They are the better team with a more experienced manager - end of We are not there yet .
Here’s an interesting dilemma that the board face - do they appoint Murty in the summer and hope he can stop 8 and then risk appointing another manager the season after to stop 9 . if Murty doesn’t deliver .

After today my big concern is the players heads go down and feel sorry for themselves as I don't think they'll get a better chance to beat that mob than today and all the hard work getting into the position we're in will be for nothing. Murty has a job getting the heads up again especially for the semi.

If they have anything about them, the team won't need any motivation from Murty. We had them on the rack for large parts of the game and if we didn't have to rejig our defence, I think we would have had them. Still disappointed in the performance after the sending off though. However I don't see Tav and Candeias having such an off day, with regards to supplying the strikers any time soon. Bring on the Semi final!

Jason cummings should start against them in the semi final! Morelos who i like, doesn't seem to be able to score against them! Just look at the chances morelos has actually missed against them guys! The game at ibrox last september, the december game there at breezeblock boulevard and today's game at ibrox! He's missed a lot of chances within these 3 games!

Super, . I see what your getting at, but Morelos is more than that. He bullied the Celtic defence all game and, boytata was shi**ING himself every time he was close. Cummings did nothing when he came on, he's a 6yard box striker, . Unfortunately we don't create enough (yet) for him to be effective again at Celtic

I was at the game today and agree Morales bullied their backline the whole game. His all round game is better he's still young and will improve. The first chance the defender got a touch on the ball that guided it into the keeper and the 2nd he hit the post 9/ 10 that hits the back of the net. The players have a chance to redeam themselves pump them out the cup and stop the double treble.

Let me start here by saying that morelos is a good striker and brings a lot to our team! But just like i said last week, jason cummings is a better finisher than morelos! He's a more natural goalscorer imo! Cummings would have scored the 2 that morelos missed against celtic today, with ease! Cummings would have scored that sitter that morelos missed from 3 yards, BLINDFOLDED! I agree with wee alex, its now time to start cummings up front!

Agree with you there, Morelos appears to be like Kris Boys in that he fails to deliver in the big games, unbelievable sitters missed against them in Dec and today - give Cummings a chance and see what he can do.

On a slightly different subject can anyone tell me why Herrera is on the bench? I really don’t see what he could offer coming on. Tbh there isn’t a scenario that would require him. Would be better off With Dodoo or O’Halloran there at least they have pace and mobility

Your missing my point. What I’m asking is why have Herrera on the bench on any game not just today? I don’t see what he offers and it’s clear Murty doesn’t either hence the number of times he has been left on it even when we are chasing a goal. I don’t think either Dodoo or O’Halloran are the answer but at least both have pace something Herrera doesn’t have.

Disappointed to say the least, terrible defending, at least Murty knows where he needs to sort out in the summer the defence has never filled me with any confidence, no composure when clearing our lines, either a rushed half hit of a clearance or an aimless boot up the Park. Morelos is making a habit of sitters, he has to be more clinical, then the Colombian Coach might look at him, but I'm afraid Alfredo you can book your holidays because your definitely Not going to the World Cup.

Cardosa should never play again. Offers nothing for me. Fod needs to wise up as 2nd goal he shouldn't have come off line. We go in up at halftime different game. Thought we had a few passengers at time like Murphy and windass. Don't think Murphy was really fit and windass should have been hooked after 60 mins. Red card should have signalled immediate changes to Murty to stretch them. Was very even though and am convinced we're on their coat tails now.

Foderingham must be moved on
Way off his line for the first goal, made the decision to come out for the second and just stopped.
Also not good at cutting down the angles to allow an easy strike on target for the third.
We can't build confidence with a shaky defence with this guy in goals.
Poor all round today with Tav and Candias never put a decent cross in all game.
Again Morelos missed a sitter but to be fair he never received any decent service in the match.
Way behind celtic on quality.

Foderham and Alnwick need to be moved on cause there are simply not good enough, add Hodson, Krancjar (Warburton signing) . Then there, s (Pedro, s signing ) Pena, Herera together with Cardoso and Alves (major disappointment) who won, t make it in Scottish fottballl cause they are simply too slow.
Murty and our DOF made improvements in January (were left with a mess) and the team has shown real improvement since, but we have a long way to go.
We need real quality and astute signings in the summer, hopefully the Board can come up with some real investment cause unfortunately we are still a long way behind.

We are famous for goalkeepers Kloss, McGregor, the Goalie, etc Foderingham is a dodgy keeper.

Alves for me had a good game today won everything in the air and some good tackles and his balls over the top into the lines were decent so don't think he put a foot wrong today and I said I wouldn't start Cummings because he is not a striker to play up top on his own simple as that.

