there history with injures etc. Ie crooks Rossiter windass kranjcar Barton. All signed and unfit to start the campaign.

11 Nov 2016 16:56:32
Jesus Christ how old is Walter Smith? his football was rank and relied on individual players to win trophies, he doesn't have the likes of davis, mendes, ferguson, mcgregor, Hutton anymore.

11 Nov 2016 17:03:46
Agree cee I don't think sir Walter would do any better than Warburton with the players we have at this moment in time.

11 Nov 2016 17:12:13
Cee your comments his football was rotten got us trophies galore and a UEFA cup final. Perhaps you would prefer the utter dross we are watching at present? MW could not turn this around with 50 million
Simply out his depth. Unhappy players and a dressing room in revolt he, s doing a grand job
I would take Walter and Sir Alex team.

11 Nov 2016 17:33:00
Nobodys talking about money or age. Its the mentality we need. A fighting spirit. A Rangers man. An ethos. Something we don't have at present.

11 Nov 2016 18:03:27
Agree lads he'd certainly make us harder to beat, can't believe some on here are happier having 60 % possesion than winning games.

11 Nov 2016 18:18:57
Gents the felling is that MW has lost confidence of the team and the fans. I will support the manager 100% as long as he is in position but its clear as day he is struggling to get the best out of the team so if you examine why that is let's look at the facts. MW has arrived at Rangers from a very small English club won nothing, he has had the second highest spend in the SPL and we look like top 6 would be an achievement of current form. Style of play is alien to most of our squad, some mental passages of play because they are scared at times to play the long ball. Daft situations getting our self's into trouble because we are feart to play it long. Corners are a non event, Defending corners is a lottery. Have you seen the keeper take a high ball out the air. I get the feeling the players at the start thought all this monitoring of hydration rates and training methods would make them better players, so far we have not looked any better that some of the teams who don't undertake anything like this. The cup final against Hibbs we looked a mile off the pace for fitness, we were heavy legged from the first 10 minutes.

Guys just suppose MW experiment goes T1TS up where do we go from there. New manger and start again

DK needs to offer a substantial funding package and the fans also need to invest again. My concern would be MW judgment as so far the system and the players have not worked in the SPL.

11 Nov 2016 19:32:19
we are not talking about a team that has scaled the heights and is on the wane, we are talking about the team that has just come up a division . We nearly disappeared because of a crazy financial model t, the players we have are just not the quality we once had but we need to take it slowly and keep an eye on the bottom line .

11 Nov 2016 23:02:19
When Sir Walter was Scotland manager we were almost there. I'd love him to give it another go as he motivates players but, I can already hear the fans of other clubs going on about how he left to bail out RFC. Peter Lawwell wouldn't agree to it anyway so it's a no go.

12 Nov 2016 14:55:34
Couldn't go back to that football and wouldn't want him risking his legendary status. I imagine at 68 the job would be too much hassle.

12 Nov 2016 15:05:28
Yes bryan 1978,i don't think there's any chance that sir walter will be back as our manager. I truly hope not but i think derek mcinnes will be the next rangers manager, how soon, i honestly don't know. I do know a few of our directors rate mcinnes very highly. I also know for a fact that both walter smith and sir alex ferguson rate derek mcinnes highly and walter has actually tipped mcinnes, to be a future glasgow rangers manager!

12 Nov 2016 17:35:37
Totally with delboy9 on this. Couldn't have put it better myself. Nothing more to add!

14 Nov 2016 13:29:23
ballocks saying walter wasn't a great manager and it was all down to individual players. then u go on to name quite a few that played in the same side lol plus walter took us to Manchester don't forget that.
people argued with his tactics but they worked up until the final obviously. but naw he wouldn't come back and i want everyone to support the man in charge at the moment.

11 Nov 2016 14:39:56
Folk saying Waghorn isn't good enough& should get rid need a shake.

He's had a poor start to the season, in and out of the team.

Last season he scored 20 goals in 25 league games. - without those goals we wouldn't have won the league as convincingly.

Give the boy a break - he's done good things for us and will do again.

11 Nov 2016 15:12:42
How many were from penalties?

11 Nov 2016 16:19:03
He offers nothing in this league now for me and he's also to left footed and for his build he is not the most physical of players which I think is why we are having a hard time in this league up to this point, but it do agree that his goals last season helped us big time to get us in this league, but personally I would have Garner in my team every week over Waghorn, but I do wish him all the best if he does leave.

11 Nov 2016 16:53:20
Waggie away in January.

11 Nov 2016 10:31:44
Waghorn is expected to leave in January. He was looking for a wage that was close to that of Niko and Garners. Personally I reckon he was asking for way too much. I'll happily drive him down south if another team comes in for him. what amount would be good to receive for him? 800k-1.2mil?

11 Nov 2016 10:54:46
Last season the squad was smaller and players seemed happier cause they were all involved. this season I think the squad increased to the point where even with a couple of injuries and the Barton saga we've got players in stand on matchday like forester. It must make it harder for warbs to keep them all happy.

11 Nov 2016 10:58:43
He's a striker so would be pushing for £1 million but little less would do us fine. Was never a Waghorn lover and he's way down pecking order now behind Garner and milller n quite rightly so. He scored a few penalties yes but never set the fire alight at Ibrox. I'm hoping Garner does. If not we need a striker in on January along with Defender and playmaker. But all we can hope for is a loan or a cheap option in January as I know we have little money in that boardroom.

11 Nov 2016 11:25:10
Has anyone actually looked at Waghorn recently? If you have then you may have noticed that he is carrying a lot of extra weight around the middle and has grown a pair of breasts since last season.

I would be happy to take 250k for him tbh, anything more would be a bonus.

11 Nov 2016 12:17:50
Has anyone seen the money they're quoting for Jason Cummings?

Waghorn, £800,000, really?

Understand the situation with the contract and he isn't playing every week and so on, but an offer of £800,000 is not going to be accepted by the club, that's for sure.

11 Nov 2016 13:20:51
how much do they want for Cummings?
for me waggy is worth double of whatever he is worth .
waggy if played through the middle is a good goalscorer and would come good for us again plus he can make runs off the defenders shoulders I've yet to see that form garner and tbh i'm not impressed with him one bit he works hard but has no end result.
i'd go for adam rooney he is proven goalscorer at this level and with the chances we create think he could score 20 + golas a season for us which is what we need.
I said this at the beginning of the transfer window in the summer but nothing happened .

11 Nov 2016 14:45:59
Onlyshow if we get 800 grand for waghorn you drive him down and I'll pay for you're petrol.

11 Nov 2016 17:10:06
I can't see us getting anywhere near 800k for him more nearer 500k even that might be a tough sale.

11 Nov 2016 18:07:07
Be lucky to get 3 quid n a big of bibs for him way the way he's playing, for whoever said he's worth double what Cummings is worth just behave.

11 Nov 2016 09:21:21
Getting away from the Gers for a minute, here is my team for tonight at Wembley in 3-5-2 format:

Marshall; Mulgrew, Hanley, Wallace; Snodgrass; D. Fletcher, Brown, Burke, Anya; Griffiths, Naismith

Chesney will probably pass over Wallace and though I hate to say it, Brown and Griffiths must play from the start. Iceland beat England at the Euros earlier this year so with a bit of luck (which Scotland rarely enjoys) we might sneak all 3 points. Thoughts fellow Bears?

11 Nov 2016 09:51:53
3 at the back with onyl 1 of them being a centre half and 2 who are full backs? Surely if you're playing a 3-5-2 against England away you'd need to have 3 recognised centre halves and 2 wing backs? Anya could pass as a wing back but not Burke?

11 Nov 2016 10:15:55
Personally I think Strachan missed out on a few good players, Matt Phillips, Ryan Fraser, Charlie Adam, McCormack, Dorrans. My team if I could pick any Scottish player (obviously not those whoa are injured) would be:-

Marshall

Patterson
Berra
Hanley
Kingsley

McArthur
Fletcher

Phillips
Burke
Fraser

McCormack/ Griffiths

That to be works better, the 3 attacking mids have pace instead of the slow sluggish players we are currently using, which baffles me why we use slow players in a formation that requires fast players, Strachan is out his depth and I can't wait for England to beat us 3 maybe 4-0. Finally Strachan will be gone and we will have a manager that picks his best players.

11 Nov 2016 13:20:38
I like what your saying about Philips and Adam, even dorrans who's playing well for Norwich.
No room for those players tho, we've got john mcginn and Charlie Mulgrew. wtf.

11 Nov 2016 13:24:59
for me fletcher wouldn't be in my team infact none of the fletchers would steven or Darren as bot are too slow and past their best.
people say we have no talent in Scotland but I disagree I just don't think players get their chance when they deserve it because of a wee t*ms favourites get picked first.
Strachan is the worst thing to happen to the team since big berti was in charge.
the style of football the passion he brings out in his players is non existant. quicker he goes the better for the national team.

11 Nov 2016 13:33:10
But remember we can't pick championship players unless they wear green! The addition of Mulgrew confuses me, he is utter pish.

11 Nov 2016 13:48:54
Anyone think Ian Cathro Would take the job?

11 Nov 2016 16:58:25
Marshall
Patterson martin berra wallace
brown mcarthur
snodgrass naismith Ritchie
griffiths.

11 Nov 2016 18:09:37
Big boy Pattersons dire I fear for us if he plays.

12 Nov 2016 15:13:55
Of course ian cathro would take the rangers manager's job. We were led to believe he was in the running before warburton got it. I was told before warburton got the rangers manager's job that the only manager's that were in contention were, warburton, billy davies, stuart mccall, derek mcinnes with cathro as the outsider. I don't think they would risk giving the job to cathro now, as he's never been a manager. If warbs were to be changed i truly think our board would look for a manager with experience!