Have to disagree with that first goal is a good finish midfield not tracking back and no one closed him down so can't blame the keeper for that second goal is terrible defending again Cardoso on the wrong side of his man which means keeper has to come out gets lobbed realistically if the defender defends properly keeper doesn't need to come out to narrow the angle third goal again poor defending showing the striker on to his strong foot and giving him too much space for a shot again keeper can't do anything about that if we cut out the stupid schoolboy defending those chances aren't there so to blame the keeper for the 3 goals is unreal first half defending errors aside we played well second half we would have been as well staying in the dressing room as we didn't turn up it is hard to take but we get our heads down roll our sleeves up and we go again

Dembelle was only on his backside after he played the ball it's clear to see brown plays a long hopeful ball up the park Cardoso gets caught ball watching on the wrong side of his man the ball comes off the side of dembelles head fods comes off his line as Dembelle is practically one on one and he lobs the ball over the keeper then falls on his arse unfortunately it goes in but if Cardoso is in a better position to start with Dembelle doesn't get the chance of that shot so I'm not sure what game you where watching

We did make a game of it today but every time they crossed the half way line your heart was in your mouth! They probably just shaded it but we certainly looked a lot better and probably suffered when big Bates went of as Cordoso is dreadful at best😭.

We have made progress this season compared to last year, Murty is getting there bit by bit. We need to sharpen up in the box and get earlier balls in, too many passes across the pitch when we're crying out for someone to take a chance and shoot. If Murty gets the job in the summer then he must sign central defenders, Alves and Cardoso just haven't got it for Scottish football. Once we stop giving away avoidable goals at the back the rest of the team will look more solid going forwards. Onwards and upwards Bears, let's do 'em in the cup, nothing to lose now!

Not too disheartened today. We started well and competed.
Unfortunately we’re still lacking quality in depth from the bench.
The legs went in some of our midfielders about 65min in and against 10 men we just couldn’t find that final telling pass.
Lots of mistakes, few howling misses, but lots of effort and commitment.
Take that into the cup game and build on it. Last season and early on, we were getting steamrolled.

I agree with Murty that basic defensive errors cost us today. Simple stuff that should come natural to pro’s . Cardoso is not good enough but he has had no game time to get sharper. midfield did well and competed well. Morales! I just wish this boy could bury the simple goals because he works so hard and causes mischief but when he needs to earn his crust it sometimes falls wayside. the gulf was not as big as previous matches and I am confident we will win in semi and get a good result at the pig sty

We can't point the finger guys. We win as a team and loose as a team. let's not talk tactics, misses, subs, red cards etc, both teams were not at full strength and were guilty of making silly mistakes. It could have been on any other day 3-3 or 3-2 lady lucky wasnt on our side today. We have also won with 10 men plenty of times so we just have to accept this result as difficult as that maybe.
I don't think we were ever going to win this game and the semi, so let's hope we get the better of them at Hampden.

Thought 1st half was great to watch, 2nd half was awful. Morelos should have scored, no excuses. Thought the sending off ruined the game, although if it is deliberate then the ref has no choice. The linesman called it straight away. I thought fod was to blame for dembelle's goal, his positioning was awful. On the other hand they had boyata. Overall much more like a rangers team v celtic. Very unlucky today.

Hi Arthur, What i'm trying to say is no excuses, not don't discuss after all that's part of the pleasure in football. Morelos didn't loose us the game we lost as a team over 90 minutes. Morelos all round play was actually pretty good. If we are to be critical, then as a team we couldn't cross the road today let alone the ball. Set pieces, corners, final ball were very poor. Our central mid was out gunned, Windass although got his goal needs to work back and reinforce the middle more he didn't lay a glove on them today, did you see him win a ball? We needed a no nonsense player in the middle today to deal with Ntcham/ Brown. We need a rethink for the semi. Celtic can be beaten. Murty, over to you.

First of all, what a game! My view: 1. Still not enough numbers in depth - our bench was very weak compared with Celtics. 2. Murty still being hunted by PC signings - centre half’s poor especially Cardoso, if we could have moved these guys on then we’d still have Wilson who would have been better. 3. Murty needs to hold his hands up - he was lost when they went to ten men, didn’t have a clue. Windass and / or Morelos should have been subbed very quick into the second half, not at the races today! Hope for better at the semi final, some of these guys need to take a long hard look in the mirror! I still hop me Murty gets the job full time and learns from today, I’m sure on reflection he’ll which he’d change things sooner!

The one and only positive today was that we competed today and if chances were taken we would have won. We were missing half a midfield but one thing I will say I thought some tactical decisions baffling. The difference between the teams today was they have players that only need one chance and it’s in the net ours need 3 or 4 chances
Morelos was very poor and Windass done his usual score a goal then hide for the rest of the match.
Goss had a very poor game too he was at fault for the 1st and 3rd goals
Anyway the positives are they are not that far ahead of us and can be beaten at Hampden if all our players bring their A game to the match

He had a great game looked really solid. Cardosa infuriates me. Totally useless. Don't rate him at all. Why we let celtic dominate last 15 in 1st half then when down to 10 men not jump on them i'll never know. You have to be ready to change it up when needed. Murty reminds me of the bread man in that he doesn’t change it quick enough.
They had an extra man in midfield, the game was crying out for Windass (as apart from his goal he done nothing apart from hide) to come off and put holt on to match up in the middle of the park but for some reason he left it the way we started and in the end they won the midfield battle and eventually the game.
Let’s don't get too disheartened as we are making Progres and are light years ahead of the shambles Pedro put on the park against them the last time they came to town

That was really hard to take, to fall apart the second half after them going a man down is unacceptable really, but at the end of the day we were out of that title race before murty took over, and for him to turn up the heat and pressure is really something to keep the spirits up, realistically we are one good transfer window away from making it 55, I just hope the main emphasis this summer is on tying up Murphy full time, maybe even Cummings AND buying a defence that actually defend!

Cardosa is shocking. Really hope he gets binned ASAP. Soon as Bates went off I felt the worst. Fod should do better for 2 nd I thought. And why when they went down to 10 men subs weren't brought on baffles me. Inject energy and get at them. Really disappointed. Stats do show though very even game.

Why do Celtic make the attacking change before us? Why was Windass not hocked scores his goal not really in the game from there on. big questions is Murty the man to take us forward? I blame Murty for not making the correct substitutions. Why did he only make 1 sub when clearly we were not making advantage of the 10 men.

Morelos has been great recently but today and against Falkirk he's dropped in form. Its easy for me to say now but Cummings did enough for me last week to start today. For some reason imo Goss was very poor today. A very good chance to win and close the gap! Celtic all over the back pages tomorrow when it should be us!

Unbelievable the chances Morelos keeps missing the one at 2-2 and that one at the end. He is great and getting in about the opposition and getting into the position to score but what good is that is you don’t put the ball in the back of the net I prefer getting behin the players/ team but I am struggling with continually missing chances he does.

That was dreadful. Half an hour against 10 men and they can barely motivate themselves to take the win, which was there for the taking. There was no urgency and they completely ran out of ideas once they knew the expectation was on them. There was never anyone busting a gut to get on the end of a cross. There'd been plenty of fire before that which is even more frustrating. Don't know if sky fiddle with the crowd volume but things seemed a bit flat at times today. I was expecting a huge push after the red but didn't sound like it came.

I love Morelos but unfortunately he, s got a long way to go and he, s still not the finished article. hopefully we can sign Cummings in the summer cause he, s 10 times a better finisher. We simply don, t have a strong clinical finisher like they have in Dumbele.
We played very well today but to win these games you need to be tight at the back, hold the ball in midfield and take your chances.
Firstly other than Bates we cannot defend properly, Cardoso is a liability and not suited to our physical game, Alves although great pedigree has let us down to often and our game is to fast for him, also Martin is an average defender. Bottom line is we need a reshaped defence for next season and need to spend money and buy the right players.
Secondly our midfield is good, Docherty played well and will only get better but although Goss is good footballer he, s tackling is poor, he, s posted missing to often i. e. their 1st goal today. Murty has got us playing lovely stuff but we give the ball far to often in important areas and we need to see if Dorans and Jack will improve this area cause at the moment were not upto combating Brown and Co.
Thirdly when you give away so many cheap goals as we do then the strikers need to take their chances in these games cause normally you don, t get so many.
Bottom line is we need to spend some real money in the summer to catch up with them. Need a top class goalkeeper, plus 2 x top class defenders, in wide positions Tavenier/ John/ Candias/ Murphy were good today, but we need min 1 real top midfielder, Windas was also good today but you have to carry him cause he cannot tackle, we also need to spend money on a top class striker.
Hopefully we can give Murty (he, s doing a great job) much more money and time to catch up with this mob next season. Cause I cannot stand watching Broonie and Co taking the piss on our Patch anymore.

I think we'll start off well today. I think we will be in control for the first 10 minutes or so before they get settled. So I'm hoping we can make the most of it and get a goal or 2 early on. Either way I think it will be a good game.
